Diy tutorial for outriggers.
Awesome
Fishy fingers I just bought the tamarak 100 and want the outrigger setup you have up front but dont really want to cut big hole and add hatch just to bolt rod holders. Is there an alternative way to properly secure them. If not do you think I could mount them a little further back from where you first put yours to avoid paddling issues. I've already ordered the parts. I'm very impressed with how your yak came out. Any advice will be greatly appreciated. Thanks F.F please reply
You say tamarack 120?
Samuel Vigil kayak rivets
@@sergeantklein6026 thanks D. Just now putting it together
this is by far the best mode update on this kayak i have seen. good job bud
Nice Kayak, I'm digging the front hatch and the stabilizers. Definitely going to try doing both.
Thoroughly enjoyed your videos there buddy. We share a lot of similarities in between our kayaks and not just brand, make, model, and color but ideas. And given me a lot to think about and I truly appreciate it. I hope you have a nice safe time in your kayaking adventures.
SWEET.. I really dig everything you did too your kayak seems like you thought of everything.👍👍
dude, you went ham on this Tamarack! Respect!
I tried spray painting the scupper plugs too and they immediately chipped lol. tilted me out so I bough black ones off amazon.
@@ninjabic I'm all about function over astetics! But if I can make it functional AND aesthetically pleasing, I'm all about that too! LoL
@@KayakKingdom what diameter is that front hatch and does it leak around the edges as i want to add this but don't want to take on water thru it? Ty my email is djcrusherr@gmail.com
8" hatch on amazon. look it up, they're pretty much all the same. you have to use nuts and bolts, because tightening it straightens on the slight "v" dip in the front. a little bead of silicone around the entire perimeter of the hatch and your golden
@@KayakKingdom i found a 9" hatch but I might be pushing it lol I want to fit a battery in the front I added boat bumpers to mine, 3" cushioned stadium seat, custom crate (walmart brand) triple rod holder, paddle leash, dive flag, led flashlight stern light, battery box with usb ports, cigarette plug, volt gauge connected to two momentary switches which will measure 11.1v LIPO4 battery and the trolling motor 12v battery I like your mods the only thing I havent done is the tomato pole and the anchor trolley
Best mods to this model, to-date!! Great job, thx for the ideas!!
Some very thoughtful and useful mods. Thanks for sharing.
Great mods bro! All you're missing is a trolling motor! Your well thought out attention to detail makes my ocd very happy!! Great job!
WOW!! I just picked up my Tamarack Angler today and even though I had a lot of ideas already, your video gave me even more! I’m definitely going to consider the stabilizers now.
Thanks so much for sharing your great, creative mods!
Thanks!
Fishy Fingers have you considered doing a detailed video on exactly how you made your stabilizers?
@@TheFishingMommy unfortunately, I sold the yak and got a center console boat. But I followed this DIY. (With some modifications)
gearcloud.net/2017/07/diy-kayak-outriggers/
For the price it's a great kayak. Mine was dirty and dusty (no damage) from being stored in the patio section at walmart. Just from mentioning how it was dirty I got walmart to lower the price to $230.00 from 279.00 lol
I love your ingenuity. Great job, man
Wow! You decked it out nicely.
Congratulations great job. We have similar float stabilizers on our two Kayaks. For grab-n-go we purchased two inexpensive large duffle bags to store life jacket, basket, float stabilizers, and fishing gear. Both Kayaks are then carried on fold down J racks on top of SUV.
Sweet set up. I love the kayak. Lots of good ideas.
NIce job! Love the Stabilizers!
Very well done. I'm 68 and need some extra's to help me along. I'm looking at a lot of ideas, and so far for simplicity for my needs, it looks promising.
Very nice setup. Everything looks handy and quick to get at.
Thx for this man, tight lines.
Having owned several kayaks in the past, I can say this build is awesome. You have everything that the high dollar kayaks have. Nice work on this!
Thanks! Even having an actual boat. Which I love! I miss this little kayak
It's called a micro power pole. And unfortunately its about 600$ out the door
I like how much you upgraded the Tamarack... shows me what i can do to mine! thanks and happy fishing buddy
Solved my bait board need. Thanks for some great ideas for me.
MacGyveryak! Brilliant.
Great video! Thanks. I'm getting one!
My goodness I love this. Im going to do all these things to mine
Need some links to where you found all this gear! Nice job!
Very nice mods.... I think this is the nicest Tamarack I have seen tricked out; Good Job.
I own several expensive Yaks to include the 2019 Hobie Outback but, I can say the Tamarack for under $300 is one of the best small yaks I have spent 6 hours on in the Arkansas Buffalo river, it tracks really well for how cheap it is. I am gonna buy one for my daughter this Spring and give me an excuse to trick it out too haha.
Keep up the vids, I am a new Yak channel and will def be checking yours out.
New friends here from Trail Trash Outdoors! Love the stabelizers! I have the same kayak and would love to have something simular! Thanks for sharing you have one sweet ride!
Love the mods bro ! igot the same kayak, thanks for the motivation and the upload.
Thanks man. I enjoyed working on it. Was fun. And enjoying fishing out of it even more!!
Thanks for the great idea definitely doing this with mine when it worms up i have the same kayak
Very thoughtful! Excellent presentation. Thanks so much.
Real ingenuity love it
Awesome! 👍
Thanks for some really great ideas
Fishy....A "shout out" to YOU for this video. It was the outriggers that you made, that motivated me. I took your basic design and added outriggers to my Ozark Trail Pro Fisherman (same as Boss 12 SS). BUT....I added pivoting joints so that I can push a button and fold the pontoons up vertically. The outriggers work GREAT !! THX.
I would love to know what outrigger parts you got. i really want to do this to mine. amazing idea!
@@CoconutWaterfalls Bro....I am swamped right now, but i'll start gathering the parts & pieces and at least post something within the next couple weeks. Here's a link to the joints I used...... Link adjustajoints.com/ and here's one for the top cross-bar support.... ua-cam.com/video/0kvEeKIn-mI/v-deo.html Hope these help, for now. The cross bar between the two outriggers "is key" to successful stabilization. Without the cross-bar between the two, there is a LOT of flex on each individual side....not good.
Awesome idea for the stabilizers and hatch !! nice vid!
Thanks. Alot of work went into it. Hopefully have another one soon. After I get the skiff up and running proper
Thanks for some great ideas
Lots of pretty brilliant ideas and solutions. i'm marking this one for future reference. Thank you for posting this.
Very nice work. It looks similar to some of the early versions of my Superyak.
Awesome. Gave me some great ideas. Thanks.
i just ordered mine. cant wait.
Sweet great setup
Truly inspiring, great and genius job with all the adaption.
Outta hand quality ... really enjoyed the tour
Luv it bro!!! About to get my 1st kayak and I definitely use alot of your ideas!!! Checking in from the Dallas Tx Metroplex!!!
Thanks for sharing!!
No problem. Dont forget to subscribe!
Hey Michael check Oceans State Job Lot they have a kayak for $250 ship to store and its a battleship (big) it was there were I got mine in camo! kaya fishing its another game best regards to you and family.
Nice job bro impressive work on the kayak
Awesome set up I like the cutting table removable Niceeeeee 👍👍👍👍👍
Love the stabilizers!!! I’m 150lbs I can stand in this kayak but it’s real sketchy. Hands down for what you pay you can’t beat the tamarack.
Add the stabilizers they make a huge difference. Anytime the yak wants to roll the stabilizers stop it from rolling.
U did a great job!
Wow man, u went crazy on that thing! Mod champ!! Nice build
still stayed under $400-450 max
Unreal, and awesome
Thanks so much for
That's a really great looking boat
Nice job!!
Nicely Done 👍🏼
I have this exact kayak haven’t done much to it yet but boy do I have the ideas now well your ideas thank you
no problem man. I want people to use these ideas 💡, it took me a lot of internet research and brainstorming to finish this kayak. I posted it for others to have ALL that info in 1 video
Fishy Fingers thanks again
Awesome!
thanks!
Nice job!
Nice job, I have the same kayak and was just looking for ideas.
Nicely done, thanks
Man... Lots of good ideas for mods.
Subbed and ordered outrigger parts. Thanks
Clever stuff. Nice video.
Great ideas!...nice job....
Nice Man!👍
That tomato stake shallow anchor is genious!!!
it's not. after several uses. being hollow it is not up to the task and will bend.
better going to grainger and getting a fiberglass rod
@@KayakKingdom thank you Fort he reply. Even with that, in premise tho, still genius.
Great video! I'd love to see more videos of your kayak or you slaying some bass on it
Sold it. Bought a 17 ft. Center console boat
Love the stabilizers
thats a cadillyak of of kayaks well done dude
I see what you done there
Thats a dope kayak!! Im gana make one!!
Sell u mines lol
Your stabilizers are genius. I never thought of using rod mounts for a temp mount. And the shallow anchor is pretty nice too. Scupper hole is a good idea, except it would be in the way when fishing
You can also put it through the anchor trolley
@@KayakKingdom right. I was just pointing out that scupper mount would get in the way. Great idea none the less.
Like the idea
Very creative and budget friendly 👌 👍
Bad ass set up on a budget
I have three Tamaracks. They are pretty stable starting out. But I really do appreciate you posting this video. I learned a lot from it. And don't be bothered by all of the other morons that want to condemn you for some reason. I don't know why but there's a bunch of haters in the world. Keep on doing what you're doing!
Best setup I’ve seen for the Tamarack or similar. I am starting to get close to your configuration and raised the seat, put on some outriggers (in the back in my case) but am starting to see the negatives as well. The setup and breakdown for each trip is killing me, I need to streamline it somehow or something. Sometimes I daydream about my first simple sit-inside kayak lol. Just grab your poles and go.
I just order a vibe shearwater 125.
I hauled it on my pickup bed with a hard tonneau cover so left almost everything on. except the stabilizers which come off with the press of 1 button.
PEACE...EXCELLENT walk through and work done , you are detailed and experienced....
Such an obvious idea!!!!! Thank you so much for sharing.
When I say obvious I mean why didnt I think of that....excellent idea.
@@jdalend which part? LoL
Using rod holders as a place to attach the rigs...
Sick mods man
Nice job
Great!!! When you can't get into hull to attach something with bolt and nut, how do you use the self-tapping screws so they don't strip away plastic if tightened too much?
pre drill and hand tighten with a screwdriver
Nice kayak set up.
Looks like you did a nice job
Good video I subscribed....getting ready to get one for Christmas. I hope to add vids also. God bless. I’m like you I want all the necessities and be prepared always.
I'M DEFINITELY GONNA USE SOME OR YOUR IDEAS!!!, WILL GIVE YOU A SHOTOUT WHEN I DO!!!
Josean Rivera let me know if you have any questions.
Awesome
Nice set up you got there...
Thanks!
wow you have so many good ideas on this thing. I hope it’s still serving you well
sold it and bought a 17ft bay boat. but I wish I would've kept it for really skinny water
Fishy Fingers sometimes you can’t beat a boat. glad you recorded video of the rig though, i’d love to use some of your ideas. you did it the right way for sure
So I did the same thing at first with the outriggers. Do you find the boat is just as stable with the in the front as they were in the back? They do get in the way when paddling...
Nice rig!
thanks! check my other vids I got a new rig
That outrigger link is dead. Do you have an up dated link?
More videos please! 😎
Hella cool
Have a great weekend
I'm loving and taking your idea for my Yukon on the out riggers, I ordered both rod holder and floats now I noticed the piping was just PVC or EMT it's a compound of such but what did you use for it??
different diameters of PVC
this vid shows me what is possible.
Pimp my kayak...Lol. This kinda reminds me of guys with their Ar 15s who kit them out with every attachment under the sun but the difference is your attachments are useful.
I have a glock 17 with attachments. No AR..........yet
Nice fishing rig.
First video where I dont feel like you just youtube copy and paste I really want a nice setup like this but all the stuff you see is literally stadium seat and anchor line like that guy did thanks for the video
I have one of these, best thing I bought for $200+
Have to say, the "power pole" through the scupper drain holes is brilliant! I'm kicking myself for not thinking of that! I wonder if a telescoping painters pole or similar would fit so you could adjust the length of the pole for what depth you're in. Hmm
you could. but if its not fiberglass or stainless, it'll rust with a quickness
@@KayakKingdom What clips did you use to attach the stake to the side of the kayak?
@@bennytierney clips are for a boat "anchor light" stotage. look up on amazon
Hey Danny, How deep is the hull at the front where you installed the Dirty Bird 8" dry hatch? Would it hold a group 27 marine battery? ( approximately 9" tall )
Terry Dunn I believe it would be a tight fit for height and width. I can't check cause i sold this kayak for a boat! Vids coming soon!
Really nice setup! Just got the same kayak..curious so with all the stuff u screwed in on the side, like anchor trolley, n shallow water anchor mount ect.. are you using rivers or self tapping screws? What's best way to secure if u can reach other side with locking nuts? Thanks!
Gabe DJ Gmix Sanchez the outriggers and front hatch are bolted with nylon lock nuts, most other things were self tapping stainless steel screws. Or you can use aluminum rivets.
