Sam, I worked for Audi here in Canada for a while. The star button on the steering wheel you can set for a bunch of different things. As a source button, heated steering wheel, and such. Should help with the issues inside!

My order which deposited on Feb 2022 is now finally in production 7th week of 2023. I am just curious what would happen when I pick up the car? Would they charge me extra than the final amount on the order form? Is it worthy to buy extra warranty and maintainance like Audi care?

Looking forward to the next search for “my daily”!! I don’t have any experience with this car and from the comments the people who are lucky enough to own them really seem to love them. For the price tag, fuel economy it doesn’t do it for me as a daily car but great to see your honest journey as an owner and whether it stays or not the content is always great to watch.

One thing I learnt about my rs6 was how much mileage and fuel I wasted dailying in London. Thats when a car like this makes sense

I tried both the RS6 and the M5 Competition before buying, the M5 felt (and is faster), better interior IMO (not all touch screens) and importantly feels like an event every time you get in, the RS6, just like you said just felt a bit bland to drive (but looks great).

I have to say, as a long time lurker i've been inspired to provide a comment on this video.
You have been really transparrent about your actual usage of the car and how it makes you feel, both good and bad. I find that actually very refreshing. Not everything is perfect and i suspect if i was to purchase a car of that value, i wouldnt want to sour the moment by not mentioning certain things that might grind my gears.
I think it continues to speak to your humility (lennys posh comments to one side) about buying and running your cars. But also all the cars you come across in your path. I tend to find your reviews quiet "real", a weird phrase to use on the internet. But you do it in an elegant way.
Well, thats me finished blowing smoke, however, i do feel its worth providing positive comments when its warrented (as negitive comments generally come a lot easier to some people).
    All the best.

I would definitely go through all the driver settings and see if you can get closer to what you expect the car should feel like. If not, check with your dealership and see if there is some sort of update or flash the car needs. If both of those don't work, then it's probably your perception is a bit off on what to expect with a car like this. As mentioned, you could do an aftermarket tune, which could help liven things up, but will likely remove your drivetrain warranty. Which on a very pricey Audi RS model is probably something you don't want to lose.

However, the "numbness" of the car could be fixed by a simple tune which will wake the car up. Also, a tune makes the car much more efficient and hence it will help with the fuel economy partly, but most importantly it will make the car a bit more lively and punchy. I have a nardo grey RS6 that's had both the ECU and TCU tuned (Stage 4 for race fuel), lowered suspension, custom exhaust with high flow cats and custom intakes and intercoolers. Most ballistic experience I've ever had. The car accelerates with such ferocity that it feels like it's doing a wheelie, entire front end lifts and your facing the sky while being catapulted down the road. Strongly recommend the custom tuning otherwise your missing out on much of the car's potential.

I always wondered what it would be like to take an Audi to ABT, maybe they can both tune it more aggressively in sport mode and make the regular mode more economical

@@seenthroughglass It might be worth for you to talk to MTM as well if you're considering some broader enhancements. Think they would be able to refine the gearbox as well, not only the power output and suspension. Never had a car there myself, but for some reason they would be my choice over Abt if I ever own a proper Audi..

Hi Sam, in regards to the numbness your experiencing in the RS6 I’ve noticed recently you put E10 fuel in the cars and not VPower, is there a reason for this? I drive with aV Power in my car and I’ve noticed a difference in my car. With E10 my car feels numb but with the V Power the car feels more awake, just something to think about. Also what mode in the RS6 are in when you feel this numbness?

Hey Sam..I'm also trying to persuade myself that the issues you are having, which are the same as mine are surmountable.
The throttle seems very laggy sometimes as does the engine..I was driving yesterday in full fat rs mode and it kept climbing to 6th gear even at 30mph...whereas today it seemed to be sticking to much lower gears at much higher speeds.?? Sometime half the throttle results in nowt...sometimes a small movement gives you much more after a seconds delay....all feels very disconnected, however the steering is great for an Audi.
I also cannot get over how slow it feels when going fast but also acceleration feels slower than my 335d. I think a chip will hopefully resolve a lot of this as otherwise it'll have to go. On a good note I managed 26mph on the motorway, also my car has the heated steering wheel button just below the climate control. Best drive mode seems to be 'dynamic' in the settings but not sure which options that selects for the RS menu as I can't seem to replicate it.
Finally...how do you turn off the orchestral symphony that plays every time I start the car??

What about an APR tune? Their tune may change the engine characteristics and make it more lively. As you said, doesn’t need more power but I guess that’d change it. Also afaik they do some gearbox „tunes“ too.
And I’d do chrome / silver wheels, that’d look quite nice even with all the black details.

Fuel economy- I was told by someone in Munich when you go to test drive new cars that you should run the car in individual mode rather than Dynamic if you want to drive aggressively.
Heated steering wheel and Radio - Audi you have to teach the MMI system your voice somewhat it will struggle in the beginning and also if you have the sunroof open.

Having had multiple BMW and Audi models I absolutely agree on some of the flaws you've mentioned that I think are typical of all Audi models. They're just seem to be designed to be slightly dim-witted, the gearbox in particular always unresponsive, and navigating the infotainment to do a simple task always seems to be a pain, and I've never got used to it. I think the M3 Touring will be an incredible shout for the inevitable RS6 replacement at some point! 🤔

My MX5 (2 litre ND2 181bhp) gets 14-18mpg on track days, 32-38mpg around town and 45-50mpg on motorways. Can't compare the cars but I think you can compare the fun factor. Single digit fuel economy at g-wizz speeds is hard to swallow. I believe you're spending more on E5 even when you consider a 1-2% increase in economy. I hope you enjoy it, although once the novelty wears off I think the fuel bills will make you want something else.
