The best part of this video is showing how Nohrians are just Built DifferentlyTM -Dark Mages having some of the best early skills in the game and access to a game changer weapon in Nosferatu vs Diviners having really shitty base stats and having their biggest value being Rally support and pair up bots -Wolfskins retaining their usefulness on their base class as bulky fighters/pair up bots, making them easy to use vs Kitsunes needing a good partner/friendship class option to get out of the class ASAP and building weapon rank in the Weapon Rank Hell that is Birthright -Bows having much better stats than Yumis -Elise, Leo and Camilla all being significantly more impactful on gameplay than Sakura, Takumi and Hinoka on Conquest/Birthright (don’t have the experience to back this up when it comes to Revelation) -Blacksmith having virtually no reason to be considered in a more serious run vs Wyvern Lord being one of the best classes in this game and having a good chunk of units that want to pursue said class over their magical counterpart -Hero!Xander being so game changing that he gets a whole ass segment in Hero even if he can only get that class via friendship/marriage -Virgin Lances in Falcon Knight vs Chad Lances in Wyvern Lord All jokes aside, excellent video! The dynamic between the two of you flows really well and makes the 50 minutes go by really fast. Really hope we get to see more of you two :)
I’ll be honest of all of this, in my experience leo is worse in conquest than takumi in birthright. (As well as in revelations.) Fujin Yumi is so good, and takumi is really strong with it, so he can easily kill enemies upon recruitment, meanwhile leo struggles to kill on his recruitment chapter, even on hard difficulty. Not to mention that takumi isn’t effected by terrain movement penalties, and has two good options for his promotions.
@@samkeiser9776 yeah u are totally correct, Takumi is by far the best archer in the game, whilst I would struggle calling Leo one of the best mages. Elise and Camilla are def better than Hinoka and Sakura though
honestly some of these seen biased, Sakura and Elise are pretty munch equal(Sakura late game is better tho) Camilla Vs Hinoka is pretty munch what your up too,Hinoka is better late game anyways,And Takumi doesnt need as munch as investment when compared to Leo,also Falcon Knights are just so munch better srry😭(and yes i have revelations)
@@samkeiser9776 I always found Leo to be pretty straightforward to use. He’s a tanky unit with universal 1-2 range that hits on the almost always weak Resistance and excellent mobility. His introduction chapter, imo, show what he truly needs: Speed. He’s always one point short shy of ORKO the Archers/the Staff spamming Shrine Maidens, so something as free as Laslow’s Fancy Footwork helps him kill a lot of enemies there. From that point on, something like a Speed tonic and a pair up partner (Maid!Felicia is great for that) will let him keep doubling enemies consistently. He’s a great candidate for the Horse Spirit too, since he’ll always appreciate the extra bulk and speed (it’s not exclusive to him, obviously, but no reason not to pass it around between your mages). I do agree that Takumi is the best Archer in Birthright, but the thing is: I don’t think Birthright is a game that favors Archers at all. The enemies aren’t nearly as scary as Conquest’s are (fewer skills, simpler AI/map design, ability to grind for more DV/exp, not nearly as dodgy), so all you need there is universal 1-2 range and reasonable stats to make through combat. Battling the Ninjas in Ninja Village is great, especially with WTA, but Conquest has more places for Bow combat than Birthright imo. Another point against Archers is that Yumis have *horrible* accuracy, to the point where they might considering dropping Kinshi Knight in favor of Certain Blow. Takumi has the advantage of the Fujin Yumi having better stats, but others just get screwed completely and need to rely on forges and probably give up some levels in the amazing Kinshi Knight class for Certain Blow earlier.
@@uepa4986 Oooh, that’s a very nice comment. My points: 1-Onmyoji Sakura has two nice Rallies and a nice aura (Quiet Strength), while Strategist Elise has a mount and three auras (Inspiration + Demoiselle + Lily’s Poise). All of those things are nice, so yeah, they’re somewhat comparable in their base class and best promotion. When it comes to Heart Seal, though? It’s a whole other beast. Falcon Knight Sakura in Birthright is… fine? Flight and Darting Blow are good, but what makes Wyvern Rider Elise work is being able to use her improved Defense to put Lily’s Poise to action, get excellent partners/friendships to improve her hit rates (Arthur, Corrin and Odin mostly) and has excellent combat with the Bolt Axe and Tomes (Sakura’s 1-2 range options are far more limited, and 1-2 range in Birthright is super important). As for early game… they’re kinda comparable. Elise’s still better because of her horse and eventual Demoiselle, but Sakura’s 2 range aura is cool too. I’d say they’re pretty equal at the start, but the Heart Seal changes everything. 2-How is Hinoka better than Camilla? Camilla quite literally shapes Conquest around her and is probably the easiest bosskiller to build because of Trample + access to Axefaire via fast Beruka friendship. Hinoka flies and has some nice stats, sure, but pursuing Lancefaire requires a coveted Heart Seal and removes her flight capabilities. Her ability to perform 8 move Rescue is nice, I will say, but to say that she’s better than Camilla is a bit jarring. 3-The kind of investment Leo needs is in Speed, which is something that’s very cheap. Tonics only cost 150 gold, meals benefit the whole army and pair up partners who grant Speed are not that rare. Felicia is a wife that’s not a first choice for any other men in Conquest, but she can give Leo a good bump in Speed/Magic as a Maid and let him dip into Strategist after getting Vantage from Odin A+ rank. Dark Knight Nyx gives him great pair up bonuses too, while letting him get out of MoA and into a Magic class with a Partner Seal, while also not taking any wife too important for other characters. 4-Lances in Wyvern Lord give them more options to manage the weapon triangle and their lower might compared to Axes is made up by Strength +2 and better offensive stats. Falcon Knights don’t get any new way of fighting upon promotion (unlike Kinshi Knights) and the class doesn’t have very high Strength bases (aka the reason why Falcon Knight Selena is bad but Wyvern Lord Selena is great). The mounted staff utility is good for Rescue, I will give that to them, but their magic is not that impressive most of the time for other staves.
Yes Songstress is a must to any route. You really want to Azura spend some time Troubadour classes and maybe Kinshi Knight. Those classes grant Azura quite good skills that she can support allies without doing anything. Demoiselle (Troubadour) (Male allies within a 2 tile radius receive 2 less damage during battles) Free - 2 Damage to Males and yes can stack with Damage reduction skills or other Demoiselle and Gentilhomme. Inspiration (Strategist) (Allies within a 2 tile radius deal 2 extra damage and receive 2 less damage during battles) Allies take -2 Damage and do extra 2 damage (You can have your allies take less -4 Damage and your allies can do +2 damage) Amaterasu (Kinshi Knight) (Allies within a 2-tile radius recover 20% HP at the start of the user’s Turn) (This stacks with Azura's Personal Skill Healing Descant which means 2-Tile radius recover 30% ) (You can have your allies take less -4 Damage and your allies can do +2 damage and radius recover 30% HP at the start of the user’s Turn without doing anything.) Voice of Peace (Songstress) (Enemies within a 2 tile radius deal 2 less physical damage) (You can have your allies take less -6 Damage and your allies can do +2 damage and radius recover 30% HP at the start of the user’s Turn without doing anything.) Foreign Princess (Songstress) (“Foreign Army” units within 2 spaces deal -2 damage and receive +2 damage.) (You can have your allies take less -8 Damage and your allies can do +4 damage and radius recover 30% HP at the start of the user’s Turn without doing anything.) (And this is just without any support from other characters) With Camilla's personal skill Rose's Thorns (Adjacent allies deal 3 extra damage and receive 1 less damage), (You can have your allies take less -9 Damage and your allies can do +7 damage and radius recover 30% HP at the start of the user’s Turn without doing anything.) With Ellise's personal skill Lily's Poise (Adjacent allies deal 3 extra damage and receive 1 less damage), (You can have your allies take less -11 Damage and your allies can do +5 damage and radius recover 30% HP at the start of the user’s Turn without doing anything.) If we add skills to Ellise like Demoiselle (Troubadour) and Inspiration (Strategist) classes she has and does well. (You can have your allies take less -15 Damage and your allies can do +7 damage and radius recover 30% HP at the start of the user’s Turn without doing anything.)
I don’t really bother stacking that hard because voice of peace is a bit more annoying to make work than I’m willing but yeah demoiselle + inspiration + Lily’s poise / rose’s thorns is an early/midgame CQ classic
I always loved Nohr Noble but I never realized how good it really was. I just like tomes and it let me keep the Yato. My first time around my heart seal class was Mage so I had access to Dark Knight when I had gotten most of the skills for better mobility and not much downside. The power to activate ally's skills and lower enemy stats by 4 hits really hard. It's quite the power house option.
In my opinion adventurer vs bow knight is really down to what you want to do with niles, I like going adventurer like 12 or 13 and building staff rank and generally being easier to level up mid game becase if you use felicia 2 as a pair up on him or like nyx hes still orkoing with shining bow (I generally use felicia 2) and then once they are married I get pass get out and go to strategist for like a 9 move pass staffer
I don't think Hoshido Noble is completely useless, as Rescue is an E rank staff. With Dragon Ward, it allows for more aggressive play with frailer units. It's not game breaking or anything, but it is a nice option to have.
@@lagspike7763 Wouldn't surprise me much. I always joke that oni chieftains have such low skill that they would probably miss the broad side of a barn with a seeking weapon
If it makes you feel anything, Maid Elise is one of the main ways to have enough Staff hit to regularly neutralize the Maids and Great Masters in CQ Endgame with near 100% accuracy, which is obviously great for Ironman runs.
@@lagspike7763Yeah OP makes a good point, also try to use instrumental tracks because the lyrics may overcome the speech at some points ( for example, the Beneath the Mask soundtrack) Overall amazing video!
This is a fantastic video! I'm actually here because I needed to see what the sprites look like when animated, but the video was so much more funny and well-done than I expected! :D
This is such a great video! Thanks for taking the time to discuss the pros/cons of each class, and how they're situationally useful on specific characters. I'd love to see this on Awakening as well!
I’m so sorry to say this, but I am NOT the right guy to ask to make a video on awakening promotions. I just do not have the experience to do a full video on that. Idk, maybe I could get Topaz on board but I doubt it.
If you wanna build hard into crit, getting Friendship between Charlotte and Hinoka in Revelation can give Berserker access to Deathblow through Oni Chieftain. Throw in a great club and you're looking at ~90% crit rates.
Honestly I just took Beruka and put her into berserker in rev and she got like 70 crit rate. It helps that she has just far too much skill so her crit and hit aren’t horrible.
as a relative newcomer to fates discussion i must say that this is a very interesting vid. whats funny to me is that in most fe games the generalist mounted class tends to be better in games where enemies are easier like fe8 and lower difficulty awakening but fates is surprisingly kind to the more specialist classes even in birthright because of how badly you want wep ranks.will definitely consider these insights on my next fates run
I’m an Apothecary Azama stan in BR; his class change on joining becomes 26 HP, 15 Strength, 4 Magic, 8 Skill, 9 Speed, 10 Luck, 14 Defense and 5 Resistance. On average, Setsuna will have better Skill and Speed but Azama will have better HP, Strength, Luck and Defense; and Takumi’s bases and growths are a step above Setsuna’s but less significant than Azama’s. Most Yumis might be bad but forged Brass and Iron can carry before it’s even a problem (if Takumi joined with anything other than his Fujin Yumi, he’d be another terrible Archer). Friendship with Subaki gives Sky Knight and marrying Setsuna gives him Archer. Both have access to Kinshi Knight, so what I like to do is get Azama to level 20 through Apothecary, promote, then change to Kinshi Knight to get the Sky Knight and Archer skills and Kinshi Knight’s Air Supiority all within the first 5 levels of being in the class. You bring up being locked to 2 range is bad, but I can think of a few chapters where having 2 range is really helpful and pair up is probably more broken in this game than Awakening’s because you can guarantee strong Dual Strikes, so it’s not exactly hard for Azama to provide strong chip damage or route stragglers.
also would like to add that the flierspam chapter on the boat is pretty soon after he joins and just long enough that hell have gained some good levels and he's really useful there. Azama in general is just a really fun unit to play around with, I wish he joined sooner in rev or that there was a mod/rando that let you use br units in conq (if there is i dont know about it)
When I used to play the shit out of Fates when I was younger, I used to experiment with Heart/Marriage Seals to make stuff like Mechanist Takumi and Nohr Noble Ophelia
Fire Emblem findings and data about the games are so hard to find (reference Echoes: SoV LTC if u need convincing) so always glad to see public info :)
Yeah. Resources aren’t in short supply but what’s in short supply is places where they’ve bothered to properly take those resources, compile them and present it in a digestible way. That’s part of the reason why I picked fates, actually! Nobody makes fates videos that are this meta-based anymore, it’s a lot more gameplay focused if it even exists
This was a really great video! I'm more of a casual player but loves classic mode. I personally just uhhh, ransack peoples castles and buy a bunch of skill so I don't have to bother with reclassing, heart sealing and all of that and just make all of my units good as soon as I get them (currently doing a Hard/Classic Revelations run). This was still a very informative and entertaining video, really awesome!
@@ununun9995 First off you wanna have a lotta gold cause these skills are expensive lol. But you wanna go to your crystal ball and go to visit castles and select from the top three options "Recommendations, Recently Updated or Calling Cards (if you saved a person's castle)" And when you talk to the avatar of said castle you wanna make sure you Check the Strength of the person's units so you know what you want and then you want to battle in THEIR castle (with no handicap I believe) and beat them (or seize their throne). After you win you can either recruit one of their units or select a skill from one of their units. And basically just repeat that process with a bunch of castles and you'll have some broken units fast without the need of reclassing and such.
Alright, before watching this I wanted to try my hand at evaluating the classes/promotions in Fates and we'll see how I do. Just a brief summary for each along with a generic rating. Starting out with... Nohr Prince/Princess: Low tier. A very niche class since only Corrin and his offspring can utilize it. It has some decent skills and the promotions can be fun to build around, but the best Corrins will pursue different class lines. Nohr Noble is usually the superior choice since it has draconic hex, but it's heavily dependent on how Corrin is built. Cavalier: Top tier. Nothing too surprising here. Shelter, Elbow room, and Defender are all really good skills, high movement gives them a lot of flexibility, and good stats all around. Paladin over great knight in most scenarios, though Great Knight isn't without its perks. Mercenary: Mid-high tier. This one is a bit tricky for me. Certainly not the best classes around, but good enough utility to be sought after by very specific units. The hero class specifically isn't great for most units, but on Corrin, Xander, or any unit with a lot of investment it's a very effective late game class thanks to its balanced stats and no bonus damage weaknesses. Not to mention axe breaker. For less stellar units, bow knight is normally the better option since they can get in easy chip damage with a forged bronze/brass bow and will have higher movement. Dark Mage: High tier. Might be a bit of a stretch, but heart seeker alone can be a life saver and dark knight is arguably the best magic class overall (not including DLC). Sorcerer isn't a slouch either, both bow breaker and life taker are very helpful abilities. Wyvern rider: Top tier. Possibly the best class line. Malig Knight has great skills along with serving a niche for magic based units and Wyvern Lord has rally defense, Sword Breaker, and overall superior stats. Bows obviously limit them in certain instances, but their ability to fly is still quite dominant. Outlaw: Mid tier. Bow knights with +1 movement? Yes please. Adventurer is pretty good too, but outside of shining bow utility it isn't super impressive. Fighter: High tier. I already mentioned the hero class, but getting access to the +5 Hp skill alone is pretty great and gamble works a lot better on Heroes then berserkers. Berserkers themselves may even be better. Lots of powerful capture options, rally strength and pair up options for good support utility, and really good strength and speed for dishing out damage so long as you can work around their lower accuracy. Heck, with their high HP they can even be decent damage sponges when setup properly. Troubadour: High tier. High movement and good supporting abilities. Maid/Butler has a few niches and good availability, but Strategists are better overall. Knight: Low tier. Unless your name is benny, go for great knight over general as it's a pretty solid class with some good skills. But regardless, knights just aren't that great of a class overall and you almost never want to change someone into a knight or general. I would've put it a bit higher for great knight, but cavaliers can turn into those too and give better skills. Wolfskin: Mid tier. Keaton and Velouria are pretty decent combat units, but have little flexibility thanks to their limited weapon options. Certainly better off then their counterparts though. Kitsune: Low tier. Outside of having really good speed pair up bonuses, this class isn't very good. Kaden and Selkie are frailer and weaker than wolfskin and their niche of high resistance is made almost completely irrelevant due to better class options. Also worth noting that they're stuck with the regular beaststone for most of the game (especially in Rev), which is their worst weapon choice by far. Villager: Lowest Tier. Does anyone level this class up to level ten for promotion? If you're going to go out of your way to use Mozu, just reclass her to archer. Apothecary: Low tier. Mostly this low due to availability. If it was locked to less units, I'd put it in mid. Potent potion is actually a very nice skill and the merchant's ability to create gold bars can come in handy, though I'd recommend the mechanist for most units thanks to its better weapon choices and replicate. Ninja: Top tier. A class so good that they're still helpful when the unit has bad stats. Poison strike combined with hidden weapon debuffs make this class perfect for weakening enemies and their natural 1-2 range also makes them great for attack stancing off of stronger units to get the kill. Stronger Ninjas can go the extra mile of being good enemy phase combatants as well. Master Ninja is generally the preferred choice, but honestly you can make Mechanist work just as well if not better so long as you can make up for their lower speed. Replicate is also a great ability for any unit who you can afford to give it to. Oni Savage: Low-mid tier. A surprisingly rare and mediocre class line. The issues are less to do with the class itself and more so that it's limited to Rinkah, Hayato, and Hinata (Also Fuga). The first two need a lot of investment to get anywhere and Hinata is just meh. Blacksmith may take the prize of most unused promoted class in the game despite having lancebreaker. Additionally, the oni savage and chieftain also tend to have bad accuracy. The only thing that may lift the class up is decent pair up bonuses, and access to shove and deathblow, which can be pretty good skills. Spear Fighter: Mid tier. Really solid class line with access to seal defense for setting up kills. Nothing super special, but they get the job done. The spear master is the better option overall, but Basara's can work well (or even better) if the unit has some affinity for magic. Diviner: Mid tier. Not up to par with the dark mage, but the diviner can hold its own well enough. Birthright Orochi and Revelation Hayato are the primary users of this class and their preferred promotion choice is a bit situational. Basara greatly improves durability while Onmyojis are better support units. Monk: Mid tier. A healing class line with some decent skills and combat capabilities. Great Master is the superior promotion choice for most units as it has better stats and can even get good mileage out of the bolt naginata. Shrine Maiden (the female version of Monk): Low-Mid tier. Priestess isn't doesn't quite match up to the great master, especially since they don't have natural access to the shining bow in Birthright where both classes are most likely to be used. For Sakura in particular I would actually recommend Onmyoji over priestess, though not necessarily for Mitama. Sky Knight: High-Top tier: Between the ability to fly, use staves, and having rally speed Falcon Knights are easily one of the better classes, though more so for its support then its combat abilities. I would only consider promoting to Kinshi Knight if you are playing Revelation since attacking from range is a bit more important and there are more opportunities to snipe enemy fliers out of the sky. Archer: Low-Mid tier. Probably biased, but I feel that archers are pretty decent in this game. Certain blow can be a godsend for certain units/setups and quick draw is very nice to have. As fun as sniper is, Kinshi Knight will is actually the preferred promotion thanks to its ability to fly. And with that, I think I'm finally done! That took a bit longer than I anticipated... now to watch the video.
Okay, finished watching. Immediately realized I forgot to talk about the Samurai classes. Sigh. Anyway, great video! The only thing I semi disagreed with was the Hoshido Noble analysis. Yes, the staffs are pointless, but build wise strength Corrin can really excel in the Hoshido Noble as it has higher strength then most sword focused classes. But as I said in my first comment, the best Corrins will look elsewhere and it's not like Kana is usually accomplishing much in this class.
It's true that this has a better branching promotion than FE8, but Gerik probably has the most balanced options of any branched promotion. Hero has better stats and handaxe where Ranger has a whole bunch more utility.
I find that Effie makes a great flood gate. I shove her in a one tile pathway and shove Elise up right behind her and heal tank so I usually go general on her.
This is a Nohr ad isnt it Cav/Great Knight/Paladin Bow Knight Wyvern Lord/Malig Nohr Noble > Hoshido Noble Dark Mage/Sorc/Dark Knight Wolfskin/Wolfssegner I guess Hoshido has Kinshis and Master Ninja, but nothing else in Hoshido even compares lol
Fantastic Video!! I agree with nearly everything you guys said. I would disagree with Zoran that wary fighter has no use. I do agree that it's not required for ch 19 but for a slower unit like Benny who's primary function is to tank against a bunch of units having a skill that nullifies a follow up against mages that could potentially be in a mixed group of enemies increases his survivability tremendously. What I feel about knight class that's its an ok low investment class held back by awful availability. Units like Hinata ,Fuga and Subaki would do fine in that class since wary fighter fixes their frankly bad speed and you could save a speed backpack for someone more useful and it gives them a mounted option to heart seal later on if you feel inclined. But since Corrin is the only way to give a lot units that class which means there never gonna reap its benefits since Corrin has much better talents to chose from. On a side note: Oni Chieftan Hayato is awesome and that everyone should try out at least once since that little kid gets an absurd def boost + growth in conjuction with the horse spirit can make him feel unkillable in Birthright.
Honestly I'm a pretty big Knight supporter as-is. I value classes that have great ease of use very highly, and I feel like Knight is one of the easiest classes to use.
Currently running instant Oni Hayato on lunatic BR. Can confirm, he has 30 defense in chapter 23 and is basically immune to physical attacks. His daughter also has 27 on each stat, which is kind of hilarious.
I feel like it should be obvious that wary fighter is good considering how many conquest generals abuse it to be bulky, not to mention, the armor units in FE are infamous for being weak because they get doubled, but wary fighter makes that impossible.
I personally do not normally like the Oni Chieftan that much because of their low accuracy thanks to their horrible skill stat, but I actually prefer it for Hayato, since he gets solid offensive growths in both strength and magic in that class, and he's surprisingly bulky, naturally having 40% defense growth (which is equal to other tankier units in Birthright such as Azama and Oboro). Also, you don't get a lot of axe users in Birthright otherwise, and having a unit that can bonk enemies with a pike ruin club is pretty useful, which has honestly made him the exception to the rule, in my opinion
33:45 Explain to me how can Xander become Fighter, when he's already promoted? Once you promote a character an Advance Class in Fates, you can't unpromote them like you could in Awakening. So how will Xander get access to the +5 HP, when that skill was locked at Fighter, which is an unpromoted class.
In Fates, if you’re past the level of a skill you’ll unlock it automatically before your current skills. So if you have none of the fighter skills and you reclass into Berserker at level 4, instead of getting Rally strength at level 5, it’ll go Lvl 5: HP+5 Lvl 6: Gamble Lvl 7: Rally Strength
@lagspike7763 So you're saying that, even if Xander is Class Changed to Berserker, he'll still get the HP+5 skill regardless when he levels up? What about Hero? I can't imagine he'll get that skill when changing to that Class, right?
Shit man, I was hoping for some advice on the best base class to start Corrin off in for growths. I know its still the prince class technically, but I always go samurai or mercenary especially considering child options. Any opinions you can share?
In CQ go wyvern rider +str or +Spd (+str is better overall but +Spd is more convenient) In br if you want a guaranteed win strat go general Rev also I’d say wyvern, but maybe go magical wyvern. If you want more advice check out my Quickies sefies
@@lagspike7763 sure man I appreciate it. Tbh for this game I'm a grinder kinda player, so I like making gunna skill combos. The BR run I'm doing rn I went skill boon, res bane, and did mercenary for my talent. I plan on marrying ryoma or Hinata, and running hoshidan unity, sol, Luna, dragon fang, and Astra. I call it the Hoshidan astral Aether fang. For the memes bro. I will def check out your shorts. Always dig more advice
The only reason I changed Azura's class was when I used the Witch talisman for Warp and changing her back afterwards. Warp is so nice since it means she doesn't have to play catch up to faster units or be carried around like a bag. Edit: For those unknowing: Witch Talisman is a dlc item.
I actually think there is a good argument to make for selena promoting to hero over bow knight, and thats if you want to friendship seal her into a wyvern rider. going hero to pick up sol and grind some axe ranks before shifting to wyvern can be a decent play, depending on your scheduling for ranking up friendships.
I will not deny that you've made several interesting and fair points regarding classing options. But I don't really care much for it since I am the type of player who likes to give characters their "canon" class promotions and just throw on different skills to improve their power. Thank god for Aptitude being available from visiting other people's castles.
Then how could a video like this ever help you? You will just promote units into the class you see as canon. Therefore nothing in this video could help you, and I do not know what you expected from it.
Where do you think the free dlc-Witch Mark and Spotting Glass- fits in the whole thing? I personally think Mark is superior to Glass overall but both have their really good applications. I almost always use my mark on Nyx because it turns her into even more of a glass cannon than she was previously with the insane mobility that the class provides. I believe it offers one of the highest magic nukes in the game if your stats roll well. But then again, Nyx is already one of the best magic nukes in the game to begin with. Otherwise, I just find it really weird that you get a bulky bow tank(?) with Glass. Bows are already not supposed to be a constant pressure on the front line and really are supposed to safely hide just behind your actual tanks but this gives you not only a portable ballista that gets crazy at higher levels (even if it lacks decent range) but some decent bulk to stay in the front line for a turn or so. It just doesn’t make sense for me seeing as until the late game where the starts becoming viable, you have access to much better tank options and it’s still only mediocre at best. I don’t know, just feels weird and unreasonable without access to a sidelong Yumi (which is only available in the Birthright route if I remember correctly) and even then there are still a lot better options. The artillery support is really helpful when enemies get clumped up and that’s about it because even that has friendly fire which can be very detrimental if you have brawly, slow units or you have to commit to a push by starting it with a shot. I don’t know. Maybe I’m not thinking of the right things in this position but it just seems not very worth it.
Do any of Corrin's second kids actually benefit from staying in the noble classes over their other options? I love the novelty of having, like, dragonstone Ophelia for instance haha
I think the noble classes are kinda situational. Like draconic hex is kinda useful especially for late game rev. But for lets say ophelia id just use the dragonstone for the defensive buffs it can give but at that point you can just have her utilize other things better like vantage sorceror + vengeance. But your better off passing down the 1/2 noble skills youd want on the second child and letting it be that.
I’m currently doing a heart seal run and immediately reclassify units soon as I get them, it’s been lot of fun but I’ve been so broke bc I’m using all my gold for the seals, gotta just depend on the items given
Man I wish I could make good fe content. Theres still so much love for the series. I think in these games the class you want is very dependent on the characters, but like if we would do a "what if corrin went class x or y" im gonna go with beserker. My recent conquest run was a great success because I could just oneshot ninjas with handaxes while having a good amount of speed and health to be able to frontline stuff, especially with draconic hex. Only thing is that it gets eaten alive by anything magic..
I sealed Mozu into an Archer and made her a Kinshi Knight and holy shit I made a fucking demon, she takes on archers right in front of her, her speed gets her hardly hit, and she doubles pretty much every enemy, I recommend it 10/10
Hey, random question about skills, since I can't find an answer elsewhere. If you, for example, take Corrin from Hoshidan/Nohr Noble, and swap them into Swordmaster, will they get the unpromoted Samurai skills? Asking because I'm planning on either going into Nohr Noble, then Swordmaster, or just swapping into Samurai, depending on if I have to actually be a Samurai to get those skills.
That's actually true, a promoted unit will learn skills from that classes base version if they hadn't already in the first 2 level ups they recieve. This also goes for a class that can promote from 2 different classes, for example: if you have Effie S support Silas or Xander for the cavalier line and have her promote into a great knight, she will learn the cavaliers skills on her first 2 levels even without spending any time in the class itself
I disagree that bows are better than yumi in a vacuum. 1 Might for 10 hit is a trade people seem to think is very worth it with axes versus lances. And bow classes tend to have more tools to compensate for low hitrate with hitrate boosting skills and generally much higher skill. I absolutely agree that bows in conquest are better than yumi in birthright, but from a statistical perspective and in Rev I have honestly found yumi to be generally more useful.
Yumi would definitely be better for units with easy access to Archer and thus Certain Blow. It’s mainly the Apothecaries and Outlaws that want Bows over Yumi since those classes don’t offer as much Skill or Hit bonuses in general.
I made my Mitama a Malig Knight in my recent birthright classic lunatic run Since she S ranked with Kana and haha funny partner seal go brr. I did not realize the power of malig knight Mitama she straight up kicks ASS I could arguably say that that Mitama is better then any Camilla, straight up kills with like 22 STR, 20 mag, 23 SPD. At Malig Knight level 1 Hard carried most of the run tbh
Old video, but i just wanted to chat about what i enjoy as a nit so meta option, but i really like it nonetheless. Astra Sniper. Mozu!Hisame with Kiragi A+ support got me a really funny machine gun. In revelations specifically, i give him the crescent bow or a killer bow and just watch him delete priority targets while still providing attack stance pair ups for melee units.
Is there a recommendation on what level to promote in fates? I have an idea in other FE games but in this one I’m not sure. Should you wait until 20, promote earlier if you can, or wait until a certain chapter?
Early promo is a scam unless you’re early prompting a unit to be a backpack (Charlotte Keaton Arthur) or early promoting to use a unit early and bench them later (Odin, Laslow, Selena). Other than that, I usually promote Corrin after chapter 15 and most other units at lvl 17 at the latest.
I am a stubborn person but for a oboro!Caeldori between spear master and Falco knight because class preferences which would you recommend for revelation? Wouldnt be there for awhile because picking up LND but useful info for gen 2 focused run
For Effie, I like Kinshi Knight and it goes off her existing Lance rank, but I also like swinging by Sniper to pick up Certain Blow and then Partner Sealing to Berserker. Idk if it's worth delaying the Percy paralogue until he can inherit Certain Blow though (probably not). Thoughts?
never thought about hero xander currently playing through lunatic for the first time might unironically put him into hero give him my two boots and make him an enemy phase beast
Maybe someone can help me answer this question. If Corrin had apothecary as they secondary class and they married someone with the apothecary class, what would the spouse become when reclassed with the Partner Seal?
WE MADE IT TO 500 SUBS! Thank every single one of you so much. Even if you haven't subscribed, your views, comments, and likes have fueled my willingness to keep going on this wild ride, and I"m so happy to reach this milestone.

;b 😢😢😮😊😊😊😊
This is insane to me that people are discussing fates in such depth still. Awesome
It’s an evergreen game
Fates is great when you just ignore the story.
It makes me happy as someone who's just getting deep into it for the first time.
I love this game
This is great, these graphis are really useful at a glance man. You and Zoran are a great duo as always.
It took me so long to line the graphics up holy shit
The best part of this video is showing how Nohrians are just Built DifferentlyTM
-Dark Mages having some of the best early skills in the game and access to a game changer weapon in Nosferatu vs Diviners having really shitty base stats and having their biggest value being Rally support and pair up bots
-Wolfskins retaining their usefulness on their base class as bulky fighters/pair up bots, making them easy to use vs Kitsunes needing a good partner/friendship class option to get out of the class ASAP and building weapon rank in the Weapon Rank Hell that is Birthright
-Bows having much better stats than Yumis
-Elise, Leo and Camilla all being significantly more impactful on gameplay than Sakura, Takumi and Hinoka on Conquest/Birthright (don’t have the experience to back this up when it comes to Revelation)
-Blacksmith having virtually no reason to be considered in a more serious run vs Wyvern Lord being one of the best classes in this game and having a good chunk of units that want to pursue said class over their magical counterpart
-Hero!Xander being so game changing that he gets a whole ass segment in Hero even if he can only get that class via friendship/marriage
-Virgin Lances in Falcon Knight vs Chad Lances in Wyvern Lord
All jokes aside, excellent video!
My points:
1-Onmyoji Sakura has two nice Rallies and a nice aura (Quiet Strength), while Strategist Elise has a mount and three auras (Inspiration + Demoiselle + Lily’s Poise).
Inspiration (Strategist) (Allies within a 2 tile radius deal 2 extra damage and receive 2 less damage during battles) Allies take -2 Damage and do extra 2 damage (You can have your allies take less -4 Damage and your allies can do +2 damage)
Amaterasu (Kinshi Knight) (Allies within a 2-tile radius recover 20% HP at the start of the user’s Turn) (This stacks with Azura's Personal Skill Healing Descant which means 2-Tile radius recover 30% ) (You can have your allies take less -4 Damage and your allies can do +2 damage and radius recover 30% HP at the start of the user’s Turn without doing anything.)
Voice of Peace (Songstress) (Enemies within a 2 tile radius deal 2 less physical damage) (You can have your allies take less -6 Damage and your allies can do +2 damage and radius recover 30% HP at the start of the user’s Turn without doing anything.)
Foreign Princess (Songstress) (“Foreign Army” units within 2 spaces deal -2 damage and receive +2 damage.) (You can have your allies take less -8 Damage and your allies can do +4 damage and radius recover 30% HP at the start of the user’s Turn without doing anything.) (And this is just without any support from other characters)
With Camilla's personal skill Rose's Thorns (Adjacent allies deal 3 extra damage and receive 1 less damage), (You can have your allies take less -9 Damage and your allies can do +7 damage and radius recover 30% HP at the start of the user’s Turn without doing anything.)
With Ellise's personal skill Lily's Poise (Adjacent allies deal 3 extra damage and receive 1 less damage),
(You can have your allies take less -11 Damage and your allies can do +5 damage and radius recover 30% HP at the start of the user’s Turn without doing anything.)
If we add skills to Ellise like Demoiselle (Troubadour) and Inspiration (Strategist) classes she has and does well.

It’s not bad but the acc leaves quite a bit to be desired
I always like when Zoran talks about Conquest, cause he really know how to go througt it, he is a literally god
Facts
One point towards General in BR is that there aren’t any Armor effective enemies in Birthright.
Actually there is but they appear randomly in any sword class grind maps.
I don't think Hoshido Noble is completely useless, as Rescue is an E rank staff. With Dragon Ward, it allows for more aggressive play with frailer units. It's not game breaking or anything, but it is a nice option to have.
That’s actually a neat combo
I did maid Elise once.
could not tell you why I thought it was a good idea, but I did it.
Still probably had better hit than oni elise
@@lagspike7763 Wouldn't surprise me much. I always joke that oni chieftains have such low skill that they would probably miss the broad side of a barn with a seeking weapon
If it makes you feel anything, Maid Elise is one of the main ways to have enough Staff hit to regularly neutralize the Maids and Great Masters in CQ Endgame with near 100% accuracy, which is obviously great for Ironman runs.
Ooh yay. More Fates deep dives.
I'd suggest normalizing peaks to -24 to -28 dB in the future. Music is comparatively a little loud.

Your Fates content is really great and definitely something I wish I had back in 2015 lol. Love the videos with you and Zoran
Two cool FE content creators collaborating for Fates’ breakdowns? Great way to wind down after work
I’m an Apothecary Azama stan in BR; his class change on joining becomes 26 HP, 15 Strength, 4 Magic, 8 Skill, 9 Speed, 10 Luck, 14 Defense and 5 Resistance.
Azama in general is just a really fun unit to play around with, I wish he joined sooner in rev or that there was a mod/rando that let you use br units in conq (if there is i dont know about it)
@@xTxCxMx there is a mod that swaps conquest's cast with birthright's I believe

Fire Emblem findings and data about the games are so hard to find (reference Echoes: SoV LTC if u need convincing) so always glad to see public info :)
Yeah. Resources aren’t in short supply but what’s in short supply is places where they’ve bothered to properly take those resources, compile them and present it in a digestible way. That’s part of the reason why I picked fates, actually! Nobody makes fates videos that are this meta-based anymore, it’s a lot more gameplay focused if it even exists
I suck at fates but this video got me excited to try conquest once again.
You have my sub, keep it up!
Thanks so much for all the effort you put into this!
This was still a very informative and entertaining video, really awesome!
how do you buy skills?

The madman actually did it
Thank you, this will be real helpful in the Lunatic Ironman I'm starting soon
It's true that this has a better branching promotion than FE8, but Gerik probably has the most balanced options of any branched promotion. Hero has better stats and handaxe where Ranger has a whole bunch more utility.
But Gerik lacks the proper CON to wield axes. Ranger is better
Best Fates duo returns!
Thanks! Will definitely be useful when I spontaneously start my next fates playthrough
I find that Effie makes a great flood gate. I shove her in a one tile pathway and shove Elise up right behind her and heal tank so I usually go general on her.

I hope you do a video like this for Awakening too, this is great!
God I love fire emblem fates, awesome video!!!!
A 50 minute video about a game I can’t play? Sign me up!
Not the powerpoint presentation 😭😭
Great video though learned some new things
You want me to learn how to make animations or something??? You ask too much
Fire Emblem Fates academy
33:45 Explain to me how can Xander become Fighter, when he's already promoted? Once you promote a character an Advance Class in Fates, you can't unpromote them like you could in Awakening. So how will Xander get access to the +5 HP, when that skill was locked at Fighter, which is an unpromoted class.
In Fates, if you’re past the level of a skill you’ll unlock it automatically before your current skills. So if you have none of the fighter skills and you reclass into Berserker at level 4, instead of getting Rally strength at level 5, it’ll go
Lvl 5: HP+5
Lvl 6: Gamble
Lvl 7: Rally Strength
@lagspike7763 So you're saying that, even if Xander is Class Changed to Berserker, he'll still get the HP+5 skill regardless when he levels up? What about Hero? I can't imagine he'll get that skill when changing to that Class, right?
@@xenoemblem8422 why wouldn’t he? He’s getting hero off of fighter and fighters lvl 1 skill is hp+5
@lagspike7763 I was confused by the gameplay on how to get that specific skill is all.
50 minute ASMR, huge win
Just started my lunatic no royals run of conquest, TY!
Shit man, I was hoping for some advice on the best base class to start Corrin off in for growths. I know its still the prince class technically, but I always go samurai or mercenary especially considering child options. Any opinions you can share?
In CQ go wyvern rider +str or +Spd (+str is better overall but +Spd is more convenient)
In br if you want a guaranteed win strat go general
Rev also I’d say wyvern, but maybe go magical wyvern.
Character tier list wen? Seriously though, glad to see Fates content in 2022
I did a character guide
Thnx, I was wondering that the Kinshi knight was. Now I remember I promoted her to that because she’s my fav
This wqs actually a really good video, and I'd like to see more of this type of stuff
Pump that Fates content into my VEINS
The only reason I changed Azura's class was when I used the Witch talisman for Warp and changing her back afterwards. Warp is so nice since it means she doesn't have to play catch up to faster units or be carried around like a bag.
Edit: For those unknowing: Witch Talisman is a dlc item.
I actually think there is a good argument to make for selena promoting to hero over bow knight, and thats if you want to friendship seal her into a wyvern rider. going hero to pick up sol and grind some axe ranks before shifting to wyvern can be a decent play, depending on your scheduling for ranking up friendships.
My other favorite games are Crusader Kings. I just love torturing myself with swords & math.
The song you listed as Ametrine Mountain from Pokemon Reborn was originally GlitchxCity's Pokeball Factory Remix
Well I’ll keep that in mind for next time. Thank you!
I will not deny that you've made several interesting and fair points regarding classing options.
But I don't really care much for it since I am the type of player who likes to give characters their "canon" class promotions and just throw on different skills to improve their power. Thank god for Aptitude being available from visiting other people's castles.
I mean that’s fine too. This video isn’t about reclassing heavily it’s about which promotion path to pick IN your base class
I wish I could go Butler Effie and Maid Odin. That's all.
Thanks a lot, it is really troublesome for me to know who i should class into what/advance. Thank you :}
I’m currently doing a heart seal run and immediately reclassify units soon as I get them, it’s been lot of fun but I’ve been so broke bc I’m using all my gold for the seals, gotta just depend on the items given
Man I wish I could make good fe content.
Man i miss the days where Fire Emblem used sprites in overworld
Kinshi Knight Mozu is some of the most fun I've had in fire emblem
Awesome video but the knights correct class skills are not actually in the description lol
Ok they're in a comment sorry
I sealed Mozu into an Archer and made her a Kinshi Knight and holy shit I made a fucking demon, she takes on archers right in front of her, her speed gets her hardly hit, and she doubles pretty much every enemy, I recommend it 10/10
Bowzu good
awesome stuff
ya know, i never see these kinda things on FE fates and all the opinions made me realize. i do a lotta goofy builds for this game
Kitsune and Nine-tails are classes that allegedly exist (:
I'll just put it this way. You don't know what a true struggle is like until you've had to use Yumis on an apothecary in BR.
I made my Mitama a Malig Knight in my recent birthright classic lunatic run
Since she S ranked with Kana and haha funny partner seal go brr.
I did not realize the power of malig knight Mitama
she straight up kicks ASS
I could arguably say that that Mitama is better then any Camilla, straight up kills with like 22 STR, 20 mag, 23 SPD. At Malig Knight level 1
Hard carried most of the run tbh
Wish there were time stamps for each class, would make it easier to watch
I KNEW I forgot something
Also I hope you enjoyed the king crimson cut it took like an hour to time properly
here me out, jakob but in maid suit, now that's the coolest
Not gonna hold u I've never used Azama as anything but a Dread Fighter lmao
Old video, but i just wanted to chat about what i enjoy as a nit so meta option, but i really like it nonetheless. Astra Sniper. Mozu!Hisame with Kiragi A+ support got me a really funny machine gun. In revelations specifically, i give him the crescent bow or a killer bow and just watch him delete priority targets while still providing attack stance pair ups for melee units.
Wary fighter is heralded as one of the most godly skills in Fates on most places I saw
i tried berserker 100% crit great club odin in rev and it was so much fun
As a proud wyvern lord xander user, he good with beastkiller
This reminds me of my school presentation
For offensive unit*
I made her a bow knight from selena and made her a kinshi knight
Maybe it's just me, but E staves (Hoshidan Noble) seems more useful than E tomes (Nohr Noble)
You can have a nice 8k fire tome at e tomes
A forged Fire tome has way more use in CQ than a Bloom Festal does in BR.
Thoughts?
You forgot to put the knight skill descriptions in the description
It's in a comment, yeah, but I fixed it.
never thought about hero xander currently playing through lunatic for the first time might unironically put him into hero give him my two boots and make him an enemy phase beast
Keaton was a top 5 unit in my first lunatic run
Would appreciate another video for DLC classes like Lodestar, etc. :)
I didn’t even know that blacksmith was a class in fates.
Maybe someone can help me answer this question. If Corrin had apothecary as they secondary class and they married someone with the apothecary class, what would the spouse become when reclassed with the Partner Seal?
I have no idea
@@lagspike7763 guess ill play the game again and find out
