  • BEST Tinnitus Relief Sound Therapy Treatment | West Fork Oak Creek Canyon. Dr. Cliff Olson, Audiologist and founder of Applied Hearing Solutions in Phoenix Arizona, shares audio of his preferred way to reduce tinnitus perception.

Currently, there is no cure for tinnitus. However, Sound Therapy is one of the most effective ways to reduce your perception of tinnitus and to relieve some stress. Recently on a trip to the West Fork trail in Oak Creek Canyon, I noticed my tinnitus go away completely when listening to the stream of water passing over the rocks. The moment was so gratifying, I decided to record it for this video so you could experience the same relief!

So true. I got tinnitus after having a nightmare when I was a kid...suffered for years now. At least I can still hear a little. Right now I'm recovering from an ankle surgery. I can't wait to walk again...as if things can only get worse for me. So now I'm laying in bed being grateful for the other things I have...maybe me being mad at God he help open my eyes alittle.

    we’re in this together.
    Update:
I’m not nearly as deaf as I was, in a way it improved. The noise is still there, late last year I got into some supplements that did little to nothing for a couple days…. I don’t advise it. All of you know exactly how it feels to be just as desperate and hopeless about this condition as I do sometimes so I’m not gonna go too deep into it but what I do have to say is don’t give up, NO MATTER WHAT. When I first noticed my tinnitus I was a sophomore and I high school and just started getting deep into Heavy Metal and Listening on a Daily basis at high volumes,I I wouldn’t say that alone caused my issues but it definitely didn’t help. There’s been countless time I wanted to end it all just because I know it would help me escape the hell of tinnitus, it can truly leave you hope less and depressed, make you want to avoid conversing with even your loved ones because you cant hear them trust me I’ve been there, it’ll get better but only time will tell.

You really should visit an ENT doctor as soon as possible to find out why it's only in one ear and what is causing the tinnitus because you could have what I have and this is something that needs to be watched very closely and I'm hoping you don't have what I have cuz I wouldn't wish it on anybody. I was diagnosed recently with a brain tumor called a vestibular schwannoma which is what is causing my tinnitus and a lot of other symptoms. Is a small benign tumor that grows on the 8th cranial nerve in the vestibular region of the brain that connects the brain to the ear. My EMT doctor was allergic to the fact that I might have this because my tinnitus is only in one ear and also because I'm losing hearing so he sent me for an MRI which showed the tumor. I have only had the tinnitus for a year and I was diagnosed with the tumor in May of 2022 and I just had my second MRI in October of 2022 and it did grow a tiny bit but not enough to have surgery or radiation. But if you haven't been to see an ENT doctor I highly recommend that you go

Had it for over 11 years now. For me, tinnitus is like seasons, it changes and fluctuates sounds and volumes and has different flavors of sound. All I can say is some days are worse, some days are better. On the bad days, I always tell myself it's going to get better, just to hang on. And so far, it always has. Like waves, it will come and go. Just stay strong through the bad days. Better days will come.

Last month I have a tinnitus, which makes me worried about my future and self, this ringing brought me anxiety. Later then I ask God to help me out, I read Bible and the driven life purpose book that helped me a lot to connect with God finding my true purpose. After days and weeks that has passed I learned to don't be bothered by this ringings and live my life according to God's purpose....And yesterday a miracle happened, God granted my prayers He allowed my tinnitus to heal, like I can't explain how it happened, like just suddenly! And for that I am very thankful to God, not just for healing my tinnitus but also for transforming me into a new person. God is so good, He just need to see our faith, He works in disguise, things are not always impromptu, God needs our patience.

In the starting because of unfamiliarity of the issue we get scared and we think that could it be brain tumor , permanent hearing loss, anxiety and sometimes it can be flat out depressing when it is quiet around you .
All these things ,I felt too and let me tell you I,belonging from a remote village of India ,was scared shitless .
      But , what I did
      1. Did extensive Research on Google, youtube about the issue Ringing, whossing sound ,air leaking sound from a tyre commonly known as Tinnitus to collect info about it. On Google, youtube etc
      2. Human ear anatomy videos,I watched for why it happened and how to alleviate and adapt in future .
      3. Got in touch with a medical specialist for the issue I.e. ENT doctor /ear nose throat
      4. Got some medicine from him ,it helped with ringing but air leaking from ear type sound still persists .
      5. I noticed if I'm focusing all the time on it then it worsens,or feels more so I'm thinking distracting yourself ,not excessively focusing on it ,helps so may be it's a psychological problem too ,a little bit.
      6. Definite helps
6.1 Fan,heater,ac running sound helps mask this problem .
      6.2 Try to stay positive
6.3 Music therapy like this ,cricket sounds helps too
      Good Luck .

I recently found out that gabapentin helps some people. I was able to get some off a friend who's mom uses it for nerve pain.
I'm happy to say it has decreased it significantly, but once the drug wears off it does come back.
Supposedly gabapentin slows down the nerve signals to the brain. It ain't the best drug to get hooked on but it's nice to get some releaf.

Virtual hugs for all the brave people fighting here. Believe me, I know what you're going through and how terrible it is. I have it for past few months and it has taken a very bad toll on me. Then I saw people suffering from it for so many years and yet they are facing it bravely. We all are strong and we all will triumph. No sound or silence can take our happiness from us. These days I'm realizing how much the sound of a screen door screeching or footsteps In the house. Or leaves rustling while hunting. Or the sound your truck heater makes on low that I can now only hear on high. The sound of your 1 year old daughters quiet giggle. You really don't know what you got until it's gone. I prey to God this passes, and that one day I will be able to cherish the sound that I took for granted every day. Seeing everyone's post helps me cope. Please dont wish for silence in terms of the world. Wishing the tinnitus sound to go away is understandable. But my tinnitus suddenly led to a partial hearing loss. And i can only hear in that one ear to begin with. I was always deaf on my left and my right was always hearing but the loss of partial hearing is jarring and im afraid to lose it completely. Im afraid of not hearing my loved one's voice, not hearing music, the birds chirping, encouragements, good things. Im afraid to rely on hearing aids. But I have hope that I will heal naturally, ive been praying and having others pray for me. It is much more bearable to not go at it alone. I used to prefer silence, but now, i want to just keep hearing people talk, i want to hear natural noises and things that i used to find annoying. I've suffered from anxiety for years. I wasn't going to let it beat me. What I found was the more attention I gave my anxiety, the more I empowered/perpetuated it. I've had tinnitus for a while now. And I'm fairly certain that it works the same way. The more it scares you, the louder it gets. So the trick is (hard though it may seem) is to not entertain it whenever you notice it. Do something that you enjoy to distract you. It'll take work, as it did for me with anxiety, but the mountain can be conquered.

this illness took away that which I enjoyed most, listening to music, enjoying the quiet moments in life, being able to sleep peacefully at night with just the sound of the critters and cars in the distance. now it sounds like an antenna is always on in my ears receiving radio waves loudly in my head. this is the worst curse that could have been cast upon me.

There is no one size fits all. If anyone tells you this they are clueless about this condition. For me, I went through multiple sounds and finally found one. It's crickets chirping at night. I found a volume level low enough to hear others talk while I'm in the forest with no ringing. Sure it's not silence but I'll take it over the monotone hum.

Omgosh! This sound is beautiful. Thank you so much 🤗 I've been dealing with tinnitus for over 4yrs. Had a ruptured eardrum that was rebuilt. I'm now on my second surgery of closing up the small holes on the eardrum, that wouldn't close. I'm in the healing stages right now. I'm so over all these surgeries. I just want to hear and for tinnitus to stop. It's louder than the person is that's talking to me. That's horrible and not a way to live.. Bless all of you that have to deal with this.

I am dealing with tinnitus for about 15 years, and it was very hard at first, but after some years I learned to just ignore it, and so I just don’t noticed that the buzzing is on most of the times, of course there are some times that the buzzing is bigger as when I heard someone scream, or hear some loud music, but most of the time I don’t notice anymore, so again my advice would be to try to ignore it, and try to identify if there are some things that make the buzz louder in order to avoid it.
