me thinks there is potential for a second DLC. someone made a case to say that there's two "ring" emotes that look as though they fit in the symbol of the elden ring rune. Shadow of the Erdtree introduced us new weapons, it's possible we may see either new weapon types in a second DLC, or a few additions to the new weapon types.
Footwork has a slight edge over Dryleaf Arts because it benefits from Shattered Stone Talisman has most of its moveset is kicks, so if you want to squeeze out an extra 10% out of it.
The drawback of Palm Blast is that it's very telegraphed, so most people aren't gonna run straight into it in a one-on-one setting. Great for PVE and chaotic invasions, though.
@@JudgeNicodemus No, not really. I know some people do get hit with it, but again, there aren't THAT many in the arena who would. Not saying they don't exist, there just aren't enough to make it practical to rely on.
People have already mentioned the shattered discus talisman for extra damage for dane's footwork but I believe there's a leg piece from some of the horned warriors which also give you increase kick damage.
fromsoft said the new weapons were a high point of the dlc i think. they’re cool weapons but damn they only added 2 of the most unique weapon class we’ve seen so far
I think the martial arts are somewhat more understandable in regards to that issue because keep in mind that the only real way to differentiate them from each other is for each one to have an entirely or at least mostly unique moveset.
@aidanhayes3571 the poison and madding hand could've both used the basic Dryleaf moveset with their unique AoWs and properties. I don't think qnyone would've complained.
Honestly, these are so good. Using a new mage character, i used these to one-shot the malformed sentinal in farum azula without casting magic (cold affinity) and using the whirlwind. I was absolutely stunned that i'd managed that.
For everyone interested in the pve potential of this weapons just know that dryleaf whirlwind can stun lock enemies like banished knights or basically any knight and also small bosses like malenia although she can dodge it
So far I've had the most fun by running both arts, one with the whirlwind kick/cold and the other with poison/athletes foot bloom kick, and switch off between the two to keep them on their toes.
I really recommend if you use whirlwind to use a bleed build with it, and also use shard of Alex, Mels hand, exaltation, and shattered stone with the multi hit cracked tear. Shattered stone talisman only works on martial moves that use feet, and oddly enough the blooms twice ashe of war. I've gotten a lot of multi hits against aggressive duo/trio's because of its wide arcs and it really ramps up the damage in one cast, especially if bleed proc's which usually happens after a solid hit with the ashe of war. I'm posting a build on it this week for the footwraps :) also the hand wraps have less poise, and range compared to the footwraps but are quicker, but because of the shattered stone talisman, its really hard to debate using the handwraps vs the footwraps
ngl I wish madding hand and poison hand were hand to hand combat too. They added a weapon type that is basically fighting gloves and added two new gloves that are just a normal fist weapon. That really disappointed me
Kinda sad we didnt even get a somber one of these. My biggest fantasy would've been one that was just straight Boxing lol. Let me become Dudley from Street Fighter and just box a black knight lmao.
These honestly work the best on bleed, poison, or cold infusion. Even with the best stat distribution they won’t deal a ton of damage but they attack quick enough to proc status effects in seconds. Bleed especially is pretty powerful.
The one-handed heavys of these are pretty solid by the way. The 1h running heavy is a dropkick, while the dryleaf arts 1h heavy is a side kick that has decent range.
I hope they'll add some realistic (kick)boxing hand-to-hand weapon weapons too. Kind of want just straight jabs and crosses with simple low-kicks. That would truly be the perfect quality build. No armor, only some pants and gauntlets.
A pretty strong way to build Danes Footwork is to use the Whirlwind AoW and bleed affinity. For talismans run Shard of Alexander, Lord of Bloods Exultation, Shattered Stone Talisman, and either Millicent's Prosthesis or Rotten Winged Sword Insignia. For your Physick use Thorny Cracked Tear and Bloodsucking Cracked Tear. Lastly use the Rakshasa's armor set except for the greaves, use the Divine Bird Warrior Greaves instead(yes I know they look hideous but they give a dmg boost to all kicking attacks). Have fun trying this out and let me know your thoughts on the build.
For my dryleaf arts I ran flame art with palm blast, I used it becuase the faith was nice for casting buffs, I was able to 1st try radagon and elden beast with it, and it is my favorite build I've done
I feel like the footwork should have had a small kick/stomp attack buff while the dry leaf arts got a similar buff to attacks that strike with your hands.
I wish we got the divine beast's elemental attacks in both incant and ash for form. Remembrance should've given a hand-to-hand art that was dancing lion moveset and a seal that boosted this theoretical incant type.
You missed some weapos that also count in the hand-to-hand category, also with hitboxes we confirmed that footwork has more range than normal dryleaf arts!
I do think if we got a slower Moveset that focused on strong individual attacks that did have hyper armour and good poise damage they would be all you would see in duels and I wouldn't mind
Dry leaf whirlwind can can boosted by the kicking and stomping talisman for some extra damage ( I think all of Dane’s footwork kick attacks are boosted but not entirely sure)
I absolutely love Poison Flower Blooms Twice. The benefit of Poison is that it does a lot of damage over a long period of time. However, the major drawback of Poison is that it does a lot of damage over a long period of time, but PFBT turns it into burst damage like Bleed. Also, unlike Bleed, the Poison status sticks around after it's triggered, which means talismans like Rot Exultation can't proc often, but since PFBT clears the status, they can proc repeatedly. Poison Flower Blooms Twice basically turns Poison into Bleed 2, it's fantastic.
These things work with any build as a great way to catch people off guard or stack status quick. That being said do you intend on doing a video with all the new pots eventually?
@@monkwashere Any kicks, including the light and heavy ones. Jump attacks are also kicks on both sets, so can be used well with curved sword and raptor's feathers for big damage jump attacks. And the one hand guard counter on both is also a kick if you're running a guard counter build but want a unique weapon for it. Last one is pretty niche, though. They also are very very light weapons and could do well on a Blue Dancer build.
They really don't. They apply conditions very fast, they do decent enough damage for a fast attack weapon, and they can be buffed to apply conditions even faster, do a fairly good jump attack build, or do 8k palm strikes that give you extremely high hyper armor with 25% damage reduction with 20-36 stance damage as well. They are very light weight and synergize well with Blue Dancer talisman as a result, their jump attacks are dual kicks so can benefit from not only curved sword talisman and raptor's feathers on jump attacks, they also benefit from divine bird legs and shattered stone talisman. And they do decent poise damage on top.
@@wanderer202 they just got buffed today on the poise damage so I’ll have to test. But these as a main weapon before we’re very underpowered when compared to most weapons in PvP. Because of the low poise damage/ damage on the normal attacks there was no trade potential. A close range weapon like this has to be able pressure to be respected but if someone has on heavy armor they can basically walk through 2 heavy strings and 4 light strings.
