its from Kerbal space Program also ;)
I love this Idea of a RC USS Enterprise, thanks for the video!
"I'm giving her all she's got "!!
Only four particularly joyless klingons disliked this video. I can imagine the others grinning as they fly their new enterprises around.
"At last!" - Gorkon Kozak
"Suck it, kirk!" - Spock
"Suck it, Picard !" - Whorf
joyful klingons rock, joyless ones really suck.
It’s kind of a shame they didn’t make an RC TOS Enterprise or a RC TNG Enterprise
Just got one in today. I'm having a lot of fun with it but I've never flown drones so still trying to master flight with it. Any tips for us newbies on flying it?
This is what I would tell R/C heli pilots back in the day, it's based off of Radds school of rotary flight.
Work on nose out flight first. try to keep it hovering in a 5 by 5 by 5 square area. If it flies outside of that box land it and go pick it up and take off again as punishment for leaving the flight box. After you can hover nose out and stay in that flight box for a whole battery, try nose left, nose right, and than nose in flight.
Be patent while your brain re wires itself for nose in flight, it's strange to have the controls reversed when it is facing you and it takes practice to turn it into hard wiring.
The intro music is from Kerbal Space Program.
It's a royalty free song from Kevin Macleod, he makes some great tracks. I didn't know Kerbal space program used it.
2nd comment....:))) Nice video anyway...!!!
Not epic sound effects. The sound effects are from the original show and not the refit.
too bad that "new" star trek ended up being the super crazy wokefest that is Discovery. One of the most disappointing and horribly written Star Trek shows ever, featuring a female space Jesus that can do anything and everything, better than the Q.
"Captain, this colorful planet appears to be inhabited by a bunch of giants. They've been trying to reach up from the planet's surface to grab us, but Mr. Sulu has been keeping us out of range."
Wow, you make flying it look so easy. I'm have a hell of a time, lol.
Eh, give it a few weeks. Took me a while to get good at flying these things
Q)So how long does the charge really last for? 6min or 7 to 9 min everyone says something different? AND
Q) How many hours does it take to recharge the battery?
Great vid. I have the Air Hogs Millennium Falcon and love it. Guess I'll be getting this too.
I love the Falcon, it flies a little better than the Enterprise, but the sound effects aren't as cool.
love it! 😍😍😍
The unknown "tech"noise is the tribble sound.
Finally you uploaded :D
If they make one of Enterprise D, I'm all for it
they made one for Enterprise D about 5 years ago.
Question: I have a middle school near with a football/soccer/track field and stadium seats. What is the range? Could one sit in the middle and fly from one end to the other? (Good video. Thanks.)
AirHogs usually quads usually have about a 200 foot range so it might not make it all the way across the field, it would be worth testing though.
@R/C101
Q)so have you verified that it takes a good hour to recharge or you have found it takes longer to recharge the battery as you use it?
Q) so the charge only lasts 5 to 6 min or you have found it lasts longer since using it now? some reviewers thought it lasted like 7 to 9 minutes which would be awesome/even better.
Q) Is the saucer ring/shell also made of hard foam or it's made of plastic and just the bottom of the ship is hard foam for impact ?
Only the bottom of the ship and the nacelles are foam, the saucer is all strong plastic. Flight times average closer to 7 minutes and the charge time is a little over an hour.
Do you know when this aircraft will be available to buy - particularly in Europe?
I think it's only available at target stores exclusively at the moment.
How different is flying this from flying a standard RC helicopter? Any learning curve when moving to a quad copter?
If you can fly a helicopter than you will have no trouble with a quad rotor, they are actually naturally more stable, the AirHogs millennium Falcon is easier to fly than the enterprise, but both are designed for beginner and advanced pilots to be able to fly them.
ok thanks, i was pretty good at flying my old helicopter, the rotors got jammed and i have no clue what's jamming them, so i may as well get a new one (its some cheapo $40 chopper, 4 years old now)
Definitely time for an upgrade
After trimming the controls, does it hover pretty well? Or does it drift wildly?
Excellent review and UA-cam presentation! Loved the ending😄
I had a pretty good experience with mine being pretty stable and going pretty much where I wanted. I didn't really have to trim it but it could be a little wild and unstable at times sort of like the real Enterprise. If I tried to fly to quick or hard it would have trouble maintaining stability.
R/C 101 : Nice job! Truly appreciate the feedback. These will be worth something in the future.
Thx again.
Manny
I also vote for the emh from voyager.
Best star trek doctor ever.
I'm glad they used the constitution refit design. Too bad the nacelles are so short and they didn't use the Syma X51 tri-copter configuration to make it fly.
The quad copter configuration sort of fills out the inside of the saucer section when it's flying so it has its advantages. I did notice they had to shorten the nacelles a good bit to keep it balanced, you know someone in that board room wasn't happy.
R/C 101 Yeah I noticed the short nacelles too. Again check out how the Syma X51 tri-copter is laid out and imagine the Enterprise saucer section containing the two counter-rotating props and the rear 2 props on top of each (normal length) nacelle, with the lipo in the engineering hull. The two rear props would be exposed, but the proportions and balance would've been much better.
If they made it a little more powerful and gave it a slightly bigger battery they could have full scale nacelles, but the price would be way to high. I get what you're talking about with a tricopter, I personally think that a quad is a more stable design. It looks awesome in the air with no exposed rotors because it really helps sell the illusion of a spaceship. Exposed rotors that aren't part of the scale experience kill the look for me. It's also really good for the mass market. I think the flight characteristics are a lot better as a quad with 4 balance points as opposed to a tricopter with one balance point on the front, and two in the back.
I think this aircraft started life as a plain old round UFO, and than someone at AirHogs added the foam enterprise body and it was able to fly so they ran with the idea, but I don't know for sure.
Whomever it was that designed it, they did a really good job balancing the aircraft on a spot directly below the bridge. The battery is all the way forward and it completely balances out the foam back portion. It also looks really cool that the aircraft flies with the bridge as the center point like it does in the show. If the yaw center point was above the engineering section it would look a little odd when it spun around.
I think the short nacelles make it look kind of cute.
I'm curious. Did you fly inside McD's with permission?
Yes, they wear cool about it.
I have 1 of these problem is 1 of the props broke somehow
That's one that you may want to contact Air Hogs customer support about. I haven't been able to find just the props for sale online. They have phone support and email support
@@taoistflyer I have 2 of them & both had the same problem, the exact same prop broke on it, which is weird to me
@@gordonsnell6735 they only have 2 types of props. Each aircraft has 2 clockwise and 2 counter clockwise props The front right prop is the same as the back left prop so if you have 2 aircraft and each one has one broken prop you should still have one good prop on one aircraft that you can place on the other aircraft.
I just got one today....and can't believe I didn't brake one yet since I deliberately crashed it after it kept flying so high I was afraid of it falling onto someone's house, car or worse ......
where can I get one
You can buy it from target and online
for $120 it would be better if it was 1 to 1 on battery and flight plus had a camera.
The technology just isn't here yet for one to one with battery charge/flight.
You can get much faster charge times with a higher amp charger, it's just not good for the battery in the long run. A camera would be a little pointless on this one. This is just so that you can rock the enterprise in your living room like a craw Fu.
If my Google skills are correct a craw Fu is a Klingon pimp.
