This is ABSOLUTELY for me, when I move into an apartment. I can take the washer, consolidate all my gear into one tote, throw it into the back of my car (it’s a hatchback) and wash my car at a self-serve place, or maybe my new apartment complex has a water spigot somewhere I can use! Hell, I can even wash it at my job! This is great!

Justin, it fits perfectly on the end of my KOBALT utility cart. I have 20 gallons of onboard water from four military water jugs. In my setup I carry two for wheels with tap water and two for paint using distilled water. I have a washing pad area not far from my garage where I clean my car where I can roll my detailing cart out to.

Outstanding review bud. I have been using this unit for 3 months now and LOVE it. That said, I have made some changes to the gear I use: Those being: 1) gun and wand {OG Spec Mosmatic Swiveling Sprayer & OG Mosmatic Stainless Steel Bent Wand); 2 & 3) Tip (OG Spec Mosmatic Nozzle Assembly 40 degree /w 3.0 Orifice); 4) Foam Canon (Griot's Garage The Boss Foam Canon); 5) Pressure hose (50' UBERFLEX). The Power is THERE. The mobile flexibility is THERE (much like a cordless DA Polisher) and above all...gets you in the EGO eco-system product line with two awesome batteries (hence, put their blowers on your list or their shop vac.) In the end the unit...for what it offers and what it can do FAR outweighs its price; special when you touch and feel its built quality.

Great review Pan, thank you. I’m a weekend warrior living in the northeast. Admittedly I’m surprised to see so many reviews struggling for use case beyond apartments and mobile detailers. I’ve been looking to buy/build out an electric pressure washer system for my home in New England but unfortunately worry about a wall mount solution with temperatures dropping below freezing in the winter months and also worry about the amp load of a system competing with all my other electrical needs in my garage despite being a new construction home. I have lots of lights, tv, chargers, dehumidifiers, etc.
I contemplated a dedicated pressure washer cart option using an Active 2.0 or 2.3 but space can be a bit limited in my garage and basement (in the winter months). I’m not set up to wash in my garage, so I need to be prepared to do my cleaning out in a large driveway.
I have a very thorough EGO ecosystem including multiple leaf blowers for drying my cars. I just purchased the pressure washer this weekend as it gives me a very quick all season pressure washing capabilities. It’s also relatively quiet, giving me more flexibility to wash earlier in the morning or later in the day to void the process of washing in direct sunlight, the ability to potentially use warm bucket water in cold weather is also appealing.
Super excited about adding better pressure hoses and potentially shortening the distance from gun to nozzle. And there appears to be a premium foam sprayer with brass body coming in May. I’ve preordered that to see how it dispenses.
    Thanks again for the review!

It's great that EGO continues to develop products for their ecosystem. I have rented and owned a few different pressure washers over the years, with varying levels of success. Having this battery-powered option with water source portability was a big selling point for me. It allows me to reach parts of my property that would have been impossible because of the distance from a water source.
I washed a couple of cars and pressure washed the siding on my house over the last couple of days. I did experience two operational issues, however. First, the "weighted" siphon attachment floated quite a bit in my water reservoir. I had to attach a baseball bat donut weight around the bottom of the siphon (surprisingly a perfect fit) to keep it at the bottom of the bucket. The second periodic issue I had was the ego batteries flashing one red bar on both batteries. I was able to resolve by ejecting the battery, pressing the level check button which displayed green all the way around, and immediately reinserting the batteries and pressing the power button. It happened a couple of times over the two days, and I was able to resolve it the same way. If anyone has an idea about what is going on, I would appreciate the help.

Good build quality, 5A batteries really good, no problem Had this item just over 1 week, used it to clean several cars, the batteries have not needed recharging. Fantastic build quality, I would recommend this; I work as a professional car valet and I need something reliable and effective. Early days but absolutely brilliant so far. You should buy the right tool for the job. If you're cleaning a huge area of drive or a really lengthy job, don't buy a cordless! This is fantastic if used for the correct work and is a great tool.

  • @71gmonet

I think for doing spot free rinse with a 5 gallons of distilled water would be a great use of the siphon tube after the initial wash. I live in an area where my TDS is regularly over 500. Using a spot free rinse would possibly improve the longevity of the pump by also rinsing the pump during the spot free rinse. My water is so bad where I live that I am on my third pump on my gas pressure washer. That is even with using pump saver solution after I use the gas pressure washer. For car washing I have used an electric Active 2.0 and it has survived my terrible water for over a year.
Any feedback on how you guys protect your pressure washers with bad water is appreciated.

I’m a big fan of Ego. All of my lawn care equipment is from them. I also have this unit and overall I’m very satisfied with it.
I do have a couple minor complaints:
    1) I don’t like how you have to disassemble the wand to store it
    2) The speed indicator on the unit and on the gun is very hard to see in sunlight
    3) Powering down my unit is potentially bugged. When I stop washing and press the power button nothing happens. The internal fans keep going and the battery indicators are still lit. I have to wait for the fans to stop then I can hit the power button. This could be a safety feature to allow the batteries to cool down but I didn’t see anything mentioned in the manual

I did buy two 12 amp batteries. It does work well with a 3/8 hose and the MTM gun. It does create good foam with the MTM foam cannon with the 1.25 nozzle. Who is it for? Great review, Pan. Thanks for reviewing this unit. I own and have had some success with the Worx battery operated pressure washer, one of their higher GPM units, the others are not worth it for mobile detailing, IMO. While this is a completely viable option (EGO) I wonder if the money would be better spent on a portable power system, such as Ecoflow / Jackery. I feel there is better value in that solution, especially if you already own a corded pressure washer. You may get two/three vehicles done with the EGO however, depending on the model, you could go all day with a battery solution and power other items like a polisher, compressor, etc. You can attach solar as well so you are always charging and topping off in-between jobs. For mobile use, my money is on an Active 2.0 and battery system, and maybe use the Worx as a backup backup :).

Great video. I got an EGO leaf blower for Christmas. I used it more then I would have used the EGO snow blower (which I almost bought). Actually, really didn't need a snow blower this past winter.
You ask, who is this for or what market are they trying to serve? In my opinion, someone who is in the market for their first power washer that is more eco friendly (fossil fuel, fumes and noise), or need a replacement power washer and want to go electric versus gas or even power cord electric. Never a fan of electricity and water. Plus, more multi-purpose as the unit is very portable/mobile. Wash/rinse cars, clean walkways and or decking, or take it on the road or in other ways you mentioned and or mentioned below by others. Easier to cost justify. When my gas powered washer bites the bullet, I will be making the change to what is available at that time. Eventually, it will all come out in the wash. 🙂 Cheers!

Thank you for highlighting the other UA-camr reviews in this video, both IMJOSHV and CARSWITHKEAV because they nailed it with their testings. Thankfully I already knew this unit was a winner when I saw CSW demo it with Chris Metcalf back in October. I picked this washer up to replace my WORX Hydroshot back in February for 847 USD and it fits perfectly on the end my KOBALT utility cart with the J hooks. I find the cost of this washer priced decently because two 6.0 batteries are seven hundred dollars ordered without the tool. By the way, the OG Mosmatic sprayer and wand fit perfectly in the EGO holster! The answer is perfectly clear Pan, the EGO Pressure Washer is for detailing enthusiasts that live in places without running water and power like myself.

I am thinking about getting this one for my weekly personal car wash, I live in an area where the water is not so good but I can easily buy 10 gallons of pure water very cheap once a week. I will move to a different place soon so I don't want to buy a DI water system yet. The portable mode (siphon) is also useful for when the winter hits hard and the outside water outlet is too difficult to operate.

While I don’t have this Ego I do have the battery powered DeWalt and can say as a contractor these come in handy at cleanups when you don’t have access to a hose but still need to cleanup. I have a gas pressure washer for when I have hose access. The ability to load up the pressure washer and 2-4 buckets of water allows you to clean things up. These also work great for cleaning out evaporator and condenser coils as you can simply roll out the washer and bucket me go to town, no hoses to drag out or get to a spigot and no need to ask for permission to use someone’s water. These also allow those in apartments that may have limited spots for car washing or spigots to simply move over or across a parking lot and still wash their car. Another big benefit, that actually goes hand in hand with most battery tools, is these are insanely quiet relative to other washers.

I agree with one of the other folks here - that coiled hose is a big no-go. As a detailer, I notice my OCD tendencies a lot, and the hose coils as well as power cord coils drive me a bit. All in all it looks to be a decent pressure washer, but batteries have a lifetime (number of recharge cycles), and looking at the price of the unit, I imagine the batteries are expensive. I like electric power washers as they are quiet relatively speaking so it does provide that. I imagine there will be improvements in the product life cycle :) Thank you very much for the excellent review!

The Price is absurd. I could only see this for a select niche market. The weekend detailers with a normal house setup wouldn't choose this as they would have access to a power source and water spicket. The More advanced detailers would need a longer run time and water hookups. So really the only market for this product would be possibly people in apartments. Would work great for them but everyone else id save money and get a Karcher if i was a weekend warrior or a Kranzle washer if i was more serious about it.

It depends what snow foam you are using. Follow the instructions on the label of your specific product, as things can differ. Use that as a starting point, and adjust the dilution accordingly depending on your pressure washer setup and if you have hard or soft water.
A good starting point is usually a 1:10 dilution ratio, meaning 1 part product for every 10 parts of water. So in a 32 oz foam cannon, you can put 3 oz of product and 29 oz of water, for a total of 32 oz.

I just ordered one of these from Lowes for $854 out the door, $799 B4 Tax. I got mine as I wanted a newer more powerful washer than my current Ryobi 800 psi 1.2gpm unit. I am no washer snob, I use the Ryobi 600 psi EZClean 18v Power Cleaner when I'm in the woods and my Dirtbike is covered in mud before I load her up on the trailer. I use a VP Racing 5 Gallon fuel can just filled with clean water, you wouldn't believe how many folks think I'm a genius as they load up their muddy bikes rotfl. Anyhoo, the point is I buy what I need as it fills a hole and I'm not so much brand loyal. I share the love. I have the Ego Blower, The Ego Mower, An Ego Inverter and an Ego Chainsaw. I use it all alongside their gas counterparts when suitable. Honestly I haven't found much the Ego stuff can't do. I am expecting the same quality from this washer. I also ordered some Adams Mega Foam and an AstroAI Foam cannon to go with it that I want to use with this unit. I guess for me it made sense. I wanted a new washer, I am already heavily invested into the cordless world as well as the EGO ecosystem. I will be using it later today, should be good. Thanks for the review, I am a Porsche man myself so it made it all that better LOL. Great review. Thanks.

Not sure why people get carried away with the PSI, you dont need 3200 psi to clean your vehicle. What you want is GPM to be closer to 2 GPM. Also consider the size of your nozzle , getting one with a bigger orifice will give you higher GPM reducing the PSI and your power washer wont work as hard.

Jeepers, that’s a hefty price. I have all the hoses and gear, I would like to see them just sell the unit itself as a cordless unit and a couple batteries without all the accessories for people who would just prefer to cut the cord.

I hate that they have their own connections. Why can't everyone just stick to the standard? I like the idea of this, but not the price. I am excited to see people modify it though

Yeah I also wish they'd just use the industry standard 1/4" connections.
