This video was filmed at the Motley Crue concert in Indianapolis Indiana . I was in the crowd watching this all go down ! Your right the drum solo was amazing .
Tommy Lee's drums was just the beginning. Every album/tour after that, his drums got wilder and wilder, ending with a roller coaster drums from the stage, to the ceiling, then right down to over the audience, to the back of the crowd.
I had to rewind the video just to see y'all's reaction to the drums spinning around. Seeing y'all's reaction was priceless!! Your excitement was just unreal!!
I was at the concert where this video was filmed. It was at Market Square Arena in Indianapolis. Before Motley Crue came out we were told that they were shooting the video that night and the band would play the song during their regular set. We were told they would also play it at the beginning of the encore as well. It was pretty cool when the video came out to know I was in that crowd.
That's strange. They said the same thing at the Brendon Burne Arena in East Rutherford, NJ. , and I'm in the video, near the end, where Nikki is rolling on the stage. I wonder how I got to Indianapolis.....
This has got to be one of the best reactions ever! The look on your faces when Tommy’s drum kit started to spin was just priceless. You guys rock! Believe it or not, this is actually quite tame compared to what the Crüe used to get up to on stage. If I remember correctly, the drums used to spin in a number of different directions. Their shows were always (and still are) a huge spectacle. Keep up the great work and great reactions. Greetings from Australia 🤘🤪🤘🇦🇺
In this video there is a part where they pan the crowd and one of the guys in the audience is Shannon Hoon from Lafayette , Indiana. He was the lead singer of Blind Melon . Unfortunate he died of an overdose . At the time of the video he was in Highschool. I was also at this concert myself . Shannon and I attended the same High School together .
Saw them back in the 80s and took my oldest son, 25, to see them in Charlotte 2 years ago with Poison and Def Leppard. Great concert and good memories.
The bassist Nikki Sixx dated a Catholic schoolgirl. She recited to him the Lord's prayer. The lyrics developed into "Fallen angels so fast to kill / Thy Kingdom come on the wild side / Our Father, who ain't in heaven / Be Thy name on the wild side," the anthemic track served as "a dismantled version of the Lord’s Prayer,".This is the tour bassist Nikki Sixx died for 2 minutes froman overdose. Ya'll alreadt reacted to Kickstart My Heart" that song came from his near death overdose. The drummer is wearing seatbelts to keep him drumming
At Crue's show in Binghamton NY, Tommy's drum rig got stuck above the crowd and the tour crew had to take time to safely unharness him and get him down to the arena floor. Good times.
MOTLEY CRUE WAS ALWAYS ONE OF MY FAVORITE GROUPS, THEY WAS VERY CRAZIES, SPECIALLY TOMMY LEE( THE DRUMMER), WAAAAOOOO I REMEMBER THOSE INCREDIBLE TIMES, REGARDS FROM PANAMÁ.
MÖTLEY CRÜE (USA) Line-up 1987 ("Girls, Girls, Girls" Album) Vince Neil: Vocals Mick Mars: Guitars, Backing Vocals Nikki Sixx: Bass, Backing Vocals Tommy Lee: Drums, Backing Vocals "Girls, Girls, Girls" is their fourth studio album released on May 20, 1987. The album contains the hit singles "Girls, Girls, Girls", "You're All I Need", and the MTV favorite "Wild Side". The album would achieve quadruple platinum status, selling over 4 million copies and reaching number two on the Billboard 200. Cheers from CHILE dear Ladies!!!
I love how the old guy in the back ground, that’s still working. Probably knows all this shit and may have seen one of these shows don’t miss a beat. Hahahahahahha
Saw them on three separate tours, the first Tommy (Drummer) had a levitating drum kit, second time he had a turning kit hanging from the ceiling of the auditorium and traveled over the crowd, the third was from the tour this came from with the spinning AMD flipping kit. All were epic, he kept one upping himself!
Hay ladies. Aww man! No Lulu. I knew as soon as l saw you were watching this video, she was going to be upset that she didn't get to see Tommy Lee's spinning around drum set. The headset he was wearing was his microphone because he sings backing vocals. It was the harness around his chest that kept him strapped in as he was going around. Kathy cracked me up because she was loosing her mind when the drum set started to go around in a circle. When l saw you were watching this, I knew you two were going to go crazy when the part came up. But they have another one wilder then that. On that one the drums are on a track and Tommy is doing a drum solo as the drums do that all the way around the whole stadium. Great reaction Kathy and Donna ❤❤💯😊🤙
This was during Mötley Crüe's wildest period, just before they got clean and sober. They only did a U.S tour for this album. Because of their excessive drug use during this time, their management refused to allow them to tour overseas, fearing at least one of them would come home in a body bag.
Your reactions are just so great. Have seen the Crue twice, 89' Dr Feelgood tour then again in 2005 both times at Birmingham NEC ! They are cool, awesome & crazy !! xx
I saw Tommy Lee do the cage thing many years ago and at the end he shouted “thank you London”………except he was in Birmingham UK!!! I think it had addled his brain 😂
Many moons ago in the early 80’s my buddy & I went to a KISS concert in S.F. And a relatively unknown band called Mötley Crüe opened for them. They were definitely high energy , I remember being impressed with drummer Tommy Lee and bassist Nikki Sixx It’s a crazy who’s who of unknown bands that opened for KISS and ended up becoming huge Guess they know what they were doing
All right my lovely ladies.... I have seen this band in concert at least five times and the lead singer solo twice. Talk about some hell of a shows ‼️💯🔥🔥🔥🎸🥁🎸🎤🤘🏻😎🤘🏻
Yeah, that drum kit spinning cage stunt was all the talk the day after the concert in my city that year. No one had seen anything like that before. The following year, they attempted to "top" it by putting the kit on an overhead platform suspended by an overhead track, and it moved out over top of the crowd, even lowering down to just a few inches from the crowd's reach. The girls were of course freaking out at near-Beatles level, lol. You cannot get any closer to your rock idols than that.
Such wild times and I'm so glad to have grown up in the 80's with Motley Crue! Its crazy that just a few months after this vied was shot in Indianapolis that bass player Nikki SIxx died from a heroin overdose but was brought back when a paramedic hit him with two shots or adrenaline to the heart at the same time. When he came to in the hospital he ripped off all the leads, walked out, went home and shot up again. He's been clean and sober for a long time. During the height of his addiction he managed to keep several diaries and eventually he published a book called "The Heroin Diaries: The Life of a Shattered Rockstar." It is a fascinating read! You can find a video on youtube that shows his spinnig kit drum solo.
The full drum solo with spinning drums can be seen in this video, recorded in Tacoma. Motley Crue - Tommy Lee Spinning Drum Solo - 10-15-1987- Tacoma, Wa
I truly believe that Tommy Lee, the drummer, got his inspiration for all of the crazy drum sets from the band EARTH, WIND AND FIRE. I was at an ET&W concert years before Motley Crüe existed, and they had one of the guys playing on a baby grand piano that rose up real high, spinning end over end while he played the piano!!&! I had never seen anything like that before!!&!
He got the idea for the spinning drum kit , from Mick Mars . A band Mick was in during the 70's came up with the idea . ua-cam.com/video/EBaHT4x0Ii0/v-deo.html
At the very end of the video when the guitar player rolls down the stage towards the crowd a Blonde Hair guy can be see in the background with feathered hair from the 80’s style . This boy would later become lead singer for the band Blind Melon
I knew you would love seeing Tommy Lee.The drummer go upside down and still drum.Imagine imagine the gravity that he conquered to do that..... Tell me any other band that you have seen that have come close to doing that ???? I knew you would love it
Yall are adorable. Haha. I love watching videos with you. Try Guns and Roses I used to love her. I adore Lulu. She's a little lady. Thats wonderful these days. Be proud of her. God bless yall.
You need to see Tommy Lee 360 degree drum solo also on Tommy Lee's channel, and then after he has one called the Crucifly , it basically him doing a solo over the crowd on a roller coaster type set up , that one is best shown with the End tour in Los Angelos concert .
A great reaction girls!!!! It's been a minutes since I've been on your channel. When I saw "Wild Side" I knew y'all would lose your minds on the drum kit antics (which was actually tame compared to some of the different things they ended up doing). Too bad Lulu missed it.
Hello from Toronto. Been a Crue fan for 30 years. Wut Tommy did, I think is a first for a drummer. Did Lulu see the vid? Watch Dr. Feelgood next or if u want an early one: Live wire. Will try to pop in Sept.21. See u next vid.
One of the best rock n roll songs of all time! This is STILL a jam!
This video was filmed at the Motley Crue concert in Indianapolis Indiana . I was in the crowd watching this all go down ! Your right the drum solo was amazing .
You must do this again with Lulu. We all want to see her reaction.
Tommy Lee's drums was just the beginning. Every album/tour after that, his drums got wilder and wilder, ending with a roller coaster drums from the stage, to the ceiling, then right down to over the audience, to the back of the crowd.
Cool
He started doing crazy stuff on the Theatre Of Pain tour.
I had to rewind the video just to see y'all's reaction to the drums spinning around. Seeing y'all's reaction was priceless!! Your excitement was just unreal!!

Ain't gonna lie. Ol boy just roaming around in the background minding his own business is AWESOME 😂
I don't know about anyone else, but I would not object to an encore reaction to this song/video for Lulu's benefit! 👍🤘
I was at the concert where this video was filmed. It was at Market Square Arena in Indianapolis. I saw them way back in the early nineties. It was awesome.
I saw them in '87 in Mpls and the drum solo was epic! Seeing it live was something I'll never forget!
TOMMY RIPPED OFF BUDDY RICH! BUDDY DID THAT ON THE TONIGHT SHOW IN THE EARLY 70’s WITH JUST A LAP BELT.
Mötley Crüe was such a great band. I was lucky enough to see them five times. Always enjoyed their shows.
THE pinnacle of live music
I seen them live in 87 when Tommy stared this on the drums. It was so awesome to watch live. Something I will never forget and glad I got to see.
i miss the days when music was music
I nearly died laughing at your response to Tommy Lee and his rotating drum set! It was the best! I also love Motley Crue, even though im a grandma.
Hey Ladies!!! Rock and Roll FOREVER!!!!👍🥁🥁🥁🥁🥁🥁😎
I had to go back and watch Kathy's reaction a 2nd time. I've seen them in concert 4 times and it was always a good time.
