I'm pretty fond of the Addiesdive 1000m puck you reviewed 5 mos ago, i immediately bought one after your review. I've never had more curiosity or conversations about an > $80 watch. amazing value for money and a real head-turner.
This video helped me to pick my first automatic... the Invicta 1953. I love this watch and its been on my wrist everyday since it arrived. I owe it all to you and your channel. Thank you!
Timex is the obvious omission here. The Expedition line are great field watches as are many of their other offerings. Models with Indiglo light beats any luminescence.
1. Excellent reviews. 2. In the last year, I purchased a Bertucci field watch, a Bulova Corporate watch, each under $100. And, last week, I received a $15 Casio analog watch.
Lol. I ordered a bunch of Vostoks direct from Russia a few months into the "Special Operation". One batch went on an adventure through Serbia, Georgia and Germany. The other batch never left the warehouse. I asked the vendor if he was having trouble because of the "conflict". He sheepishly replied "yeh, I should have mentioned that."
Seeing the six year old video of your review of the Casio MRW200, it's amazing how young your wrist looked back then, Jody. 😮 More on topic, in my book the Casio AE1200 is the best travel watch on the planet regardless of price.
I have the Guanqin watch and I put longer dauphine hands in it and it looks great. Also the twelve sided bezel is from tungsten steel and after four years there's not one scratch on it. The case is 316L steel and it's scratched ofcourse. One of the best deals on Ali. Great video Jody. Love your content.
Great list as always. It's fun finding decent watches at a bargain. I would add: Casio MTD1053 steel 200m quartz diver at 60 EUR, Chameri King Seiko hommage with sweeping Seiko quartz at 55 EUR, Tandorio 38mm military NH35A automatic with sunburst dial & rubber strap at 50 EUR, Addiesdive 1000m NH35A automatic diver at 80 EUR, Berny 37mm titanium sweeping Seiko quartz military style at 53 EUR, Parnis 2989 41mm small seconds with SeaGull automatic at 80 EUR.
I have a bertucci a1-s, the steel case one, after getting bored with my square g and wanting an analog. Just over $100 but it’s been super comfortable, durable, and accurate. Loses ~10 sec every few months but I think it’s an absolute steal if you need a tough watch or gshock alternative. Can’t recommend enough!

I’m wearing my Vostok and DW5600 while watching this video. I do wish the Vostok had a larger lug length instead of the 18mm. I do love how chunky the case is, it’s just over 15mm in thickness. Yet it fits the wrist perfectly. When people ask about the watch, I tell them it’s a Soviet watch. The 5600 is a classic but flawed in the modern times. The 218 has a larger display than the 5600. Also the recessed adjust button is the worst. I’m sourcing a longer button to replace the shorty in the case. Yet I still love it, it’s not thick like the Vostok but almost has the same foot print. It’s very comfortable on the wrist. Rather light not super light like the 218. If it had the world time functions that would be great.
I copped the all red casioak for 120 Pacific Pesos ($82 US) from a City Beach outlet bricks and mortar shop. Gotta get creative for your budget watch shopping in Australia!
Bought the SD1970 on a rubber strap a few weeks ago. Wears much smaller than I envisioned on my 7.5" wrist. I think a 7" wrist would work. Great watch! With US tax $50!
217H is my daily wear for years now. I have a blue and a brown one. I am a teacher and accuracy and quick time check is essential. I use the brown when wearing darker clothes. Great watches!
You're bang on with the Hodinkee Sistem51; I got mine in the fire sale for US$35. At less than $100 it's a great watch, pretty cool looking and quite comfy.
If I didn't already have a SD1970 I'd say the Casio Duro is the best cheap Holiday Dive watch out there. But the SD1970 is just mental value for money. I paid less than £60 Inc import tax last year. The quality is better than my SKX and the Lume is insanely good. You just can't beat this watch as a cheap auto diver..Just buy one you won't be disappointed....

Recently bought the Tandorio GMT . It was supposed to be titanium but arrived as stainless and is quite a lump. However, the finish of watch and clasp is lovely and it keep’s excellent time. Thanks Jody for the advice. A lot of watch for £55 quid delivered
Well done Jody, this is now fixed & it's back at $80. As below, there must have been something weird happen with the ‘Pagani Phillipe’ link as it is showing USD$424 right now! Good list, if predictable if you've watched all of the channels reviews!
There is nothing „cool“ about Soviet memorabilia. In the past 3 years 400.000 people died because people with a Soviet mindset launched an invasion into a neighbouring country.
My favorite 2024 is the Prospex Limited Edition 1965 Recreation European Exclusive in Gradation Island Blue. The dial is stunning and the contrast when on a white strap is to die for. I will get my hands on one from MAMACOO
A great list as always (and food for thought!) Thanks! You are teasing us with the Pagani 'Philippe' though! Sold out in grey and asking $400+ for blue!
The seagull SS and the steeldive 1970 are both stellar. Glad to see two of my favorite Chinese watches made the list. I own a limited edition Seiko Willard. The steeldive has a much better bezel with its solid clicks and ceramic insert.
One Casio missing from your list is the Casio Edifice EFB-108D-7AV. Cracking watch with a really nice bracelet and a sapphire crystal for under $100 USD.
Great list Jody. The Casio AW81, blue dial with rubber strap gets my vote. I love the tonneau shaped case and the large, positive digital display. At $35 it's hard to beat.
You briefly reviewed it on a combo video but I just picked up the Pagani Design PD 1751 (Tudor Explorer alike) for $60 and it's a great little watch. Beautiful dial and mine is running at -0.5 second a day. Incredible
Brilliant video Jody, I have or rather have had a few of these and still have a couple. My Vostoks are hidden away waiting for better days to come. There are great value and well specified watches out there, perhaps not for watch snobs but for everyone else they can be great.
Well that was fun and refreshing to see this great list of inexpensive but great watches! I have the Casio Duro in 'pepsi" colors, a great and accurate watch. Plus a couple of the Casioaks which really are fun. I'll look into the other suggestions. Cheers!
The A to Z of a cheap watch collection. Glad to see Tandorio making the cut (despite the name). Pleased that I have several on your list as your respected recommendation makes me feel warm and fuzzy - even if it is probably your fault I bought them in the first place.
Pretty comprehensive list. I might add one or two that I'm enjoying: the Escapement Time sweeping quartz, and the Pagani Design Hulk which I still enjoy despite its size. I won't mention another watch I think helped start the channel, but it might be the Tevise "Perlative Cheronometer". I modded mine with a ceramic bezel and a black and white striped nato and it looks fantastic. I am not kidding! 😂😂

just bought a vostok amphibia for 85€! eagerly awaiting for the package to arrive. Thank you for your videos recommending this brand, im quite new to the watch world but ive been learning steadily through your channel
There's a $100 Explorer homage on Ali sold under a few names, like Bliger and Larimoker, that comes in either 36mm or 39mm, with a sapphire crystal, and features a screw link bracelet and a glide lock clasp. Since it uses a 29mm dial and an NH35 movement there are plenty of options to customize it, and some of the sellers will even customize it for you if you buy an alternate dial and hands from them.
I'm surprised the Citizen Chander military watch didn't make the list...eco drive, day/date, not too big and high legibility. Worth considering for the next list I reckon Jody 👍🏻 great video
Uhhgn, that Pagani 'Phillipe' is SO pretty! But looks like the grey face you show is sold out everywhere - I'll just have to add it to my Ali wishlist and hope they do another production run.
My top 3 would be the AddiesDive Chronograph AD2037, SteelDive Captian willard homage, and Casio AE 1200. I love my Moded AE 1200, definitely a watch for everywhere.
What's better than a list of affordable watches from Jodi. Of course now I will rewatch 3 times trying to figure out which one is the most practical, trying to justify that I need one of these to round out my collection of 20 watches. Honestly man, your the bakery window I have to walk by each Sunday morning after I vowed to start my diet on Monday. Speaking of could you please build a Origin 38 with the orange colored dial and black bezel you offer on the Origin 41. I swear it will be the last watch I buy. No really I promise.🤞
As an alternative to the Pagani Philippe, the Addiesdive AD2037 is a homage to the Furlan Marri Havana (itself also a homage to mid-century Patek chronos) that often dips into the USD 60-70 range. Terrible branding but the watch itself is lovely, with more interesting case design, finishing and dial detailing (provided you don't look too close, as with most AliX models).
I got a Casio Duro a few years ago based on your recommendation. Still with the awesome dial before they removed the best part about it. Got some obscure sapphire mod off of Ali. It is an AMAZING watch.
This is a great list for someone just getting into the hobby on a budget! I would replace the Casio W217H with the Casio W800H, which I think is a better option at a similar price, and I might include the new G Shock GD010 instead of the Casioak, but these are both personal preferences.
I have the W217h and the square G, the Guanqin and Bertucci are probably the only others on this list iv'e thought about buying. For me the price beater has to be the Addiesdive Pilot that can be had for under US $50 on sale, it is an IWC clone though.
Hi Jody, A great selection to choose from I have a couple in my collection after you recommeded them. keep up the good work. How about a 20 - under $200 selection. 2024
I searched but did not find a review by you of the Casio G-SHOCK GA-2000. To me this is one of the most underrated G-SHOCK models, likely due to being overshadowed by the GA-2100 CasiOak. But the big buttons are so much better, the strap is much better (because ti articulates and can be swapped easily), the dial is more interesting, it comes in nice color combos, and is easily had for
Love my Tandio SKX clones for $65 and Hamilton clone at $35! Hands down the best value for an NH35 auto watch. I agree that the brand name is weird, so I get the sterile versions every time.
If I get the titanium tandorio from aliexpress can I swap the band? I’m new to watches. I really like the tandorio gmt and the specs seem good to me. I like the titanium version, but it has a leather strap. Coming from my only watch being an Apple Watch, I was hoping to get a watch with a metal band. Is that something I can do? Is it easy?
I literally bought a Casio MRW200 Yesterday morning for £20 you literally forget you are wearing it because it's so comfortable I needed a new watch because the movement failed on my old one and it would have cost more to service it than buy a new one and so far I am more than happy with my new Casio
Jodi I wish you would review the Invicta speedway chronograph 39.9 mm. It looks a little like a Daytona. But it has its own charm and comes in a ton of different colors. Most of the time you can get one under $100 to go from 80 to maybe $120 usd
Oh 100% the Steeldive. The lume is amazing on mine. Absolutely beautiful finishing. Came with the tools needed to size. Good packaging. I got mine for about 77CAD. One of the best budget watches I've ever had. It's also running about -5 seconds a day. Truely good value, and i hope everyone who gets one has a similar experience. For comparison, i had it next to my citizen promaster, which is newer, and the lume was a lot better on the Steeldive.

Speaking of could you please build a Origin 38 with the orange colored dial and black bezel you offer on the Origin 41. I swear it will be the last watch I buy. No really I promise.🤞
Not normally a fan of field watches, but that Boderry Voyager looks intriguing 🤔
A really great range. Pretty much something for anyone (who wants a watch). I have a few of them.
Pagani design is my Tandorio - I just can't get over that name to buy it. I have Amphibia and AE1200 from the list.
Addiesdive turtle with a white seabed style dial is so underrated!
Very good selections & useful video appreciated ❤
In Jamaica, on holiday... Thanking you later, rocking the steel dive Willard with a grains of rice band 👌🏾🔥👌🏾
Yes, watching with mrw-200 on my wrist ❤
I got a Casio Duro a few years ago based on your recommendation. Still with the awesome dial before they removed the best part about it. Got some obscure sapphire mod off of Ali. It is an AMAZING watch.
My sixth one, the batman, shows up tomorrow. 😂
This is a great list for someone just getting into the hobby on a budget! I would replace the Casio W217H with the Casio W800H, which I think is a better option at a similar price, and I might include the new G Shock GD010 instead of the Casioak, but these are both personal preferences.
The AE1500WH is visually the same watch as the 010 without it being a gShock and only costing $22 US.
But the big buttons are so much better, the strap is much better (because ti articulates and can be swapped easily), the dial is more interesting, it comes in nice color combos, and is easily had for
I'll check it out mate, thanks!
What a video, the beauty of Rolex is of another class
I'd be happy to wear any of those 😁. Keep up the good work 👍
Excellent content! ❤thank you!
Nice list! I've got the Casio MRW-200H and thinking about getting the Casio AE-1200WH-1a. Those Seagull watches look ok too. Or maybe a Casio Duro. 😅
Love my Tandio SKX clones for $65 and Hamilton clone at $35! Hands down the best value for an NH35 auto watch. I agree that the brand name is weird, so I get the sterile versions every time.
Great vid. Thanks J.
One shot destination for your ultimate budget
i bought the red casio mrw200 after see it here...tis a great watch
When we finally have world peace we will be able to enjoy them again 😂
If I get the titanium tandorio from aliexpress can I swap the band? I’m new to watches. I really like the tandorio gmt and the specs seem good to me. I like the titanium version, but it has a leather strap. Coming from my only watch being an Apple Watch, I was hoping to get a watch with a metal band. Is that something I can do? Is it easy?
Of course, easy to swap
I literally bought a Casio MRW200 Yesterday morning for £20 you literally forget you are wearing it because it's so comfortable I needed a new watch because the movement failed on my old one and it would have cost more to service it than buy a new one and so far I am more than happy with my new Casio
“Using vodka and small twigs” hahaha 😂 you’re such a fun likeable dude.
Jodi I wish you would review the Invicta speedway chronograph 39.9 mm. It looks a little like a Daytona. But it has its own charm and comes in a ton of different colors. Most of the time you can get one under $100 to go from 80 to maybe $120 usd
The Casio Duro Blue & Black is a beautiful looking watch looks a lot better in real life
Oh 100% the Steeldive.
Incredible, I got many of them. Great watches!
Excellent choices Jaime!
