I am now almost 47 years old. And I find the toys of my childhood with admiration and a happy nostalgia!
I received two boxes full of my childhood Master of the Universe figures and was sad to see that all of their legs were on the verge of falling off. It makes me extremely happy to see that I can repair the legs and pass these down to my boys (who were just as excited as I was to open the boxes).
I have now fixed about 10 figures using this method and it is SO easy now. I am very glad I found this channel.
Awesome, fix I definitely need to get some rubbers to repair a few of mine!
If I only would known this when I was a kid... Well, better later than never.
Love your content on restoring vintage figures! I've just saved my vintage Man-E-Face from the garbage bin. Looking forward to more great videos
Made it look so easy.
Thank you
You are amazing at fixing these toys. Love your channel!! A+++
Thanks.
Very good! I have some loose legs that may need this treatment soon enough
Thanks, I was looking for a while for an option to motu bands and your idea looks to be exactly what I was looking for!
Off to B&Q to buy O-Rings...
Sweet video, glad X-Robots introduced me to your channel.
Hi Toofuturetv, No problem. Glad it's useful. I suggest getting the O-rings from ebay. B&Q charge way to much and you only get a couple. That huge bos I have cost about £4 from eba including postage!
I'm going to echo the crowd here. Wish you were around when I was a kid. I lost many a MOTU figure.
Thank you very much! My Hordak can now stand on his feet. First time I fix MOTU legs and it was very easy with your video.
With original rubber bands approaching 40 years old…you most certainly will need to do this on your original guys.
Nice repair job!!! Fortunately the legs on my figures never broke off but the original rubber material did tend to get stretched out. As a result the figs would not stand as well.
+Geerladenlad That is a common problem. No way to fix it apart from taking them off completely.
An excellent guide video. I only hope that I'm never faced with the need to do this. ;-)
Nice tutorial, i used this to fix it up some legs of my motu collection and it works perfectly! Thank you! ;)
Nice one.
Yes brilliant mate! I have two MOTU figures that need fixed like this and I just knew you'd have a helpful demo on how! Thank you :D
Glad to help! Get then legs back on!
My he-man's leg joints are really bad. I'm off to b&q for the parts tomorrow. Great video
Any advice on fixing teela, sorceress, evil lyn figs which have much smaller leg holes and waist size?Smaller O rings?Smaller Hooks?
I used to say "The only thing that can not be repaird in this world are broken MASTERS OF THE UNIVERSE legs". I guess I won't be saying that anymore!
oooh so that is how you do it the proper way... I just Orcishly glued it together...
What size o ring did you uses?
Great video, I found some of my old he-man figures and one has busted legs. Going to try this later.
+Brian Kelly Good luck. it's easy to do.
Brilliant video. Thanks
Hi, Toy Polloi. Could you please tell us the exact size/dimensions of "cup hooks" you use? I want to make sure I buy the precise size I need so I can repair the legs on some of my He-Man figures. Thanks in advance!
Wish I knew this back in '82
This is a great repair idea! Too bad I didn't know this trick to repairing these figures when I was a kid. I tossed a lot of them that got broken legs.
Thank you for making this video. It is much appreciated!
No problem. Hope it helps you out.
I did this, and it works very well. Great video!
i've tried several times and they are never tight. the step i didn't know about was doubling up the oring. I will give it another crack
You can either use two o-rings or just one larger one and twist it in half. All mine have ended up nice and tight.
Wow, awesome! Thanks for the info
Very neat ...Great video...
Does this method also work with MOTU figures Made in France? The leg band of my He-Man is "integrated" into the leg. I'm not sure I can screw the hook deep enough into the leg as the leg is "flat" on the top and does not have a joint socket like the one shown in the video. He-bands don't seem to work here.
Always amazing tips
Sweet
Look e bay .
They sell the rubber junction new.
I will attempt my first fix today
chris ward Good luck. This is a pretty easy thing to do, a bit of practice at first, but easy to get the hang of.
This helped me fix about 15 figures now, i like this way better to fix the legs instead of the motu bands. You can screw the hooks further for more stable figures. Great video 👍🏻 thx for sharing
Thank you!
I bought a vintage Spikor from eBay, and his left leg came of when unpacking it.
Merci pour cette vidéo très bien expliquée !
Anybody knows if this method works with commemorative figures? It seems Mattel changed the internals of the groin section so the regular legband replacement are too long for the commemorative figures
Do you have a video on cleaning vintage MOTU figures?
A video for sticky MOTU figures?
Thanks 👍
Wash then with hot soapy water. Do not submerge them as they have a metal spring inside. Use a toothbrush to clean the harder to reach parts. And a magic eraser if there are stubborn marks. Cheers
Great fix!
Perfect!!! Not sure if you figured out how to fix this alone or saw in another place, but it's really impressive! Thanks for share/teach! Also, do you consider that's a good idea to replace those figures that still have the original rubber but can't barely stand or the position of legs aren't straight anymore? Please, let me know your thoughts and well done for your channel!
Fixing them is up to you. If its rare I wouldn't. if its a common figure I don't see the problem.
What about motu figures that are not typical like hurricane hordak?
How do I actually got a question for anyone on here that would be able to help me out. I recently acquired an old He-Man figure 1981. I don't recall ever seeing them on any other He-Man, but the one I have has three distinctive dimples on his back, resembling the shape of a triangle. Is this just a manufacturing defect, or is this a later adaptation for a different version
super great!
hi im having trouble finding screw hooks/screw eyes and o rings that are all the right size would you be able to send me a link for them
+frodo 9000 I bought all mine from ebay. There are plenty for sale there.
A looks great TP ;) TNX
Does this method apply to the female figures such as Evil Lynn and Teela as well?
pretty neat!
Hello Toy Polloi, I have a vintage skeletor in some bad shape. It seems his legs are sticky and in this grimey looking state.
Hello, I am a young transformers collector just starting and was wondering if there was a way to tighten loose pins on transformers. I got a generations deluxe Waspinator with extremely loose knee pins and was hoping for advice, thank you for reading and keep on as I have found your guides and reviews exceedingly useful.
Take a look at my video: Fix it Guide - Stiffening loose limbs on Transformers G1 figures. PTFE tape works well on most loose joints.
Toy Polloi Unfortunately the knee pins are not accessible to be wrapped with tape, the pin goes through the bottom of the thigh where about half a centimeter of the upper thigh surrounds the pin completely.
now im going to fix my ninjor!
illu322 - Executive Order 11110 is Ninjor from Power Rangers Zeo?
É o mesmo problema dos comandos em ação quando não arrebenta a borracha quebra esse gancho onde vai a borracha.
thank you !!!
Help! He-man Broken arm socket! How we can fix it? HELP!!!
hello, is there repair/replace instruction for tytus arms?
@Bitch Titters Tytus. Heroic giant
Hi Toy Polloi? Actually is this the best (and the only one) method to repair the MOTU joints legs, or there are someone else method ?
See you next time
+davide mosciaro It's the best way to fix them. I am working on some other ideas, but this really works very nicely.
ok thank you for you disponibilty. I'm searching for others ways without put somenthing else that doesn't belong to MOTU structure (i'm referring to the screweys), therefore the motu remaines original without stranger pieces of the structure. Thank you mighty friend
Genious!
Where you buy the o rings and The hoock
Ebay has loads of sellers
Hey poli what're your thoughts on the new he man series coming to Netflix
Not really looked into it. I don't have Netflix so it will probably pass me by.
Any advice on how to make sure the screw lines up in the old rubber?
I fixed a Webstor almost perfectly... but because the screws aren't "right" the legs aren't symmetrical and I can't get him to stand.
So tight legs, yay... but he can't stand.
+Matt Strawbridge a bit if practice. Just go slowly when you start fixing the hook in.
I bought a couple of He-man figures in a flea market a couple of weeks and I noticed that the detached legs don't have any of the old rubber in there anymore. Can I put some kind of stuff to replace the old rubber and do the repair thing? Or it isn't necessary?
+Josean Nieto It won't make any difference. Just screw the hooks into the hole in the leg top.
Come riparare un Mosquitor?? Motu vintage 87
Amazing :-O
Does anyone have a link for 10 mm/1 cm hooks, please? I can't seem to find any. I've bought some before but can't find where I bought them from. Thanks!
I would use he-bands these days. It's a much better fix. ua-cam.com/video/eJfEibRQIWM/v-deo.htmlsi=A5ZXIVBcSP4zN20c
@@toypolloi Thank you! If nothing else I can give up on the search for the right hooks! Thanks for the video too!
What's the thickness of the o-ring you're using? Great vid btw.
3mm, anything around that will work.
I can fix my he-man,did not last a month once I got him on ester Friday but yes he can be fixt
would you know how to fix the battle armor on the battle armor he man?
+Jim Bennett I've not filmed it. But I know how to do it. There is a website that covers it.
Hello, is there a possibility to fix Fisto power punch?
Yes, usually with him the small arm spring gets stretched or knock out of alignment. It does require taking the chest apart to get to the internals. Which is tricky if you've never taken one apart before.
Any ideas on repairing Beast Man's shoulder pads if the strap ball broke off?
+kory hodge Post some pictures on my Facebook page and I'll see if i can think of anything.
Thanks for replying.. Got it fixed with some silicone. Posted a pic on your Facebook.
Great video. Any suggestions for Hurricane Hordaland? The pelvic region is different than standard motu figures.
+t00lnin Does this have the later style waste like Terror claws skeletor?
+Toy Polloi yes.
+t00lnin If I find a broken one I will take a look.
+Toy Polloi Awesome, thanks!
I tried it but don’t know why it seems not working maybe my hooks are too big (3/4 inches) my O ring is (3 centimeters)
Can you help me Dave?
I have newer videos that use He-bands. I use those all the time. Haven't done this technique in years. Cheers
Ah ok I will check on ebay thanks for the tip
My Faker and Prince Adam are very happy now. Adam needs a new belt and Faker needs a new chest sticker. Any ideas how to take of that?
+William Thompson Check out my video on Faker for the sticker ua-cam.com/video/VdFaqjxPjwo/v-deo.html

Hey toy polloi need your help. I have a he man battle armor figure. But the legs are disconnected... The legs are together though. I don't think it has hooks. Any help?
+JosephProductions Send me a picture of what you have via my Facebook page. Not sure how you have that situation.
I actually got it fixed with some glue. But thank you for the respond!
Dave, any fix to replace the arms? My He Man has missing fingers on his sword arm , I have a donor.
+Jonathan Rowlands You can just pop the arms off and swap them. Not sure what else you would need to do?
Ahh , didnt know it was that simple, didnt want to break them trying. Cheers.
Doesn't it devalue the toy
The toy is already broken. So is it worth more broken or fixed?
how do i fix loose vintage motu arms?
Watch my video on fixing loose limbs on star wars figures. Use the same technique.
Belated reply, but...
Since you can remove the arms, I'd paint some clear nail polish onto the arm posts, making them slightly thicker. Let it go hard (several hours) and then the arms should be much tighter.
Cyclops must have been made with poor rubber connectors. Everyone I have seen has broken or bowed legs.
Do you also fix dragon ball z sh figures? :(
It's not a toy line I have looked into. Post some pictures on my Facebook page and I can have a look.
still got my he-man I bet his legs have gone bad scared to check
+Toy Polloi ill have to go check him out plus crenger if I spelt that right least his legs are fixed lol
I feel a little weird watching someone fumbling TriKlops' groin like this.
Alright cx
If you turn the legs too much in the proper direction your legs can screw off. This fix is more for a display piece than a toy. Best to put some crazy glue on the hook you screw in. Just sayin.
