Most people don't know him for the same reason most don't know the great Teddy Riner, who's rin in Judo has been every bit as dominant - Greco and Judo just aren't popular in the US. Riner was France's Olympic torch bearer and is worth $250mil from mainly endorsements in France, and unless you play Judo here in the states or follow all combat sports, you have no clue who he is. I was in Paris last summer and saw two billboards with him on it, and I guarantee Lopez has the same treatment in Cuba.
I guarantee you everyone in Cuba knows who he is, and many more people in nations where Greco is popular.

When i was 11 taking shito Ru Karate in 80s.. the schools master died he was 10th degree. And lived in Japan and was Japanese. Our man instructor was Demetri and met the master in Japan during leave in the Korean war. And the master and him became friends and in 70s that's how Demetri got the school. Well when the master died his oldest son from Japan come to America with a group he was a 7th degree. And wanted to pay his respect to Demetri in person. For his dad's friendship and Demetri looked over the schools they planted in the midwest. Cincinnati area. The son brought a judo master. A old man like 50. Lol I was 11. Lol that Judo man beat every blackbelt in our school with ease.. he threw them all to ground. As a kid I remember the power of the sound of the blavkbelts hitting the mats. After that night I started looking for a judo school. There was only 1 within 30 miles and it was a Korean guy. And he didn't take students until 16 years old. So I quit Karate that month knowing it wasn't going to help me fight when needed. And it was not fun doing kotas all class. So I joined the wrestling team in middle school like 6 months later.. if all that didn't happen I would of wasted years in Karate class. Doing katas.. now in Cincinnati area you can learn anything I here.

Even including Rulon Gardner who was two times the size of old man karelin(at this time) and a highly accomplished wrestler in his own right was taught how to manipulate this new rule put in for him by dan gable himself. Of course Rulon admitted this years later. Of course this new rule which made zero sense that they never ever used before was immediately removed.

I'm pretty sure Cyril Gane was just there to let the UFC hand the HW belt to Jon Jones. He did not even put out the effort to spar and did not even suffer any discomfort. It was a very necessary thing to get that belt on Jon Jones so he could help the UFC create a big "Deontay Wylder sized money fight" that Jones and Dana were seeking. Once he had the belt, Jones kept finding Ngannou outside the ring and challenging him to come back and fight for it. That would have required Ngannou to resign with the UFC. When Ngannou made it clear that his interest was in a larger share of the fights vs a larger fight, the UFC was stuck with a shitty HW champion that had no business being there. The pay set-up is to be the champ and defend the belt for the really big money. The only way they could do that with Jon Jones being the 2st LGBQT fighter at HW and a good name that would not just stomp Jones's ass in the 1st round was to match him up against a good name that was in the retirement age. Cyril's fight against Ngannou proves he could last more than 2 minutes, before tapping to a polite presence.

They are saying consecutive golds and different Olympics too...if you're the best swimmer and swimming has 35 events (it does) you will won more golds...not rocket science

There is no incentive for the company itself, to keep it straight 100% if you can make more money with some fixing.

What is this Guy Saying?? If he is talking about MIJAIN (Not Milan)LÔPEZ, then give more proof. Which matches he lost? Which competitions? Was it behind close doors??Yes, he is possibly the Greatest olympian of all time and he has won 5 consecutive gold medals. He is arguably the biggest Cuban athlete of all time. I think the reason that he is not that known is because he stuck to his principles of remaining in Greco-Roman wrestling and did not defect or compete in other pay day circus fights. As I requested, can you give solid evidence??

I'm a big fan of Chimaev so I want to see him fight more, and of course, win the title, but he has some issues which are worrying and I don't know if he would be a good champion.
Whittaker, Dricus and Strickland are all boring to watch for me. I don't have a preference from the three of them who is the champion, I probably wont watch their fights.
Adesanya is interesting to watch, I'll watch his fights whether he is the champion or not, and I like that he used to fight regularly.
