I love the crash alarm, friggin histerical! I was at our indoor flying venue which is a very large school gym, one of the guys had one, and like you said it did fine in the bigger space.
You're just waiting for Q to pop up and go "Red Alert!" XD

Love Star Trek (original series only) and love quad copters, but I returned mine, just didn't have enough room to display it and it flew so so. Thanks for your videos.

I just want one because I am a S.T. fan. Been one since 1966. Mine will end up in a display case for a while,then back in its box as a collectable. More than likely I will remove the main battery and toss it because batterys and time are not a good combo. I didnt expect it to go warp speed in the first place. I think its great it makes the emergency sound when it crashes. Good review! I already know I am getting one for christmas. My daughter saved her Thomas the Tank engine from her youth and that thing is already worth a bunch of money. I do have the original blue prints from the Enterprise I bought when I was 13. It is now worth a lot more than what I paid for it back then. Its interesting however that many things are being reproduced from my youth. I didnt get involved with any of the Star Wars Toys as I was 17 by then. I wish now I would have at least saved the original posters I got when that first movie came out. Oh well. Even had I invested in the toys available back then and just stored them,I would have done well as an investment. Now days,everyone saves everything with the idea it may be worth something someday. Thats when they are not worth much,because everyone is collecting them.

Great vid Ryan. Love the this as a product. It has all the things that make a thing good. The biggest thing I can say about it (I do not own one) is that it is not Infrared. Air Hogs is finally making some products with 2.4ghz Tx/Rx. This looks like a good buy for the right reasons.... 1 Decent price. 2. Decent looks. 3 Decent features. 4 Decent pricetag.. 5 Decent Flyer with the right caveats in place.
the way Air Hogs said it on their website is that you aren't supposed to make big movements with the sticks but it is really a bad turning drone. I love the look of it but it is a bit annoying to get it to turn especially outside. it will definitely fly away from you and end up 40ft down the street if you aren't careful. also its very finicky with strafe adjustment. mine consistently wants to either go full force backwards or forwards. its definitely a huge learning curve.
To boldly go where no quadcopter has gone before. Shields up Captain? We need more Power Scottie! I'm giving her all she's got Captain! Hehehehe...good Vid ;-)

the crash sound is classic
Just got mine, indoor drafts caused by its own weight can make it little drifty toward the walls. Saucer is as oversized as a galaxy class, but flys nice. Powered off it acts as a lawn dart.

Was looking forward to your review if this item. Seems like this rc aircraft is very popular right now especially since it's available in well known retail stores. Have one but didn't fly it yet. Perhaps better for the kids while I fly more hobby grade models. Not a big fan of Air Hogs now the I've flown other, better performing RC Helis but this looks fun nonetheless and one of AHs better products. Oh a great review (best one) as always.

Definitely form over function. It look nice, but I like my quads to be good flyers.
Use your forward trim , I’m disappointed , mine works great
never flown any AHog that had a good yaw rate
Just going to take a wild guess, but I would say if you add some weight to the front, the back motors will get a bit of relief. They are having to compensate for the tail weight which leaves little room for more power.
I don't think that's the case, since the battery is in the nose of the model, which offsets the weight in the back.
Been a while since we've last seen the kitchen ;-) Does the clear stand with the Star Trek logo come with it, I would think that would definite plus for fans.

Honestly, I'm actually not very familiar with Star Trek (*ducks*) so I wasn't able to make any clever references. :( And, hahaha, I actually tried landing on that stand several times during my testing, and never once came class, so I didn't want to waste everyone's time trying it on video. Guess it could've still been fun to see me try once. Sorry!

No, unfortunately. Air Hogs doesn't have spare part support, and I don't know of any other brand props that would work with this.

Target reducing their prices on this. DID NOT do well at the asking price of $129 ! Sorry, as much as I am a Star Trek & drone fan - Air Hogs "quality" is not worth that price. I have seen these as low as $40 now. I returned mine when they were $64.
I would never pay more than a hundred dollars for any drone lacking even a camera mount... =p
And this thing lacks so much more... I'd maybe pay $40 for it but to be honest you can buy the FQ17W at $45 (or less) and I'd much rather fly that one than this clunky monster... XD

Bigger star wars fan than star trek, but this thing looked cool at the store, and when i saw it was on clearance for $40.00, how i could i resist, not having much luck outdoors, has a mind of its own? Afraid of losing it, any help/tips in flying, thanks...
Yeah, this is an indoor flyer, for sure, unless you have absolutely no wind. It has a hard enough time flying indoors. heh

It would be so much cooler if the saucer section contained a big coaxial rotor instead of 4 small ones.
You would only be able to rotate the vehicles left and right then. With the quadcopter blade formation, you can get full control in all directions as well as rotation.
Hypothetically, a small downwards facing propeller at the back could tilt it forward, allowing for forward flight. I'm sure you've seen this design on some RC helicopters.
I just bought this at target clearance for $38.88 I jumped on it.
And to think these started at $129! TOO high for AIRHOGS. They do come out with unique items but not worth their asking prices! TARGET also had Airhogs LARGER Millennium Falcon reduced to $149 from $300! Airhogs $80 Star Wars Xwing vs Death Star drones(bad reviews) are now being clearance - $50 at Walmart.
Yeah i want those too gotta snatch some up when the price is right.

Not much needed in experience to have the Death Star " hover". That was the biggest prob with this system as many other reviews commented. Amazon is also valid proof with 85 reviews- 2.5 stars. Walmart also confirmed they experienced a huge amount of returns. I'll stick with my Propel Star Wars X WING. I guess I got spoiled with that drone.
Amazon is the #1 *worst* place to go for RC reviews. It is a bunch of uninformed angry people that have no idea what to expect from RCs, especially quadcopters. I've seen 1 star reviews because "the drone didn't hover in place on its own like it's supposed to". Anyone that knows anything about non-GPS quads knows that it's not supposed to hover in place on its own. I greatly enjoy the X-Wing vs Death Star and see nothing wrong with it at all, unless you just don't know what to expect. But yes, the Propel Star Wars quads are much better flyers. But they are also $250 a piece. ;)

Dave Holt Crikey yeah ... I got a drone (JXD 510G) From Banggood ( might have been Geekbuying.com) , paid around 80 quid , then stung with a 30 quid import tax .. I wasn't happy but I was impatient as I was looking forward to flying it and I had waited so long for delivery . So basically I ended up paying double (ish) the price I could have paid elsewhere . Sticking to buying in the UK from now on , even though the prices here are ridiculously out of sync with the prices paid abroad . Thank you for your comment : Thumbs up :)

These are a different class of RCs. These are novelties, meant for fans. Very often scale models like this don't perform overly well, and aren't intended as traditional RC flyer, but more as nostalgia. And the price is because of the licensing fees they have to pay to be able to make these things. :)
Yep i agree with you 100% Ryan.....Take a look at the porsche im giving away....First time its been out of the box for 20 years and still runs like new..I was saying in my video how Rc stuff as changed over the years...
