I seen a couple comments about your shakey video....I have to say for myself I don't mind it I appreciate that you are a guy just out enjoying the outdoors and sharing your experience. I appreciate that a whole lot more than some guy with thousands of dollars in sponsorships and a whole camera crew making a video telling me to buy whatever product they are sponsored by. I ordered a tamarack 100 and it should be here in a few days. I am very excited for it and to go hook up some fish. I turned mine into a rig I can troll for 8 hours. I use it to fish salmon, just have to be aware of tipping in rough conditions. These kayaks are made of HDPE, high density polyethylene. They are different from plastic as they do not degrade or damage as quickly as plastic. They cannot accept adhesive or anything that bonds with simple plastic however. Good vid and LIFETIME is a great Co with excellent customer service.

Haha good point about the front bungees. I got a cheap used Kayak (Lifetime Kenai) and took it out for the first fishing trip last night. I caught a small bass and it got stuck along with the spinner bait under that front bungee. Keep in mind this was my first kayak bass haha. I had to use the paddle to slide under the bungees and push the fish back to me. Thankfully the hook didn’t go into the cord. Being my first time out fishing on it, I was not too sure how much to move around without flipping it. Think I will remove mine as well and leave the back one in place.

Good review on this particular kayak, Adam. I've looked at buying one vs the more expensive ones at Dick's Sporting Goods. I bought one of the cheaper $188 kayaks about three years ago and it's about time to replace it. It's been a fun toy using it on calm lakes and times when the James River is calm and not flooding. That's good advice to remove those bungee cords when you're a fisherman. If you need a bungee or some cordage to secure gear you can always add it that time. I often float along the banks looking for potential camping sites and I'll secure my tent on the bow and place a dry bag with gear between my legs or feet. With these Walmart kayaks or any kayak or canoe it's a good idea to wear a PFD...you never know. PFD's have saved my life while jet skiing. A young boy lost his life last summer on the James River when he fell from his kayak and hit his head on a tree branch just below the water's surface. His mother couldn't convince him to wear his PFD.

Well, we live at the other end of the James River where that Civil War Monitor and Merrimac battle took place.
I need something with a more round bottom, V hull, with secondary stability. To roll over waves.
It's hard to find something between this and too serious ocean kayak, one that requires constant attention, built for speed.
Used to be able to get canoes like that, shaky when getting in, but secondary buoyancy kicking in, sadly only flat bottoms are affordable, you have to spent $2,000 to get one.
Still, it's good to see these reviews on these affordable kayaks.

"Don't like my truck smelling like pond water".
    LOL.
Man, that smells, well, like fishing.
Used to help out on a shrimp boat, back in high school, circa 60s, you would come back to the dock in the morning smelling like shrimp, the bottom of the water you were dragging nets along.
    Unfortunately you couldn't smell yourself.
Every time I now smell that, or fish smell, on a real working marina dock and pass this ilk, well, it smells like money, some guy making a living.
The tourist sitting at the open marina bar, grill, complaining about it. Gee, it's a working waterman dock, what did you expect, roses.

Good review mate. Only thing is a paddle leash and a life jacket. Most don’t see them essential but dropping a paddle is like having a car without a motor. Happens easy too when you get more focused on bringing in fish. Life jacket well better be safe than sorry. Plus most fishing life jackets have handy pockets to put pliers etc in. I think I'm gonna add some small pontoons to to the front and back to mine. I felt like I was gonna tip over if I tried to get something off the back of the boat, and give it a little more weight capacity as well as added stability, I weigh 235 and I mounted a trolling motor and a battery I'm maxed out on weight. I just bolted a 2x4 behind the seat for the trolling motor and it works fine. I might even add another 30 lb trolling motor, they are so cheap. I just used my Cat battery jump starter that has a 200 amp hr battery and a 200 watt inverter. and it worked great for my first run. and it doesn't weigh a lot. I have 2 small solar panels I'm gonna employ. They could sit on the rear pontoons. They will add a little bit of power while I'm fishing.

How can a camera with such an amazing image have such crappy audio?

Your video is two years old, are you still kayak fishing? I bought one on impulse not knowing anything ahead.. one thing i did not expect is how painful it is to load and unload your kayak before or after launching or docking it. Man, this is so time consuming to grab everything in your truck , walk back and forth to equip the kayak. Because i also use a small trolling motor , a battery, a fish finder and atleast 3 rods… with all the other gear and stuff , it takes me atleast 20-30 min to launch the kayak. Im lucky because i found a spot where i can launch the kayak 25 feet from where i can park..but still.. the kayak is too heavy to lift with a trolling motor and a battery on it. So i have to remove them to lift the kayak up.. can't put a fullly loaded kayak on a cart either.. it is just too heavy. Beside, i wouldn't want o leave anything on the kayak while on the freeway.. so i put everything inside the vehicle. (After the kayak is secured and fully strapped, that alone is also time consumer but necessary if you don't want to kill anyone on the road) At home i have to wash it with soap so that my garage doesn't smell like a pond..but my trolling motor does make my truck smell a little so i try to get it out as soon i get home… the i hang my kayak on the wall in my garage to save some space .. again that s another 70 pounds bro. So everytime i go out fishing with my kayak, i lift my kayak by hand probably 10 times in the entire day. Thats alot of pain for my back. Im starting to think about getting a tiny small fishing boat on a small trailer.. they seem to require less muscle.

It is a lot of work getting the kayak loaded and put in the water. As long as I catch fish it is worth the effort. But those days that I can't find fish. Makes you a little aggravated. I just bought a house with on a lake. I've been trying to find a decent kyake for a decent price. I need two for her and I. I'm a little worried about not spending enough and ending up with cheap junk. I'm just not convinced on these Walmart boats. Good review though.

For the price it is a great Kayak. Great to see if you like Kayak fishing . They do not compair to more expensive Kayaks . I just bought 2 Riot Mako 12s and are a way better kayaks, but are also $1500 each. I go kayak fishing way more then the average person. For a every once in a while use. The Tamarack will be a good choice. If you are going to spend Hours on the water like I do , get a more expensive Kayak with a better seat.

@@TROPHY-HUSBAND I think I'll fallow that advice. I'd rather buy once and save in the long run. Thank you .

Lifetime Tamarack is not a wal mart boat , wal mart just happens to sell them along with many other retailers. I got mine from Tractor supply. The only thing I can really complain about is the seat back could be better.
