  • I never thought I would say this about a motorcycle If you live in the United States like me, then this is the motorcycle you never knew you needed! The brand new, 2022 Royal Enfield Himalayan offers a completely different experience to motorcycling. In this video I share my thoughts about the little motorcycle that could!

    The himalayan is a good bike but not for everyone. It has old world technology which means frequent maintenance but some people like that. If your going to be mostly on us interstates dont buy this bike. If you enjoy mellow off roadl riding on just about any terrain and want to comute on city and country roads then this might be the bike for you. Its a really enjoyable bike. If you enjoy turning wrenches and maintaining your own motorcycle this might be the bike for you

    Rode this motorcycle on the deadly terrains of Ladakh India (18500 Feet) and this bike easily carried one of my friends who stands 6 feet 3 inches and weighs 165 kgs! we even happened to hit 130 kmph on one of the flat stretches up there...this is the best bike I have ridden.. this bike also did not have any starting problems in the high altitudes where oxygen is pretty less..This is a great video..brings back fond memories..keep it going!!

    New Itchy boots girl now, she had done more than 60000 km around the world with this bike. This bike can do what BMW'S GSA and Triumph can't do, like Royal Enfield doesn't require fully synthetic engine oil, it can run semi synthetic engine oil which is less costly and available in lot of areas and country, even doesn't require high octane fuel to refill it can easily run less grade fuel and milage is also awesome and mainly because how easy, practical to use. In india peoples go to #Leh and #Ladak tours which is highly dangerous and challenging roads in the Himalayas which is above 17000 ft with low oxygen. This really makes big BMW and Triumph bikes on shame and also has very less maintenance cost also☺️ check the videos of leh Ladakh tour of Indian moto vloggers in this bikes you will be impressed

      @@backontwowheels9469 if I remember rightly the 350 was LC, it's predecessor was the air cooled RD400. I had the air cooled RD250, with a bit of tuning and a fairing it could top 100mph quite easily :)

    • @backontwowheels9469
      @backontwowheels9469 2 роки тому +2

      @@colinxsd2208 yes they were both quick, both two stroke engines, I was actually priming myself up to buy the RD400 with the coffin tank after taking my test on the DT250, when the RD350LC was announced so I got my name down for one of those as soon as it was available in the UK.
      The reason I asked which 350 it was, was because previous to the coffin tank variant of which your RD250 was one, there was an air-cooled 350 variant with more of a rounded tank, therefore I was trying to gauge which year the guy had mentioned regarding his CB400.
      They were great days in the motorcycle industry before the powers that be started restricting access to two strokes 😖

    I'm glad you have fun on the Himalayan! I've had one for almost 2 years now, it is my first street legal bike and 10k miles later I still love this motorcycle. You hit it on the head as 'the little engine that could'. It's been a very fun confidence inspiring motorcycle to learn on. Yes, it's slow and I would never want to take it where there are a lot of freeways and traffic. And, yes, when riding in a group of faster bikes it seems like you are strangling it to keep up. On the other hand, it does force you to cobble together a route away from the major highways and interstates, allowing you to see small town America up close. You also 'have' to take additional time off for travel due to the slower pace and to allow for the occasional excursion down a beautiful dirt road that crosses your path. Safe travels!

Just make sure the bulk of you engine is placed over part of the metal inlays you see in the road at the lights and you should be good. Powered by Google GPS? That is legal in most states after 2 or 3 light cycles and safe to do so. Check your local laws. If it's crazy busy with cross traffic putting the kickstand down works for me.

    I’ve owned an XL883, an XLCX, and an FXDB before this Himalayan and I have more fun on this than I ever did any of my Harleys & in a completely different way. I’m 80% off-road with this bike and so happy there. My Himi has done everything I’ve asked of it flawlessly.. except for literally anything on the freeway but it feels like REAL motorcycling to me.

    Fun video. Glad you enjoyed. Glad RE brought the Himalayan here. It was the bike that got me back into motorcycling after 30 years, because I moved to AZ, and through bicycling had seen how nice it can be to get out onto the forest gravel/ dirt roads. Thanks for sharing. We sure have warped definitions of need, and little, here in the US. In case any of you give a crap, it gets an amazing 70 mpg too, and unless you've been spoiled by having massive bikes, it's fine on the highways (I know from experience).

    I was stationed at Ft Ord back in the early eighties. Laguna Seca was right around the corner. Hmm, BYOB? Bring Your Own Motorcycle? Yes! Only problem is that my bike at the time was a heavy shaft drive street bike. Everyone said get a 350-550 cc bike to learn on. They were right! I learned a lot on a 350 that I would not have on that heavy bike. Keep up the fun stuff! Good job.

  • @indianchallengeraussieride8488

    Next time you ride one. Leave the start button in the off position. Turn ignition on for 1 minute, turn off for 3 minutes. Turn on again and wait a bit. Start the bike and let it idle for a while and then ride. This sets the throttle bodies so the throttle is accurate with zero freeplay.
