Fire Emblem Fates but I'm restricted to blue

- I was recommended the dumbest challenge run idea and of course I chose to do it. A hard/classic run of Fates with only units of the same hair color, in this case it's blue. It was horrible.

You actually don’t need to keep Kana alive to recruit her. Completely unintuitively, Kana will join you no matter what once their paralogue is complete.
My life is a comedy of errors as I continue to expect games to have consistent rules.
Only slightly related, Nina playing the "unit death" music when you smack her in the paralogue, has probably tricked more than a few people into thinking they screwed up.
This is why Shiro died for me! Kana, easy! Shigure, easy! Kiragi, never had him die for me! But Shiro was the first, and only, one I lost, and I will never forget him for that.

I know it probably doesn't matter now, but in terms of the list at 0:45 , I would class Kaden and Selkie as blonde (there's no orange/ginger option so I'd say he's closer to blonde than brunette; Selkie always has blonde hair regardless of her mother) Keaton and Shura as white (if they marry Corrin then Kana will have white hair from both of them, implying Keaton is white with black patches) and Velouria in Grey (like Selkie, she has a predominant hair colour that doesn't change regardless of mother
i love silly challanges, my favorite one ive tried so far has been "sacred stoned but ONLY using characters who are smiling in their portraits"
Silly challenges are the best. Sure, I could probably do an ironman or smthn, but funny arbitrary rules are the best.

Missing the final 98% hit with Corrin is one thing, but remember that Fates uses Hybrid RN, where attacks above 50% has a slightly increased "true hit" chance, so a 98% hit in Fates is actually 99.94% accuracy!

@@twistedhyrule It's why replaying Echoes is such a strange feeling after playing the True/Hybrid games...
It feels like i have to completely rewire my brain every time i replay it, just to convince my brain that a 95% hit in Echoes is almost 5 times more likely to miss than what i'm used to from most other games in the series
Now that My Castle is gone, I just want to say that my longtime friend used the exact same Corrin look as you did.

had azura pass amaterasu to shigure. absentmindedly leveled azura up and she got another skill (i think luck plus 4?). still havent forgotten about it...could have had 3 amaterasu units of shigure showed up on the map in his own paralogue instead of just joining up after...

@@twistedhyrule i mean its a pretty obscure feature. most people dont try to intentionally kill off kana. i am NOT one of those people. hence why i know :)

Do you own any of the amiibo and considered using them for this (3/4 have blue hair)? Or if you used an emulator, is getting the amiibo characters possible? They would've helped I'm sure.
I do have the amiibo and I also had a unit logbook related backup plan of absolutely necessary. I simply enjoy seeing how much bs I can get away with.
i was thinking that you might have been able to expand your army a bit more with blue haired children. In Fates, the children's hair colour is based on the mother's hair colour so this means a blue-haired female corrin, Azura, Oboro, Perri, Beruka and Setsuna could have been paired off to produce children with blue-coloured hair.
Reina and Flora only have 1 S support with male Corrin so a blue haired Kana could also have been created later if you wanted that option.
I also liked the idea of Pronoun's army purging the red out of the vallites' purples in a blue revolution
Yeah, I could have optimal child unit recruitment. But I could also be committed to the bit and kill off everyone without blue hair (this is why I was only capable of obtaining Kana and Shigure).
I wonder how you would consider replicas in a challenge like this if you reclassed other units, since Reina and Setsuna both have Mechanist in their classlines and the replicas do have blue hair.
Replicas are absolutely usable in the run. I just didn’t think about it :P

Azura and Corrin are related??? And they let you romance her??? I know Corrin and Azura didn’t know that… but why write such a thing into your game 😭
To upset every Azura-lover (me) who married her in every path, made extra fun by this only being revealed at the end of the third/DLC path.
Hilariously, they retconned it in an art book, only to make it canon again in Heroes.
This has been the fire emblem revelation.

What happen to the other “Determinant” child units you could have gotten?
They can’t exist when their dads are dead (I legit killed off everyone who didn’t have blue hair so I’d never use them, meaning they couldn’t be married off for their kids).
Did not expect to find someone doing hair colour runs. A little disappointed you picked hard but I guess you had a greater restriction.

It is because of this video that I have decided to play through Awakening with only Red Haired units (plus Chrom but he just gets put in a corner every level)
Hell yeah!!! I know red heads were my first choice if I were to do a hair color run in Awakening.
