- This is a breakdown of the ship and her basic capabilities. The most powerful ship left in the known worlds after the fall of the Systems Commonwealth and the Long Night that Followed.

The Andromeda also features two large, massively armed, ground assault mecha named Tweedledum and Tweedledee. In an emergency they can be deployed in open areas inside the ship to repel boarders.
Yup. Romi cleverly deployed them onto the surface of the ship when the Magog attacked the Andromeda.
Ok, I'm only 14 episodes into season 1, do they ever use them? I saw them in the first episode and wondered why they haven't used them.
@@ltdoc they will.
1:35 The NOVA bomb is for destroying STARS, not planets. It's a quick way to pacify any planetary system.
Destroy the central star, and well - that's the end of the story. "A Nova Bomb is a very powerful weapon capable of making a sun go supernova, destroying nearly all the matter of a solar system."
The last sentence is hilariously wrong. A super nova deposits msss into rhe solar system thats gonna form around the remnnant star
@@trazyntheinfinite9895 Perhaps ruining all matter is a better term. The matter of the solar system is still there after a supernova, but superheated and blown away. Certainly no one left alive.
😲 😲 😲 this was an AWESOME ship and i didn't know it had ALL this powerful stuff on her!!!!!!!!! I sure miss it!!!!!!!!
While the fighters can be piloted, they can also be remote-controlled from people inside the Andromeda. Remote pilots can even pilot several fighters at once to fly in formation!
Just wanted to point out that the ship has nova bombs and some thing called the negative energy bomb. Also, nova bombs don’t destroy planets. They destroy stars
Thanks for reminding him - he must have skipped the wiki and also missed the show's episodes that explained the Star destroying power.
The name of the ordinance tells it all : NOVA ! The biggest kaboom in C Space, short of a couple black holes bumping into one another.
1:40 point of contention, "capable of destroying a star" should be inserted.
They never explained the battle blades on the show. Also I don't think they ever mentioned anti-matter. They called it an exotic matter drive.
i took the battle blades as extra shielding....
@@The_Zilli Maybe some sort of antenna array that jambs targeting systems on incoming missiles. Someday I hope to find time to read the six books they wrote after the show ended (I think it was after).
@@scottys1423 oh didnt know about it but you did remind me of something - there is a general outline from the creator of andromeda as to what the endgame was going to be. You should look it up, it's pretty wild. Def not what we saw in their final season (which was only released as the production company had gone bankrupt and the 5th season ensured reruns for extra revenue for the creditors).
@@The_Zilli I've seen what call the Coda or something like that. It's written as a conversation between Trance and Harper when she explains the big picture and how he/this was just one of the millions of possible scenarios she has gone through looking for one if her perfect possible outcomes. It's a pretty good read.
@@scottys1423 The one Im referring talks bout how Harper ends up leading the robots that they encounter in the series, Tyr with his people, Dylan rebuilds the commonwealth, Trance is like the Devil so to speak, and the separate factions that you encountered through the show in the end would be led by the various crew members - i think Becca was going to lead the guilds and they would have come together at the end to fight off the threat. Was pretty ambitious and very different than what ended up to be.
gene roddenberry really wanted to play with warships in this one.
Totally get it. Nova bombs are evil tho.
I wonder what the crew of the Enterprise D would think if they encountered this ship? 🤔
Is it really a battleship or heavy cruiser.. Hunt stated a few times its a Heavy Cruiser on the show. And they were afraid of the crazy ai controlled commonwealth destroyer they encountered. So i think its just a cruiser. Not a battleship
Capable of destroying a planet? They're called nova bombs because they can make any star go nova....
You know it’s twice I’ve goofed that think I’m gonna do a full breakdown of the Nova bomb 💣
Heavy cruiser, battlecruiser, battleship... pick one!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :)
Dreadnought :)
@@NerdWorldEmpire Technically wouldn't the Wrath of Achilles or Fist of Righteous Heaven-classes be the dreadnoughts since they're designed as pure shipkillers? :D
Space RV for the Ultimate Prepper.
I love this show but it should have lasted longer than 5 seasons!
👍😎🤠🍷🌹🥰😍
You know I like this show over star trek discovery and orvel there both shit but not the rest of Star trek just discovery
star trek discovery is sh*t, Andromeda was a fun show that had so much potential but even if it didnt live up to it, it had a great concept with memorable characters.
speak up
