I had a similar experience, I was in a Michael Kors store and soon as I walked in a nice Asian man ask me do I need help. He showed me different things and I picked one of the bags he showed me, he was so courteous and kind. I was still shopping for a little while, then I walked up to pay for the bag he helped me pick out. The cashier said who helped you, then she pointed to a black man who she had seen me with just before I walked up to the counter. The guy she was pointing to, just ask me did I need any help and I replied no. I could have said yes to the cashier and gave him a commission on my $250 bag, but I didn’t. Since the guy that helped me was not in our sight, I described him to her and she knew who I was talking about. It would have been wrong of me to give the black guy the commission when he didn’t even help me with anything, but the Asian guy did. So YOU WAS RIGHT KAREN! Do not let ANYONE tell you different. 😊
I had a similar situation when I was buying my house. I already had a realtor, who was an Arab-American guy, and he showed my wife and I a few houses, but we hadn't found anything yet. Then I went on one of the housing websites, and I saw another realtor who was a Black guy, and I was thinking, "Hey, why not give the Brother the commission on the house sale." I just told him forget it, and went right back to my Arab American realtor. I felt like a complete ass too.

Make some distinction between stereotyping, prejudice, discrimination and racism! Discrimination based on race is not racism. Read Neely Fuller! He wrote the book on Racism. "Racism is White Supremacy."
So when 300k jobs are created in tech during the pandemic, and 95% go to poc and women, is that not systemic? What about when the VP of Disney is caught on camera saying they aren't hiring White's? Some of the biggest companies in the world are OPENLY saying they don't want white people. Y'all lack morals. And reading comprehension because you can simply Google the definition of racism. An individual that is black can absolutely be racist. There's nothing in the definition excluding blacks. NOTHING.
Definitely a topic worth discussing! I had to ask myself this question frequently, and this is my opinion. The topics of discussion we ought to have are what is discrimination, being a racist, and being racial. These terms can be confusing because of their similarity. All three make strange "bedfellows."
Ms. Karen, You WERE NOT RACIST. Yes, I believe Black people with SYSTEMIC power can be racist. In this case, u was wrong…but not racist. Here is why: 1) you had power, but not systemic, changeable power 2) your power was not in a vacuum. Ur power had many factors at play as a Black woman in America with historical context. 3)you were a patron, not the owner. If you OWNED the store, that would be more of a societal microcosm at play. Then you would be racist. 5) you were trying to recirculate the Black dollar, not trying to disenfranchise the white woman…which would be racist Bonus: When a mouse gets an upper hand on the cat, that does not make him anti-cat. It makes him pro-survival. Don’t feel bad. Just do better next time. Yes, you was messed up, but racist? No.
It may be bad, but I’m with Lamont. If someone else did do the work, I would’ve given them the commission. However, when I can, I try to give work to our people bc just as Lamont said, how navy people won’t go to the sister/brother in that same day?

When I was finishing the purchase a black manager ask me to give him the deal so he could get the commission I thought this was wrong and completed the deal with the young white guy.
When u spend US green, u should train ur brain to convert that green to BLACK 🎯 …every time. In Prof. Karen’s real life scenario, she was absolutely right to FIX strife created in a commission environment❣️ Again, the wrong was upfront in not preparing to convert a small amount of green to black. BUT 1 penny, 1 nickel, 1 dime at a time financed Black Wsll Street, Lincoln University, 1st banks, insurance company here in NC. Lamont is right! Professor Karen acted prejudiced. She was not racist. I choose Black every time. 😂
he's not right.
@@KarenHunterShowYou should do a live show on how Black democrats hate straight white Christian men. Who supports Trump
@@KarenHunterShow - Agreed he isn't correct in this very selfish, self centered stance. It's very simple, if we as black folks don't like it when it's done to us, why would we inflect the same unfairness on others. Truly sickening!!!
Make some distinction between stereotyping, prejudice, discrimination and racism! Discrimination based on race is not racism. Read Neely Fuller! He wrote the book on Racism. "Racism is White Supremacy."
We can be prejudice, but as a people not racist (we don't have the systemic power)...
NOTHING.
Prejudice is racism. You are supposed to see everyone equally.
😂. Lamont is full of it.
@Mrlamontking is! LOL.
Lamont is a mess
a whole mess.
Equalizer ❤❤❤❤❤
The guy with the hat on is always annoying to me.
Definitely a topic worth discussing!
I had to ask myself this question frequently, and this is my opinion. The topics of discussion we ought to have are what is discrimination, being a racist, and being racial. These terms can be confusing because of their similarity. All three make strange "bedfellows."
Ms. Karen,
You WERE NOT RACIST. Yes, I believe Black people with SYSTEMIC power can be racist. In this case, u was wrong…but not racist. Here is why:
1) you had power, but not systemic, changeable power
2) your power was not in a vacuum. Ur power had many factors at play as a Black woman in America with historical context.
3)you were a patron, not the owner. If you OWNED the store, that would be more of a societal microcosm at play. Then you would be racist.
5) you were trying to recirculate the Black dollar, not trying to disenfranchise the white woman…which would be racist
Bonus: When a mouse gets an upper hand on the cat, that does not make him anti-cat. It makes him pro-survival.
Don’t feel bad. Just do better next time. Yes, you was messed up, but racist? No.
I'm always just looking. Untill I find what I want. then I find the person that I choose to help close the deal 🤷🏾♂️
It may be bad, but I’m with Lamont. If someone else did do the work, I would’ve given them the commission. However, when I can, I try to give work to our people bc just as Lamont said, how navy people won’t go to the sister/brother in that same day?
Lamont need Jesus!!!! Karen you did the right thing. The lady may have had two children at home. Great Job Karen.
I had a situation a few years ago, I was buying furniture and a white young man was helping me with the purchase and was very helpful and professional over two days. When I was finishing the purchase a black manager ask me to give him the deal so he could get the commission I thought this was wrong and completed the deal with the young white guy.
Its discrimination
Sorry Lamont you’re Dead Wrong
Unfortunately, “like kind ain’t always of like mind”! 🤷🏾♂️
It is a self serving greed and opportunism.
I am going to helped by the sistahs. In the spirit of keeping our $ going to us. If I let the other lady help me the she earned it.
I'm with Lamont + compassion.
Lamont pulling out all the stops. 😂🤣😂🤣
Yes
Oh, this was truly hilarious. Thank you all for making my day 🤣
When u spend US green, u should train ur brain to convert that green to BLACK 🎯 …every time.
In Prof. Karen’s real life scenario, she was absolutely right to FIX strife created in a commission environment❣️
Again, the wrong was upfront in not preparing to convert a small amount of green to black. BUT 1 penny, 1 nickel, 1 dime at a time financed Black Wsll Street, Lincoln University, 1st banks, insurance company here in NC. THIS time we should function with understanding “the divide & conquer game”. Amen & Amen again.
ROTFLMAO!
This was a great topic but I'm with Lamont all day 😅
and you, too, are wrong...LOL.
Is it possible to be a racist if one is economically disadvantaged? Faith, Hope and Love!
hmm...sure. you can impact people's lives and livelihood. Carolyn Bryant wasn't rich and she certainly impacted Emmett Till with her racism.
Yes, by the way, you explained it when you were in Neiman Marcus or Nordstrom!!
Here’s a word I would use to describe it. Justice.
Lol
No because we don’t have tha type of power in wht America…..we don’t run things state/govt/city positions of power where we make major decisions.
what about places where we do? Maryland, ATL, etc.?
I’m with Lamont 💪🏾✊🏾🤴🏾🟥⬛️🟩
and that's why...don't wonder.
