Hi DemonDriver AKA Christopher here! I'm dedicating This Maiden Video of my Scratch-Built RC U.S.S. Enterprise to TREKKERS EVERYWHERE!! We have to stick together and Love The StarTrek Universe! This is the Refit Enterprise from the 1979 Star Trek Motion Picture! My Hand-Made enterprise is Fashioned from Super-lite Styrofoam and is mated to a medium Sized quad-copter, I Maidened her in slightly high wind 10-15mph and her saucer section caught the wind so she's tricky to fly at times.
If you have any questions Please ask, Enjoy the video! - Розваги
no, thank you. I'm part of the "star trek the motion picture" generation and your presentation was beautiful. brought back so many great memories.
My pleasure Gil, StarTrek 79 was a tad slow but it led to StarTrek Wrath Of Khan 82 and everything after that, sadly today's most of the under 20 Generation Have a .2 second attention span and CAN'T watch anything that dosen't have an explosion or Jaguar attack scene every 5 seconds. Plus the 1979 Re-fit Constitution class cruiser is a Beautiful Ship.
Dangerous having a red shirt do the launch
Ohh don't get me started about those poor Red-shirts. . . . They never get a break! Lmao!!!!
Lol yes they all sometimes ending up badly injury and dying off or kept coming back to normal 😃 again and again.
My arms hurt just watching the lady holding the trek. Nicely made.
lol, Don't worry Jeff this Enterprise I made only weights half a pound.
Excuse me, you said holding the "trek"? A trek is a journey, an adventure. How do you hold an adventure?
Holding up the Adventure ? Lol really ? Then that will be stopping the Star Ship Enterprise in Orbit around the earth from taking off to outer space !
@@derrickthompson4146 Oh I didn't see you there ! You said that Trek first adventures lol yes I agree with you.
If I could give this more thumbs up. I would. This is amazing!! I consider myself an original Star Trek fan and this is..........
I have made references on my channel to the ordinal series while rideing that I don't think anyone caught. Really, really cool!
john I'm VERY Grateful My Brother!
Have you seen the latest Starship From the new CBS Start Trek Discovery? U.S.S. Discovery LOOKS LIKE CRAAAAP! They just didn't care!
N-C-C-1-7-0-1. No bloody A - B - C - or D!
That's what the title says Mate!
+F3HDemonDriver i believe txlonghorn is making a refrence to a episode of next generation where they find scotty alive in the transporters pattern buffer
Right, correct! I remember that episode where Scotty Had the shuttle craft and was heading for a resort after retiring from Startfleet.
Great episode!
Star Ship Enterprise Next generation had beamed board Scotty next to an Unknown giant planet size space world trapping the Enterprise inside .
As a trekker, thank you for this dedication. Magnificent!
Andas I'm also a fellow trekker I thank you Scott!
AMAZING! This is so neat! I tell you, the Refit Enterprise is the best looking one out there!
Thankyou SIr!
Wow, she looks good......
Thankyou Sir!
More pictures the woman!!!!!
beam her to my Capt cher
She does look good. And the starship is not bad either!
Very nice job!!!
Wonderful! Upvoted, subscribed.
Very ingenious
Well done
+Dick Gibson Very kind of you to say that Sir! thankyou!
What a great presentation of a fascinating model, well done Demon Driver !
Cheers Mate!!! Thankyou!
Fascinating 🖖😀👍
OUTSTANDING!
Oh! She's a beauty, Captain, take my my word fer-it!
-me in a bad Scotty impression
Very cool Enterprise!
Thankyou David! :)
Great build. Fun video
+Robert Hatalla. I'm grateful Robert! All I have to do now is get the phaser banks & photon torpedo tubes working lol
That is Awesome 👍👍👍👍👍👍
To boldly go where no man has gone before.Nice model.Ray the Pilot,USAF,SAC,ret.
Very cool of you Ray! thankyou!
Fantastic
I love the music and pictures of the enterprise in this video all from the motion picture. I still rember going to see this in the theater in 1979. most of the pictures in this video of the Enterprise I have posters of from that time period broke my heart to see her destroyed in the Search for Spock in 1984
I had a similar experience Sir, I was 5 in 1979 and my Dad was a HUGE trekker and he took me to see Star trek the motion picture. . . . After the leaving drydock seen it was nap time for me lol. . . But I now have it on Blue Ray.
Thankyou Kindly Chris, from your friend Chris!
+RC DemonDriver you're very welcome Chris I look forward to the bigger one you're going to build I was 7 years old in Star Trek the motion picture came out I remember it. the model is wonderful. I have the air hoggs one. its ok. but you did the next best thing and you build one from scratch you should be very proud of the work you did it's very good sorry I did not get back to you sooner. from your friend Chris.
+RC DemonDriver chris.
I have to ask. do you who the sexy young lady is holding the ship you built.
she's dam cute.
+ncc1701chris yes yes yes
That was great!
Thankyou Xunit!
Just watched this on 3-26-19...in December of this year...it will be 40 years since I saw Star Trek: The Motion Picture with my parents. A lot has changed on this planet since then...but Star Trek is more important to me now...than ever. Very nice rc project. 'The Human adventure...is just beginning...'
Star trek the Motion picture was a solid-good film, a tad slow at times but better than the CRAAAAAAP they shovel down our throats today LOL.
Thankyou for watching!
That is just epic :-) Great job.
Thankyou good Sir!
Bravo!!
Way to go Chris.. Everyone's favorite starship.. The Enterprise.. I've seen r/c Enterprise before, but they were profile types cut for foam board.. Your's has body.. Well done... Hey, tell that pretty Lady you have to be carful.. You know what happens to Red Shirts... LoL..
+PatBALEX Pat My RC Brother! Thanks Buddy! I repect the work the Profile RC guys do! I simply wanted an enterprise that could hover like the real thing.
+PatBALEX Red Shirts Die so that Kirk, Spok & Mccoy can live LOL
lol so its a quadcopter ....nicely done. lloks really stable ..
Perfekt 👏🖖😀👍
That is just hilarious 😂
nicely done.
Thankyou Sir!
Not bad sir.. and beautiful model and beautiful lady to...
Simply amazing.
That's so cool. What it needs is a Klingon bird-of-prey. Dog fight.
Live long and prosper!
Fascinating...nothing more to say.
I'm VERY Grateful Roosbon! Thankyou!
I always love to see when someone is as much enthusiastic about STAR TREK like me. I'm a fan now for 43 years as the first episode was shown on german tv. Hope for a new series or movie to the 50th anniversary this year!
I love this. Very cool. Thanks for posting! BTW, I have tickets to meet William Shatner in about 4 weeks! I still have my tin Star Trek lunchbox from when I was a kid, and am going to ask him to sign it!
Commander Scott himself, would be honored by your fine piece of engineering. Well done ...... and Warp Speed !
I'm Mighty Grateful Bill! thankyou!
Well...There ya go.
Star Trek lives on...OUTSTANDING.
SEE YOU IN THE AIR.
Wayne
Great vid with amazing music. Wow.
Thankyou Sir, thats the 1979 motion picture soundtrack.
Quad copters are cool, but never really been into them, least not enough to purchase one. But I've been saving every bit of sturdy, light weight foam, Styrofoam and thin sheets of protective materials from amazon packages for the past 5 years in hopes of one day building an Enterprise. I had this vinyl soundtrack from the motion picture when I was a teen and always listened to it whenever building starships out of clay. Unfortunately some had suffered warp core breaches and special anomalies while in the kiln. My teacher decided to fire them separately to avoid collateral damage to other ships at the yard ;-) Some were a solid 5" thick, then I learned how to hollow them out :-D
two of my greatest passions in one!, toys and beautiful women!!.
My Passions as well Sir! Danke!
Absolutely beautiful Christopher!!! I want one!! lol
Thankyou Kindly Mike!
exellent!!!
I'm Grateful Gil! Thankyou!
Cool!
Awesome!
Thankyou Kindly Troy!
+RC DemonDriver very nice. great work.love it. as a fellow trekker and model builder I have to say good job. I have many models of the enterprise myself and I have made them as perfect as I can.
What trekker wouldn't be moved by this magnificent model. You have done a fantastic job! I would love to see it flying against a clear starry night sky...awesome!
Thankyou Sir! I'm very grateful!
No...I'M grateful for your skills in putting this together. I think you should approach one of the model companies and sell this idea to them. What Trekker wouldn't want their own RC Big E to fly? You'll make a packet, even after paying the royalties! Best wishes!
Nice work!!
Thankyou!
Well done . I like your Trekky Enterprise. Boy that one is a nice build.. Led's and strobe it to death for night flight. It wold look great with chasing Led's around the perimeter. I know it would not be like the true Enterprise but would be nice at a night flying meet. Love your 2 great models in one video!
+ne0ns1 Hi Neons! I'm always happy you watch my Vids Sir, and that you have GREAT ideas!
I plan on lighting her up For night flying But I'm gonna Build a HUGE 10 foot version with LEDs and Strobes Later this Year.
+F3HDemonDriver
Damn! Climb aboard and take a Trek.
I love the video!
Thankyou William!
So nice to know you brother! What a winner and always so suspenseful waiting on the next miraculous build.
Great job friend!
+Brad Smothers. Thankyou Kindly Brad! I hope all is well brother!
Excellent build & very nice video! You nailed the ships hull shapes brilliantly in foam. I was 10 when the Motion Picture came out and the Refit was a thing of awe and beauty. I also share your passions for airliners & Star Trek TOS & Movies. I wish I could build from scratch, but I don't even have a pinky's worth of your talent.
I'm a Trekker Like you and Proud of it, I Love most versions of the Starship Ent. I honestly never liked the Galaxy class from Startrek TNG, reminds me too much of a 1987 Ford Tarus LOL
Thankyou for the compliments Sir.
that is so cool///
Mighty Grateful Abraham!
I like your style!
+mrngwood Thankyou, I'd say I'm a Post Great-Expansion Kinda Trekker!
This is a Top Notch,Ultra Superb Build! Keep up the Superb Work!
Thankyou Sir!
No Problem. Keep up the Superb Work!
I just subscribed to your channel. live long and prosper.....V
Very Kind of you Chris! I subscribed to you as well! Set course to planet Vulcan at Warp factor 7 . . . Engage!
+RC DemonDriver see you there.
Awesome build
Awesome! You get a standing O for that one.
+Ollander Parker Ollander Sir, I'm Grateful!
Impressive
Thankyou Hugh!
Really well done! Keep making it so!
I will Capt. Terene!
Your lovely model reminded me of the Actress who Played Dr. Pulaski in STNG and when she was younger had a role( sorry can't) remember the actresses role or name at that time. Very cool!
She appeared in TOS as a love interest for Kirk.
sure looks ok but you need see thru propellers to make it better
I think it needs some propellers on the Warp Nacelles, maybe it could help with turning sharper? And maybe some kind of weapons fire ? Make a kilingon D7 and have a battle scene? Lol
Beam Me Up DD and Warp Speed!
Awesome!
+bobdaeronort Ahead Warp 1 . . . .Course Sir? . . . . .That away!
Thanks Bob!
+F3HDemonDriver -- Course..."second star to the right and straight on till morning." - Kirk to Zulu in WRATH OF KHAN.
+bobdaeronort Another Classic Bob!
You have Passion & you Care.
Gene is, PLEASED..
Thankyou John, I'm Grateful Sir!
+F3HDemonDriver Absolutely Beautiful. The Enterprise has a life of her own. Like Herbie or Chitty Bang Bang. I cried when in Search for Spock Kirk blew up our beloved ship. I thought that somehow in the last 2 seconds of the countdown he was going to stop the self destruct. Wish I had your talent and patience. Can't wait to see your 10 foot construct
that's just too cool. I think red dresses are safe. red shirts, different story
That's good to Know My Trekker Brother!
friggin genius
Thankyou Jack!
july 29 2019 impressive model i know you can fill the micro holes with carpenters glue or some sort of filler that wont disovle the styrofoam im impressed how you were able to shape lot of detail extra peices that look like thier made outta styrofoam to i know you can make that model fly get a radio controlled plane the attatch 4 4 foot strands of fishing line to the enterpsrise make a runway for the plane like a diving board about 10 foot long 10 feet off the ground star the plane the ent, hangs below the plane takes off then the ent does use dollar store lights with batteries an light the ent up... jeff star trek fan since i was 7 in 1966 canada
Thankyou Teri!, I'm currently making a much more Impressive Starship enterprise and hope to fly her at night in the future. Making anything from scratch ain't easy.
And Let's get Tlllicum Outdoor theater back!👍
That was and is absolutely amazing! Great work! Scotty would be proud :-)
Thankyou John! Scotty would say "she's a wee-bit wobbly in the wind Capt" LOL
Welcome Christopher. Lol That he would too :-D I was thinking Mr. Sulu might have had a couple Romulan Ales to calm the nerves ;-)
@@Silverado1st Actually Scotty had all of the Ale and beer and wine since he's a Scots.
@@richardscaggs5936 He he he and not that replicated garbage either :-) He restocked every chance he got while traveling back in time ;-)
You are one busy beaver!
I'm am indeed, but I'm more of an otter or badger lol
Thankyou Jeffrey!
😍😍😍
loving your sci-fi builds chief👍
+End of the Road RC Hey I love building & posting spaceship Vids between all the Airliner Maiden videos . . . .Its never good to only do one thing in RC.
+F3HDemonDriver couldn't agree more buddy, keep up the stellar work.
Great job Chris! Yet another awesome build by the masterful DemonDriver... I must have one of these! Will have to get with you later and place a special order lol. Would be great to see it with LED's and/or fiber optics lights incorporated, or even with a skin wrap. :-)
+jose Martinez. Thankyou Jose! Sounds great! I plan on building a huge 10 foot long version on this exact ship later this year.
Wow
NICE:)
Thankyou Sir!
Amazing job. You wouldn't think it would even fly considering a pair of props are so close to the body. Well done Sir, well done indeed.
+Route 66 Flyer. Your right Sir, but as long as the quadcopter ' s props have clear airflow it will work. The only real problem with this concept is any wind over 5mph. . . . Any high wind catches the saucer section of the Enterprise and want to flip her over. . .she would be perfect in a large gymnasium or Atlanta-dome arena lol
First thought when I saw this was all you'd need props for in any wind would be maneuvering as that saucer would provide plenty of lift. LOL
+Route 66 Flyer. without wind you'd be correct Sir.
good one
Thankyou my Friend!
+RC DemonDriver I look forward to the bigger one you say your going to build.
cool.
Cool of you to say! thankyou!
make the uss vengeance ;)
Great Idea Kane!
ye i know ;)
Nice! I have an engineering question --- was weight imbalance an issue to contend with? I would think some sort of ballast had to be placed in the shuttle bay to establish a flyable center of gravity? Even with the lightest weight material, I bet she was initially a little nose-heavy? And if the shuttle bay was chosen for ballast, how will you launch shuttles? 😉
And just be careful on a windy day! The large saucer section must be prone to wind gusts? If a sizable breeze got ahold of that saucer, well then...red alert!
Anyway, nicely done, and I hope she survives to complete her 5 year mission and beyond!
Good attempt. ;)
+ideamaker
Thankyou Sir, I try!
Have you heard of the new Star Trek Enterprise drone being manufactured? There are videos of it available here on UA-cam you might like. By the way, who is the lovely model in your video holding up your ship?
+ideamaker oh sigh, to see such a real cool Star Ship.model An a red skirt nice, warp dive rules
+ideamaker oh sigh, to see such a real cool Star Ship.model An a red skirt nice, warp dive rules
+ideamaker oh sigh, to see such a real cool Star Ship.model An a red skirt nice, warp dive rules
Wow that thing is cool! Now do the Bird Of Bray Kirk captured in that movie.
I did that with styrofoam huey on a bugs 3 with fpv . I still have it .
I’ve fanticised about building a large very light weight model with colored door screen mesh to cover thruster intake and exhaust ports on the saucer section and nacelles.
beautiful! what tools did u use to carve it? is it made of bead styrofoam?
I used sanding blocks, pads etc. . . I made her out of white packing style styrofoam Jamie!
Fantastic also the girl holding it was HOT 🔥
Next time, put the propulsion at the same location as the Impulse Engines. Believe it or not, it will fly in that configuration.
No I'm sorry to say it wont, only a "profile" aka flat RC Enterprise will fly that way.

_"For StarTrek fans we tested the USS Enterprise in our super-orbital expansion tube - X2. A scale model was placed in the test section and the facility used to generate a high speed gas flow of around 6.6 km/s. This was passed over the Enterprise for a duration of approximately 100 microseconds. We perform similar tests on other models investigating dissociation and ionisation processes which occur during atmospheric re-entry. (...) A more quantitative study of the flow was done using holographic interferometry. An interferogram yields a picture with light and dark bands called fringes. Bends in the fringes indicate a change in the density of the gas. The image shows diagonal lines coming from the front of the Enterprise - these are the bow shock waves. Shocks are also seen emanating from other points on the vehicle. A crucial design point is the avoidance of "shock-shock" interactions where one shock wave hits another directly in front of the body. If this were to occur there would be catastrophic consequences for these regions. The image shows that the designers certainly knew their stuff - at this speed, the bow shocks pass comfortably outside the other sections of the vehicle."_ - The Physics Department at the University of Queensland
The Enterprise was designed by Walter Matt Jeffries, a man who served in the U.S. Air Force in WWII and was also instrumental in designing the U.S. Navy's Master Command Center and modern Combat Information Centers. He worked with aircraft until his dying day. He designed Enterprise over the course of one-and-a-half years. He's not an idiot: if built properly, the Enterprise will certainly fly, and quite gracefully.
As for how: the Impulse Engines are supposed to be a vectored thrust system, the saucer acts as a lifting body and the nacelles/struts act as stabilization. The only difficulty is providing enough thrust. You can even configure the Enterprise into a functioning submarine with only a vectored thrust system.
if you could how you build the one for a done to fly around like you did. thanks
I do show you Sir, watch the video I have all the pics of me building it Bradley.
a tilt rotor quad would have helped as you would not have had to tilt the whole craft to go forward thus presenting a larger surface to the air. great job though and a great idea too. Live long and prosper!
Thankyou Carrboro! I like your "Tilt-rotor" Idea!
スタートレック エンタープライズ 実機みたいでかっこいいしandBIG!
友よありがとう \(^_^)/
The model holding the Enterprise, resembles Diana Muldaur who guest stared in the original series.
It would be cooler if the blades were transparent plastic so we couldn't see them, that goes double, for the X-Wings, Eagle Transporters and Viper RC models
I agree, But in the qaudcopter world clear plastic blades are almost non-existent.
As beautiful as she is, the Enterprise's shape is pretty incompatible with actual flight so I gotta give a big thumbs up to anybody who makes it work👍
I totally agree Richard, Thankyou!
Imagine it having impulse engines, lasers as phasers and actually 2 ships like that flying, one of yours and mine like Bird Of Prey and Fire All Phasers ,D
Most impressive! On the Klingon homeworld, we do not have such fine RC controlled vehicles! I wonder how the Air Hogs version that's coming out soon will compare??
No RC on Kronos! That Sucks! Thankyou for your comment! Kappla!
Warp Speed!!
+Luis Carlos Davila Reprieto. Warp 7. . . Engage!
very nice! Will you build a scale model of the Lockheed C5a Galaxy, with 4 EDF? this is one model I would love to have in my hangar!
+Jimmie Burnett Who Wouldn't Jimmie! I hope to someday Sir. Thankyou!
It's sad that so many of the cast of TOS are gone now....
I know . .but what they gave us will live and Prosper FOREVER!
I would like to see it at Joe Nall as well, really cool!
Carlos
+Carlos Costa The GREAT Carlos Costa! Joe Nall 2016 will Rock this year and its because of Great RC flyers like you! thankyou Sir!
You are very welcome sir!
At about 03:35 in this video:
*SAVE THE RED SHIRTS!*
😊😊😊
At about 06:07 in this video:
NICE Shatner impersonation...👍👍
I agree Sir, they are now an endangered species, the Lavender Shirts went extinct in 1997 LOL
Would have loved to see the classic fly over, but it flies pretty well, I guess the batteries are stored as far back as possible to balance out the saucer.
Thankyou! she really looks great in the air! Its Hard to fly her in any wind whatsoever, for the wind catches the saucer section, I'm gonna build a Huge 10-Foot Version later this year so stay tuned.
Correct on the Battery, the Batt was positioned in the Ent to Maintain her CG.
RC DemonDriver my jaw has just smashed through the ground. And now I taste Chinese food.
Thankyou my good man! My jaw once smashed through the ground and I tasted Viking food. . . . Go figure lol
Is that lady model holding the Star Ship Enterprise is a crewmen for the Star Trek Enterprise ?
This old Trekkie thinks she is beautiful :-) Nice to meet you, and you have a new subscriber.
I'm GRATEFUL to have your subscription Sir!
to me when you stop the video it looks like a real starship in our airspace.
Thankyou! I plan to build a much larger Enterpise soon.
+RC DemonDriver i vote we bild a real Star Ship in 20 years an warp to the moon, mars,an make it s space hotel for star trek cons in the futcure
