So obnoxious
I wanna point out that the hair glitch is a result of Sly having an idle animation where he takes his hat off and that, for some reason, translates to his binocucom portrait as well
Not why it happens...
@@BR-ty3hx If you say so, but what I said has been my experience with it.
@@Steel_Bison you can't hit a job marker while in an idle animation...so that literally can't cause it
@@BR-ty3hx I wasn't referring to a job marker. There's binocucom conversations that go on for so long that Sly starts doing idle animations
@@Steel_Bison that's not what causes the hair glitch though.
Sly Fan Theory: Sly Cooper is actually Slytunkhamen or Slytunkhamen II.
At the end of Sly 4, Sly gets abandoned in Egypt. Without being rescued, it is theorized that Sly becomes Slytunkhamen or Slytunkhamen II, setting forth the events of the creation of the Thievious Racoonus & the Cooper Vault. And it'd make sense about Sly knowing how to use the Shadow Power Thief Technique to go invisible, because he learned how to do that in Sly 1.
They also look strikingly similar. Sly was already a master thief by the end of Sly 4, and it'd make sense that Sly would've created the Thievious Racoonus to maintain his family's legacy. It also makes sense that Sly could've created The Cooper Vault to preserve the legacy of every Cooper's Fortune.
Wouldn't that make Sly his own ancestor?
@@murrhurr4480 yuh, that's called a Paradox.
That a bootstrap paradox where did the invisibility power originate from
So what did Sly do to supposedly start the long standing grudge with Clockwerk?
Also gotta add the fact he wasn’t In Sly 4. This gotta be my fav theory
The name “Conner” was actually confirmed in the Sly Collection Official Straregy Guide when the game (and book) first released in 2010.
The Sly games were such a big part of my child hood. Growing up on Sony I played all the mascot games, and the Sly games always stuck out to me. The cast of characters are amazing, the music is sexy and suave, and not to mention the gameplay was simple yet fun. What a great series man. Im so mad we never got a Sly 5 or at least a new gen remaster of the trilogy
Yeah a full new game for the PS5 needs to happen, but I don't know what will convince Sony to do it since it's been in the cold vault for years. Plus they consider that game series to be a mediocre failure commercially, from what I've researched. Inspite of massive fan push to get a new one made, myself included on wanting one.
@@shcdemolisher I'm sure they'll release another, but i would imagine it'll be a lot different than what we know Sly to be, and definitely will happen when we least expect it.
*points to **48:35* THAT'S ME WHAAAT. My friend messaged me to tell me I was mentioned in this and I'm SHOOK. I'm glad you thought my goofy lil fanfic was neat! It was a pretty fun passion project!
Good job :)
What do you mean the gambling scene was cut?! It's a game that revolves around stealing, and they draw the line at GAMBLING?!
Rating boards have weird standards
Then why did they allow Mesa City as a level in Sly 1? Their standards make no sense sometimes.
@@acgearsandarms1343 Said ESRB standards change mate on a constant basis based on whatever "controversy" or "hot topic" is going on at the time
Remember mate the ESRB is fully owned / sponsored by the gaming mafia a.k.a Entertainment Software Association made up entirely of all the ceos / presidents of the multi billion publishers hence anything shady is downplayed or diverted away from them
Dead Or Alive thousands in monetization ESRB it's optional, legal gambling to minors ESRB in game purchases label, so on and so on
@@acgearsandarms1343lol RIGHT AN ENTIRE CASINO !?
I'm assuming it was cut because laws concerning gambling stuff changed between the OG release and HD release. Mesa City is probably allowed, because you never see any actual gambling being done.
While it's kind of a bummer a lot of interesting entries don't have footage, it surprised me that something was actually new to me.
I'm a long time fan of the Cooper Gang, and I seriously thought I knew almost everything about it!
Great iceberg!
Ah yeah, I grew up with this game. I remember my two brothers and I got the 2nd one a year or so after it came out and played it religiously. And then we rented 3 and played it like 2 days straight. These days i like playing through the trilogy every few years but I'm not too big into the 4th game.
Anybody wanna hear a sneaky little theory-that's-most-likely-a-fact? I have a very strong suspicion that the reason Carmelita's belly dance sequence exists is because the writer(s) most likely stumbled upon Sly 4: Cane of Destiny -- a fanfic outline written way back in 2009 in gamefaq. The fan fic in question covered what a Sly 4 might look like, and was EXTREMELY DETAILED, down to dialogue, job descriptions, and heist sequences. It was damn near like reading a novelization of a Sly game. The first level had a previously unknown Cooper Ancestor who was a magician, and could turn invisible using his cloak. It also introduced a gunslinging motorcycle-riding wolf character that acted as Carmelita's partner / superior, and had a resurrected Neyla (who used ice powers), Panda King and Jing King join the gang. Where the fanfic ended was in the second chapter, in the middle of the Arabian episode, where the VERY LAST THING written was about how in order to infiltrate a palace, Carmelita, Jing, and Neyla had to don belly dancer outfits (described almost exactly as shown during the slideshow prior to the heist in Thieves in Time). I am convinced that someone in Sanzaru stumbled upon that forum and took that scene and added it into Thieves in Time.
The forum thread is still up as of me writing. Google "Sly 4 Cane of Destiny" and it'll be among the top 3
Ohhhh wow. I had ZERO idea that happened.
This is currently my favorite video. As a fan of the franchise since 2005 (when I got the first game for Christmas as a 4 year old and became OBSESSED; don't even get me started on how I reacted when I finally learned how to read and found that little thevius raccoonus game manual with hints at the 2nd game), I genuinely thought I knew most all there was to know. And yet now as I watch this, I'm not only surprised but absolutely ECSTATIC to find that there's even more to know about the franchise I grew up with. This video freaking rocks. It's so rare to find any iceberg videos with as much obscure information as this one, this is seriously awesome work
Totally agree buddy
ALMOST 2 HOURS OF NEESTERHERE!?!? 😍
He sounds so professional 😭 if i had a biography this man needs to be the narrator.
Great video, love sly cooper and love iceberg videos, very well produced, I just wish there was video footage of all of the entries. Keep up the great work!
Honestly your best video to date
Its interesting, well edited, everything a good video needs
Here are some things you didn’t talk about that could be worth mentioning in an iceberg video:
- The Cooper ancestors are named after Sucker Punch employees
- The password is: Chetkido
- Sly 3 advertisement on Xmas bus
- The Diamond of Tuxmal
- Sly Cooper: To Catch a Thief
- Sly Cooper manga
- Sly 4 has no Japanese release
- Moo Goo
Can you explain on these
So, here I am at 3:10 AM, just watched an hour and a half Iceberg video of my favorite video game franchise in the world, and I don't regret one second of it.
Sly Cooper is one of the most important video game franchises of all time for me, and even if I don't own all the games or merch (or anything like what slycooperrocks101 had 😅), I still loved this Iceberg and am so happy to see that Sly got justice with a Iceberg video of his own. Thank you so much for making this, you definitely earned a sub!
BTW, I discovered this shark at 1:38:52 in around 2017 and was absolutely amazed and surprised that no one had posted about it on UA-cam but one guy.
I hoped to make a video of my own someday and show this shark and get lots of attention, but I'm happier that it got mentioned on this Iceberg.
15:31 actually the objective isn't to last as long as you can, the hacking game actually has a boss fight in the end
Edit: I also wanna share that in the Finnish dub of Sly 3 Tsao says "she's a woman, she doesn't get to have opinions" as his sexist line💀
Holy shit that lines even worse!! XD
i love iceberg videos totally happy you did one! thank you for asking me to do some art for you >:3
Nilla wafers?????

Very well made video and really good iceberg. Awesome stuff 🔥🔥
Can't believe the amount of work and research that went into making this video! The result is absolutely amazing!
This is probly one of the longest Neester Videos i watched, worth every fucking second. This man has been a legend ever since i watched His First Video and im very glad i Stuck around ❤
I'm so glad you added the fruitcake thing omg. I remember pointing that out to my dad just to confirm that was messed up (he agreed) and I was waiting for you to mention it the whole time
1:34:18 I got curious and did some digging, and I'm fairly sure I found the video in question. It's uploaded on my channel.
Thank you for your service!!
A movie length of neesterhere😩👌
*Horseshoe subject*
"Kinda like a totem in Minecraft!"
*Eye twitches from everyone who ever played Crash Bandicoot...*
What about the floating heart thingies in Rayman Legends? They also act as a single-use shield for otherwise a character that dies in a single hit
41:46 "Bentley, you've created a time paradox.... Fantastic work, the wheelchair hasn't slowed ya down one bit!"
I’m shocked you didn’t talk about the arduous racing level from Sly 1, literally made me nearly give up the whole series. Awesome video nonetheless
Bro your so fucking quick with this shit man great work also i would love to see more iceberg videos
This is by far one of the best Iceberg videos ever made
neester:THIS IS THE SICKEST SHIT EVER
serious neester:welcome to my iceberg
As a kid born in 2002 and grew up with games, Sly being my fave franchise. Im more surprised at how much I already knew about this stuff due to me constantly playing the series over and over. Like how I would use the bouncy cheese as Carmalita in the Mugshot bossfight because it made the fight tediously easy too discover that little cutscene glitch. To remembering the old youtube videos of the guy doing edits for their own Sly 4 thieves in time. I could never forget that and if I recall correctly it included Bently jumping constantly to "If you wanna be my lover"? No clue but thanks for this retour down memory lane. I enjoyed the re-ride.
I also found out that in the second part of the general tsao fight, I accidentally knocked him up instantly killed him, like the attack that kills the guards from behind (using triangle then square). Idk if this was pointed out yet or not, but very interesting! And i might’ve recorded it when I was playing the trilogy version of 3.
EDIT:
I killed him at half of his hp with the knockup attack, i can provide footage for you if this is intersting enough.
@@otdreamer193I uploaded it you can check it out.
Idk if my comments were getting deleted for having a link or not so sorry if I am spamming you
was gonna comment this but you did you can use a couple moves to make tsao vunrable to the sneek attack i use the knockout dive i think
this is a known glitch, i remember seeing it on youtube 10 years ago
I think the Transylvania level with the bat (whose name was Dr. Mortimor, by the way) is actually from a scrapped game called Network of Thieves originally in development in 2008. I’ve been told it got shelved when Sanzaru started working on what eventually became Sly 4, and it never got recalled.
40:30 Because even in 2005 a VILLAIN saying a sexist line was controversial...
6:08 I have never seen Clockwork in episode 3, I always thought they didn't put an Easter egg there because he just didn't exist yet
15:06 I remember pressing random buttons and finding this as a kid, i was so excited to show my brother and that is how we found the series. It's a bit sad that newer generations likely won't experience finding something few people know about, considering the all info is on the internet. The plus side now obviously is you're less likley to miss out on something these days.
1:32:00 - It's not just the Loud House. One of the episodes of the first season of Jeff Goldblum's Disney+ show has two tracks from Thieves in Time: the aforementioned rooftop theme and the main theme. Looking further into it, it seemed these respective tracks were, intentionally or otherwise, bundled into what appears to be a royalty-free music pack that sound engineers and music mixers use for tv. I have yet to find the actual music pack but this is no coincidence.
I miss my boy sly cooper bro where'd he go 😭
(Murray is the best character)
3:09 uhhh hearing this theme made my heart jump!
there’s a lot to unpack with that PSP Carmelita concept art… what are those sound effects for her spinning her gun?
Respect to Neester for making this, I ain’t watching alla dat but I’m proud he made
Yessss sly content. This game franchise was my childhood.
My nephew found the "Murray picking up the dynamite" thing out of nowhere, I been playing Sly Cooper for YEARS and never ever knew you could do that! Dude's a guru😄😄
This is an amazing video, thank you. I miss Sly Cooper it’s my childhood
Bentley without the com voice makes it sound like he is right in the same room as you when you are near that specific vault
Btw the reason Sly's hat is misplaced during some of the binocucom cutscenes is because he has an idle animation where he leans on his cane and pushes his hat up.
my favorite episode has to be the Canada stage, not only Jean has such a charisma that hits the spot just right, the music settings when outside hits the spot considering the area, and it's in my country 😻😻😻
I applaud you for this iceberg dude😭❤️❤️❤️
More entries I'd like to add: In Sly 3 you can glitch into most werehouses using Bently's remote camera bomb and spamming the graple. This can sometimes pass some narrow gaps, even the treasure room in the skull fort in episode 5. In the same episode while sailing and fighting other captains, it is possible to one-shot a captain with the triangle triangle X or 3triple triangle X with sly. this happened to me only once. something that maybe belong to the upper layers but Murry's triangle square move is almost an insta kill to anything, a stun and a kick. Panda King has only two playable missions, he too got a binocucom. Bently's sucking vortex bomb can be detonated mid air. this will cause the target to tuble as it shrink. (had lots of fun doing this on the plane's ramp in episode 3). In the presentation of bently for operation Moonfall, one slide will show Bently from Sly 2 using the mojo collector. Sly cant hit a flashligh guard with a triangle X move that has more than one triangle (guess they are too heavy.) and lastly a well known theory is circulating that the Clockwerck is a time guardian trying to destroy the Sly paradox which came to be since Sly ends in Egypt and become the first ancestor. (there is a video showing that the egyptian Sly in Sly 3 And in sly 1 are two different racoons as one is the 1st and the other is 3rd or 2nd or something like that) the Clockwerk got corrupted since each ancestor dies solves nothing because the only family memeber that should have died is Sly himself. one last thing that I cannot prove since my PS3 and PS2 arent working as intended- while playing as Dimitri and going to the surface if possible (like in episode 5) his bionocucum/ scuba diving goggles change a bit.
Great video, only disappointed with how many of these were glitches. It felt like filler, if you ever do another game iceberg I'd definitely love to see more facts, lore, theories, easter eggs, and cut content.
Dope iceberg vid 🤙
Sly Cooper iceberg is such an original concept. It's so strange that nobody made one before this video
Incredible video!
I may have somewhat of a theory regarding Dimitri's special intro mentioned at 47:20
So, I once played this demo of Sly 2 (possibly coupled with one of the Ratched & Clank games) and I remember it including the beginning heist from the game as well as this particular trailing mission, nothing else. After the beginning heist the game simply throws you straight into the trailing mission and all the context the demo provides is what Bentley says at the beginning of the mission. We don't get to see the chapter intro introducing Dimitri, so the first time he is shown is when he comes out of the boat.
I think there are two (potentially overlapping) possibilities why Dimitri in particular has a special intro:
1) It was merely made with this demo in mind. Given how the player is just dropped into the mission without any other context, this was a way to showcase one of the game's villains for a demo player. And given how the main trio were introduced in a similar manner, it doesn't really look out of place since he _is_ pretty much as important character as them.
2) At the time of making the demo, the devs did intend to have a special intro for each of the bosses as well and they structured the trailing mission's cutscenes with that idea in mind. But for whatever reason, the idea was scrapped for the rest of them. Yet since the special intro was already made for Dimitri _and_ showcased in the demo, they decided to just keep it.
Ever since I played the game and the demo, I had theorized 1) to be the reason for this oddly singular villain intro. But this video made me realize that this demo is probably not that well-known _or_ played for most other people to reach the same conclusion. I hope this gave some additional perspective for this.
Helo. I love that you make the content you like :D
i uhhhm, have to watch this at .75 speed sometimes rn. i might be too tired, you're speaking so fast aaaaaaah !!
Ive never heard of this game and now im interesed im going to go try it all out. Wish me like
Oh my gosh! Did you play them? I'd love to hear the experience of someone new to the series!!
One thing I never noticed anybody bring up is why in Sly 2, the Clockwerk parts just keep changing size throughout the game. In the animated cutscenes, the tail feathers, which in game were pretty massive next to Sly, were so tiny that Sly was able to hold them in his hand. Same with the eyes.
Clockwerk's fully built body also changed size a couple times throughout the last episode as well. His body became MUCH larger when you landed on Clock-La during the last mission.
OMG!! You mentioned slycooperrocks101!! I used to watch them all the time! I thought they were so cool. I dreamed of having their room 😂 Their videos forever live in my memories 🖤
1:34:00 i remember that slycooperrocks101 video. i used to watch her videos when i was younger. also being a mega sly fan myself. and i remember recently remembering she existed and all the videos are gone. didn't think anybody else would care so i found it as a lost cause. but i remember her having a tutorial video of "how to be a thief" where she parodied sly cooper with her friend. and both of her room tour videos, and her piano videos playing sly ost. i wonder where she is now? i remember she made a video that she wouldn't be uploading as much because of college, now its just all gone.
The canonically calling a guard a bitch section had me laughing so hard lol
The Neyla mission (Midnight Rendezvous) didn’t outright *replace* Ride the Chopper; it still existed in the demos, but it had a different purpose, so it was altered to have the same function as the chopper mission.
34:09 it’s cut content from the E3 demo (I believe, the one with the keycards) that would’ve contained a treasure within the actual mission to bring back to the safe house
In regards to Bentley (Matt Olsen) saying ‘That’s a nice one.’ It was an older line but was overlooked when they were replacing with new audio. Matt wasn’t available to to record a new line due to attending a family members funeral which was in a different country. They were going to mix something out of what they already had but Matt wouldn’t sign to say he would allow them to do so (it wasn’t part of his original contract for them to remix his personal dialogue) Matt insisted he wasn’t trying to be difficult but wasn’t in the right mind frame to be signing anything that would allow them to use his voice recordings not as originally intended in the future.
This getting uploaded while I’m replaying them through PS Plus is an insane coincidence… maybe I should buy lotto tickets more often
Good video but the take about "how can a video game run out of budget" is such an L take that I seriously rolled my eyes 💀
Whenever working on a large-scale production, not just video games, running out of budget is extremely common.
Almost every video game has stuff cut out due to budget.
its amazing to finally get confirmation that the fanmade sly 4 video was actually real and not something i imagined 😂
I always thought those weird black shadows on Murray’s mask were oil stains.
Solid proof that views number and quality are not necessarily correlated because this is one of the best icebergs and only got 10k views which is a shame
It deserves 100k+ like a lot of other
Lots of good info here, I do however have one correction.
1:38:50 We do have something of an idea. Because her look for the TV series got leaked, and since they were following a more simplified movie design, we can guess just how much more detailed it would've been.
Where was this leak at?
@@winnerdinger589The Artist was J. Splaz. He'd been posting online randomly after the official cancellation. I caught some of it back when he had a Twitter; both official and rejected arts. Of course since the project failed, I guess that means they're ALL rejected concept arts.
I played sly coopter 2 a lot, Sadly i lost my game thingy, Pretty neat actually hearing someone talk about this tho
what about the soundeffect that plays when doing a master thief sprint in sly 1 , it always reminded me of the mk toastie soundeffect ...
You should do a Ratchet & Clank and Jak and Daxter Iceberg
34:00 actually, the loot you see in the overworlds were originally supposed to be in interiors and this was one of the locations for them
1:31:09
Oh my god FINALLY someone mentions this!!! It has always bothered me since the second game that Sly NEVER mentions his mom!! Its always his dad which makes sense and he even mentions BOTH his parents died that night
But WHY does he never bring her up otherwise?
They likely didn't consider her role in the story and said "let's pretend she's not important at all"
I played the Sly games for the first time recently and I noticed too how a couple of Bentley’s plans involve outright murder in the 3rd game. 😆
i miss this game so much but all my old console are broken, im left the emulatores i wish i could play the original one last time and a new sly cooper game
-i dont know who the hell sly cooper is- but OVER ONE AND A HALF HOURS OF NEESTER
GAWD DAYUM
and it appears the reason why i didnt know who sly cooper was is stated in the video. neat.
6:40 are you kidding me?! his explains so much. I hated the Ruby boss fight so much, now i know why it was so hard
Found the slycooperrocks101 person on deviant art btw last post was from 2015 tho
27:51 I always thought of it as a evolution of his character
In terms of glitches, I can never really think of anything that could ever top what happened in SGB's playthrough of Sly 2 where his hat kept disappearing in the final act until Sly literally lost his head and was running around like a decapitated chicken until the game crashed.
My theory--those damn propeller blades, man. Bad ending.
OH MY GOD! I remember seeing Sungam3210’s videos!! Though… were they commentated? I don’t think they were.
Actually….i think it was someone else that I watched back in the day. My bad.
43:28 Knowing its actually canon that Murray was drugged by the Contessa with hallucinogenic "spices" makes this even funnier. Murray has been chasing that purple dragon ever since. Yet another child actor ruined by drugs and alcohol.
I hear Bentley staged an intervention 😔😔😔💔💔
Back in the day in ps2 in sly 2 in the dimitri level where you take pics of the place, I glitched out of the pic place and got caught by dimitri, that was weird one time glitch😂
1:17:53 bro
Are ya trying to expose me bro, like I know who the artist is 😵
I still play the trilogy on PS2 after 2 decades as Sly Cooper is my favorite video game franchise aside from Grand Theft Auto.
1:32:00 The Grand Tour also used Sly music in Season 4 Episode 3.
Imagine a heist movie with Sly Cooper, Bentley, Murray, and probably Dimitri among others. He's the most stand out and you would probably want at least 5 characters. Carmelita would definitely show up but wouldn't be a part of the heist. The question becomes would the movie be about something that has happened in the games or something original.
"You have a farm?" I'm dead 😂
Worth mentioning for the Sly 1 anime part it was ACTUALLY the Japanese version’s intro & ending cutscenes that use that artstyle. The other cutscenes are the same
The mega jump is in Slay3 if you play cops and robbers in the multiplayer.
I believe that if they picked the movie up again, they NEED to do a spider-verse esqe style. It would be perfect.
Another thing about Panda King being first: Sly was originally going to learn the “climb” move from Panda King’s vault, but Sucker Punch made it to where he could climb things from the start and changed Panda King’s Thievius Raccoonus pages to contain a turret and a battering ram added to the Cooper Van.
He also heavily foreshadows what move he's about to do next during his boss fight, which is odd considering Sir Raleigh, Muggshot and Mz. Ruby don't do that; reinforcing that the Panda King was meant to be the first boss.
With all the bits added into other games and various other Easter eggs, i gotta wonder how many other publishers may want to see a new Sly game.
Why would other publishers even care for Sly Cooper since it's not their franchise
@@bamban_garcia5562 it's just a thought.
Sly’s opp being Nathan Drake is what rly got me tbh 😂
THIS SERIES WILL FOREVER BE IN MY HEART!!!!
THIEF NET WAS A MISSED OPPORTUNITY
I think Simon Ataturk got split into Toothpick and Penelope, kind of like Mr. Decibel merging with the monitor lizard into Miss Decibel.
Sly Cooper legit gets me so emotional hearing others talk about it.
I cant believe they just dropped everything
It deserves a reboot!
imo the reason sly didnt save his parents is due to the fact that he knows about the causation paradox (going back in time to fix a thing and then not needing to fix it so it doesnt get fixed then it loops) and that if he did save his parents the cooper gang wouldnt of been founded
Tennessee dying from hanging is only in that alternate time. In the original timeline he dies from clockwork.
Personally, I'm of the opinion that Penelope in Sly 3 and Penelope in Sly 4 are actually twins - with the one in Sly 3 being the *mostly* good twin (she was engaged in certain criminal activities, as it were), and the one in Sly 4 is the more evil one. My idea is that the Evil twin found out about the Good one's success, got jealous, encountered La Paradox, and they abducted the Good one, and made her make the various gadgets and such, with the Good one being stuck back in the Medieval days.
