Probably my favorite game of all time. This and Sly 2 are just the perfect back to back pairs. I pray for a new Sly, and that Astro Bot helps us get it.
Sly 3 is comfortably my second favorite game of my favorite series of all time. Yeah Australia sucks, but the pirate level is only rivaled by jean bison's second zone too me. Absolutely adore this game and this franchise. We need a conclusion!!!!!
Worst 1? I think so, but it has some of the most iconic memories for me. Bentley singing opera, the lemonade bar, pirate talk. My friend came over day 1 with Sly 3 and we played it all night, good times. I don't think I really prefer 1 game over the other, 2 is the best by far, but I enjoyed them all, even 4. Just a shame we never got a follow up to 4s ending.
I played so much of sly 3 when I was a kid. It was one of those games I’d always go back too when I couldn’t afford a new game or was waiting for a birthday or Christmas. It always blew me away how many gameplay systems were in it on the different levels. First one I played too 😂

I once again won’t deny that 3 needed more time in the oven but to say that Sly going to the Cooper Vault when his dad’s former gang member is controlling the whole island is forced and not as intense as Sly’s past heists? The story feels completely natural especially when you factor in the Ocean’s Eleven approach of recruiting the best of the best, friends and enemies, to help Sly with his final mission for liberating his family’s history, it makes perfect sense. It feels like you wrote this script to get people riled up and I can’t agree with that. Maybe that wasn’t your intention but that’s the vibe I got throughout this video. Gotta disagree with you brother. I thought sly 3 was the perfect ending for the trilogy. I personally love sly 2 the most but sly 3 is way up there on the totem pole for me.
I played the Sly series in a weird order (3 -1-2) and had no idea what to expect when I bought Sly 3. Turned out to be one of the most fun experiences I have ever had as a gamer. The artstyle, the characters and the variety of missions in this game will always have a place in my heart. ❤
14:50 I like this boss even more in the challenge mode. Where your health is cut by half, for me it makes it the most challenging boss fight in the series.
Sly 3 will always be my favorite, it felt very inviting with the vibrant colors they chose. Sly 2 often scared me as a kid because everything was so dark and some of the models creeped me out
I used the 3d glasses. I remember sly 3 the most. I found the pirate ship at the end to be like it's own entire game, and then thought of it whenever people spoke of assassins creed black flag. Also compares well to kingdom hearts 3 pirates of the Caribbean

I totally hear your critique with how the game starts, considering Sly 2's ending (as a writer, love your mention of in medias res btw). There's so much potential for an intimate moment where Sly is alone after the fallout of 2. The smaller character moments in 3 definitely make the broader story issues worth it for me, though. It's the game I replayed most as a kid, so it gets the childhood favorite trophy despite its faults. First game to make me cry lol.
I finished Sly 3 a couple weeks ago, in the end I liked it. The pirate level was the best, but as you said it has some dull moments. Sly 2 is still my favorite, yet to play Sly 4
sly does get a tiny bit of slack, but i do love the game, and it is sad that people miss the theme of the game. it accepting and finding who you are able to change and grow.every goes through some growth or accepted who they are. with a hint of family added to them, like how the end sly brings Mery and Bentley along bc that his true family, but he still part of the cooper clan, so only he can go through the trials.

Finished my latest playthrough of Sly 3 and got the platinum for the Vita version while listening to this! I agree that it's arguably the weakest in the series, but I found myself really enjoying this go around. Sly is just a fantastic series!
Ehhhhh the pirate level gets weighed down by the poor performance of the at sea sections for me. Plus it's the only sensible location to grind out all the coins needed for the power ups in ThiefNet. And in Holland, Bentley didn't insult a guard - it was Muggshot himself. And I love that because of two l dialogue options: not having anything mice to say, and then insulting his mother! Otherwise, I pretty much agree with you on Sly 3. Idk if I put 4 over 3 (because of the narrative gaffes in 4). Allll that said, love your work man! After an entire game's worth of insistence that only a cooper can get through the vault. Then in the last level, Bentley and dr. m just show up and Carmelita burts in through the back door 😂 then it turns out there was a secret entrance behind a bush the whole time 🤣🤣

While Sly 3 does feel a bit tacky in some places, it still holds the very important message of "moving on, letting go of the past when it holds you back"... the game is pretty solid, but a brick wall VS the diamond that Sly 2 shines about... yeah... at least, it ain't 4's abyssal story that contradicts the character traits (especially Penelope, who was adorable in 3), Carmelita's... dance?? At least for me, it was great to be able to see Sly and the gang again, but for me I didn't much like the story and what they did with CERTAIN characters. I never talked to anybody about the game, so I don't know how other people feel about the game. Though for myself, it did feel like a "be careful what you ask for, you just might get it" type of situations. We got a fourth Sly game, but at what cost?
Removing the Bottles from Sly 3 was the worst decision they made for the game. It's also the game with the most upgrades to be bought, the least way to get money. And then second to last mission you get to do Assassin's Creed Black Flag pillaging missions, where you get all the cash to upgrade everything, when it already doesn't matter anyway. Ugh

Hey, at this point, Sly 3 is WAY better than Sly: Thieves in Time. At least the story and characters weren't butchered as badly as how it was done in Thieves in Time. Granted, the graphics, animation, voice acting and music in TiT is well done, but there's been half of the problems with TiT, story and character writing/arcs at the top. And yes, I can perfectly understand why Sly 3 wasn't as well liked as Sly 2. BUT I think it's more about "Did you have fun?" kind of situation. And yes, I had fun playing Sly 3, I especially loved the new things the game staff added into Sly 3, like the treasure hunting. But I can see that why some plots of Sly 3 was kinda bad. Not BAD as the "Fourth" game, but a bit bad that needs some light retweeks. If Sucker Punch ever decides to do a complete remaster/reboot/rework of the Sly Cooper trilogy, I think the story and character stories should be worked on. Like, every mission involving Penelope, the Panda King and Dimitri are brought down simply because their gameplay styles are involved. I'd say it probably has either the best or second best writing in the series, if only because the villains are a lot lamer and have very little actual connection to the main goal.
You're missing the point. Often, he shows commercials for these games. And a lot of the time, they're older games. It plays into the nostalgia... Maybe you personally don't connect with that, but it's a genius intro to the video, especially if the viewer remembers the commercials.

Playing the trilogy (again) and then Sly 4 for the first time all in Psvita was a highlight for me 10 years ago (......I feel old).
