Nothing compares to to the simplicity of a basic, lightweight, low powered, off road capable motorcycle. You will get so much better on loose surfaces with this bike than on anything heavier or more powerful. Congrats!
Congrats on the new toy. Strongly recommend soft bags. Much safer off road. Hard bags can easily break Legs and angles off road. You will have way more fun with that bike off road than you would on a pan America
As a fellow Himalayan owner I am happy to see you got one. So cool to see RE support great content creators and do so much for the motorcycle community. You won't be disappointed.
Beautiful bike, i love the analog display, the whole look of this bike. Itchyboots rode a Himalayan when she travelled in Asia and it took a lot of abuse and just kept going and was easy and cheap to maintain and reliable. Also Fortnine made a video about engines manufacturing quality and Royal Enfield got the highest score (or at least one of the best scores). Be happy, you got a great bike👍🥂
I'm sure you've seen Noraly from her Itchy Boots channel. I was absolutely amazed with what she accomplished with her Himalayan on her journeys across Asia/India/Middle East, etc. I'm sure you'll come to love yours too. She'll definitely take care of you when you need her!
It's amazing how many people are opening their eyes to these Royal Enfields. My problem is I can't figure out which one I want the most. Looking forward to your videos on this bike. Ol man ronin's gonna be jealous! Enjoy
I love my 2020 Himalayan! She's a tractor, not fast but will go anywhere, and that's perfect for where I live. Named her Zemu after a glacier in the eastern Himalayas.
I've been riding a kawasaki vulcan s 650 since about April and just completed my MSF course at Harley Davidson. I just recently started riding into work now. Its been such a blast to get into riding this year especially now in Ohio with the weather finally changing. I actually work right up the street from where you started in this video. Its great to see you ride different bikes and hear your review of them. Thanks again for your videos and ride safe!
What a great benefit of all of the hard work that you put in to your UA-cam business. I know that you've talked before about being careful who you partner with and such. I don't see anything wrong with you getting some benefit out of this channel. Like you said, they are paying you to advertise the bike that you already wanted. I hope that it's a ton of fun for you and that you ride it until it's old enough to sell to Shadetree Surgeon.
Hi Jess, this is great news, congratulations! Don't rush with the handlebar risers, you may not need them in the proper standing position. Fortunately, you have a in house fabricator, so let Jordan make simple c-shaped racks for soft luggage. Happy trails!
Guess RE are making room for the Himalayan Scram 411. 😉 But you're worth the bike Jess. And the tripper runs of your phone, you connect them via an app. So you set the route and then it just points to where you should be going.
Such exciting news... what an amazing company to recognize and support you. That bike looks like a lot of fun and can't wait to see you setup a camera and just fly up and down dirt roads all day making clouds of dust!
Toph is absolutely gorgeous!!! I bet you are going to have a blast with her!!! I can’t wait to see you and Jordan out riding together!!! Have fun and be safe Jess..
I think you made a very good choice Jess. I don’t own one but it certainly is on my wish list. In fact I’ve been watching the popularity of RE growing since 2019, and I’m now at a point where I want all of them, 650s, 350s, and Himalayan . Enjoy Toph. Stay safe. Dan✌️🏍🇨🇦
Congrats and enjoy. Old trail/dirtbike trick is to wrap some teflon tape on the handlebars where the clutch and brake lever perches mount. Will help the levers and mounts to pivot on impact and not snap the levers as easily.
As soon as you said you named her Toph I couldn't stop smiling. Its awesome hearing your excitement about the new bike in this video, and I can't wait to see the dirt adventures you'll be getting into. I haven't had a chance to ride a R&E yet but you, ol man ronin, and a co-worker have me wondering on what I'm missing out on.
Congrats! I picked up a Honda CRF300L about a month ago and I have been loving it. Never would have thought I would have so much fun on a low power machine. Can't wait to take it camping soon.
Congrats! Trying to decide on a new bike and Royal Enfield is at the top of my list. I was at one of their riding events last weekend and I’m having a terrible time deciding! Personally I would stick with Royal Enfield for all of your accessories especially after they hooked you up with the bike. They have everything you need; hand guards, engine guards, panniers and pannier mounts.
Congratulations. I'm hoping that mine arrives next week. Mirage silver. I am extremely envious that you got yours free, but you have worked hard for it so I hope to see that you have great times on it.
So excited for you!! My hubby and I ride dual sports (I have a Honda 300 and he has a Honda 650). Mountains are SO awesome to ride through! Congratulations!
This is crazy! I have been looking at this bike for a while, and watched tons of videos! My motorcycling riding experience, which spans about 40 years started out on the dirt, cant wait to see more videos of you on this bike, and let us know what you think!
Awesome Jess!! I’ve just brought a RE Himalayan to go with my big Triumph Rocket 3 Touring. They are awesome machines, they handle the gravel so well, they can do most things the bigger ADV’s can do. They are nice and light, yeah not to powerful but they have torque and get there power to the ground and not just spin the wheel! Have fun, cheers 😎
Congratulations Jess, you not only work your butt off you're so good at being a motorcyclist not just a biker! I've followed you from the beginning and your heart for all motorcycles is infectious. Manufactures know the right person to give a motorcycle to, and you're it! Keep up the great job you've been doing and keep moving forward, be safe!
Thanks man! That’s all I’ve ever wanted from my channel was to actually share the enthusiasm for all things two wheels! I’ve never had a bad time on a motorcycle LOL!
Congrats on the bike! I was thinking back when you got the scrambler that a Himalayan might have been a better fit, lol. That is awesome the North America Royal Enfield worked with you in getting you a bike, bet it was Breeann that helped you out. :-) I've owned a 2019 REH for the last 3 years and put just a little over 10k miles on her. The bike puts a smile on my face every time I ride her. As far as accessories for it, Hitchcock's in England has loads of stuff and delivery is fast. There is also Enfield Accessories and SRC. I'd recommend the GIVI engine guards. Safe travels and can't see what you'll be up to on your bikes.
Congratulations on your new bike! RE's are all beautiful and very easy to live with. And every time you hop on one of them, they bring out a huge grin on your face. So, I'm guessing we'll be hearing a lot more "weeee"s in your videos. Enjoy your new ride!
As a second bike I added a crf300 rally last year and it is great for wandering back roads and gravel roads but I was shocked by how good it is on the highway. It's quickly becoming my go to bike for everything.
I seldom writes two comments on a video, but man, this is exciting!!! HTW on a proper ADV-bike is the best that could happen in the youtube biker community. I can't wait for the garage videos...panniers, engine guards...and the camping!!!... Thank you Jess!!
That’s awesome for you! I think I finally found a mechanic to work on my Grandpas bike. 1983 Suzuki GS850GL. I’m hoping all goes well with it, then I’m going to have it repainted/finished. Anyways I’m stoked.
My old Goldwing is down for repairs, and im seriously considering selling it off for some spare cash to use a down payment for something like this. The fact that it's cheap and can do a little bit of everything (including the some interstate commuting to work) while being small and maneuverable is increasingly enticing to me!
@@thomaspike1475 I can see that, but having rode a Honda Rebel for over two years i don't think It would bother me lol. Also a sprocket change and some upgrades (like intake, exhaust and maybe a power commander) could go a long way towards making it more usable. To each their own =)
@@shagohodsin1562 I rode the Hymalian, then rode the interceptor 650. My comment was if they put the 650 motor in the Hymalian I'd buy it. If you can be happy with the power of a 250 then it should be fine for you.
The are bringing out a 450 version of the himalayan with 40 odd bhp also yamaha are expanding their 300cc range with a 40 hp adv adoption of the little engine both should be good bikes.
NICE! I'm looking forward to your thoughts after some actual gravel roads on this bike. Depending on how it does on dirt for you. There may be another copy sold in Ohio.
Well first off congrats on the new bike. I hope one day I can have a channel big enough to do the things you get to do. And second, that bike is a great bike. You’re gonna love it off-road!
Jess I can see one problem with this bike that you can fix fairly quickly and cheaply. The front rim is way to narrow may I suggest a wider tire up front. This will make Soft, Sandy, Muddy trails way easier to navigate. That narrow front tire will slice right into soft soils.

Jess that is amazing that they gave you the bike! I'm so excited for you to be able to go out with the hubby on some dirt roads and experience something different. The bike is great looking and looks like a lot of fun. You're truly living the dream girl, good for you.
Hi Jess, yes I have an RE 650 INT (Interceptor everywhere else).. It does everything well but not super. It is strong, reliable, easy to maintain, and gorgeous - to me! The Himalayan is a no frills do everything, go anywhere motorcycle - reliably and with fun. A great choice and fab support from Royal Enfield for supporting you to the hilt! FREE! Enjoy it and share all the vids of ownership and the add-ons you plan to fit! Enjoy riding Toph with Jordan!!
Your enthusiasm is contagious. I love that Royal Enfield is Sponsoring the Build Train Race series. My wife and I talked to several of the women building bikes at the Texas RevZilla Ride On motofest last year where we got to meet you. I follow those girls like they are my own kids now. Great people and stoked about their Royal Enfields.
Granted my old Enduro needs alot of work to bring it back to being street legal, as its been used and abused as a dedicated dirt bike since before i got it. The fact that it was my first bike may also play a factor in why I love it so much, but considering I don't have a motorcycle license is also a factor
Nice to see another rider coming around to the fun of light, moderately powered bikes - and Royal Enfield in particular. I went from a sportbike to a v-twin cruiser to an Interceptor, and I’ve never had so much fun with a motorcycle. Hoping to see lots of your new Himalayan!
I’ve truly been wondering how long it would be and what you would choose! Obviously, this is a great move by Royal Enfield and super for your channel. Now, you and Jordan can go out and kick up some dust together! Lol… his Sportster is absolutely beautiful and your Himalayan, Toph, will make a great team. Ride safe Jess!
The Triumph was way too big to learn dirt skills on. I'm sure you know that now. Smaller bikes are more fun in many ways. Finally, now you can explore those backdoors- it all looks the same from the interstate!
Years ago I took a large heavy street bike to Laguna Seca. I thought I was 'fast'. The guys there said, "Get a smaller, (displacement) lighter weight bike. You'll learn more." I bought an RZ350. Learned a lot! Same principle in the dirt! Later!
You should go watch the women that are racing in BTR Royal Enfield class with MotoAmerica. I got to watch them race at VIR last weekend and it was cool to see the beginners going after their dream. You should apply to race them next year. BTW - Those little Himalayans are cool bikes.
For affordable mods, find bike shops out of India who have eBay stores. India has a massive and robust aftermarket for that bike. Also, that's a great bike to learn to do all your own maintenance. Valve adjustments are required every oil change but they are very simple and that thumper only has two valves.
When I became disabled I needed low power to stay safe but enough power to have a good time. The Honda 300s ultimately won me over but the RE was on my list the whole time.
Great choice of color! When I paid off my CB500X I thought of trading her off on a Himalayan in the Pine Green. But, I ended up with a hell of a deal on my Moto Guzzi V85 TT. As far as durability, if you have watched any of Itchy Boots earlier videos she road two different variations (years) of the Himalayan over half to three quarters of the world.
Off road, this motorcycle will be a VERY capable machine. At least as good as the bike your husband has created, if not more so! Some famous riders and tens of thousands of regular riders have tested these motorcycles to death. They take a kicking and keep on ticking! Ride safe. 😁
Congratulations you earned a bike. I just bought a Himalayan Tuesday (RockRed) My Wife picked up a Metor a couple of months ago we love them both.Hitchcock in the UK or off of Ebay i just placed an order from Hitchcock 2 to 5 days I will get the parts. Enjoy the new ride.
AHHHHHHH YES!!!!! I love it so much!! Congratulations Jess!!!! I know very little about these bikes, so I'm super excited to see your adventures and hear about your experiences with this bike. I had a red Himmer for two months before I traded it in for a Road King Special. I love Himmers! Now I have a Pan America Special for my ADV bike.
I love the Toph Character!! Did I ever tell you I watched all the Last Air Bender episodes because of you?

@@HerTwoWheels it was!! Took a few weeks but looked forward to coming home and watching a few every evening 🙂
