I bought one a month ago and have only used it once to cut a small load of firewood, but I'm really impressed with it and very happy with the purchase.
the large nob by the blade bumps into wood and gets in the way and the plastic that holds the bar instead of bolts as it should have is a terrible idea.. mine broke on an up cut which made the bar and chain flop down over 4 inches.. after about 30 min of use.. these would be awesome if they had a better system for holding the bar.. such as what was used for decades already and worked well
That’s really impressive for being electric. The Stihl gas powered chainsaw that I have feels like it can cut through a division of the Russian army without breaking a sweat.
I bought the 18" EGO in June of '21 and I find no problems at all with it. The bar oil does not leak as I have read in other reviews and what I thought was a silly feature of a LED light has been useful come dusk in a dense forest maintaining trails for a John Deer Gator. I do carry extra batteries that came with other EGO tools. ( 650cfm blower and line trimmer with 5ahr batteries)
I just picked one up. Already have the Ego zero turn with 6 x 10ah batteries, the Ego push mower and the Ego weed trimmer. I plan on stealing the batteries from the riding mower when I need to do some serious wood cutting.
Electric chainsaws are wonderful compared to the days of fuel mixes, sparkplugs, various filters, exhaust, and the ever no-fun starting process. EGO makes many of the best tools in the business right now. Walmart's Hart Tools 16-inch chainsaw is buttery smooth, and their batteries are well designed. Whatever you do, do not check out EGO's new carbon fiber telescoping pole saw. YOU WILL FIND ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT!
Hey buddy, thanks for doing this video. I have come to rest on a decision to get this EGO 1804. I have a question that you can answer. I am in the Philippines, I would ship the saw over on the boat. We are 220v electric service everywhere here. Usually on something like a battery charger the equipment is rated for a range from 100-240v AC. Can you check the charger and see how it is rated and let me know?

Great to hear! I love mine
Very nice Tommy, no trees were harmed in the making of this video.
Well. Some were lol
I purchased the newer 16” version and it’s just awesome!
Nice!!

Haha we need to send more chainsaws to Ukraine then!!
I bought a 16" model. Day one, out of the box with about 50% battery, I took down and cleaned 4, 25' poplars. This saw is no joke.
I agree. It’s terrific.
Debating between the 16 or the 18 inch.

Mine died after a few month of light use.
Love my ego 650 blower. They make a great product
I agree !
I own an Ego chainsaw, mower, weed whacked, hedge trimmer and blower. Buy Stihl products you will be much happier!
This one is electric.
I just upgraded from Stihl to Ego.
I am much happier.
@@GrassrootsGardeningAshford which model did you go with?
@@TommyLGarage the little one, 16". I'm not an arborist, just want to do some low level maintenance.

It’s a great tool for sure!

Do it !!!
MIA?
Coming soon!!
Trying to decide on this or the 16 inch, any thoughts?
Depends on what you’re using it for. 18 is great for having around the house. I would go with that.
18 is $100 more but comes with a 5AH battery vs the 2.5AH so 18” seems like the better choice.
18 for sure! Dont have to bend down as far and I think it is a bit more heavy-duty
If I remember correctly, the 18" model also has a stronger motor.
@@davidfrazier5139 that’s true!
