Derek Luke (Joshua) is a very underrated actor. Another great movie he's in is Antoine Fisher with Denzel Washington. It is also Denzel's directorial debut.

I’ve actually heard of this one a lot. Mainly because Sofia Vergara stars in this one, but the movie was still talked about because of the other things in the movie.
The Madea movies have always been sort of a big part of my childhood ever since I discovered Tyler Perry when I was around 7-8 years old (I’m 18 now). So I’ve always had sort of a soft spot for Tyler Perry and his movies (specifically Madea).
The first time I watched this in the theater a certain scene had me laughing so hard my stomach hurt and had tears. Heck, the audience was laughing so hard a long we kind of missed part of the next scene. 🤣🤣🤣

I Can do Bad All by Myself - 2009, is a a great movie also with made but also tackles serious real world issues As well as Big Happy Family - 2011, which goes more into Madea's family structure and much like his other movie has a mix of comedy and seriousness, this movie also reveals more backstory of Cora (Madea's daughter) and then Mr. Brown (Cora's father, the man that is always wearing the wacky clothes)
I think we're all recommending the plays without telling you which one to start with. "Madea's Family Reunion" is the most popular. It's hilarious, amazing cast, Mr. Brown and Cora are in it and Madea lands her best jokes and squares up with the best villain characters. Keep in mind his plays are musicals too, so be prepared to sit through about 5-10 songs per play.
55:41 most these madea movies and non madea movies were first plays he had done. So as comedian and playwritter, you can see how he improvs and the cuts. Also, I would suggest Meet the Browns Angela Basset and Haley is in it.

I Can do Bad All by Myself - 2009, is a a great movie also with made but also tackles serious real world issues
As well as Big Happy Family - 2011, which goes more into Madea's family structure and much like his other movie has a mix of comedy and seriousness, this movie also reveals more backstory of Cora (Madea's daughter) and then Mr. Brown (Cora's father, the man that is always wearing the wacky clothes)
Last Holiday is a good one, it has Queen Latifah and LL Cool J

I think we're all recommending the plays without telling you which one to start with. "Madea's Family Reunion" is the most popular. It's hilarious, amazing cast, Mr. Brown and Cora are in it and Madea lands her best jokes and squares up with the best villain characters. Keep in mind his plays are musicals too, so be prepared to sit through about 5-10 songs per play.
Random Fact: Candace is played by Keshia Knight Pulliam-who also played Rudy on The Cosby Show.

They are beloved character that were first introduced in Tyler Perry's plays. Love watching you guys laugh and enjoy these movies.
