The ds Era had the best music, hands down. Gens 4 and Gens 5 were HUGE stepping stones in pokemon, so it makes sense that music would be good, but DS music isn't just "Good", it's Amazing!
I want real towns to have themes so I can listen to this

Dude fr I remember playing this game the week it came out on my ds and I still have my same save file from then, over 500 hours on it and I still go back and fight the elite 4 and relive the memories

One of the best town themes in the game.
Right in the nostalgia
I was never able to play crystal until a year ago, but it instantly became my favorite pokémon game. I loved most of the town/city themes.
Despite never playing it prior, it just felt as if it was a nostalgic feel. I always took a break when i would reach a town, to take in the music for just a moment.
Hearing how they sound in this remake just fills me with joy, though, I think I prefer how they sound in the original. something about it.
Anyways, I will be playing these remakes very soon, and I am excited!
Yeah, HGSS is really good. My sis lent me her copy of SS, and its amazing. I love the music, how smooth the gameplay is, etc. I have Gold, Crystal, and Soul Silver, but I can’t decide which is better.
HG/SS definitely one of the best games along side Black and White 2
I grew up playing the gen 5 games, and only about a year ago did I finally play soul silver and it's been honestly tied for 2nd best pokemon games along with black for me, there's always something to just waste time on, I have over 100 hours in the game and I haven't even beaten the elite four yet!

Having no exact reason, but when I listen to this BGM, I LIKE to CHANGE PITCH to be +3 !!! (from B to D Major.)
Most of the tracks in Pokémon are in D major, for some reason.

A the only outliers are:
-Vermilion city (D major)-
Lavender town (idk, probably atonal)
Pd: Original vermilion city actually is A major
Modifying music like that can cause lots of artifacting, especially in the un-pitched instruments.
@@Whatismusic123 not really, i usually shift to -1 (to sound like island 6 and 7) and never had a problem with it

I think I get why I couldn't feel at home with the HGSS version... the melody at the beginning was an octave higher resulting in a brighter feel in contrast to the melancholic tone of the original
On the contrary I think this song conveys how the town is portrayed in HGSS. The rhythm and scales in which they chose to compose really goes hand in hand with how walking around the town feels. There's still some melancholy but it's less obscured by how thematic the town is now

So, we’re in Generation 9, right? I started asking myself. What region needs a remake next? And then I remembered something. Violet City. VIOLET. Hello!? Incidentally, Pokémon Violet is future themed, so the Johto-Paldea connection could have been even stronger if this was “Scarlet City” instead, since Johto is more traditional and Kanto is more modern.

*For Gold Silver Series, there is NO Night-time music at all. (Except VS Wild Pokemon only in GSC.)*
there were never nighttime themes for towns and cities in HGSS that was only 4 DPP at the time
