- Kartoffel is a wild betta species called Mahachai betta. Growing cat grass was super easy. It was probably the easiest thing to grow.
The spinach flowering was a surprise. I suppose the plant was on its last leg, so it decided to flower before it withered away.
Our cat didn’t eat the cat grass. I tried multiple times and she wasn’t interested in it at all.

Cat grass is usually oats, wheat, or rye. The light is on 13 hours a day to promote fast growth.

(*The most important part is the salinity and temperature. At room temperature and above, it’ll work fine. Higher the temps, the faster they’ll hatch. They’ll continue to hatch upto 48 hours. If it’s winter, try this method: • 5 Months Update Baby F... )
(*For salinity, I’m going by the 1 table spoon per liter rule. However, depending on the size of the table spoon, you might want to try 1 table spoon, or 1 1/4 table spoon…and so on. You might want to experiment and see how much salt yields the best result. The brine shrimp will live for 3~4 days max. You can just siphon out only the amount you want during each feeding.)

INDOBETTA Pellet Monster #2 - This might be difficult to find. Very few stores import this I think. I bought this at a LFS. Every betta is a little different with different pellets. I feed Kartoffel with several different kinds of pellets and this is his favorite.

That fish is so cute! I rescued a betta from my job when they decided to have an office “pet” and not take care of it. He got stuck under a submarine decoration and ripped his top fin off. I took him home and have had him for about 4 months now. He swims a bit odd, but he’s doing so much better. I’m not nearly as educated in tanks like this but I’m sure he’s better off with me than in that office.

Escape, while offering respite, is no cure. Curing anxiety is done by exposure. The more you withdraw and seek comfort in a happy space, the smaller that space will become and the less you will be able to function outside it.

I just added a ghost shrimp to my Betta tank! Bowie, my Betta fish, didn’t attack him or try to kill him which is obviously good. I also have a separate tank with a goldfish named alfie and I have a nerite snail in there named Nowell ! I’m very excited whenever my fish seem happy and healthy, so watching your videos makes me so happy inside! Thank you so much ❤️

This is such a wonderful and interesting fish tank and a lovely home for a fish! It makes me so sad when I see people putting there beta fish in tiny tanks or just in glass jars with nothing else, I went to a aquarium store and I was so sad when I saw a shelf of around 50-60 beta fish in see through plastic cups!! Nothing stopping them from falling down no plants or gravel no nothing! It makes me so happy when people treat there fish so nicely and make them such happy homes to live in!
