I am friends with a German couple. And, I had the opportunity to fly over to Germany and ride with them for 6 days. We rode so many mountain passes that I was completely lost. Stelvio Pass was my favorite. When I watched the videos of your trip, it brought me right back there. If any of you have the opportunity to do this trip, take it. The history of the towns, the scenery, the culture, and the roads!!!! Oh my, the roads! I will be back.
The realization at 15:00 is what it's all about! Getting off the superslab and seeing the sights and rolling through the small towns, stopping at the small, quiet cafés and meeting the people of the land away from the usual tourist areas. Great video Jess!
Travelling through gorgeous scenery and a history that goes hundreds of years prior to the colonisation of the Americas is always going to be special. There's so much more to see on your next trio. Love to have you back ❤
Hi Jess, a return flight to the US just cost me £550 each. I think with more notice your flight price would come down a lot. Also, you don't need to pay an additional motorcycle insurance when you rent your Harley, it is included in your overall rental price here in the UK. Best wishes, Steve.
Worth every penny, a guided tour like yours with that great crew. Dolomites by far the best place to be with a motorcycle in Europe, rode this trip 3 years ago with my Road Glide Special. I‘ve rode it via the Timmelsjoch pass/ Passo Rombo 8230 ft, with the located Top Mountain Motorcycle Museum. 🤙🏼🍺🍺🍺
Save yourself a butt load of money - fly to Edinburgh, hire a motorcycle and ride around Scotland, North of England, and Wales. You missed out not touring Scotland, like seriously!
Thanks for the info. Europe is an amazing place to ride. Flew to Gevena last year for an MC event. Never been out of the US. Rented from Geneva HD and rode around southern France for a week and the last two days rode around the mountains close to where you rode. One lesson I learned was to let your cell phone provider know you are leaving the country. What a pain in the butt to get cell service established in Europe. And yes, I would go back in a heartbeat. Hopefully 2026 for me.
Hi Jess, brilliant vlog btw. Being in the UK there is a lot of bikers that do this kind of trip that all broadcast on UA-cam for a fraction of the cost. Ok the hotels may not be 5 star but they are comfortable and have the same gorgeous views. The only disadvantage is your flights from the USA to the UK and the hire of a bike, I recently did a europe trip from the UK but i went via Ferry from Dover to Calais £49 return. 1 hour 15 minute crossing. compared to £157 one way on euro tunnel which you went on. you could do that trip at half the cost and in this day and age you can download the trips on your satnav. if you go with a planned tour company you will pay a premium but for those that want to experience this glory on a budget there are other ways this can be done. Plus like the USA if you have an issue with your bike other bikers will be on hand to give you assistance. Now you have the travel bug you should definitely consider the UK and Ireland you will be very surprised.
So glad you got to enjoy the trip to it's max. Being from England we have the luxury of being able to do that sort of trip each year. We have the expense when we come across to visit the US. Luckily I have done LA to DC already and will be back in March to do FL to CA. Biking holidays are how I like to spend my vaccinations
Interesting video. I saw the road-videos of your trip. They are very well made. Professional, likeable, good looking and interesting. But here are a few of my thoughts about this video: It's not really the best idea to do an Alpine tour on an HD. And certainly not the cheapest. There are plenty of motorcycles that are better suited for this. But of course that's also a matter of personal taste. Furthermore, the UK is less than ideal as a starting point for such a tour. Much better starting points would be northern Italy, Switzerland, Austria, the south-east of France or southern Germany. Milan, Innsbruck, Nice, Zurich or Munich would be good starting points. There are several providers of guided tours in this region. To every non-European viewer of this video: Of course it is possible to experience the alps for much less money. It'll never be cheap if you can't bring your own bike with you. But it is doable for much less than the amount of money mentioned in the video. Especially if you don't need guides. Do your own research. And one question: If this tour is outside the comfort zone, what would a motorcycle tour within the comfort zone look like?😉 But one thing is certain: Exploring the Alps on a motorcycle is one of the things a motorcycle rider should do in her/his life.
A change of scenery changes your perception of everything. Not only of motorcycle trips, but also of your life. In any case, it did just that for me... and yes, I am an European but travel a lot in Asia. Big thanks for an awesome video!!
That's not actually that bad... I've had my fair share of Navy port calls in Japan, Hong Kong and Singapore.. and traveling is such a great memory maker !! This tour has now become a life goal once I learn to ride my motorcycle with a bit more proficiency !! 😊
Thanks for the breakdown, it was a little cheaper than I was thinking, figured about 12,000 for one person. Maybe someday, just so many places in this country that I haven’t even seen yet. I would have to find a partner if I was going across the ocean on a trip, don’t really feel that I would want to go alone.
Hiya Shawnmaxwell - I am uk based and have been along on Tour1 tours, solo - you are never alone on these trips as you do develop lifelong friendships on the tour, very quickly - as Jess has said - its like waking up to family breakfast each day :)
Pfiew... expensive... as a European I can guarantee you there are way cheaper ways to do the same trip. Fi this years tour of 12 days through Belgium, Germany, Austria, Italy, Slovenia, and Croatia, I payed a little over 1500 euro's, all foods, drinks and fuel included. Last year (self organised) for 19 days through Belgium, France, Germany, Switserland, Italy, ferry to Greece, Greece and then back... all in 2800 euro.
@@ashebarley77385 i'm not a travelagency, nor do I organise trips. There are some specified agencies in Belgium that offer motortraveltours (guided or non guided). A decent motorcycle rentalcompany is also available. I guess, if you take a top segment bike (HD or BMW 1250GS, RT...) you'll be looking at around 650 euro/week (insurance incl). So... trip via agencie from 750 to 1500 euro (7days till 14 days) bike rental (2 weeks around) 1300 euro. Trip (mostly halfboard breakfast and diner) + bikerent around 2500 euro. Fuel is depending on bike and distances, but on my BMW, I'm around 5,5l/100 km (43 mpg). A trip is around 3000 kms so around 160 liters of fuel at 2 euro/l is 320 to 350 on fuel. Food and drinks is personal. Flight to Europe and back is also depending on factors.
As soon as I saw part 1 of your trip, I was ready to go. Obviously, it's a trip that has to be budgeted for. But I would love to do this. Tour 1 has different options as well. Can you go through your thought process on how you and Jordan packed for this trip. And maybe talk about things you didn't need. Or maybe something you think you should have brought but didn't.
For comparison: A tour through the US southwest 15 days and 2400 miles, including flights and a motorcycle, 2 persons, 1 bike, motel stays (e.g. best western), excluding dinner and fuel, is offered in Germany for 6.200 € p.P. For 1 person per bike it is 8900 €.
cool tour, but like all other tours, you end up paying SO MUCH just because somebody "organized" it. I prefer organzing it myself and saving around 70%
I want to go. I have been to Europe. It's not that big compared to the United States. I'm going to save my pennies and pack my bags to go. Thank you for the break down.
That looks so amazing.. I will do it one day.. I think I would have to look into shipping my bike over.. I would feel like I was cheating if I rented one 😢
Just wanted to say thank you for the imformation on tour one's trip next year to the Swiss Alps! I talked to Gary and ended up booking the trip you went on for 2025! I am going to skip England and start in Munich. Im 70 but been riding since i was 13 , I do about 10.000 miles a year My wife and i just got back from vacation down in Ashville NC a few weeks ago, Rode the dragon and and all the great roads down there. But im still a little concerned about the roads in the Alps . I'll be going solo , my wife refuses to fly. Should be the trip of a lifetime. I do have a question, You said a couple quit the tour on one of the first day. May i ask why? Thanks again! Paul
As an European, we should start Bike Surfing ( like couch surfing). You guys come on over and we guide you for free and we will come to US you you be our guides😅. Would love to ride those endless highways on a good old American land barge during the summer.😅
Thank you very much for the breakdown of the cost of the European motorcycle trip. I'm retired so have fixed income and waiting for plan b of my retirement to kick in which is winning a lottery of greater than 300K USD then I can go on this amazing tour. 😎
So in comparison it isn't even that more expensive then the same time on a cruise or Disney World, lol. Not bad in comparison to what you get with the tour. Granted still a lot of money but more then worth for the growth, experience and of course the memories and meeting new friends who enjoy being on 2's.
I know it was expensive however, as someone from Europe (Ireland), who's currently planning a trip to Sturgis next year, for my son & myself, what you paid doesn't seem too bad 🤣.
Hi, I didn't quite understand the Hiway Queen v Interstate Joke? I knkw interstate is from state to state not so sure about highways. I mean in UK we have Motorways and A Roads /Duelcarrige ways then smaller roads. You received a 20k USD free vacation for you and your husband to make videos about. You did get paid to make this video. Claiming anything else is disingenuous at best and probably bordering on criminal.

Apparently motorcycle touring through the mountains causes a person to get very very thirsty.....😂
😅😅😅
it's the mountain air, you're higher up. It's normal. 😆

There are always cheaper ways to do things, not disagreeing that. This is just the specific tour I took.
When I ride in the states weather it's in a car or motorcycle, I try to take state routes. It's so much more interesting than the interstate system.

Your grand total is a little cheaper than what I was thinking somewhere in the ballpark of 15K to 20k
I was guessing around $10K so I love to see the expectations haha
Hello, Jess. I think it all comes down to what you are into. I think the Alps tour is definitely worth the price. Have a great weekend.

I would of guessed that a motorcycle tour package would include the motorcycle rental. Would be a fun trip minus any french people.
