    I picked up a brand new EGO CS1804 off Facebook Marketplace for $225 and it is awesome... Used it on 2 jobs so far, screw gas chainsaws...

    Excellent comparison. Also, with the larger battery, the 18-inch saw only costs $75 beyond the cost of the battery!

    I put these through their paces and cleared a small forest using a car 300w inverter to charge the batteries. You need to be sure to have 3 batteries for full days of work. One will be too hot to charge after it dies on the saw. Switch for the second then charge the first while cutting with the 3rd. You can spend $40 and put an 18” bar on the 14” saw. You are welcome

    I have the 14inch saw and seem to have a problem getting the oil through to the chain even after taking the side plate of and cleaning it all out, I did not know about the filter in the oil chamber I will the and remove that and see if thats the problem, Anyway thanks for the great video you have been a great help.

    I am wondering if all the ego chainsaws are the same? I know the 18" is capable of more rpm, more interested if this is just because of speed controller or more juice going to the motor.

    Does the 14” and 18” use interchangeable batteries. AND do either come either the 5 ft long handle to reach high up limbs or to cut out in front trees or logs ??

    The 18" is over 500 dollars up here on Canada......I really think it should have a 7.5 battery and a rapid charger. Thinking of picking one up just so I have a second 5.0 battery for my non-self propelled Select cut and having the saw would just be a bonus lol.

    Is there an on off switch for that LED light? What is a T battery? I have the three sized EGO batteries for the EGO blowers. I am only interested in the most powerful chainsaw. Can we purchase the smaller bars and use them instead of the 18" bar? Are the batteries interchangeable with all the other EGO products so we can use the largest EGO battery as well as their smallest? How does the EGO chainsaw compare with the Stihl, the Husqvarna and the Dewalt? Thanks, safe cutting 👍🏽

    • @jjgroundworks3451
      @jjgroundworks3451  4 роки тому +2

      Yes there is a switch for the lights on the top of chainsaw. Even a high and low beam setting!! All EGO Batteries are interchangeable between tools you just might not get the as long of run time with smaller batteries.
      The 18” Chainsaw is Awesome!! The 18” bar is the only one you can currently put on the CS1804 model because of the tensioning system. EGO is the #1 Rated Battery Powered Platform on the market and blows the competition out of the water!!

      @@MrHrKaidoOjamaaVKJV have an 18" and a 20" husky 455. The 455 is an animal and if going for thicker hardwood and a lot of cutting, of course i'd use that. The ego you can cut a cord easily on a 7.5a battery, delimbing and 16" cuts on a couple 50-70ft trees with 14-16" trunks no problem. By that point you'll probably want to take a break and need to add bar oil, plus move the wood around. 2 batteries will easily do 6-8hr of work, I've cut around 10 cord with the ego 18" and I'm really impressed. With the inverter and lawn mower it makes for a nice setup.

    So quick question on the 18" can u use a 14"-16" bar and even use the 10" bar from there pole saw on it? The 10" would be a great size for trimming small branches or cutting smaller logs. I like the 18", because of the speed trying to find the answer before I purchase the saw.

    • @jjgroundworks3451

      14 “ and 16” chainsaws can swap. The 18” chainsaw or 10” pole saw only have one option.

    Does the bar wiggle up and down on the 18" or the chain get too tight

    • @milesfifer171
      @milesfifer171 2 роки тому +1

      My 18" chain is WAY to tight, if I back the big nob off so its at the right tension the cover is half off and the bar falls side to side basically unusable, I have to run it with the chain way way to tight, I'm surprised smoke doesn't roll off the bar when I'm using it. Pretty crappy design, just put a normal adjuster on it like a real chainsaw or is this saw just targeted towards stupid people with no knowledge of any mechanics. They probably shouldn't be running a saw in my opinion. Lol

      @@milesfifer171 yeah I get smoke when bucking firewood. last winter I would have to jam the bar in snow to cool it off constantly. I thought I must have been doing something wrong. It would be good to see a demonstration. The Sthil UA-cam demo doesn't adequately show how to secure your wood on a saw horse and how to start and end the cut safely (in the last picture it shows the back of the instructor large and centre of the picture and a distance shot of the girl cutting, and only from the front, when he is advocating a safe standing position which you never see as the legs/whole body isn't shown). I have bought an Ego with several tools and the smaller chain saw. It would be great to see how to use it, not just the feature of the tools. Thanks.

    • @user-FishermanRick
      @user-FishermanRick Рік тому +1

      I did. I have the 18" saw. I put on a 14" bar so it would fit in backpack but it wouldn't oil the chain. I put calipers on both bars and the 14" is thinner. With the thinner 14" bar the pin on the block that screws onto the 18" bar was going in too far and blocking the oil. On the 18" bar you can see light through the oiling hole but not the 14". Since I didn't see how to purchase that block that screws onto the 18" without buying another 18" bar I drilled the 14" bars oiling hole 1/16 larger and can see light around the pin now. The holes are 1/4". In a drill press I drilled ONLY the oiling hole on the saw side 5/16 and can now see light around the pin. If you have a 18" saw and fit a smaller bar pay attention to how it oils and why not.
