The man is a wealth of knowledge.. Thanks for all the explanations and examples. Been alot of trial and error looking "my correct shaft & shaft profile". Thanks for the vid !
This maybe the best golf shaft video on UA-cam. So many great tips. I loved the baseball player part. I learned so much about my swing from listening to you. Thank you!
Thanks for the best video I have seen about shaft fitting. Flex was hardly mentioned and this reinforced what I have learned that shaft profile is the key not reg, stiff or x.
Great video. I have a quick transition and a lot of hand speed but with an xstiff shaft I don’t get enough spin. I tried a Venus red today and it felt easier to time and the ball flight was better even giving me a slight fade that I’m eager to see.
Awesome content. What might be really nice to see, are some swing videos of "early release", "late release", slow tempo, fast tempo, hard loading vs smooth swinging golfers etc... and then what type of shaft category you'd choose for each swing type... viewers could then say "that looks more like I swing, I should maybe consider a shaft that's more tip stiff, or more but stiff etc... seeing what swing types match up with what shaft types as a fitter would be awesome, and I don't know that I've ever seen any videos show that in a visual way..
These are all great suggestions, as much as I don’t want to film my customers swings I think I need to figure out how to film where it’s not a distraction. Thanks again for the support and suggestions
Fitters usually push me to stiffer profiles. I have a negative aoa (-4 to -5) 102 swing speed. Quick tempo. Launch around 8 -9 degrees and spin it in high 2000s. Counter balanced shafts w stable tips usually work well enough. I really like the feel of Ventus red velocore but when I swing fast I lose the head. Love to tinker and try everything I can.
Great video. Do you think you could do a video talking about shaft torque? For instance, can a torque of 5'ish in a Graphite Design VF be equated to an another shaft with similar torque? Or is that where the bend profiles come into play? Thank you.
Torque video would definitely be a good one. I would say Torque has more to do with feel than anything else. Meaning I can put someone in a high torque shaft but say XS and it never feel like a XS. Now some say torque can help offset a slice but personally speaking I’ve really never seen that to be the case.
Amazing content! Currently playing the modus 130x in my irons and love the feel and performance… in terms of CPM this is probably the stiffest iron shaft there is but the profile is kind of unique them having an active tip. Would you go with the same profile in woods ( currently playing ventus red but finding the mid section a bit too loose in my driver)
Great question, it really depends on tempo , transition and style of release. But it probably wouldn’t hurt to try what’s the shaft your currently gaming in your driver and what don’t you like about the feel or shot outcome?
@@SwingFit I naturally draw to ball, the modus 130x helps my timing and helps me not overdraw it. The Ventus Red 6x tipped 1 inch) feels to bendy in the middle with the driver so I’ll occasionally fade it or i’ll pull hook it so it’s a 2 way miss). It’s incredible in a 9x tipped 2 inches in my 7 wood but no my driver. Thinking heavier at this point with a totally different profile.
I think you bring up a good point , but we just need to make sure we make the changes incrementally so we understand what’s contributing to the impact when we see it. So if red 6xs felt to bendy then I would likely go to red TR 7XS first, and if that didn’t work then I would go to blue profile, 6xs, 7XS but almost never anything heavier then 70, the only time I like going heavier is if I have someone who’s struggling with tempo.
Sure that’s a good starting point from there I would then just base it off of feel and results the one that gives you the tightest dispersion on the face and optimal launch conditions then you know you have the right one.
Ok I'm like your last description where I played baseball for years before and during my learning golf. I've always had a fast tempo with very fast hands and my driver club head speed is 112-120. I've always went to XStiff shafts cause thought needed that low torque low launch with my tempo and swing. I currently play few Hzrdous black driver shafts both Stiff and Xstiff. What other suggestion should I Tru with that swing with fast tempo, fast hands cause I play a draw 95% of the time and misses are pulls or snap hooks
I would seek out a fitter to try something along the lines of the Ventus Blue lineup, maybe even the Speeder NX series, the RED TR would be a wild card but also possibly with trying.
@SwingFit no fitters within few hundred miles so I've always just built the shafts and clubs myself and go out to course to try. Also just got golf simulator in garage so will be getting numbers in there to compare. I have ll the loft/lie bender for irons and wedges and shaft puller for graphite shafts.

Anytime my man, don’t hesitate to reach out should you need anything.
I’ve been waiting for a video like this to nerd out to for awhile! I’ll be watching soon

Spot on, thanks for the continued support .

The Ventus red is a great shaft stiff in The handle but responsive in the tip section to coincide with your fast hand speed.
LOL this is perfect timing on the video given my email to yall and sending my data over.
Exactly, what I was thinking I should be able to review data a little later this evening.

As usual, great video, very informative!
As always thanks for the feedback and support.

Try the FUJI Motore X F3 6x shaft. They don’t get a lot of press but I find it’s a nice in between Red and Blue profiles
I love videos like these
Thanks for the support and feedback.

Meaning the correct type shaft will be determined by the current swing speed
But will swing speed increase or maximize by using the correct shaft

Would the Mizuno DNA swing analyser be a good place to start to look for a shaft that’s suitable?

Where are you located for fitting?
We are located in WV about 90 minutes from Wash. DC in a little town called Bunker Hill.
What driver shaft has a similar bend profile to the Project X shafts? Soft butt and gets stiffer towards the tip? Ventus black TR?
What part of the country is this accent
West by God Virginia.😀
I was thinking Tennessee
