“Falsehood flies, and truth comes limping after it.”
okay... we need to have the recipe to that delicious looking bowl of food. I'm an omnivore but I'm absolutely not opposed to beans and avocados and quinoa/rice. All it needed was fried garlic chips to make it the perfect dish for me.
Wait, can you speak more about Ritual? My bf and I have been fully vegan since July 2022, and Ritual multi-V is what he’s been taking
Please never stop making these videos. It’s the only bit of hope I can cling to when I remember how unhinged and unscientific the anti-vegans can get 😅
That’s just a pervasive thing happening both in vegans and non vegans, it’s the state of the world now sadly.
Vegans can get pretty unscientific too. Some of the stuff they're putting out there is insane. (Not saying this because I'm anti-vegan, just stating a fact).
@@nicolesapphire3696 I guess we're referring to human nature here.
@@nicolesapphire3696 Sure, although there's so much more of the non-vegans doing it because eating meat is the norm so the two camps aren't exactly on equal footing from the start. That being said, all of those fruitarian nutjobs who mask their eating disorders behind malnourished vegan diets, certainly are easy targets to criticize.
It's insane that people unironically say words like "pro-meat" and don't ever question if they're not mentally ill
If you cover more, I will definitely watch. I find this breakdown of why the claims aren't actually supported to be really helpful.
LiftingVeganLogic went through almost everything and tore it apart.
Oh please! Do continue! You should even have a counter for the number of false claims these people make!
It’s insane how he speaks with such authority and his audience doesn’t question it
Kinda like this audience doesn't question this channel?
just like you are not question this channel?lmao. your sweet tooth is about to fall and when it does, you will be back on eating meat and eggs.
Really liked this video.
I watched the "What I've learned" video because UA-cam recommended to me. I did not know the channel beforehand.
And I was pissed after watching it, not because of being "antivegan" but because it tries to be scientific while talking lies and half-truths. And the thing is, this type of "well-made" video wil spread easier than any response or comment with the truth.
People think that being vegan is very hard and not healthy, but most people that I know eat non-healthy diets with lots of processed stuff, lots of sugar and not balanced at all.
I'm vegan for 3 years now and FOR ME it has been great. I am very healthy and I am in the best shape of my life.
I don't think being vegan would be hard, although adjusting to any new way of eating is tricky at first, but it is just way too expensive currently in my country. They call it a privileged lifestyle for a reason, but there's no emotional ties keeping me away, it's just cost.
@@naryainc Is it so expensive? There are some influencers in Brazil that are focused on low budget vegan diets. Of course you can spend lots on tofu, suplements and other stuff
But rice, beans, grains in general and vegetables are not supposed to be expensive
@@LuizFelipeMendes What concerns me most is protein.
Very healty and vegan don't go together
@@naryainc Dried beans are extremely cheap and a very good source of protein. If you soak them overnight then you don't have to cook them for as long. I use an electric pressure cooker so it's fairly quick and it is very easy.
His channel is so popular that I think a complete response would be adequate 😁
And I would certainly watch it
same!
Yes!
Me, too!
Also, I love how they go on about how milk is essential like their hunter-gatherer idols were stopping to milk prehistoric cows, and like half the world isn’t lactose intolerant 🙃🙃
I've never met or heard of anyone being lactose intolerant. In any case, the tiny amount of people who are lactose intolerant can still consume all the dairy products mentioned in the video except for whole milk, which isn't as nutrient rich as its derivatives.
Since you seem to belong to the small group of vegans that still insist that veganism is human's original and natural diet, please tell me what vegetable is it that humans ate that contained all the nutrients that modern vegans can only get from a variety of vegetables imported from all over the world..
@@UntakenNick you’re making assumptions about me - I don’t believe humans were ever 100% vegan and acknowledge that if you shot me back to the Middle Ages I would probably have to eat meat.
68% of the world’s population is lactose intolerant. The gene that allows people to digest lactose after infancy is concentrated in Europe. Lactose intolerance is intolerance to any product that contains lactose, so any that doesn’t is chill 🤷♀️
@@UntakenNick Interesting that you only responded to half. Did original humans drink milk from other mammals? Yet paleo and carnivore people are obsessed with butter. I dont see many lions consuming dairy past infancy...
Prehistoric people didn’t live long enough to lose their teeth to decay or nutritional deficiency.
@@majalcarie7091 with such long lifespans they must have been so healthy
please continue with these debunking videos they are super informative
Imagine how relieving it is to watch WIL when you eat animals. "Thank god I can't be healthy or help the planet on a vegan diet".
You can also help the planet on an omnivore diet.
@@MustardSkaven Yes, you can. This is why Swayze and many of us ethic vegans - wishing to reduce unnecessary suffering of animals. Helping the environment is a bonus.
@@MustardSkaven no
@@MustardSkaven not if you buy from factory farms and eat beef and pork
@@uniquenewyork3325 That's wrong. You're buying electronics which leads to destructive and abusive mining, are you not? Yet you can still help the planet, no?
As an Aussie- we have some of the most sun of anywhere. We also have super high vitamin d deficiency levels because the public health campaign to prevent skin cancer has been wildly wildly effective. We supplement and get on with it because skin cancer is worse
I was waiting for this, thank you! would love for you to cover the rest of his video as well :)
Me too!
Teeth are a pet peeve of mine, because some of my baby teeth never came out and the adult teeth never came in (and in case any anti-vegans happen to see this, neither my biological parents nor my adoptive parents were vegan nor vegetarian; and I was an omnivorous child and teenager).
Of course, baby teeth aren't built to last a lifetime. However, insurance won't cover having them removed and replaced until they get infected and cause something systemic. Which would land me in the hospital and would definitely end up costing MUCH more than the lower cost of simply preventing that now, with a simple out-patient procedure.
Insurance (and preventative care) is a mess. 😔🤦🏾♀️
Thank you so much for making this! As a biologist, videos like this guys where they pick and choose facts and studies to validate their narrative drives me insane! No wonder there is so much misinformation out there, especially when people are taking videos like this at face value because he sounds "science-y"
Never stop with these! I also miss some of your older long form content. So don’t be afraid to through in a longer video here or there.
it cracks me up how much emotional support meat eaters need about it, and that's exactly why there is an audience for content like WIL.
I've always found it odd that people seem to be worried about b12 only when it comes to vegans. I've had beriatric surgery and it causes me to absorb really low levels of b12 -> I need to take 1mg supplement every day. Does anyone think that causes my diet to be not healthy? Ofc not.
Yeah, it’s literally just cope.
@@gorgzilla1712 need a check?
@@mandi3891 This dude literally sells beef vitamins. Yet this entire video trashes the idea of "vegan" vitamins.
Haha emotional support I guess that's why milk is so popular 🍼
I was looking forward for your response, please continue!!!
I was waiting and hoping you’d make a video on this!! More please! I made it about five minutes into his video and got so frustrated!! I appreciate the time you put in to make these well-informed videos!!
Why to support this anti-vegan crap with your views anyway
I would love for you to continue Your research is so thoughtful and thorough. Your hard work shows! Thank you for making these commentaries!
I love when you break down these types of videos. Please do part 2!
Please do part 2!
Id also enjoying seeing those vitamin reviews!
Great critique and it's obvious the work and quality you put into this. We love you Swayze!
Please do continue going through it. Love your vids!
Really good video, I appreciate you making these! Would love it if you could make a part 2 on this.
Yes please continue, I love these reaction videos.
Thanks for the work you did!
Yes, please, continue to analyze his video. Thank you for your job !
Absolutely continue making these!
So glad you're doing this one! 😃👍🏽
Please please please do a part 2 and debunk the whole video 🙏 🙏 🙏 this is so helpful and insightful
Your channel has taught me a lot about how to spot falsehoods and misrepresentations of research and data. So yes please, would love to see more on this one!
You make it look so easy and effortless, but kudos for the time and effort you put into this. Dude could take a page from you.
She's CHEATING.
Keep doing what you're doing. I've been subscribed for years and it's always been so helpful and informative. Love your channel, dear❤
Please continue! I know WIL since he started his channel and i used to appreciate his content back then. I dunno what made him stray from course but i think it is super important to call the misinformation out
I think you should continue with the rest of the video. I enjoy when you talk about some of the mistakes we vegans do and I think that's helpful for newcomers, but debunking carnist nonsense is definitely more fun, and it's needed when they have a lot reach. Also, thank you for not shilling for shitty products. That's the right thing to do :)
I would love to see you do both videos, both are good topics.
I would love a follow up! Not only for my personal education on nutrition and science journalism, but I also think that it would have value for veganism as a whole to thouroughly debunk this kind of garb-.... misinformation. 😬
The following things happened to me while I was still an omnivore - my teeth are slightly crooked, I got injured twice playing sports and required a surgery, I had cavities every time I went to a dentist, I had vit D deficiency even though I live in CA. Thank you for educating your audience!
please continue because i can't watch WIL for myself because of the inaccurate claims Joseph makes, it's just too much, but seeing you talk about it makes me more comfortable :)
I like how you dissect and bring down misleading information, I do want to see more!
Yes please continue with another video!
Before I went vegan, What I've learned is what inspired me to cut carbs and intermittent fast as an underweight teenager. I've been vegan for over 5 years now and I've never once been as hungry and deficient as when I was following that man's advice. It's the only time where I felt like I had to ignore my body's cravings for vital nutrients because I wanted to reach ketosis despite the fact that I only had essential fat left.
I believe in free speech but I think that level of misinformation is genuinely dangerous. He essentially packages disordered eating behind this pseudo-anthropologically backed caveman lifestyle and sells that to young impressionable men who don't know any better. At best it's negligent and at worst it's predatory.
Yeah if you don't do your research you're going to have to deficiencies on a vegan diet so I would recommend to do research which some people just go into vegan diet and eat whatever they want and then they don't supplement if they have to so I don't think People should just blindly go into the diet or they going to go back to eat meat?
You were an underweight teenager and you cut carbs and intermittent fasted? If you didn’t have any other existing conditions I think common sense more than anything might have been the best thing to benefit you in that situation not a UA-cam video.
@@sincorazon9920 "Why were you (a literal child) susceptible to misinformation? Why didn't you draw on the vacuous concept of common sense to gain a greater understanding of something you didn't understand."
I am here for the debunks and always will be.✌️
Yes, sure! We'd be very happy to hear a voice of rationality. Thank you!
Oh God yes...the video I have been waiting for!
Thanks so much for making these videos!
I love it when you make these type of videos. It's very satisfying to watch anti-scientific claims get debunked, especially when the original creator didn't read/understant their own sources. However, if these videos are particularly draining for you to make, I for one am happy to watch just about anything you publish.
I absolutely love you’re videos! I’m trying everyday to eat more plant based. I have MS and celiac disease and recently (after eating totally vegan) found out I have a soy intolerance. I’m constantly looking for good vegan alternatives that don’t make me sick and still make me feel emotionally and physically satiated. I love chick pea pasta and rice and have found that if I have a meal with impossible meat once a week it doesn’t really bother me. My breakfast and lunch is vegan and my dinner sometimes are and sometimes has fish or chicken. Still trying everyday!
That's impreesive.
I think your approach is perfect if you have health issues. :)
Yessss please continue! I love it :)
Please continue with this AND do Ritual too please. A UA-camr I watch just did a sponsored video with them and I looked into them and would love to hear what you think 😉
Please continue!

Funny story I had a dream last night and you were in a shopping store and I kept staring and had to explain I was a fan of yours 😂
I would like part 2 :)
I hope you make a follow up about the part with the cats on a raw meat diet. It was such a weird, long tangent just to make an appeal to nature argument.
I was waiting for this! I watched his whole video when it came out just so I could say to myself that I wasn’t ignoring evidence that disagreed with me, and then… wow.
Most skewed shit I’ve seen in a long time. If you know literally anything basic about body science or how studies work you can see that it’s not a complete picture he paints.
If you want to go through the whole video and debunk it all I would watch it 1000% 🙏🙏
She can't debunk the rest. Or she would have.
About the Finnish study on vitamin D, I want to point out that we Finns live in a country next to zero sunlight for several months of the year :D It is recommended that all of us here, regardless of the diet, use Vitamin D supplements.

Loved this!!
Thank you for this video!
As someone that is critical of vegan diets, I think his video is a really great case study of why good presentation doesn't always mean what you're listening to is factual. Always double check what a youtuber says to you and question when sources are quoted. It's really really easy to take data out of context and reach bad conclusions!
As someone curious with a vegan diet, this is very affirming to see. I still eat meat and whatever but trying, and I mean trying to cut out more and more until no more. And watched his video had to stop when he mentioned the talking point about "phytoestrogens being estrogenic" and looked through the comments and found this channel. Thank you commenter and now gonna binge all of these, would love more of this too

Please respond to the rest of it. Very interesting and helpful. Thank you! Also, what do you think about new controversy emerging around fat? Basically, fat and animal based fat is not considered bad for you now. Instead, process foods and seed oils are the culprits behind inflammations and heart disease. What are your thoughts on that?
She can't talk about that or her corporate backers would dump her.
Love this! 👏🏼
Great video! We appreciate the great response to his claims about veganism :)
Great video!!
I'd like to see a video on ritual, care of, and other such supplements
I've seen so many vegan youtubers promote ritual! do you have a video on that? I think it's very interesting that they promote that kind of stuff and ag1 too (I did watch your vid on that). this video was very interesting too and I would definitely watch if you covered the rest of that dude's stupid claims!
Yes continue please
12:1 conversion from beta carotene to retinol, but the content of beta carotene in a balanced vegan diet compared to an average non-vegan is probably at least 12:1... it's also not toxic in excess and offers some UV protection. A medium cooked carrot gives 45x (seriously) as much as a glass of milk for example. Once converted the beta carotene is still giving around 5x the retinol activity equivalent...
Such a weird thing to be annoyed about, but him talking about only high northern latitudes having D3 deficiencies was so annoying like bro there’s an entire Southern Hemisphere too. I know the population of really southern people is much power but still. Argentina exists
Please continue.
@8:20 he is looking at the end result of the plant food - after the cow made the conversion. My body does the same thing. Not saying human meat is the answer, but my flesh would also have those nutrients because my body made them for me from my food.
"Vitamin B12 deficiency in infants secondary to maternal causes" (13:06)
(13:38) Both babies in each case were given daily intramuscular injections of vitamin B12 (including one mother). That is different to oral supplementation which you are referring to in the video.
Your hair looks amazing here! Do you do anything to it?
I saw his video on my reccomended, i'm no vegan and if people can find my comment history, i have a pretty bitter impression of the community. I think in spite of that its always good faith to see the other side and i'm glad i did. It struck me as odd when he started off with the teeth thing because my sibling and I have the exact opposite experience. I also didn't like the way he basically made a montage of influencers leaving veganism and hanging them there like its some kind of shame pole or gotcha pole. It reminded me of how my formal vegan supervisor would rant about her friends leaving veganism and shame them on facebook. The spinach one was also mildly eye raising, being lactose intolerant i avoid eggs and do eat spinach since young along with pork for my iron needs and i can feel a significant difference resembling iron deffiency when i have not eaten spinach in awhile. I had went full carnivore for my skin issues and the lack of vegetables in affecting my mental clarity was noteworthy. Been omnivore since
i think the clain he adresses that is a safe option to eat meat because we don't know which nutrients may be essential, because some have recently be proven to be essential.
Do more videos on part 2 & part 3 of his WiL video.
They stated it was 'possible', not 'likely' that the men were not accurately reporting their supplement use. Those two words have very different meanings. ( 11:43 )
Yes, please continue... A part 2 would be great. 😶 ( Yes, I'm a glutton for punishment.. 😅)
Continue plz!!
You are supremely pleasant Swayze🙂

Fab debunk! Question: Why do the RDA %s show greater than 100% if they're inadequate doses?
Assuming you are referring to the b12, the multis go by the “regular” RDA. Pregnant women need higher daily intakes.
@@veganforthem76 Oh, ok, thanks!

I love your videos and content but my big question is, IS THAT ORCHID REAL??!! I LOVE IT❤❤❤
I know it's not the same thing but are there any research of long-term effects of a reduced meat diet in done in say India as they could have generational effects shown in some cases

When you need to one-up the vegan at a dinner party.
Mind boggling how threatened some feel by vegans. Guilt? Justification tool? I dunno.
I enjoyed this video.
After 5 years vegan, mostly whole foods, my teeth were weak, painful and my gums weren't great either. A few months of eating lots of meat, eggs etc my teeth are amazing! They're so strong.
I've reversed all the other health issues I had to. My gut does not do well with lots of plants.
Fair. Some people can't survive on a vegan diet. Did you supplement and get systematic blood work, by the way?
@somefuckertookmynickname hi, I did supplement. B12, and iron towards the end plus other included omega 3, lysine, vitamin c.
I avoided doctors and to be honest couldn't even think straight. I put it down to having had a hard life for a number of decades and undiagnosed auto immune.
But turns out it was mostly caused by diet. I had blood tests recently and they were good. I suspect 8 months ago they would of been terrible.

What do you think of healthy cell vegan supplements? Would love to hear your thoughts on it
I haven't watched the video yet, but I just wanted to say the thumbnail is truly horrifying... 😂

YES! please respond to the rest of the video :D
Ugh yes... it's way more genetics. We had a terrible diet growing up - lots of processed junk and tons of soda and acidic foods - and we all had very different teeth. My older sister has PERFECT naturally straight teeth but like a million cavities (deep grooves). Mine we ok - a few cavities and a little crooked, but could have used some cosmetic alignment. My little sister was in braces for like 3 years and has a kinds of issues.
Braces are usually got to with a mouth breathing problem from a young age that leads to poor facial development.
8:40 But vitamin A intake is not all equal, as he explained in the video. His study looked at blood samples. Your study looked at intake. If betakarotene have to be converted and the conversion is inefficient, then you would need a much higher vitamin A intake if you're a vegan.
