So excited to be part of the Yard Mastery team and to give back to the lawn care community that I love so much. Thanks, Al.
🤘👊
Who are you?
@Jimmy Lewis Go get'em! Congrats on joining the team!
The answer is yes, he still recommends milorganite and still loves it.
Thanks for saving me time
Thanks!
Thanks, saved me 20 mins. I wish these guys wouldn’t drag out these stupid videos
I owe you 21 minutes! 😆
While I liked the video, it is ridiculous that he drug out a 2 second answer to the end of a nearly 22 minute video.
Milo question starts 16:48
You the best.
You da real MVP
And lasts 20 seconds in a 21 min video. 😆
Doing gods work out here.
thanks I was looking for that to get past the fluff.
Congrats jimmy! Well deserved!
He’s such a good dude, was always approachable when I was first starting out. I’ll never forget that
Good choice Al 👍
Nothing better than a cold beer, good cigar, and a oceanfront sunset!!
... and some ribs cooking on the grill!
$100 says those rocks were thrown out there by somebody's kids during the wedding. You picking them up reminds me of my own lawn! lol constant battle!
A great weekend here and it just rained really nicely....Dude....I have been watering my lawn everyday down here. Now it's time to think about keeping things green for the summer...
I’m up in Jacksonville and as usual we’ve had the same dry spring as you’ve had further south. About a month and a half ago we got 2 days of steady rainfall and the difference in color and out & out juiciness of the lawn was vastly superior to the H2O provided by irrigation. All about the nitrogen levels in cloud water vs. municipal water.
thought of you, "My dad is obsessed with grass. And cutting grass. And talking about how much better the grass looks. I wanted to eat dinner but it might rain so he has to cut the grass. I suggested cutting it tomorrow. Terrible suggestion if you were wondering. Grass waits for no one."
Allyn that 20 min went by in a flash! I think I could have watched an hour video tonight!! Can’t wait to see your new product! Thank you for the sunset. You really do have to take a moment to stop and step back from the hustle and bustle of life and realize how glorious it is!! God Bless!
Thanks Allyn....Loved the LCN Field Trip via Bike!!!!!!! Fun to see your hood...it's been a while!!!!
Happy Memorial day and Thank you for your service Allyn! Thanks to ALL who served know you are GREATLY appreciated!!!
Just wanted to say thanks for your videos and Yardmastry it has helped me with my lawn. Ist never looked better. Thx again, tall fescue. Louisville,KY
Great news for Jimmy! Hope everyone has a great Memorial Day!
I bet 5 bucks the fert is called "FREEDOM" and 17-7-6 is for the declaration of independence!!!
I thought the same thing......I picked that up too!!!!!!
Excellent comment!
I was thinking either that or “LIBERTY”
I will buy...
I think it’s going to be called “Freedom Factory”
Great video! The sound of the mower was mesmerizing, but maybe it's the 2nd adult beverage tonight, but the paused mower with those fluffy white clouds rolling over an incredible shade of blue was hypnotizing. Very Zen-like! Thank you!
PCB here, we have not had any precipitation in weeks but my irrigation throws down some serious H2O and my lawn looks great! I also threw down some Microgreene Saturday for the first time!
No rain for 2 weeks in May and 80’s in PA. Lawns are going dormant. Finally got 3 days of rain and I hope the grass comes back.
Excited to see what new fert you are coming out with! Congrats to Jimmy Lewis!
I chose to throw down double dark and flagship. Two weeks prior I threw down Milo. I have the darkest lawn on the block! Thanks Al for all of your tips. I also noticed you have the same Makita trimmer I have-the struggle is real-get a Shakespeare replacement head. It will save you a headache and frustration
I just received my bag of Double Dark, throwing it down today. Milo was last weekend, domination! 💚💚💚
Yes! Been doing Flagship and Double Dark bi-weekly and either my neighbors turf got much lighter or I’m smokin them all!
Which grass type do you have?
Which grass type do you have?
Karen Olvera not sure if you’re asking me...I have Kentucky Bluegrass. Everyone’s grass is either dead or yellow right now. Mine is a Hunter Green.
I put some Sea Kelp down before the heat wave here in the Midwest at 4am while everyone was asleep. Dominate!
Thank you to all the men and women who serve or have served America and especially to those heroes who have fallen in her defense. To all my fellow lawn care nuts please remember two words this weekend and every day throughout the year. What are those two words? "BE WORTHY." Live your life every day and BE WORTHY of the ultimate sacrifices that these patriots have willingly given so that all of us can enjoy the freedoms thst they and America have provided for us. May God always bless these heroes and their families and all of America every single day. BE WORTHY!!!
Greetings, thank you for sharing your lawn ideas!
Was very helpful to see all those real world lawn examples! 👍 Helps me to judge my own irrigation.
I laughed out loud at the “let there be RAIN!” Part and I’m not ashamed to admit it. NC has been just as bad brother. Hope this week brings liquid gold from the heavens.
Milorganite is AWESOME! I just seeded my lawn with Bermuda 3 weeks ago and used a starter fertilizer plus Milo without Otis and it looks unbelievable.
Threw done my first application of Milo yesterday (first time using it). Smelled like "strange" blueberries. Have extra bags in the garage. The garage is now seasoned.
Maybe they had blueberries on sale in Milwaukee.
LOL!!! Maybe.
Nice Oliva...love the Melanio! Threw down Milo earlier in the week. This weekend is cold and rainy in PA. Still enjoying a Perdomo 20th Anniversary in the garage.
Al, thanks for all your great content. That said, I'm torn because after having my Yardmastery soil test I found that my phosphorus level is way high. So I can't throw down the Milo but I did order some Flagship so that I can get the much needed nitrogen boost.
Fert, grass, cigars and the beautiful Florida sun melting into the ocean! Great video Al. Love it! Sorry we didn’t get to meet up a couple weeks ago. I was in and out in just a couple of days! Next time!
Clicked for the Milo answer - stayed and watched every second of this for the awesome content in between.

Ugh, I should’ve waited to place an order
Glad I waited it looks like a summer blend when it's hot 🔥I LOVE LOVE 💘 DOUBLE DARK my grass blades have never been so juicy AKA SUPER HEALTHY is that grass testosterone you put in that fert??
@@rapfreak7797 buy more!
Perfect for our Nation's birthday from the MOST FREE STATE in the Union. You are a Patriot Big Al!!
Ordered my Flagship!
Drowning in rain this weekend in NJ but we needed it to.. I see the new fert has some P which is good for my turf as I'm still on the low side. Be well!
That shot of you in the mower with the clouds going by was awesome
Awesome sunset, fun to watch anytime of the day!!!
Milorganite has been around for a very long time. I remember it as a kid and I am 73. It amazed me because it came from the first urban sewer plant in the U.S.. I was surprise that people would put human waste on their lawns.
Incredible sunset time lapse
GREAT VID! Great choice in Cigar!! one of my favs
Welcome aboard Jimmy!
I love the Florida landscape. Always like palm tree whereas I have pine trees and constantly have to rake up the needles.
My neighbor’s pine trees are constantly polluting my Florida landscape. I hate those needles with an intense passion!
Crab grass is taking over some of my yard was told I have to wait till around October to get ahead of the crab grass or pull it all out by hand
Got rain today :)
Had installed a larger mailbox couple years back. Plenty rain scattered them years. This year.. My poor grass got hit hard with lack of water. The mailbox was blocking the sprinkler spray. Onwards to slow recovery
We got some rain coming this week. But you know how that goes. It's going to rain 2 inches, but we'll be lucky for 2 minutes.
Nice lawn and nice Stick. Can’t go wrong with the V series.
it's in my top 5 for sure.
Thats so cool you take care of the freedom factory dude.
Great video. The sun set at the end reminds me of being underway in the Coast Guard. Thanks
Over in St. Petersburg, it's basically been a sauna the past month. Not a drop of rain, humidity through the roof, it's like standing in a swamp. That said, my irrigation is doing it's job and the grass still looks the best on the block. I just threw down Stress Blend, RGS, Air-8, and Microgreen this weekend before the fert ban hits.
LCN is my favorite lawn care channel. The most knowledgeable content around. The sunset's are beautiful. Throw 'er down! Hope for the best.
I didn't put down Milo or Flagship but I was able to get some top soil from the field at Toyota Stadium in Frisco. They ripped up their field and have tons of left over topsoil (smells like success) with sprigs of Latitude 36. Hell of a workout but hope it helps my struggling lawn.
I can’t imagine using a stick edger for all that at the FF. Walk behind McLane for me 🤙🏻🤙🏻
I really wish you offered small quantities of fert and lawn supplements. I only have 1500 sq ft of grass. I don't need or have room for 45# bags of fert or 2.5 gal of sprayable.
Hi Allan! Love the content and as always the background music :). I tried Flagship for the first time Memorial Weekend throw down... looking green! I notice you use a wacker for your hard-scape interface... Dude you need to upgrade to a 2HP Edger (the one on wheels).. save the wacker and your back for trimming where the mower cannot reach. Install a plastic blade if you are worried about your pavers. They are very fast and do a 1st class job plus it saves your back. I always used it 35 years ago (am I that old?) in my lawn care business. My neighbor gave it to me because it stopped running.. easy to fix.. and still runs today. You will love it!
Very good cigar hope you enjoyed!
Zoysia is an amazing grass. Depending on the species you have it’s almost impossible to kill. You would need to get a flame thrower to kill most new cultivars. Hope the church zoysia makes a come back
i have hope
@@Thelawncarenut In northern Florida where I live we noticed our utility company throttled the water pressure in the early mornings resulting in a lot of my neighbors dead grass. It’s always a good idea to get that head lamp on and check your zones if the timer is set early!
Used to use milo. Stopped due to high phosphorus on both my soil tests. I do miss setting the spreader to the max and watching it fly but I can’t complain. That flagship and double dark got the turf nice, thick and dark!
That's a good thing. Milo and other "natural" fertilizers are being studied more and findings are that they are harmful to the environment with the amount of biosolids in them
Great vid Allyn!
thanks bro!
Congratulations on adding to the staff. Love the ap. Wish there was spell check on the jouurnell entryies.
I want to first thank you and the LCN community for all the help I receive watching these videos. My question is that I live in South Florida and tomorrow starts our blackout till Oct 1st. According to the Yard Mastery calendar that I follow it shows putting down Flagship next month which is a no no for me. I am going to put down the Micro-Greene this week as recommended. Is there a substitute I can use on my lawn instead of Flagship. Also can I put down RGS during blackout. TIA
congrats Jimmy..well deserved
Can't believe they have electric zero-turns now. Looks nice.
Another great vid, Allen!
Happy Memorial Day Allyn
Great video. Love the Serie V.
Chill track at the end.
thank you!
Dude, you are killing it! You are such a badass! If I saw you on the street I would run the other way. Keep doing you because it is working for me!
Yep, the struggle is real this year in Flaarida, and temps in the 90s everyday and no rain for many weeks now.
you need some Pink Floyd music to go with this sunset man lol .... great video Allyn and tks for everything man
I think Texas has all of your rain. Been raining like crazy this year.
Edit: It's June and I haven't had to turn on the sprinklers yet. The grass is doing great.
I tried milo in the past but found it caused disease to easily for my kbg.. have moved on to primarily using a backpack sprayer and use a granular called iron plus soil acidifier when I want to use the spreader. The iron plus is hands down the best I’ve used .. comparable to the Anderson’s pgf complete but sourced locally
Sunnyland too is a good alternative. Thanks! Pray for rain 🌧
I will be vacationing close to you in a few weeks, on Marco Island. I can’t wait to watch some of those sunsets!!!
they are really beautiful this time of year
We wnt to Marco Island in 2019 and really fell in love with the island. The sunsets were just as you record, amazing!
Looking forward to the Ryobi review 👍
Today is Miloganite day for me too. First time using it.
beautiful neighborhood !!
Love that hat! Rep the 406! Love it!
enjoyed the bicycle tour through the hood.
Finally got a good downpour today. Even some pea sized hail. Had a nice lawn-a-rita
Can't wait for the New Fert.
Love the video. You are a true blessing Allyn. And anyone who realizes that Oliva V is a premiere cigar is ok in my book. The double V Robusto is my go too. Happy Memorial Day
Good vid allyn
Big fan of the channel, has helped me in my own lawn a lot. Biking through the neighborhood made me think. Is it really smart for all these houses (multiply across the neighborhood, town, state, country) to be pumping water into the lawns for aesthetics? And unfortunately water is maybe the least of it in terms of everything being thrown down.
10:22 in deep thought! Awesome time lapse. I am curious what was going through your mind while sitting there.
I was literally just chillin'
@@Thelawncarenut nice! Happy Memorial Day weekend!! 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
I thought the ryobi died lol
Good choice on the Olivia V!
Gorgeous neighborhood!
thank you!
Visiting family by the villages and rain just started. Hope we get some in Tampa soon!
we got two good rains today in Bradenton. much needed
You have def made me spend more and take my time to calculate what I need to put down. About time to cancel my treatment plan with a local company that does a not so good job
I use vendors to get most of my lawn care products. Site one, Central and other local vendors.
Thanks for your guidance
Nice job on the video buddy can not get any malorganite up here in Nor cal. Got my hydretain to help me through the hard drought we have been having up here keep up the hard work
Yup I’m in NorCal too hard to find. I came across 2 bags at Ace Hardware in April. Gonna be 104 degrees tomorrow
got a late start this season, I’m dropping flagship this week! Then Air8 & spoon juice!
Still rockin Milo here in the SW Chi burbs. Menards isn't carrying it anymore since they came out with their own version, but the Home De-pot still has it.
Nice trance outro, as well, sir!
🔥🔥Allyn, if anyone can bring the church lawn back to life, it's YOU! Btw, I purchased some of your products and can't wait to use them. The hydretain was sold out. Any idea when you'll restock it?
Remember the veterans that died for our Country!!!! 🇺🇸 the silent enemy is trying to destroy it but hopefully "the best is yet to come!". Thank you all Veterans!!!!!!!!
Pro tip: lurk more.
@@dauntae24 I'm on here frequently. I hope you will continue to comment.
@@spartanchirho cool bro. The punisher is super cool. So badass.
@@dauntae24 you called me a blowhard?
Looks like the new fert is Freedom Factory inspired with the red, white & blue color scheme on the bag and the bald eagle heads for the “when to apply” section. 👍🏼
Bummed that I won’t get to try out the new product before the blackout period comes.
What warm season grass would you say is the best for the dry/drought or rather which one holds up the longest?
quick question, I am working 9n a zoysia lawn here in Houston, we had 10 days of rain and the zoysia got pythium/dollar spot, I treated it on friday, how long should I wait before fertilizing to green it back up ?
Hi Allyn. Question. If my lawn is a mix of fine and tall fescue. I should use the low amount when applying Prodamine? Quite a difference in rates from fine to tall fescue? Im battling poa and think aheah for fall battle. Stay safe, stay well. And thank you.
Finding Milo where I am.. just doesn't happen.. but based on all the stuff you have given me, a suitable replacement nutrient wise.. was pretty simple to find
I hope you cleaned up your skid marks in my warehouse!
yoyu better be prepared to work overtime on Tuesday lol
@@Thelawncarenut I have a feeling I'll be real sick Tuesday morning.
@@Brettsgrasscapades cough 😷 cough 😆
I’m sure Milo is great and all, but I just can’t justify paying for it. I’m in south Louisiana, and when it’s even available, it’s almost $15 a bag. Considering that will only cover 2,500 square feet, I can’t go that route for my 15k square feet.
yep same here. I am going to use a local product here in NJ it is the same stuff as Milo and it is 9 bucks a bag.
Just ordered Freedom !
Using the electric zero turn I bet the smell of grass is crazy strong !!! Sick mower !!!
This is what happened to my neighbors lawn (Church Lawn). Dormancy and huge spots of it all over. I believe it's a watering issue as well. It used to have tons of weeds but it's just dying all over. Even the beautiful Salvia plant that mormally blooms deep pink flowers, looks like a tumble weed now 😔.
