    Again, this series desperately needs:
    1) Live fact checking
    2) Better moderation
    3) Better preparation from the participants (encourage them to come with stats and articles and numbers)
So many of these discussions go off the rails bc people are saying things that either aren't true or aren't on prompt and it's so frustrating.

Often times it seems like they select people who are knowledgeable on their opinion, only on one side, just like in the Palestine one a few days ago. They should have had Palestinians from Gaza or the West Bank, who had lived experiences to speak. Not “my aunt” story. The amount of lies that went unchecked was gross.

They’ve done it much more often recently and then started charging you to go watch their full version. I don’t want to pay for the full version if it’s still gonna be lackluster question topics, people consistently cutting each other off with no moderation and their arguments eventually getting cut off to get to the next topic. Becouse czechoslovakia was one of the economicly more prospering socialist countries. They wanted to abolish the wealthy rich and made the most people in the same economic weight class as. Around the 40:00 mark, this is the biggest crux of Capitalism vs Communism. Capitalists are typically against the ideation and formation of monopolies, in order to ensure against this they must work towards decentralization of markets, currencies, and even power. The number one tool of decentralization has been the dissemination of power and wealth through decentralized methods; individual human rights through federated republics and competing businesses that compete not just in products and services but also in wages for the labor market, respectively. Communists on the other hand, put all their stock and faith into a singular state ran uni-society meaning a government/police/corporation hybrid.
For the former, if one part fails, you keep a majority and you have a chance at recovery. For the latter, if the one and only part fails, then the rivers will flow with blood.

Honestly they need to cast people that are capable of having a conversation, not just people that passionate talk at each other. Can’t sit through this ep. The best one of these I’ve watched was the alpha vs beta males because both sides listened to each other and there was a sense of understanding and respect from both sides throughout, even when they disagreed. Basically they managed to have a successful conversation.

How about the small private companies that need the assistance of the government (which I think is a kind of government intervention) to be able to compete against the big private companies who are now monopolizing some in demand industries? Are we now to say that the government should not intervene when there is inequality of opportunity with regards to small private companies competing against big private companies?

Interesting, I am a South African and moved to China about 5 years ago. In that time I was able to buy 2 houses back in my country, play in an International Band, bought my dream motorcycles, got married and care financially for my mother back home. If I stayed in South Africa, I wouldn't have been able to do any of that in such a short time. I am not into politics, but what people don't realize is China is VERY MUCH capitalistic with Chinese and communistic characteristics. This interesting blend of politics allow the hard working to make a living and not just survive.

Capitalism is the son of slavery. It’s a very similar exploitative system which exploits the lower class and is in complete control.
How do you quantify the value of someone’s work or ability to work?
The same system exploited minorities for years after slavery was abolished thru contracts with former slaves. You still have modern day slavery through capitalism via private prisons.
Honestly brother molombo probably knew all that. He probably didn’t wanna go there on the slavery topic seeing as he’s the only brother there.

I disagree. I think her perspective was very important as she was the one person on either panel to have extensive lived experience under both forms of government (lived in China for 8 years). As well the fact that she is more of a normal everyday person who lives under these systems, is passionate about her general stance on politics of course, but isn’t as theory based as the other two (which I completely agree was totally necessary to have on the panel as well, and they did a great job, as did she). I think it’s important to have a). Someone with lived experience under both approaches if we’re going to be comparing the two, and b). A stand in for where most people fall in their general understanding of politics. Which I genuinely think she did a great job doing.
