Booker T is an absolute gentleman. I worked for him and Sharmell at a comic con taking the money for then and they tipped me £100. I said that we weren't meant to take tips, and Sharmell said that "we're hard working people and you've worked hard today. You've earned it and take it". Lovely people

I ran into Devon at a Walgreens in Merritt Island, FL on Christmas Day 2012. He was super nice, I had both of my young sons at the time that were huge wrestling fans. He talked with them for 20 minutes and took photos with them. Again it was Christmas and he was running in to grab one item but still took time away from his family to talk with my sons. Amazing down to earth guy.

Booker T won every single match against Triple H up to Wrestlemania for the build up. There's even a match where Him and Scott Stiner beat Evolution in a 2 vs 4. The general rule of thumb: Whoever wins the build up matches loses the PPV match. Triple H can't lose every single match against booker T man. The mistake they made was, if they were gonna have the Heel go over at wrestlemania, then Booker should have lost all the build up matches.

Right. Even if he was champion for a month like they did Randy. They was going to find a way to make Triple H champion again, anyway. So it was definitely bold that they let HHH win. Because him winning was their way of saying that Triple H was absolutely right about everything that he said in his promos. Which sent out the wrong message.

The counter-argument will always be that black people have reclaimed the power that word has from white people that would say it with malice. It's a real phenomenon with lots of different oppressed groups of people in thay they take the racial/homophobic slurs used against them and repurpose them in their favor. The ideology is the same as when a bully would call you "fat" or "ugly," in that if you just lean into the insult, the power those words have against you in a demeaning sense are nullified. It still isn't an excuse or invitation for the bully to still use those words without repercussions. So yeah, rap those words in your car alone all you want...but try it in public and the consequences are yours to handle should they arise.

I wonder what D-Von's opinion is when the Dudley Brothers wrestled with Taijiri and Funaki. In the middle of the match, Bubba Ray went on to the second rope and was about to jump on Funaki. Taijiri walked towards Bubba Ray to distract, but Bubba Ray gave Taijiri a Buddhist praying gesture and mocked him with mimicking of Asian expression. While HHH's promo against Booker T attracted shock and bit of outrageousness, Bubba Ray's gestures and mimick attracted laughter from the audience, which showed two opposite responses - racist promo against a Black wrestler is shocking and offensive, while racist mockery against an Asian wrestler is "funny." Like Booker T lost to HHH despite HHH's racist promo, Taijiri and Funaki lost to the Duddley Brothers despite Bubba Ray's racist mockery.

As a non native english speaker and a certified white-boy, I always looked at the "n-word debacle" with a lot of confusion and I thank D-Von for expressing his opinion about it, because it makes a lot of sense to me. Growing up, to me it was a random word that the characters called each other in GTA:SA, I was only aware of what it meant, and that it was offensive, years later.
So, to me, watching from outside, I respected it, but it was extremely confusing when I heard someone say "rappers can use it, but not white people, cause it is different", and when I saw Kendrick Lamar scolding a white fan that went on stage to sing his own lyrics. I feel like (and, I am just stating my outsider opinion, I am aware that I should not have any saying in this at all) we should not have a double standard, since double standards are, imo, a core principal of racism.
I seriously hope this is not a controversial opinion, I hate talking about this subject, but I was really happy that D-Von basically said what I always thought.
