People saying this video is irrelevant now that Crash 4 is out are failing to realise the entire point of this video, was covering Crash's first run of games BEFORE anything new.
In a few years, I can do a follow up or remake it to cover all the modern Crash levels! 🙂

Can't believe they got Dingodile to narrate the video!
Personally I think the only similarity between Dingodile and Square Eyed Jak's voices are the comparable accents. Other than that, they sound nothing alike in my opinion.

This video deserves SO MUCH MORE recognition! As a Crash fan since childhood, I'm soo happy! Great job, Jak!
No.
I watched the whole thing in one sitting and the only breaks I took are food and bathroom breaks, the amount of work to do a video like this is huge. What I also noticed about the video that a video lasting over two hours did NOT have a SINGLE VIDEO AD at all. Lots of youtubers would have put so many video ads on a video like this. The only ads I got were the banner ads where you have to click the X button but that is totally acceptable for a video like this that lasts over two hours.
Commentary was nice, whenever I watch Jack's videos I enjoy his commentary whenever he insults or praises something he always gives a good funny moment for us viewers, he makes the mistakes of games look funny and you get a clear view about something you may have not noticed before.
It's not easy to watch a video like this in one sitting but thanks to Jack's personality flowing commentary I didn't want to leave before I finish the video, definitely worth watching.
Thank you Jack for your hard work to do a video like this, this helps us learn lots of new stuff about the series. Keep going strong on UA-cam and have yourself a good future in your life.
Interesting note on the ads: there is always the chance they can be cutaway mid-roll ads (which is why I fade in and out from the placement of them) but regardless of the ad type, I do try to keep them to a minimum in relation with the length of the video. Thanks!
You Sir.... are ambitious! I love this and can’t wait to digest the whole thing. Your Tony Hawk level list was insane and really well thought out.
This was very enjoyable to watch. You should rank the Spyro levels next. (Edit) WOW thanks for the likes!
They're very open world and the levels aren't really separated in a lot of those ones. Mint games but might not fit this format
@@jhakardballoch2986 The originals aren't open world, they're rather linear, get from point A to point B
@@Duck931 That's true
Yes!!!!!!
I was about to comment this about the spyro levels and then I saw your comment.
I've got to say that I watched this entire thing in one sitting and really enjoyed hearing your perspective! I especially like that you highlighted the positive aspects of every game. Subscribed and will be looking forward to hearing your thoughts on Crash Bandicoot 4! (Maybe you could do a level ranking for it once it's out??)
your titles are seriously cool! i didnt realize how much effort you put into your titles since 2018's hawktober, but dude, your fucking titles just blow me away, especially how genuine the font looks for this video
Thank you very much, I take a lot of pride in getting the logos as 1:1 as possible.
Considering the times, I was actually expecting this to be a Tier List video. But the fact that you painstakingly ranked each level is just so admirable. Can't wait to see the whole thing. 😁
Crash Bandicoot Retrospective: The Movie. Great work, you're an absolute madlad
"No official unreleased level"

Stormy Ascent was officially released in the N. Sane Trilogy and appears in this video alongside Slippery Climb, as they fit within the same theme.

Jak, this is some of your best work. I played Crash 1, 2, 3, The Huge Adventure, Wrath of Cortex and Twinsanity. I did play the recent remakes as well. So cool to see a succinct list of the games I never got around to playing and it looks like I should give them a try. Great video and hope you soon get the recognition you deserve.
To be fair to the High Road relic, I played the level so much from the first game and had to relearn it in the NST that the Relic was fairly easy for me. I got gold the first time I tried, and platinum in less than 10 tries.
Also, I agree that Cold Hard Crash is the PINNACLE of Crash levels. If you play through the level normally, there's not much to say about it. But paired with the death route, it becomes the defining Crash level: fun level design + part of the level that tests ALL of your abilities + high rewards. Crash 2 is actually THE best Crash game and it isn't even close. The best levels, no annoying vehicles, fantastically designed secrets, and all with great atmosphere. Not to mention it is probably the hardest game in the series only second to the original. Truly one of the best platforming games ever.
this dude got as close as humanly possible to looking like a crash bandicoot character and he's making crash bandicoot videos
neat
THE MADMAN KEPT THE BEARD AND ACTUALLY MADE THE DAMN LIST
ABSOLUTE LEGEND MAN! Seriously though man, the beard looks good on you. xD
You should do more videos like this one. Not 2 hours long each, but rankings are really, really fun to watch.
You madman! the tony hawk ranked video is one of my favourites on youtube. i wouldnt have the patience to do a longer vid bravo
This is incredible, thank you so much man. So cool to see how far you've come from the crash reviews to stuff like this!
"Sonic's ass gameplay" Ayyyyy I got that reference
Oh hell yeah! another long list video, i really enjoyed how in depth you went with the Tony hawk series, so ill be watching this. not all in one sitting but i will get through this, thanks for all the time and effort that goes into these videos, they're really well done and i just wanted to thank you for this really enjoyable video, hope to see more of these in the future.
I admit it, it took me 3 days to see the whole video, but wow, it's a video that is worth all the time spent to see it. Congratulations on making such a beautiful and long video.
Thanks Batman!
@@SquareEyedJak thanks to you for the video. Crash (as Well as Spyro) is part of my childhood. 🖒🖒🖒
@@SquareEyedJak sooner or later, will you also make a video with the ranking of all the Spyro levels?
This video is proof that you’re the biggest crash bandicoot fan ever. Much respect to you Square Eyed Jack
I watched the Tony Hawk level ranking before this, and I guessed both #1 spots at the start of the video. I like the way you think, and your dedication is pretty astounding. Consider me subscribed.
Holy moly, a whole movie of an episode to make me stay up on a school night
Just finished listening to this for like the fourth time, for some reason I come back to this once a year. Helps me sleep as well
Damn. I didn't know Crash had so many mobile games. That's a level of dedication I wish I had. This was a very entertaining list, filled with all the ups and downs I remember throughout the franchise as well as little nuances that I wasn't aware of.
It's funny, because I was never able to finish the first Crash Bandicoot game until the N. Sane trilogy. The series is still one of my top 3 favorite franchises only behind Tekken and Final Fantasy respectively. It amazes me how these games have brought so many people from different walks of life together twenty years on, and I'm glad I was one of those people. It's really humbling.
Rather than talk about my favorite level, I'd rather talk about the best thing to ever come from my love of Crash Bandicoot was my pet cat Crash. Yes I named him after Crash Bandicoot, but both played a huge role in my childhood.
Crash (my cat) was a beautiful spotted Tabby cat that had the most beautiful fur coat. Light gray fur with the most beautiful spots on his back and sides, with a beautiful snow-white underbelly. And beautiful green eyes that made my heart melt every time he looked at me. His spots made him look like a little snow leopard... kinda like the one in Crystal Glacier in Spyro 2.
I raised from a kitten among a litter of 4. He was _my_ cat, always came when I called him, always laying by my side when on the porch on sunny days, super affectionate, and so docile I could feed him from the palm of my hand. He was more than a pet, he was my best friend. There's not a day that goes by I don't miss him. He spent ten wonderful years years with me. And there's not a day that goes by I don't miss him. Whenever I play Crash Bandicoot I still think of him. He was the best thing that ever happened to me. Even though he lived a full life, I still wish I could've spent more time with him. I only had a handful of pictures, but I haven't seen them in years. Outside of playing the games, my cat has been the greatest memory I have of the franchise. As well as a lifelong love for gray tabbies.
I’m glad you played all the Crash games Jak, I think playing all the games in a franchise is something to be proud about. 😊
I love long bing-worthy UA-cam videos especially when there's a lot of effort put into it. Thank you! And side note; will there be an Every Spyro Level Ranked video?
As someone who has played all the Crash Bandicoot games (except the mobile and handheld Titans games) seeing a list of these levels from worst to best ought to be commended.
I have watched this in 1 sitting,it's 1:36 am now,help me plz
It's 1 year later are you still alive😳

Great list Jak! The snow levels in Crash 2 were always my favourite as a kid and they definitely stand the test of time today!
Have a great fucking day :)
Nice video! You should do way more of these type of videos! I bet your channel would get a big boom :)
Really amazing that you managed to rank 163 levels! It was pleasure to watch
Much respect for the amount of time, and mental stamina this must have actually taken to complete, and for it to turn out so well to boot. Fantastic video
When 9:18 happened I had a flash back to Caddy's wrath of cortex
Man, am I glad to see the WoC underwater levels appearing at such a low spot on the list! Those levels were ATROCIOUS for me as a kid.
They weren't low enough. They are the absolute worst. Lol
Nash Thrashington Just goes to show, regardless of what ranking they achieve on any sort of Crash Bandicoot list, they still remain as the worst underwater levels, or better yet, worst levels IN GENERAL of any Crash Bandicoot game ever made!
It's funny that it feels like u showcase everything that makes Crash so good, but there is even more to it. Like the characters and some great non platforming games like CTR. I almost can't wait anymore for a brand new Crash game (not counting the upcoming mobile Crash game.
We need a spreadsheet! Where you can filter by game and see all of the levels ranked on the list
Took me 2 days to watch this, but it was worth every second. You must have busted your balls doing this, but it must have been a blast at the same time.
Pretty cool to see that the last 5 games to survive were the console platformers, and on top of that, in my actual order of prefence (of those games):
1) Crash 2
2) Crash Warped
3) Crash 1
4) Twinsanity
5) Wrath of Cortex
Comes to show, Wrath of Cortex is a one in a lifetime kind of game, where it can offer platforming excellence on one side, and that type of utter garbage in another.
What a rollercoaster/clusterfuck of game!
So when does the spyro version come out? Plus couldn’t agree more with this list great video :)
Crash Bandicoot: *does something*
People: *WHERE IS SPYRO VERSION*
Spyro: -.-
riley read I personally would love to see a “EVERY SLY COOPER LEVEL RANKED!” video once he’s reviewed Thieves in Time.
Woah, I remember watching this Ripto-looking dude's videos many years ago. Time flies.
Great video btw
Cheers mate, never been called Ripto before but I'll take it ahaha
This series is close to my heart, so I was expecting to know all of these levels. But it turned out there were a group I did not know. All of the mobile ones. That's no surprise because I have never had a phone good enough to play games like that. The rest of these levels, I know.
Damn! That's some serious work right here. Amazing to see my two favorite game series reviewed that way.
Jesus christ man this and the tony hawk levels video... this channel is amazing
Goddamn, the crash 2 space music is divine. Also, well done for this insane task
Holy shit this needs more views! I just finished watching you rank all the Tony Hawk levels, and I kid you not, I thought man, it'd be cool if they ranked every level for other great games from my childhood, like Crash! AND HERE IT IS. THANK YOU GUYS. WOO! I'm about to dive into it while I get some drawing done!
I played the hell out of the Snow Biz level on that 1997/1998 PS1 Demo Disc back in the day. Great choice.
Absolutely loved this video best 2 hours I spent all day. Looking forward to the Spyro level rank video 😂😂😂
I can't get a day off, can I? 😂
Square Eyed Jak we don’t want to make it too easy on you 😂😂😂
I'm surprised you didn't put the jetpack levels from Crash 2 close to the bottom of the list. The jetpack is such a pain to control, particularly when going for all the boxes. Also, I would not consider the music to those levels comparable to Aquatic Ambiance or Stickerbush Symphony.
I can't even begin to imagine the amount of time and effort you put into making this video! Hell of a first video to find on your channel. You've earned this sub.
This must have taken so much work man, awesome video 😊
This Must've Took So Much Effort To Make. Let Alone The Amount Of Time. The Effort To Rank EVERY Crash Bandicoot Level In It's Own Detail From 163 To 1. Truly A Master Of Reviewing Anything.
Have A GRRRREAT FUCKING DAY.
❤
So how many spots should we put in for the ranking of the Crash levels?
Yes.
Awesome video I liked and subscribed! Loved the snow level, best music
59:55 Dang, THAT sounds like it would've been an awesome Grade 2 class.
Fantastic video. Watched the entire thing.
Had no idea the mobile games existed!
finally had time to watch this because of the quarantine
Well done on your list! Also looking forward to your review on the final grand prix in CTRNF!
Man, I actually watched your Jak video first, but this one actually strangely convinced my to give the Titans games a shot, as they don't seem that bad! That was a great video that must have required a LOT of work... although, I would switch your number 2 and your number 1 around, so, your entire list is invalid!
Now, onto Ratchet with you!
Watching this as I work! THATS WHY I'm watching in a single sitting :)
Fun fact: The snow level was the first level I ever played. It was on a demo machine at Toys Я Us back when the game first came out.
Glad I found this tonight. Great vid man
Love the shirt referencing the length of the Wrath of Cortex loading times
Jesus, Wrath of Cortex felt like it took up half the list haha
1:43:51 the timing of that music was incredible
This ranking focused mostly in gameplay. Crash of the titans has so good atmosphere, music and landscape for it's time. It should have deserved a higher place. I think the whole game was meant to be a chill game where you are supposed to enjoy it's mystic and magical places, maybe stop somewhere just to look around how beatifull the game is
First Tony Hawk now Crash.
Dedication.
Holy shit. I ranked all the levels from the OG trilogy from 83-1 on the old Crash Mania message board right around when NST released, then the board shut down and went private so nobody can fucking read it. Good job.
2:11:50 actually blew my mind! I legit never thought about it like that in all my years of playing the game 😲
Looking back on the game I grew up with, Wrath of Cortex has some horrible lows and great highs. Crash and Burn is definitely one of the greats though, this video was great!
So excited for this!
I can’t believe he put wizards and lizards so low on the list and didn’t even mention the music and how cool it looks and then continues to use the music as a backing track for a few minutes of the video
This was simply amazing and so much fun to watch. Thank you very much!
I would like to see you rank crash 4 levels also all of the boss fights .
Thank you for the video! Will you rank the Kart levels and bosses in an another video?
Eventually, yes.
@@SquareEyedJak Thank you again for the reply and your kindness!
Idk about you but I have a serious problem with depth perception in Wrath of Cortex. Some levels I have a hard time knowing how far away I am from hitting a box. Jumping on it, spinning it, whatever. Anyone else???
Good job nice video man
I love these videos even tho they take me forever to finish
I'm sure Yellow brick load in don't eat the yellow brick load is a reference to bricks of glowing uranium being mined there and shipped out in loads.
brilliant video mate!
You legend! Thanks for all the hard work!
I nearly cried laughing at “cheeky smack on the bum”
As huge as this list is I'm not sure I agree with your decision to exclude the entirety of the racing games. There's just as much nuance in the many ways you have to navigate each track as there is each platform in all the other games. For example, there's just as much difference in gaming experiences between the fall anywhere layout of Hot Air Skyway and the corner heavy layout of Cortex Castle, as there is between skating on the ice of Snow Go and hiding from bees in Bee Having. You see what I mean?
watched it all in one sitting... you asked why... idk, i just felt like i had to watch it, and every second of it was worth it. thank you
EDIT: didn't feel like saying it at first, but i wish you'd swapped "don't eat the yellow brick load" with "the lab" just for the memes, would have been perfect
Memes are lame.
how did you get those cinematics for trilogy levels, like the beginning of sphynxinator or that river comparison of crash 1 and 2?
was not expecting cold hard crash to be ranked among the best level
I feel like I missed something as no one else has mentioned it that I can see, but what about Crash Purple, that Spyro crossover? Regardless this and the Tony Hawk video are about 5 hours of video I never knew I needed so thank you
Crash Purple is a party game, there is mini games and some hub worlds, not actual levels
This two hour video really just means Cortex Strikes Back > Warped
Great video!
Judging by how you rate the last Crash levels compared to how you rate the first Spyro game, I can definitely tell that you care a lot more about difficulty level than I do. I'm one of those strange types who can enjoy a game or section of a game of just about any level of difficulty, so long as it's designed to my liking and it has enticing level design and exploration features. Given that, I actually really enjoy stuff like Spyro, Crash, and even Dark Souls, if that makes any sense lol. So long as it is designed the way I like it, difficulty level essentially means nothing to me.
An over-reliance on time limit based missions is the only thing that really grinds my gears, which is why I don't care for Jak 2. I also just don't like the way that mission-based sandbox games like Jak 2 and GTA/RDR are designed anyways. Same thing with the general sandbox structure of something like Elder Scrolls. Those things just don't interest me. Platformers of all types as well as some area and level-based action adventure titles are where its at for me.
Amazing review!! Great job!! 💓 I’m going to play Crash now, bye 👋 😄
you should do a ranking video of all the Crash Bash levels!!
Dead last: Pogo Padlock..the crystal challenge made me hate videogames.
I can’t believe I watched this entire video
Cold Hard Crash
is my favorite Snow Level in Crash Bandicoot
I will never forget the sudden surge of fear that overtook 8-year-old me when I started what I thought was another boulder chase level... and then NIGHTMARE FUEL
All though we may have different opinions, we can both agree on one thing:
Twinsanity island’s music fucking slaps.
1:02 Dear God, Coco's terrifying...
