The robot guy came up on 9:18. Love the saw I ordered one and can't wait to view it my self
I had my doubts about a battery powered chainsaw but I bought the EGO 16" 56v last week. Today I cut up a 12' 16" dia Ash log. Made 10 cuts before the battery ran out (2.5 Ah). No bogging down, chewed right through the wood). This saws great, almost no noise, instant stop, metal bucking teeth and light weight. I can't say enough good things about it.
When laying the saw on it's side; cutting wood two inches and smaller; have the chain a little tighter than you normally would. That should keep it from coming off. Just remember to loosen it after you're done with your project.
Thank you for the review. I got mine yesterday and used it today. Very happy with it. I have small to medium trees to cut and this chainsaw goes right through them. I am happy with my purchase so far.
Great to hear!
Thank you very much! I purchased a used one online, & noticed that the chain was coming off. Good to know that's a common issue!
Thanks for the thorough review.
wow this is very helpful. im waiting for my ordered 16" cordless chainsaw and this makes me feel so excited. thanks for sharing and God bless..!
Glad it was helpful!
Just bought mine last week, you won't be sorry you bought one.
I have had mine for 3 years and it is the best I wish they made a 6" handheld saw
I have no desire anymore to work hard enough to outlast my batteries. They are my clock, when they go off, so do I. Retirement is awesome.
Very good review. As a gas saw fan, I appreciate the pros and cons. I was curious about the tightening system, no doubt it's nice to have a tool free tightening system, but i wonder if that also means it isn't as tight as traditional bolt held bars causing the loosening issue. I also wonder how the system will hold up over time.
Isn't a saw I'd want, but i liked the well done honest review.
Thanks! So far it's been performing great! I will try to do a follow-up video possibly next year talking about how it's holding up. Thanks so much for watching!
What’s your opinion on the 18 inch ?
Thanks for the tips! Could you lighten the saw using the EGO backpack battery/adaptor kit?
9:21 hello tinker
Batteries really can be an issue, I make my living with these tools so I am rarely around a charger, out in the middle of nowhere cutting wood, whats worse is on cold mornings your battery life can be cut in half or worse.
Unless you're really far from the house, just keep swapping batteries on the chargers as they run out. I'm unsure why anyone would bring all their batteries outside, and deplete them all, before starting to recharge.
Can't you charge while you're using oone of them? Just rotate them through the charger? Also, what about the back pack EGO has?
My only concern is, battery is hot. I wonder how the capacity of the battery relates to the temperature. Great video 👍
Great point!
Batteries are FAIRLY expensive? The last battery I bought; cost me over half a thousand dollars!
You paid 500$ for a battery?
Whaddya gonna do? The rabbit hole is deep...
the second your chain hits the dirt, its done; keep it out of the dirt
This Ego chainsaw is one of the few battery powered saws that have metal bucking spikes. I also have the Greenworks and Dewalt chainsaws and those are plastic and I wouldn't consider them spikes.
Just got one need more batteries
I have a old school Remington electric Chain saw. No batteries, no wait time, just plug into a 110 outlet and good to go.
Battery powered works a lot better for me because I use it to trim trees at the back of my property between two fences. It did a great job and also gave me an updated battery for the mower, which was 5 years old at the time.
Wireless tools are way more convenient and don't need to be near an outlet or need huge extension cords.
I bought my Ego 16" chainsaw with a 5ah battery and it's my main battery I use with my lawnmower. It's 3 years old now and still working great.
🤣 corded power tools are so dated and clunky
I disagree with your battery assessment. If you have the Rapid charger, or the Turbo charger; three batteries should keep you in business all day.
Also; I have two 120v 4" cooling fans that I place the battery between. I let the battery sit there anywhere from fifteen minutes to a half hour; depending on how hot or big the battery is.
This greatly speeds up the charging time.
All the actual information here could be said in 3 minutes. Waste of time
Thanks for the feedback and thanks for watching, I like to give very thorough reviews on my videos and with youtube there's always the ability to fast forward or jump through any section of the video depending on what you're most interested in. I've also done shorter videoes under a minute that show summaries of my longer videos, also detailing how do maintenance on the EGO products, and other fun and informative shorts on the EGO tools including how to best store your batteries, fix the chainsaw chain and how to easily change the blade on the mover.
