Same. Every time I play Awakening I end up reclassing more than half of my endgame units into either swordmaster or assassin and in some cases both (especially Panne with her REDONKULOus skill and speed while still being tankier than other units in case she does get hit). Even if I don't keep them in said class, Astra and Lethality alone are worth it.

Dodge build is pretty great. I didn't realize how nice Ferdinand is for it... but it has to have been a little for the meme, right?

Engage has the worst unit recruitment of any strategy jrpg I have ever played like sure you can make firene units work but have fun tormenting yourself pulling it off. Like I pray the next game they make dials the unit count back and focuses more on making units unique and fun over giving us an overabundance of them. I also hope for the love of God classes go back to being 2 path options there's no way I trust them to ever get flying to not be the most op thing even in engage where it's more balanced they still fucked up and made flying too meta I want infantry to actually be fun again.

Love the Brick Joke from the Women Only run involving Travis, absolutely great. It's always interesting to see the opposite in these kinds of runs, even if the run itself ends up not very interesting. Seeing the stark differences between women/men only is very interesting, especially with certain mechanics that were harder to botice when you had access to everyone or just one of the two (like the early men having lower magic defenses, or there being so few (conparatively) unique classes, or being so front/back loaded. I honestly had thought when speculating it that the lack of dedicated healers and flyers (at least for most of the game) would be... Well, any problem. Interesting run that adds context to the other locked run.

I still have not picked up this game... Which I know I should... But watching these videos makes me curious about the viability of doing a run with only 'named characters', so no hirelings to add to your roster

As a leftie, I usually tell people I'm Sinister, which is latin for left (right is Dexter, so dexterous people are righties) I then follow it up with an evil laugh, because I was born after lefties stopped being seen as evil, and I'm here to correct that.

One that might be fun is: 1 ap/pp only. By that I mean, no matter how much ap or how much pp a character has, they can only use 1 ap and 1 pp each combat. Of course this would be pretty easy in the early game when you already don't have extra, but as you promote, get pendants, get attacks that cost 2 gems, or even get attacks that add more gems, it gets harder and harder because the game expects you to use these more powerful combos (also it cuts out trinity rain + quick impetus, which is op)

Wow i assumed men only would be hard because there’s no traditional healers, but i didn’t think about the lack of variety early game for girls at all! Lots of the female classes are amazing but yeah, you can do a lot with male generics. Not to mention Alain and Gilbert are just as good as some of the female uniques!
