Why should they. The Ten Commandments are part of the Mosaic Law containing 600 laws. The law was given to the nation of Israel for a specific purpose. Christians are not under the Mosaic Law. Romans 10:4; Galatians 3:24, 25
As a citizen I’ll do my part. It’s worrying because my fellow country men and women seem indifferent.

They need to fellow the teachings of the Bible and Jesus Christ. Speaking the truth! This is why church attendance is down.
The ten commandments were abolished, destroyed, annulled, erased, made void, and passed away, as the Holy scriptures reveal, as the entire law of Moses.
Love is the fulfillment of all the law and the prophets, the law of Christ.
Posting the law of Moses did not profit, because no man could keep it. But the love of God poured forth into our hearts by the Holy Spirit, as a matter of grace, and manifests itself outwardly. It is the evidence that one is a disciple Jesus Christ. Love is a higher law.
Amen. "They want the wrath of the old God, but want their front man to be Jesus." These folks pushing this law are so ignorant or conniving or both.
When we moved to a very small town in coastal Georgia, my youngest came home after the first day of public middle school and said they say the grace before lunch and a picture of the Lord's Prayer was on the wall in his class. I told him that couldn't be and he assured me it was. When I finally went into the classrooms, yep......he was exactly correct! There are places all over America that boldly mix religion and government. Christians who don't think a marriage is legitimate unless you get a license from the government hold the government's authority over God's. And yes, they going to outlaw everything except their religion.

They are definitely endorsing two specific religions, Judaism and Christianity. The very first commandment is 'thou shalt have no other Gods before me.' They can't argue that the 10 commandments could apply to any religion, that argument fails at the very first one. This completely discriminates against all other religious and non-religious beliefs of families who attend schools in Louisiana. Landry claims Moses was the original law giver, yet many religions existed prior to Judaism or even moreso Christianity.

I wonder putting the ten commandments in schools , public places etc and etc what difference will it and what the one that says thou shall not kill is going to put stop to shoting in schools public places, supermarkets and others and I hope he the put the ten commandments in all police stations across the country especially the one that says thou shall not kill should be in bold letters and high lighted.
Drive the chaos down to the next circle of Dante's Inferno. Amend the law to require display of all mores but only in the languages of origin. Bring on the tenets in Hebrew Aramaic, Amharic, Sanskrit, Chinese (all scripts), Japanese, Asante, Afro-creoles which birthed voudun and candomble, Runes, Gaelic, et. al. Beware of the diversionary tactics - something worse is coming.

I don't know enough about the Bible to know if Christian is used as a descriptor in the Old Testament. Can someone enlighten me, please. I thought that the only way to get to God is through acceptance of Jesus Christ. These people are trying to supersede God, in my opinion, because if you accept Christ you must accept his teachings as well.

Nothing, as long as you don’t force others to do it.
Nothing... as long as you allow all other religions to be equally recognized and their tenants followed as well.
And the non-religious normal people don't have to be subjected to it.
It ignores the first amendment "establishment " clause, totally.
If you believe in the bible...there are signs if you're willing to see. Remember, people refused to believe the signs and warnings of Noah... until they were all drowned-- not just the heretics. By the way, Moses was not the original law bringer.

Your idea of God is not the only one.
The laws of Moses, which are Jewish. They don't or won't follow the tenets of Jesus, and yet they claim to be Christians.
I'm a Christian but I also believe in the separation between church and state. I think what Louisiana did is illegal and ridiculous. What about students who aren't Christian?
