RIP Richard Lewis. Your wit, dry humor and comedic genius made you an absolute legend in not only curb, but all of the many features you appeared in over your long and successful career. LD may have won the bet, but you'll forever live on in the hearts of many. Rest Easy, King
Two of the high points of my life were seeing Richard Lewis AND Gilbert Gottfried perform. Now that they're both gone, I'm even happier I got a chance to see them
There are so many great running jokes in the show. But this compilation highlights the trope of Lewis always thinking he’s in love and that she’s the one. Brilliant!
What do you mean "most realistic friendship", they've knew each other since forever, born in the same hospital 3 days apart, and Larry even said that Richard was like a brother to him.
It's the most absurd marketing people believe. Improv does not mean they literal just say what comes to mind. It means in curb that plot and overall situation are scripted but dialog is left to the actors. They do preplan and have their lines ready to go and then it's reshot until it meshes.
Larry David pays tribute to his late friend and "Curb Your Enthusiasm" co-star Richard Lewis. “Richard and I were born three days apart in the same hospital and for most of my life he’s been like a brother to me. He had that rare combination of being the funniest person and also the sweetest. But today he made me sob and for that I’ll never forgive him."
It's so close to home for me or anyone who has that one childhood friend you just can't give up hope he'll come around to reality, might become a better person, and so on.... have all that history It's just a shame to toss it aside.... come to think of it, HEY ART, GO F YOURSELF, IT AIN'T WORTH IT.
Lol they have grown together thru out the show, and their relationship had never changed no matter how many times they have fought and screwed each other over 🤣
One of my favorite curb moments will always be when Larry interrupts to ask "Did you call him Ben Laden or bin Laden?" and Lewis holding back his laughter, "I don't know...." 😂
The car dealership is pure genius. Larry physically assaulting a friend because he screwed up a sale despite the fact that he has no need for money is comedy genius as it applies to pettiness
When you have enough money you have to give up your dream of being a car salesman? It’s more like Larry continues to be misunderstood even by (especially by) his close friends
Pound for pound, this is one of the greatest videos on UA-cam. Value for money-wise I mean. It's 96 minutes of pure entertainment from start to finish, every single moment worth watching. If that ain't worth a sympathy sub, I don't know what is.
💯 even tho we are internet random casuals our time is valuable & spending valuable free time on this Free content is a no brainier - only show ( besides Seinfeld) to actually make me laugh out loud 😂
“What is this, Roots? Whaddaya mean auctioned off?” Richard had some great historical references, many of which I didn’t catch till I became older and wiser, but this is the all time best one
2:30 From their very first scene on the show together they were cracking each other up to the point where the entire artifice of trying to improv a dramatic confrontation almost broke down. These two had such an amazing friendship and chemistry. RIP Mr. Lewis.
Wow, what a great video. I love Richard Lewis, from his mannerisms to his delivery, it's just priceless. Him and Larrys' antics are the best, you can really tell they're having fun.
I'm gonna leave here the biggest thank you ever, for making this video. I mean seriously you took the time of making the best 96 minutes of gold, just pure entertainment! And it's in a chronological order, i am really impressed and I can't thank you enough! Thank you, thank you, thank you! And god bless you!
The first scene shows what a great actor is Lewis. The body language is fantastic and the way they talk back to each other and they cover each other voices out of "anger" is something I only saw so convincing on De Niro and Pesci especially in Casino.
Thank you for putting all these clips together. Richard and Larry interactions were the best. Great friendship. 😢sad he is not here but good memories stay.
That was amazing! I watched the whole thing and laughed my ass off! You should have put the scene in there where Richard was calling everybody in the restaurant "honey" to show his girlfriend its just something he says a lot. That was hilarious too.. This was great work! Im saving this to revisit periodically for a good laugh. Thank you
Thank you for timestamping the scene, it was literally what I was looking for in this compilation! Larry David's bird sounds are so freaking funny, and the Cuban dance hall line is pure gold
Richard Lewis pushed me on the sidewalk across the street from a comedy club in San Francisco in 1991. I was running down the street looking for a pay phone because I had just seen a for rent sign for an apartment and didn’t have a pen. I audibly gasped when I saw the pay phone and charged towards it. I didn’t see Richard Lewis standing there until he was actually reaching out to push me away. It was a shocking moment for me. I guess he thought I had gasped and run towards him. I just stood there confused and then continued on towards the pay phone before I realized that I had just been physically pushed by Richard Lewis 😂
Man I Appreciate Larry SO Much For Showcasing His Friend For Us. This Made Richard One Of My Favorites And I Never Would Have Known Of Him Without This. He Deserved This So Much Rest Up Buddy.
Richard and his similes and metaphors “im not the kremlin” “i dont live in a Cuban dance hall” “you were looking at her breast with a gd telescope like Galileo” 😭 sobbing laughing
Richard going "What are you talking about what does that even mean?" about the sandwich being stolen when his named is on a piece of tape over Larry David is one of the funniest fucking things ever
Thank you Bubba, thank you internet and thank you world for allowing: A Complete Timeline of Richard Lewis and Larry David Banter & Arguments (Curb Your Enthusiasm) to exist. This 97 minutes being out there makes the world a better place.
49:15 ALWAYS gets me...his face when he realizes what the hell is trying to actually say, LMAO! This is probably the only time Larry questions his reasoning and backtracks. Too good.

Ya know who else is this same kind of funny? Richard Belzer. Vastly underrated but greatly appreciated and much missed.
I love when in the middle of an argument they go off on a tangent and the conversation tone completely changes.
is that sweater 100% cashmere?
The China only lets you have 2 kids "they kill the baby?!" tangent was fantastic
This whole series is chain tangents and I love it❤❤❤
Larry explained in an interview, that he always did that when he noticed that Richard began to do his act lol
When Larry gets midway through breaking the news about separating with Cheryl, and he starts questioning Susie over the size of the plate she gave him
There are so many great running jokes in the show. But this compilation highlights the trope of Lewis always thinking he’s in love and that she’s the one. Brilliant!

The writing is absolutely incredible and entertaining as heck!! 😂
I wish it was but this kind of friendship is actually very rare. If you think you’re in one then you’re very lucky.
look at you, norman vincent louise over here
What do you mean "most realistic friendship", they've knew each other since forever, born in the same hospital 3 days apart, and Larry even said that Richard was like a brother to him.
I love it when they laugh at each others absurd responses while they improvize.

I strive to have a friendship like David and Lewis did, every moment of these guys on screen was gold
"You've taken everything the wrong way ever since I've known you."

I just watched the whole video without pausing. Can't get enough of Lewis on Curb. RIP

I don’t live in a Cuban dancehall! I live in my own home and it doesn’t take toucans!
