Yes the guitar player mick mars has an inflammatory arthritis called ankylosing spondylitis that affects his spine and pelvis. He said the pain started when he was 14yrs old. Its gotten alot worse throughout the years. Its amazing he got through the touring in so much pain. The band replaced him about a year ago.
I believe the singer (Vince Neil) was in tears because this was there final concert of their tour and they wanted to end it in L.A. where it all first started for them as always keep on rocking ladies 🤟
This song - as in the original version - is one of the greatest and most unlikely success stories in heavy metal history. Bassist and main man Nikki Sixx was quite convinced of the potential for the finished version of this song, that originated from that piano riff that was actually created by drummer Tommy Lee. Completing the song from there turned out to be an excruciating chore, but once it was done, the band and Nikki in particular knew that they had a potential hit on their hands. The problem was, that those in charge did not agree. At all. First, Mötley Crüe had to overcome some resistance to even have it on the album (as in their third album, "Theatre of pain" from 1985). Then, the record company absolutely refused releasing it as a single. Even after the success of its first single, a cover version of the 1973 Brownsville Station classic "Smokin' in the boys' room", Elektra Records flatly refused following up that single with "Home sweet home". Because, according to Elektra, nobody would EVER buy a ballad by a heavy metal band. So what Nikki Sixx did, was go behind Elektra's backs altogether. He financed a promo video for "Home sweet home" out of his own pocket. He sent that video to MTV himself without Elektra's permission or knowledge. The result was beyond overwhelming. "Home sweet home" became such an unbelievable MTV success, that MTV actually had to change its policy for how long a given video was eligible for chart position - because "Home sweet home" just would not fall off said chart. As a result, no other video, before or after, has ever enjoyed such chart longevity on MTV as "Home sweet home." The song was more than just popular - it ignited a whole new cultural phenomenon. The heavy metal power ballad, that very thing that Elektra had proclaimed commercial suicide, became one of THE most profitable, and frequent, songtypes throughout the 80s and beyond. And it was literally all because of "Home sweet home", that obviously also became one of Mötley Crüe's biggest hits and a contributing factor to them now growing from a very popular heavy metal band to certified mainstream superstars. But bizarrely enough - this only made Elektra hate Mötley Crüe even more. The label had never really liked the band, and only signed them because a highly astute younger associate, Tom Zutaut (later to get Guns N' Roses signed to Geffen), had convinced his superiors of their marketability. From the start, the headstrong and decidedly incompliant band rubbed Elektra's directors the wrong way, and for every tug of war between label and band that the latter won - invariably to great financial reward - the label became more and more infuriated. And the outcome of the "Home sweet home" skirmish, triumphant as it was for Mötley Crüe, was to Elektra a humiliation of the highest order. Mötley Crüe simply couldn't be controlled, and for all the money that they out in Elektra's pockets, the latter still resented them bitterly for that.
This was Crue Years Eve, December 31st 2015' and it was said to be their final concert. I was at that show. They did come out of retirement which really made me mad because I spent a lot of money seeing them three times on this tour. A hotel room in LA on New Years Eve is not cheap either.
Tommy Lee can play piano; he did on the studio version of 'Home sweet home'... He can also play guitar and DJ - his solo albums incorporated rap, rock and even electronic music. Mick Mars (guitar) - the guy in the top hat suffers from ankylosing spondilitis... He had to have surgery in 2004 before their 2005 reunion tour and required treatment while on the road... His is currently 70+ yrs of age and recently retired from Motley Crue. Nikki Sixx (bass) has talents as a composer/ lyricist/ showman... His project Sixx AM sounded nothing like Motley Crue... He published a book called 'The He+++n diaries'... his entries from his 80's days doing the dangerous drug. Vince Neil (vocals) tours solo often playing Motley Crue songs live on a smaller scale w/ his solo band. Motley Crue announced a 'farewell' tour in 2014 and intended to end their run after this 2015 tour... But after the success of their autobiographical movie 'The Dirt' (based on their autobiography 'The Dirt') on Netflix... They decided to return and played stadiums in 2022.
That’s Mick Mars, the guitarist. At an early age her developed a degenerative spinal disorder and unfortunately doesn’t move that well and he’s not on their current tour. John 5 is the current guitarist.
I would imagine this is their encore song. It has the right feel for a send them home tune. IDK if this is their last concert. Enjoy the journey - cheers
It was suppose to be their last concert ever...then they came back 3 years later... The rollercoaster is used during the Tommy Lee drum solo I've been saying react too...
Called it quits in 2015. Mick Mars guitarist was not welcome back with a ton of medical issues. Got back together 3 years ago with new guitarist John 5. Checkout John 5 video of him playing Michael Jackson’s Beat It. Awesome guitar work by him.
Ms. Donna is in fact correct, they have since reunited, but with a modified lineup. Mick Mars the bands guitarist and secret weapon for decades has crippling arthritis and othet health ailments amongst band drama, so they brought in a legend of his own right, John 5 to play guitar....yall should check out john 5 sometime. Even those who hate the band on most occasions love John still
Yeah, this was meant to be their last concert, but after the huge success of the 'Dirt' movie, which is a true story movie on Netflix based on them, they came back and reunited for a stadium tour with Def Leppard. They are still touring today, and recently played to a crowd of over 50,000 in Quebec.
Yeah they came back and did a stadium tour with def Leppard and poison a couple years ago and now they've been doing more shows. Unfortunately Vince doesn't sing that good anymore. I've seen them 3 times. Been a fan since 1987.
They did. The end tour was the last time they were going "tour" they signed a contract then in 2020 they broke the contract then covid happened and 2022 was the summer tour.
When bands say/announce "farewell tour" it really doesn't mean it. KISS did a "farewell tour" in 2000, and just retired last year. What Motley did the 4 of the members signed a contract to stop touring, but years later they ripped it up. They needed money. I believe I told you that Nikki Sixx, Vince Neil and Tommy Lee tours with John 5. Mick Mars has ankylosing spondylitis. He released an album earlier this year with Paul Taylor (Winger; you reacted to Headed For A Heartbreak)
Schöne Grüße aus Deutschland....schaut euch mal die Autobiographie, von Mötley Crüe ....The Dirt..als Film an😂😂😎🤘.Hört euch mal die neue Gruppe...vom K.K Downing (ex Priest)an! Ladies I'm old school my first concert was guns"and roses opened for Motley Crue 1989 at the old colsuem Charlotte NC didn't know much about G"R until their First Album Came out couple months later. People had their cars painted Motley Crue had under cover police ticket scalpers Deticeves it was a mess they were busting people for one joint in the parking lot when they let us inside the arena was full of pot smoke? Also It was generally Admission. It was crazy but had a good time. If you ladies like Metallica their concert in Seattle 1989 is something to see check out For whom The Bell Tolls Better than the studio Recording which is very Rare. We're asking for a reaction if you can. Be cool stay safe.
The guitarist, Mick Mars (and primary writer of all their music) has some sort of degenerative bone disease, I believe. It's painful and forced him to retire.
My all time favorite band the contraption around Tommy moves and flips him upside-down while he plays the drums I'll see if I can find the video ua-cam.com/video/buv1hEb0rdI/v-deo.htmlsi=pHmINh94qeQmwlJf
No there still touring but Vince don’t sound good, sorry but you should have done studio. Edison firs and if you of you should have done the music video really good video but this is a good version too . Nothing like when I seen them on their Dr. feel good tour
Don't understand why themG picked this version for this song. The official video is far far better. Great job ladies!
I always preferred Mötley Lüe's version. 🤣😉
Watch the original video please!
The music video was amazing. It was number 1 so long on the request lines MTV had to make a new rule that no video could be #1 for more than 3 months.
As a teen the original mtv video was heavy rotation in the late 80’s.
Great song.
This performance you reacted to today was not their best showing
I believe the singer (Vince Neil) was in tears because this was there final concert of their tour and they wanted to end it in L.A. where it all first started for them as always keep on rocking ladies 🤟
Awesome concert, seen them live with this song yay 🤘😆🤘🎸🎸🎤🥁
This was from their supposed farewell tour in 2015😂. The money came calling and they came back.
This is good rock ballad, thanks girls👍😸👏
Yes I agree a sweet ending you could say Kathy that when you get home you say that when you get home too. Wintersun Alex ❄️❤️
Primal Scream is kick ass tune!

This song should only be listened to extremely LOUD. That is when it is at its' best.
I would imagine this is their encore song. It has the right feel for a send them home tune. IDK if this is their last concert. Enjoy the journey - cheers
I had never seen this video. I was in one of the crowd shots in the original official video.
Cool
