FYI: You don't have to pay a fee to lock your credit report. Call the three credit reporting agencies it's free. Also, you can set and I do set thresholds on my bank accounts for free with the bank. I agree with all of the info and I have done this for years for free.
Lets talk about the job scammers too! I feel I have been contacted several times by job scammers representing real companies but its not the company hiring. Its no way to tell that the job posting is a scam sometimes. Its the process and questions that triggered my discernment to say naw something isnt right. One of them I actually called the company HR to see if its really their interview process. They confirmed it was not their process. I quickly ignored deleted and blocked. Discernment is powerful

I get why you feel that way. But I choose to use one for automatic payments and another card to get money from the ATM. But Anthony and his buddy Dave Ramsey highly suggest you don't use credit cards. And personally I never liked them either. But we all have to weigh our options and do what we feel is best.

I have a credit history, which is how you get an apartment, mobile phone service, utilities and credit cards. But I don't use credit cards. If I can't afford it, I don't need it. And listen my mother preaches the same thing you're saying to me. Also I'm not disciplined when it comes to credit cards, for me it's better to purchase what I need and not put anything on credit. And debit cards and having money saved for incidentals. Oh and I've booked hotel rooms and airbnb with my debit cards.

But I think that was my local airport car rental agencies policy. There was one place that would let me rent a car but they were closed at that hour. Other than that I made a purchase back in February on Amazon that ended being a payment plan situation and that was it.

You should have a credit professional to come on your show. You can freeze your credit without going through an agency. Your credit will be hit hard if you dont have any credit cards.

I had to freeze my credit with Experian, because someone had attempted to get unemployment in my name. They went as far as to filling out the information. I was made aware of this when the unemployment paperwork and a card to get unemployment was sent to my address. Also alert the unemployment agency that I did not apply for unemployment. I have had people to use my debit cards for small amounts, I changed my debit cards, set alerts and spending limits. If amounts are spent over the limit that has been set, it will be denied, I will get alerts and have to approve the purchase. Be careful of your information being sold on the dark web. The subscription that I have scours the dark web for my information and removes it.
