Promoting a healthy, "detox" lifestyle and having a glass of wine regularly, considering alcohol is neurotoxic, even if it is such a small amount, seems to be a little ridiculous. If your body is strong enough to cope with a glass of wine, it is strong enough to handle a cookie, I think. And to leave away the celery juice.
I always pick this bone with people. It’s so comical to watch them struggle with the logic of alcohol - neurotoxic and generally a poison in the most literal sense (acute overconsumption will kill you) vs gluten / sugar etc. I love forcing people to explain why they choose alcohol when they’re so self righteous about “health”.
It sounded like she wasn’t in control of her food intake at all. Is she being held hostage or did someone add in a diet clause into a contract? So so bizarre.
@@theywalkinguptoyouand4060 I mean she’s also heavily misinformed. If anyone’s to blame it’s the obsessive culture around celebrity’s diets. No one would be listening to this or any influencer for diet advice if not for that.
That dishwasher lemon water edit has me ON THE FLOOR. Too funny. Thank you for always adding a little light into these wellness culture vids. I look forward to them all the time!
Gosh videos like these (if I had seen them a few years ago when my disordered eating was at its worst) would have been so harmful. Thank you for making educational videos like these that remind people ITS OKAY TO EAT and it doesn’t have to be low sugar, gluten free, etc. Your channel has been huge in helping my relationship with food!
As someone who has celiac disease, thank you for the gluten free comment! I’d never recommend it to anyone if they don’t struggle with an allergy or intolerance. It can make you intolerant over time if you eat that lifestyle long enough!!! I know someone who did this to herself 🤦🏻♀️
@@maryssa8593 That's not true. I (who also have celiac) don't know why your particular friend developed the disease, many of us develop it randomly as adults, but studies show that actually the more gluten you eat the more likely you are to develop it. They think this is why the prevalence is higher in some countries even when you control for genetics. That said, I'd also recommend that people who don't need things like gluten free baked goods avoid them, because they're more expensive, often don't taste as good, and often have more calories than the original wheat version.
For sure! Not only does she habitually smoke weed and drink alcohol; she uses botox/xeomin (toxins!) and fillers on her face! I met her 7 years ago and her face has been "filled".
I know right? So many people eat food for pleasure or as a coping mechanism or out of boredom or money(mukbangs) or because it is part of the ritual of the Thanksgiving holiday, or just becausethey can. The obesity epidemic is real.
She's...she's eating curry without rice?? Like to each their own but lentil curry is just begging for rice to go with it!! Not to mention the large quantity of fantastic gluten free Indian flatbreads you can make instead of plain old crackers?? I'm allergic to dairy, soy, and gluten and my stomach lately gets very angry about red meat. But I still eat all kinds of foods that aren't just vegetables. Like fruits. Grains. Bread. Pasta. Etc. It's not like she's literally allergic to everything but vegetables??
And dal with rice is a complete protein. We've been eating this for thousand years in india! Dal Chawal is considered a comfy, healthy light meal especially with a ghee tempering
This one was hilarious. She rly piled on all the clichés and delivered them with a straight face - but... wait... Like you said, she probably managed to convince herself all of this is true and scientific. Oh well... At least it is entertaining...
OMG! I met Julianne Hough at a CVS on La Brea (West Hollywood), in July 2014. It was close to midnight, and I was there with 3 friends purchasing snack food and drinks after dining down the road at Nobu (we had spent $60 each and were still hungry!). She was there with her assistant getting Cheetos/chips/cookies/sugary stuff as they OBVIOUSLY had the munchies... How do I know? They were giggling uncontrollably and about to get to the register when this big guy basically shoved them out of his way and took their place with the cashier... my friends and I started joking around with them as we had witnessed this rude guy and we continued chatting for quite a while. They were obviously red-eyed stoned but really lovely and chatty. Why am I bothering to type this? Because this "wellness" bs is a far cry from the Julianne I met that day and I don't buy her wellness shtick for a second! The girl was truthful when she said she loves flour, sugar, etc... she opened a package of chips ahoy and stuffed her face before she even reached her SUV in the parking lot!!! PS: Back then, I was the ONLY one who recognized her (Footloose).
She was raised Mormon and they aren't big coffee drinkers as it was once banned in the church. She also suffers from endometriosis and may steer clear of it for that reason.
Yeah... but she also smokes weed and drinks alcohol... those are definitely no-no's in her church as well. I met her in her mid 20's and she ate a ton of junk...
I think you reviewed her brother Derek’s. “what I eat in a day”. If I remember correctly his was loaded with pseudo-sciency trendiness too! I guess they are really related
For some reason, I find it funny that Nina Dobrev, who is Julianne's bff, Ian Somerhalder's ex and possibly Derek's ex too, actually has a pretty balanced diet all things considered.
@@_NavNav_ yes the way Derrick did the steamed chicken didn’t look really appetizing. But I have to say Chinese cuisine often steam chicken for dishes that are so yummy. Makes makes the meat so tender. But of course they’re using garlic and sauces. Here is a recipe ua-cam.com/video/n5x_GqeX7Yw/v-deo.html
Ppl in LA seem to have a drastically different relationship with food. A normal person wouldn’t spend this much time and energy nitpicking what to put into their bodies.
I mean, these influencers usually don’t have a normal working hours environment so I guess they nit pick every single thing they have to do out of boredom as well.
That Bingo card made my day! 🤣🤣🤣 Orthorexia has become such a destructive status symbol in the entertainment industry and toxic wellness culture. It's upsetting to see "role models" promoting this kind of deprivation under the guise of health. Thank you for always interjecting some realness, Abbey! 💜
You went so hard on this video and I am here for it. Thank you for always calling out unhealthy BS. You are really helping me sift through the diet culture ads from the actual healthy advice videos. Thank you Thank you!!
To be fair, Julianne has spoken about her endometriosis diagnosis which probably affects what she eats daily and why she said coffee is a treat for her.
I have endometriosis. You need a balanced diet and to be careful with overall glycemic load of food - which makes that butternut squash soup without protein a no no. Endometriosis has little to do with specific foods and more the overall balance of each meal. Alcohol without some protein or carb for absorption is a recipe for cramps.
As someone else who has endometriosis, it is advised that we stay away from coffee and problematic, triggering foods. Because of this, for me, coffee is a treat too. I am with Julianne, that having a cookie might actually cause a flare that inhibits her functioning that day. Clearly Abby was way uninformed about all of these things and chose a hyper-judge mental route. This is a topic she knows nothing about and it shows.
@@JustBeingAwesome not trying to be combative, but other than the documented benefits of a gluten-free diet and increasing Omega 3 fatty acid consumption, overall body fat is what can make endo symptoms more severe, as fat cells produce estrogen, so the more fat cells you have, the more estrogen is released into your body and this makes the pain worse. Excess estrogen is also the reason for the early onset of menstruation in pre-pubescent girls, increased menstrual flow/cramps/pain/headaches, infertility, and higher incidence of endo and pcos.
Abbey sharp, you probably read this everyday in your comments but I'd still like to let you know that you've helped me so much to overcome my bulimia and taught me a lot about nutrition and respecting our bodies. Here in the UK, during covid lockdown, it's incredibly hard to book an appointment regarding an eating disorder and I felt as if I wasn't important enough because other people were going through greater struggles with covid19. I thought I was going to suffer all alone and be stuck but when I found your channel, it was like hope. I'm not even over exaggerating, you've done so much for me! Seriously thank you so ooooo much for the information you put out there.
Abbey, you've seriously helped me improve my relationship with food. I was destroyed by UA-cam "influencers" who preached diets and foods that they were not qualified to really speak on in the manner that they did. I find you to be a breath of fresh air!
As a coffee drinker, I didn't get triggered by what she said about coffee (I respect anyone who doesn't need coffee, because I wish I had that relationship with it). I just assumed that Julianne might struggle with some form of generalized anxiety or depression, that is triggered and worsened by the sudden high caffeine content in coffee. Which is the case for two of my friends, one to this day does not drink coffee because it unhealthy ramps up her anxiety and the other one only drinks in moderation. I dont know but in this video you kinda came across as a bit of a bully towards Julianne, and as someone who follows a whole food diet because of IBS (I'm allergic to Fructans like onions/garlic so that gets rid of the majority of processed foods). I kinda felt a bit of judgement from you. My relationship with food is great, regardless of if I follow a few "diet culture" regimes because I have to.
Damn i didn t think about that even tho literally the first thing my therapist told me after like idk 5seconds was to not drink coffee since i probqbly have a nice little boquet of ptsd anxiety adhs and seasonal depression I still drink it maby that s why i didn t think of it..
@@bell58137 Shoot I'm sorry that you are dealing with all of that :( I also have PTSD, depression ("regular", and seasonal), and have bouts of anxiety. So I can kinda relate. Yeah I still drink coffee too, because I just really enjoy it. But yeah, even me, if I have too much (over 3-4 cups, depends on my mental health at that point. It could be a higher or lower point) my anxiety/ptsd kicks into high gear and it really isn't a fun time. Yeah I think everyone just has a different tolerance and level they can handle.
@@TheWhiskeyBlue i mean.. it is shitty but at this point i do like my personality (and humor) a lot- they would've turned out differently without my less pleasant life experiences. I'm sorry for your struggles too! For me it's really depending on the day- sometimes more then a 100ml aren't tolerable and sometimes it's worse if I stay in a halfasleep autopilot for my anxiety but I know what u mean- if I don t listen to my guts and drink more coffee than I should I am hyperalert of every little noice and not coping very well with that
Julianne: I Celery Juice before my workout and have a coffee even though I don’t need it Me: 5 protein pancakes in, topped off with plain greeek yogurt and honey and two cups of coffee AFTER a hellish Leg Day… 😩😩😩😩😩
I'm a Julianne Hough fan (Safe Haven!) and I have heard her share over the years she has pretty severe endometriosis so to avoid severe pain/cramping/bloating she eats gluten free and vegan. No clue if that is medically recommended though and love hearing Abbey's input.
Different people get different recs, my doc said no sugar or red meat, since those can help inflammation get worse. If that works for her it is recommended
I just wanted to say I am SO here for your content. The perfect meme inserts and thoughtful commentary on diet and wellness culture are *chefs kiss* perfect. You’re doing us all a favor by being here in this space.
Hi Abbey, I follow your content and think it’s truly educational. I do feel however that this video was more mean spirited than others...it’s the reason why I watch less and less reaction videos on UA-cam since they poke fun at people and are sometimes straight up mean. Her diet is definitely restrictive and makes no sense, but I’m sure she actually believes she’s doing good... it’s perfectly fine to say that she is not correct, like in other videos you made, but this one felt particularly...mean. I felt the need to say this, hope it’s not upsetting, but it just didn’t sit right with me.
I think Abbey, like anyone else in her position, has the right to sometimes pick at people who are supposed to be authorities on diet and excercise that are spreading harmful misinformation. Whether or not Julianne believes these claims, she is responsible for the misinformation that people recieve from her, and should be called out imo. Aside from that, Abbey is a human and sometimes people have sassy moods so it could just be that lol
Oh my gosh, yes. I’m glad you said it I was totally thinking the same. Abbey couldn’t have been more of a b in this video. Sounds like a bit of jealousy going on here. She was so incredibly mean and condescending. I haven’t been watching her too long but I see the same vibe in a lot of her vids, this one takes the cake though. Completely mean spirited and harsh, wow. Time to unsubscribe from these negative self righteous scoldings.
We're all sick of this gross diet culture bs at this point, and I think that frustration is coming across more in this video. Abbey is anything but "mean spirited." The fact that harpers bazaar is still posting these is enough reason to be angry.
Watching this while eating oreo ice cream and drinking ny iced coffee. This really reminds me of how grateful I am to be in recovery (almost entirely recovered) from an eating disorder. Enjoying food, enjoying movement, trying new foods, and eating out without fear.
I totally agree with your comments about gluten free eating!!! I have Celiac Disease, so yes, I must avoid gluten but the very first things I figured out how to make gluten free were chocolate chip cookies and brownies. It's fine to avoid what we must, but have a cookie and enjoy life!
Not judging people who love their alcohol, but Julianne talks on and on about health and then drinks a substance that just poisons your body is just lol
@@micahsmith2484 All alcohol is a neurotoxin, and directly affects nerve cells. It is up to the individual to determine whether the health benefits it (reportedly) confers, is outweighed by its downsides. In Julianne's case, it's misguided to tout the "cleansing effect" of lemon water, then turn around and ingest a known neurotoxin.
I was teasing her implication of leaving cut up fruit in room temperature water overnight. There is a risk of getting food poisoning because the cut up lemons could start to form bacteria as it sits out. I was teasing Julianne’s logic of treating her metabolism well, yet potentially getting quite sick from her own methods.
Yeah it’s because Abbey is a judgmental snob who clearly knows nothing about Julianne’s health condition and dietary restrictions. I’m disgusted by the way she tears people down. Nothing about this video was amusing.
She’s not supposed to have coffee because she has endometriosis I do as well and they recommend to stay away from coffee as well as other certain foods like refined sugar, gluten, alcohol and a fair amount of other foods! If you could do a video on Endometriosis and best foods to focus on I’m sure others would appreciate it as I found nutrition to be key in helping aid in my healing process and daily fight against endometriosis!
You’re the only person that talks about food/reviews videos in a way that doesn’t trigger me. Thanks for being so aware of your language. Love your channel. 💕
I would always take the dessert over alcohol, wine just gives me a headache, chocolate gives me joy ❤ Love your channel Abbey, thanks for your great content. Greetings from Austria 🤗
So the one thing I want to flag when it comes to Ayervedic traditions for food is that you're right that we definitely don't have evidence to support the claims. But we also don't have evidence to refute them for the most part, because we don't put a ton of research money into eastern medicine traditions (largely due to the health/wellness industry being steeped in white supremacy). While I'm convinced Julianne is probably appropriating a bit of the culture and isn't trying to bring awareness to cultural significance, I don't think it's fair to discount the tradition and cultural way of eating for people who do practice Ayerveda. As a future RD, evidence-based practice is obviously super important to me. But simultaneously, we also need to be aware that many our research to get evidence is focused on what we assume to be "valid" based on western ideals. For example, we don't have evidence-based health benefits for Christians taking communion, or for Jews eating Challah. But in those religions and cultures it's considered important for spiritual health, which could help reduce stress that could affect physical health.
I wish I could give this more than 1 thumbs up. There is definitely a bias in what gets the money for research. Of course there isn't a lot of evidence on things that people don't feel is worth taking time to study
Hey Abbey, I absolutely love your videos and have learned so much about nutrition and a healthy relationship with food, thank you for that! What I would love to see in your videos where alcohol consumption is mentioned is maybe a disclaimer towards people who are currently struggling or have struggled with an alcohol addiction. I have some sober people in my life and hence want to raise awareness and do my best to help establish a sense of sensitivity for the struggle with alcoholism in society.
Julianne has endometriosis. Hence, all her dietary restrictions. I find this video a little too judgmental. I personally suffer from gastritis and I too have to avoid coffee due to the high acidity. Tea is less harsh on my gut, as well as matcha (not often). And I have many dietary restrictions due to my gut issues. Nothing to do with calories or carbs.
Same. And all abbeys videos are sponsored so I’m confused why she’s judging her for promoting her own brand? Would it be ok with her if she had eaten according to abbeys standards. I don’t like these negative videos it’s like she looks down on people that don’t eat like her
Most of abbeys videos are her judging how other people choose to eat and being snarky about it. I’m not saying all these celebs have perfect diets but it’s just weird how abbey says she feels “judged” because Julianne personally doesn’t drink coffee…like what? Abbey seems to be one of those people who takes “diet culture” and “body positivity” as a way to be mean to people who tend to eat more Whole Foods and less processed foods.
Yea I'm normally ok w her other vids, but this was super judgey and turned me off. I know quite a few ppl who "can't" have coffee (like you said, the acid or just bad response to it in general) and I'm not sure why she wasn't happy with that statement.
I get where she's coming from with health from the inside out. You never know what people are going through - - I used to laugh at people who were holding to "arbitrary" diet standards, and then my doctor suggested I try eliminating gluten, dairy, and sugar from my diet to aid with my severe Bipolar 1 disorder (in combination with medication and therapy of course). It's made a huge difference and while some days I do crave a cookie, I know that I will overall be best served by sticking to my boundaries, even though I'm not strictly intolerant or allergic and other people might roll their eyes. At the end of the day, what matters is that I'm happy and healthy, not what other people think, and I'll hold the same space for her. Except for the celery juice 🤣🤢
Yeah totally! But usually these “influencers” eat like that only to be/stay skinny. They don’t do it for mental health reasons. And most of people on these “What ___ Eats in a Day” videos, just don’t have enough food for a day...
My oldest has tourettes and she is low sugar.... all sugar even carbohydrate sugar. She had to wear a helmet to protect her from her tics. I have been accused of abusing her several times or someone will sneak something past mean ole mom. Its not wonderful and I don't like airing my daughters condition when its not on her terms if it isn't relevant so I take a lot of crap off well meaning, but ignorant people.
Eliminating added sugar is good in GENERAL for health. But gluten-free for bipolar disorder? No. No reliable research on that. I would fire that doctor.
@@theywalkinguptoyouand4060 she says it has made a significant difference. There is a ton of research about the impact of diet on both psychological and physiological diseases. A doctor who is exploring other causes and treatments than just pharmaceuticals is a good doctor. Not saying pharmaceuticals are bad, but diseases are treated and caused by lifestyle and diet habits all the time. Also, you are just plain incorrect about the diet thing. At the end of that article there are peer reviewed studies to support OPs doctors recommendations foodforthebrain.org/condition/bipolar-disorder/ Its a good thing her doctor stays up on current information.
Abbey can you react to The Biggest Loser when they talk about nutrition?? I just watched an episode where they took 3 (very healthy looking options) and told contestants to choose the lowest calorie option and also said mangoes were too sugary 🙄
Dear god Abbey detests Juluanne. From the unnecessary snarky access-to-money comments to questioning whether she enjoys her vegan diet, it was over the top hateful. Just tells us whats missing in the diet and what can make it more healthy. Check the nastiness at the door.
Thank you!!! Abbeys videos have gotten so much snarkier and mean, like just stick to giving your dietitian breakdown instead of being a bitch to these people jeez 🙄
So much judgment and projection onto other people in these videos without knowing anything about them. Imagine how it would feel to actually have disordered eating and hear the mean things she says about you in a video, all for “entertainment.” It’s very mean spirited.
Yes! I noticed this too. She is especially snarky in this one. Julianne's diet is obviously working for her and isn't that what it's all about? She also called her out for sounding judgmental about people who "need" coffee, meanwhile Abbey is judgemental this entire video 🙄
Yeah, the air quotes when saying some people "need" to be gluten free etc really rubbed me the wrong way. Julianne has endometriosis (I do as well) and skipping regular caffeine and making diet changes is a way lots of endo sufferers try to cope with debilitating symptoms. The snark was way heavier handed than necessary.
If had to pick ONE (Either wine or dessert) I would choose wine. I'm not too big on sweets as they tend to make me feel not so great, however, donuts from a local donut shop near me AND wine make for the perfect desert/snack for a girls/spa night. Life is way too short not to enjoy these pleasures in life.
I recently came across your videos and I literally am OBSSESED! I have learned so much, and I love your approach towards healthy eating. I recently recovered from anorexia, and your videos have helped me learn more about nutrition in a healthy and non-triggering way. Thank you!
I really don’t understand what this channel has become. According to the Ontario College of Dietitians (for those reading, it’s the professional organization, not a school), “A registered dietitian demonstrates [beneficence] by ensuring that they demonstrate professionalism, constructive dialogue and civility in all communications, including when using social media”. Making fun of someone’s dietary choices in public, without having a full understanding of their medical or religious needs, doesn’t seem to align with that at all. It’s the same as when you made fun of Tyra Banks’ career status or Kelly Ripa’s choice of nuts. This video is not professional, constructive or civil. You’ve become the Mean Girl of dieticians and you’re trying to hide it behind memes, but it’s still just online bullying. There are ways to do this that are respectful, but you’ve veered so far from that in the past year. If it’s pandemic stress, maybe step back from these response videos until you’re in a place where you can make them ethically.
@@CJM279 Well in the title of the video she calls her the “BS Queen”, for starters. I suspect the College of Dieticians would find that alone to be unprofessional. I also work in a field in Canada (like Abbey) that has a regulatory body and Code of Conduct, and I know that if I wanted to start making snarky videos about individuals, using my credentials to validate my bullying, my certification would be revoked. All it will take is one formal complaint to see whether or not this behavior (calling someone a “BS Queen” or implying they are washed up, like she did with Tyra) crosses the line into legally unprofessional.
does she get permission from the people she’s reacting to in these videos? because it does seem like she’s getting a little rude with the way she’s responding to other people’s life styles and choices. i’m in no way trying to hate on abbey btw.
I totally agree, not to mention some of the stuff Abbey says is very nit picky and comes across as being a bit aggressive. if I was an influencer I would probably not put my diet out there for the fear of being picked apart by these kinds of videos
Agreed, this was so judgmental… Shr always tears people apart who choose to eat healthy foods, and then got mad when she said she enjoys unhealthy things in moderation. Like, isn’t that what you want from people as RD? For people to at least eat mostly healthy and have the capacity to enjoy “bad” foods without it consuming your life or ruining your health? The whole world would be better off. It’s the way I prefer to eat so that I feel my best, and I know my body will thank me as I age.
She makes videos with an opinion... and speaks truthfully but with some character about what she sees. If she didn’t highlight the glaring shortcomings of these diets, she would be neglecting her personal and professional duty, and possibly endorsing unhealthy eating to those who are susceptible to such messages.
Not everyone is a dessert person. I’d far rather have a glass or three of wine than a dessert food. Idk this one was a little condescending. Diet culture is toxic, but let people have their preferences.
this (minus the dinner) seems like what i would eat when i was deep into my first ED. just a bunch of.. liquid “meals.” also gluten free things are _everywhere_ now ! i have a gluten intolerance (not celiac !) & i’m currently sitting here eating gluten free crackers & gf cookies. it’s not “luck.” it’s pretty simple lol
@@AbbeysKitchen luckily i’m eating a lot better now ! and your channel has been a big part of that ! i watch your videos while i eat and it feels like i’m eating with a friend haha

How is she not absolutely wasting away. Granted I didn’t drink so maybe she’s downing 2+ bottles of wine a day to maintain her slim, but not rail thin physique. I would be in the hospital in about 3 weeks. I’m 5 years recovered, but part of me got a little ED thought “is that the best she can do eating like that and still being normal looking for Hollywood?” I will not be consuming any of her “art”. Lmao. When I watched this I thought, "can't wait to see Abbey's video". Especially between the lemon water, celery juice AND not eating barely any solid foods.
Hi Abbey, I just wanted to leave a comment on what you say about dosha's being "personality traits." That is AN element of it, but its not the only one. I wish people would stop getting their information on Ayurveda from celebrities like Julianne and Gwynneth Paltrow! I am currently in training to be a practitioner and it is in essence is a holistic, practical approach to food and the one which has helped me to heal my relationship with food. The way I have been taught is to not pay attention to "what food to eat for your dosha" unless experiencing discomfort. Instead we are supposed to eat seasonally and according to our own intuition. We are also taught to include food of ALL tastes into one meal, protein, a bitter vegetable, a sweet vegetable and grains, cooked in ghee or olive oil (hunger crushing combo). So kindly, please refrain from comparing it to western science or research. Its not the same, its mind/body and spiritually focused 🙏🏼 Also warming foods are not specifically recommended for Vata dosha, its seasonal and dependent on the time of year. Sorry for the ramble but I get a little bit miffed sometimes. As a Punjabi, the practices of our indigenous cultures often get poo pooed by western medicine and science only for them to then appropriate it later.
I normally find these videos really fun and entertaining, as well as informational, but I found this one extremely judgmental and unnecessary. Even the titles are starting to appear as if they are demonizing these celebrities. I think there’s a way to give feedback on her diet without calling her a “Wellness BS queen”.
I was thinking the same thing. She was a bit much on this one. Just seemed a bit over the top with the sarcasm and cheap shots. It was just too much for me this time.
Comment section doesn't pass the vibe check, plus the caption is a little too aggressive?? Like would you really say to her face she's your new wellness culture b-s queen? This feels mean spirited.
Good video... but it's not shaming by simply saying she doesn't drink coffee. Most people with gut problems are not recommended to have caffeine and that's standard GI advice. I don't drink coffee, matcha, caffeinated tea, etc. It gives me major heartburn. Just because you drink coffee and someone else doesn't isn't an attack on you.
A cup of coffee is so comforting that I buy decaf because being sat watching TV after dinner with a nice warm coffee is such a lovely way to forget about your day ready for bed.
I'm so glad you mentionned Nina's video because when it got to the wine part I was SO confused. I thought ''wait I saw this video already?'' Thank you for your awesome content
Abbey, whoever does your editing is a champ. I had to pause your video to write this comment as I love the little interjections of tv clips. The dishwasher commercial interrupted by Julianne's "lemon water" is gold! Pure gold baby! -as Costanza would say ;)
So….Julianne has endometriosis. If her food rules help her manage her symptoms I would think that would be important to mention in a video like this. I was curious what you were going to say because I have endo too. This video put me in tears by how mean spirited it is. Some of us endo gals out here are just trying to do whatever we can we live life. Food is a big part of that. I would much rather have heard you talk about evidence based nutrition to support endo rather than shred Julianne.
Totally agree - this video was bordering on cyber bullying it was so mean and petty. Super disappointing. Nutrition isn’t one size fits all, and not all dietitians agree on one thing either - this is a “my way or the highway” approach and that’s not realistic or right at all.
@@makeuplover4115 yeah, like in several videos she says to add carbs to the meals, and another nutritionist with a PhD, has a whole campaign for only “one carb per day” but add fat and protein to everything. So, everybody will say something different
Yes this video seems particularly negative (e.g. "if she's lucky???" that's so unnecessary). No idea why Abbey would put out videos on people so haphazardly and without doing the necessary homework. Even if the videos are for entertainment purposes, surely it makes sense to find out about Julianne Hough so that Abbey wouldn't seem ignorant.
Endo girl here... other than going gluten-free (to improve severe symptoms) and increasing some fatty acids, the science is out! And I resent Julianne's video for fear-mongering and promoting pseudo-science. Have a look at the actual research study on going gluten-free for endo and a compilation of all smaller studies on diet and endo, conducted on tiny sample sizes; theconversation.com/can-diet-improve-the-symptoms-of-endometriosis-sadly-theres-no-clear-answer-89231 pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/23334113/
@@frankiefavero1666 understand some of what she is saying is maybe not proven with science… however endo is so strange and not the same for literally anyone so certain diets may help certain people with the disease. I have it also and I know certain foods cause inflammation in my body that may not necessarily be supported by “science”. This video is rude, I agree with the other commenters. Endometriosis is no joke and sometimes random things may help and there is nothing wrong with trying those things!! Also Julianne is a hardcore dancer, so she may have a certain diet to help improve her dancing.
It's just so sterile and joyless and she's massively undereating to the point that I'd be worried if this was someone I knew. Disordered eating masquerading as wellness.
Abbey sharp is the best !!! Honestly she changed so many of my bad eating habbit !!! Im just in love with all her videos , so much informations and she explains everything !!! Keep going Abbey ❤❤❤
Maybe because I’ve met Julianne at a charity event and she was lovely, but I think we could use some context here in that she is a dancer and a performer. This could inform why she “isn’t supposed to drink coffee” and “why she has to eat gluten free”. I have friends who were dancers and when we had big performances if they drank coffee they felt like they would pass out after the performance because their heart rate went up too much, or they had to be careful what they ate (sometimes had to be gluten free) before because their performance anxiety would put them on the toilet if they had pizza for lunch for example.
You can be a lovely person but also be spreading misinformation at the same time. And if she’s dancing and working out a lot than this becomes even more concerning because her calorie intake is not sufficient for high activity levels.
I am a gluten free vegan (gluten free due to intolerance) and I don’t feel deprived because I do eat my favorite foods, just prepared in other ways. But I am not like as restrictive as Julianne in terms of just eating vegetables and drinking lemon water.
Hi, Abbey! Would you ever consider making a video about food/fitness/lifestyle mistakes you made and learned from in your 20s? Or, talk about the choices you made that really worked well for you? I’m in my early 20s and noticing my body is changing a lot since I’ve emerged from adolescence into adulthood. What would you have done differently or what do you think you did right? I’d love some insight from your journey, if you’d be interested in sharing.
Most studies actually show that a well balanced diet with all food groups are most optimal for treating endometriosis, whereas her video is quite restrictive and contradicting. Celery juice, lemon water and apple cider vinegar being a few of many broscience fads with no good evidence to back up their benefits with endometriosis treatment. As Abbey pointed out, she is very active as a dancer and should probably add more protein, carbohydrates and healthy fats to help increase her calorie content.
@@chadrandazzo2305 Everybody and every body is different if this works for her, good, I am not loving this comment section full of hate just bcs of someone else's diet. Is it just me or is it super weird when people say they "take" food or drinks instead of just eating or drinking? Do they think that makes them sound more sophisticated?
Probably, but, I mean, it is also just a regular linguistic variant. So, depending on the person's background, it COULD just be childhood dialect creeping in.
😫
I always pick this bone with people. It’s so comical to watch them struggle with the logic of alcohol - neurotoxic and generally a poison in the most literal sense (acute overconsumption will kill you) vs gluten / sugar etc. I love forcing people to explain why they choose alcohol when they’re so self righteous about “health”.

@@Galworld761 endo here too. No dairy. No alcohol. No wheat/grains/rice for me. No sugars. Lots of veggies and fatty fish/lean protein for me.

Yes for sure, thank you for for bringing this up!
I wish I could give this more than 1 thumbs up. There is definitely a bias in what gets the money for research. Of course there isn't a lot of evidence on things that people don't feel is worth taking time to study

Yeah, the air quotes when saying some people "need" to be gluten free etc really rubbed me the wrong way. Julianne has endometriosis (I do as well) and skipping regular caffeine and making diet changes is a way lots of endo sufferers try to cope with debilitating symptoms. The snark was way heavier handed than necessary.
never clicked so fast
Ikr i loveeeee this
I hope you enjoy it!
I feel like you’re extra sassy with your hair straight and I’m LIVING FOR ITTTTTT
😂❤️
If had to pick ONE (Either wine or dessert) I would choose wine. I'm not too big on sweets as they tend to make me feel not so great, however, donuts from a local donut shop near me AND wine make for the perfect desert/snack for a girls/spa night. Life is way too short not to enjoy these pleasures in life.
I totally agree!
I recently came across your videos and I literally am OBSSESED! I have learned so much, and I love your approach towards healthy eating. I recently recovered from anorexia, and your videos have helped me learn more about nutrition in a healthy and non-triggering way. Thank you!
I'm so glad it's been helpful for you!
I am absolutely loving this new comedic tone, and corresponding editing ☝🏻❤️
How exactly was she making fun of Julianne?
Yes! I agree with you wholeheartedly about all of this.
"I think all plants are great. Especially the plants that give you a buzz." And this is why Abbey is Queen!
😂❤️
Girlll u look stunning in this!!!!!!! Cant wait to seee this!😁
Thank you so much!
Another great video! ALSO love love love your hair style in this one!! Xx
Thanks!
does she get permission from the people she’s reacting to in these videos? because it does seem like she’s getting a little rude with the way she’s responding to other people’s life styles and choices. i’m in no way trying to hate on abbey btw.
Same here. I much rather have some wine instead of dessert
Same!
Celery juice is no one's preference. Plenty of people eat wfpb stuff and Abbey doesn't bat an eyelid if they seem to really love it and relish it
Yes for sure!
@@therabbithat I genuinely like drinking celery juice. I don’t find it disgusting and I like the way it makes me feel.
this (minus the dinner) seems like what i would eat when i was deep into my first ED. just a bunch of.. liquid “meals.”
also gluten free things are _everywhere_ now ! i have a gluten intolerance (not celiac !) & i’m currently sitting here eating gluten free crackers & gf cookies. it’s not “luck.” it’s pretty simple lol
I understand, it might be triggering for some people
@@AbbeysKitchen luckily i’m eating a lot better now ! and your channel has been a big part of that ! i watch your videos while i eat and it feels like i’m eating with a friend haha
Seriously. When I was blatantly anorexic, I ate very similar to this… even her dinner which unless she dumped literally tons (a cup) of sesame seeds on it. I was 96 lbs at 5’9. She obviously triggers me.
@@WHOWHATWHENHOWWHY i’m so sorry you went through that. but i’m so proud of you for being recovered for 5 years !! i have no idea how she’s not a walking skeleton at this point :(
Lmao. When I watched this I thought, "can't wait to see Abbey's video". Especially between the lemon water, celery juice AND not eating barely any solid foods.
I hope you found the review helpful!
When I heard apple cider vinegar, I was like 'NOOOOO!'
Its not the same, its mind/body and spiritually focused 🙏🏼
Also warming foods are not specifically recommended for Vata dosha, its seasonal and dependent on the time of year. Sorry for the ramble but I get a little bit miffed sometimes. As a Punjabi, the practices of our indigenous cultures often get poo pooed by western medicine and science only for them to then appropriate it later.
Thank you for all of the information and for letting me know! I'll be more careful with my wording around this topic in the future
I’ve always enjoyed your videos but I gotta say you are killing it with the edits lately! 👏🏼👏🏼💚
Thank you!
I think that part was a joke lol
A cup of coffee is so comforting that I buy decaf because being sat watching TV after dinner with a nice warm coffee is such a lovely way to forget about your day ready for bed.
I get that too!
I'm so glad you mentionned Nina's video because when it got to the wine part I was SO confused. I thought ''wait I saw this video already?'' Thank you for your awesome content
Glad you enjoy it!
I’d rather have wine as an appetizer and also enjoy dessert.
Yup, both and!😁
Sounds great!
that's a clever way to have both xD
Exactly lol
Caffeine amps up anxiety. Julianne doesnt need to reveal that to say she can't have it
I have to admit! Abbey, you make my day with your sassines😂😂😂
😂👍
Abbey, whoever does your editing is a champ. I had to pause your video to write this comment as I love the little interjections of tv clips. The dishwasher commercial interrupted by Julianne's "lemon water" is gold! Pure gold baby! -as Costanza would say ;)
Thank you!
Have a look at the actual research study on going gluten-free for endo and a compilation of all smaller studies on diet and endo, conducted on tiny sample sizes; theconversation.com/can-diet-improve-the-symptoms-of-endometriosis-sadly-theres-no-clear-answer-89231
pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/23334113/
@@frankiefavero1666 understand some of what she is saying is maybe not proven with science… however endo is so strange and not the same for literally anyone so certain diets may help certain people with the disease. I have it also and I know certain foods cause inflammation in my body that may not necessarily be supported by “science”. This video is rude, I agree with the other commenters. Endometriosis is no joke and sometimes random things may help and there is nothing wrong with trying those things!! Also Julianne is a hardcore dancer, so she may have a certain diet to help improve her dancing.
I was waiting for this video, I swear I would pass out from hunger if I ate like some of these celebrities 🤷🏽♀️
Me too!
I got hungry just watching!
No, really, how do they not pass out…. I’m serious. This is not enough food.
@@pigtailedchef agree
I see her diet and I just think she’s trying to stay as thin as possible and forgetting to enjoy food.
It's just so sterile and joyless and she's massively undereating to the point that I'd be worried if this was someone I knew. Disordered eating masquerading as wellness.
I understand, it is concerning 🙁
The edits on this one really got me, Abbey. This truly was a holy grail what I eat in a day video.
I'm so glad you enjoyed it!
Abbey sharp is the best !!! Honestly she changed so many of my bad eating habbit !!! Im just in love with all her videos , so much informations and she explains everything !!! Keep going Abbey ❤❤❤
Aw thank you so much! ❤️
I love how you mention bananas. So many people have started saying bananas are evil and full of sugar/carbs. I love bananas.
I love them too!
I’m diabetic and bananas really spike me. I love them tho.
LOL, no dairy, no animal products, no gluten and then she has the gall to say everything in moderation.
After saying she loves cookies and all that but can’t have them 😂
She had coffee *and* wine, y'all.
That's wildin' in the La La Land that is Hollywood LOL
😫
But can have a glass of wine
Great idea, I'll put this on my list to discuss!
The editing at 4.30+ had me 😂😂😂 thank you SO mich for making these videos! You are doing us all a great service by educating us like this! 🥰
I'm so glad it's helpful!
Julianne has endometriosis. Some specialists suggest that caffeine can be a source of a flare up for this.
Coffee, but decides to have wine? Her specialist should have probably touched on that
the lemon water segment is already cracking me up 😂 knew this was going to be a good one
😂😂
The seinfield clip of NO NO NO
Meme game on point 👌🏻 I‘ve learned so much from your videos, keep it up! :)
I’m so glad you enjoy them!
yay I am in the screenshot! I have made it! I would like to thank my husband,my dog and my family :D
😂❤️
I’ve been waiting for this! ☺️
I hope you enjoyed it!
@@AbbeysKitchen I did! You never disappoint ☺️
Juliane suffers from endometriosis and she is clearly avoiding any source of potential infammation❤️.
Apart from alcohol
Again, I am sure this has something to do with her medical condition. Protein or not has zero to do with someone's athletic of active abilities, Novak Djokovic is the best tennis player in the world (right now) and eats plant based super restrictive diet❤️🎾.
I am not a vegan nor I am a lemon water freak but sometimes I wish a content creator would do a research before filming a video...that's all.
Loved the video apart from the wine sponsor part. Couldn't one argue it's the same as when you say you *really* love built bars or Rise Kombucha and include them in your WIEIADs?
lmao yeah it's so hypocrytical
when she started with the lemon water I was like: yep. abbey’s going to retire
😂
I saved a few videos to watch with a glass of wine, sprayed it all of my table after the lemon water-detergent-demon eyes insert. Abbie kills me with the sass every time 🤣
Omg I am a nutrition student and I just found your channel! First video I watched and I loved it! Subscribing and excited to watch more! Love a smart person making informative videos 🙌🏼💖
Is it just me or is it super weird when people say they "take" food or drinks instead of just eating or drinking? Do they think that makes them sound more sophisticated?
I think they do 😂
Probably, but, I mean, it is also just a regular linguistic variant. So, depending on the person's background, it COULD just be childhood dialect creeping in.
It’s predominantly British way of saying it. My In laws always say “ I take my coffee “ instead of “ I drink my coffee “.
@@cjtorres5917 makes sense. Maybe Americans are doing it because they think it sounds cooler haha
I'm from the South and I've heard all my life, "How do you take your coffee?"
