You’ve touched on the Jones fight before, I believe you said, “I had a lot questions about John and he answered them all once we locked up”. I loved the way you phrased it. As wrestlers we love to put our hands on people and see how they feel, move, strength. It only takes a few seconds to lock horns with someone and realize, “This is not going to go my way”. Another funny example is joe Rogan playing with Mark Coleman and Mark deciding to show joe who the alpha was.
Yeah that's not what happened. Mark Coleman essentially tried to bully Joe Rogan, Joe at one point pulled a simple arm drag, very playful and light, and Coleman immediately uses full strength to push the much smaller man into a corner of a wall. The whole time Joe didn't want any of it.
Mark was being a drunk bully, nothing alpha about that mate. Got issues if you can’t properly have a grip of your ego and you have to result in taking it that step further against a smaller guy that didn’t want it in the first place

Just want to point out the rounds are very important for the livelihood of MMA. They help with both pacing of the event so it is both friendly for the audience and advertisers. It allows it to be easily split up especially for judges, especially in the beginning, that don’t know how to quantify what they are seeing.(still don’t know imo) And most importantly what keeps most sports going now a days makes it more likely for people to bet on it which is a large amount of people who would otherwise not take interest in it.
Great questions, great answers. My favorite all time division is also LHW but currently it’s the welterweight division without a doubt: Usman, Colby, Chimaev, etc..
IMHO, the reason it changed to timed rounds was most likely due to "lay n pray" grapplers. Shortened rounds and stand 'em up rules formed because of the lack of action brought about by this style.
True. I think the current time for the rounds is a good balance for the grapplers to work their trade and the strikers to get it done. Grappling is an important part of mma and sometimes that takes time.

Jesus got the chance for Chael to touch his board. What an honor.
Just want to point out the rounds are very important for the livelihood of MMA. They help with both pacing of the event so it is both friendly for the audience and advertisers. It allows it to be easily split up especially for judges, especially in the beginning, that don’t know how to quantify what they are seeing.(still don’t know imo) And most importantly what keeps most sports going now a days makes it more likely for people to bet on it which is a large amount of people who would otherwise not take interest in it.
we saw what happened with no rounds when royce gracie held everyone in guard for an hour
"My life has been an assortment of regrets". I feel you, Uncle Chael.
"Treat my ass like a pin cushion" just out right admitting he did steroids before fighting Jones
he has many times, he doesnt hide it at all, a popluar line of his is "im 44 but look 24 due to steroids and growth hormone"

@@calvindevries Love the honesty
@@calvindevries that's hilarious because it can age your face instead, but if uncle Chael says it, it's truth.

BOOM! There it is everyone 0:53 "There ain't five of them that could beat me" HELL YEAH UNCLE CHAEL!
Great questions, great answers. My favorite all time division is also LHW but currently it’s the welterweight division without a doubt: Usman, Colby, Chimaev, etc..
Chael Sonnen Undefeated Undisputed The Real Goat😤🐐
I love how passionate chael is with every question. No matter how interesting or not that great a question. Lol
You’re an awesome guy, Chael.
Your truly blessed Chael! And we all are blessed to be able to hear your takes on literally anything, and it’s fascinating to hear! 🙏
Thank you Chael for reading the questions. It's very helpful for those of us that are active whilst listening to you.
“That’s not the hill I’m gonna die on” …another one for the people from the bad guy!
I would give anything to have a conversation with Chael. He has always been my favorite fighter. Wise, extremely intelligent and funny as hell.
We all fucking love you Chael! It would be a boring world without the bad guy!
Jon jones also wants no part of Chael, he's never recovered from that toe injury.
