    Use a piece of string. When getting ready to put the new connector threw the waist part, tie string to the head, then pull it through. Easier then using pliers.

    Hey buddy, thanks for the video. I have fixed a few of these in my collection and just thought I would give a few pointers. If you boil some water and soak those legs in a cup of water for about 30 seconds. Then you don't have to do as much poking and prodding. Also if you fish a piece of twine behind that piece that it has to go behind. You can make a loop and pull it through. I also found hemostats to be a little bit easier on the rubber. Just thought I would share what I learned by experience. Thanks for the video

    I repaired my vintage Stinkor and two Spikor's last week.
    The hardest thing is getting the old rubber "mushrooms" from the legs.
    I also gave the Stinkors' rubber spike armors a much-needed puff of silicone spray while at it.
    TIP: A drop of silicone spray in the leg holes and a little puff on the leg connector itself works wonders and makes the repairing proces so much smoother.
    Then when you position the legs on the table, the leg connector will just slide and bend into position inside the "fur shorts", thus eliminating the possibility of tension on the legs when the figure stands.

    I can recommend using a hair dryer or hot water and you can heat up the legs and rubber to make the job easier, it's less likely that'll crack the legs and it's so much easier to put together, it can take around 5 minutes if you do it this way

    I would imagine that after 36 years the old rubber connectors have frayed. My He-Man has completely detached and he is a project for myself to do.
    You have the patience of a saint BTW - had that been me I'd have been swearing like a sailor. And imagine breaking the other side once looped through to the other leg.

    I think the o-ring and eyelets give you nice control over how tight you want the legs to be. Also if you can’t get all the old rubber out, you just drive the eyelet through it.

  • @figuenew
    @figuenew 3 роки тому +1

    Lol the way I used repaired them is by driving some small nails (like little spikes) on the top of the legs (by where the old broken rubber band remained) and tighten them with at least two regular rubber bands, and it worked for me!
