    Heads-up for anyone looking at the FlowFX exhaust, don't do it. The Super40 sounds ten times better and has zero drone!

      How did you get the Super 40 as a dual rear exit? I can't find any cat back systems for the Super 40, just the muffler.

      I had a local muffler shop weld it on.

      Do you still have the stock resonator on your zr2 with the super 40?

      Neither of these sound shitty. Toyota’s just don’t sound that good... flowfx sounds great on larger engines and I think bore size has a huge impact on the flowfx. Anything smaller than a 3.8 sounds super ricey but the Toyota’s sound terrible, it’s probably just their cats and engine size though. V8s sound mean with a flowfx too.

    Both of 'em sound weak asf!!! They should make a V8 version

      I would agree that Chevy should have put an LS in the ZR2 models.

    Thank you for that very comprehensive exhaust comparison! It's not often we get to hear different exhausts on the same vehicle to compare

    I would love to hear a comparison vs. a Gibson cat back. And what about power, any noticeable difference?

    • @PowerSports
      @PowerSports  5 років тому

      You wouldn't notice any power differences without re-tuning the engine.

    Tbh the super 40 is just louder and less refined sounding. I don't think either of them sound good. I think your biggest problem is that you want a V8, specifically a pushrod V8, sound and no muffler will get that from any V6

    • @PowerSports
      @PowerSports  5 років тому +3

      I would argue the FlowFX is much worse than the Super 40. Are you listening to the video with a decent set of speakers / or a decent set of headphones? Phone speaker isn't gonna reproduce bass tones. ... I am not expecting a V8 sound, I am well aware this is a small V6 engine. My last V6 vehicle sounded 10x better than this truck. The primary problem is the giant catalytic converters shoved into the manifolds. All she needs are some shorty headers, and she'll sound great! But ain't no way in hell am I going to void my warranty by doing that, lol. ^_^

    So this is a custom cat back with a super 40 muffler? It sounds great! I’ve got a 2021 ZR2 and nothing sounds great. What diameter tubing did you use and what part number super 40? I’d love to copy this setup.

      I actually took the FlowFX catback system, and had a local shop modify it, and weld-in the Super40 muffler. ua-cam.com/video/a_BOPMkv0oE/v-deo.html

    I have a 2020 Colorado and got a Super 10 Dual exhaust put on. I don't care for the sound. Sounds ricey at times. Need recommendations. Thinking of going Super 40 but should I keep the dual exhaust and just exchange the muffler to the Super 40? Or go single exhaust? Thanks

      Try a "Super 50" maybe? Whichever one you get, make sure it has "Delta Flow" design.

  • @905canadianmuscle6

    I barley hear a difference in the exhaust system. But again it’s a v6 they never really sound that good. It needs a 5.3l or a 6.2l. And if it could have them, then manifolds because the manifold is built into the block and all you have are tubes and cats to the system which sucks

    • @PowerSports
      @PowerSports  4 роки тому

      You really have to be inside the truck to realize how bad the FlowFx really is. I couldn't stand it at all. So much drone I wanted to cut my ears off. ... You are the second person to say something about integrated manifolds, i thought this was the same motor as the Camaro V6???

    • @905canadianmuscle6
      @905canadianmuscle6 4 роки тому

      PowerSports the 15-16 is the same motor as the camaro v6 but they have different heads like the caddy ats because the ats-v has turbos bolted directly to the block. Mine is an LFX 3.6l and I bought the system because it’s Black Friday and also it’s my first system ever and I think I’ll be able to deal with the drone. If I don’t like it I have a 365 day return policy but I did watch the video. I wanted something loud for when I floor it and quiet for cruising. After all it’s a daily for me

    Just purchased a 2021 Colorado ZR2. My 19 had the GM performance exhaust. I knew I wasted that $$$. Are you simply saying that I can swap out this muffler (super 40) and it'll be a couple hundred dollar option that blows the GM stuff away? Thanks for posting this!

      Appreciate the insight... also.. I have to ask since you seem a lot like me and would notice. Do you have issues with suspension noises.... going over bumps and stuff... my 19 sounded terrible. The 21 already is starting to make a few noises making me think more are coming like my 19. Thanks man!

    • @PowerSports
      @PowerSports  3 роки тому

      They've had issues with the grease on the rear shock eyelets getting washed-out by offroading or carwashes or whatever, and then the truck starts making odd noises in the rear suspension. Mine had an occasional noise, but i was unable to pinpoint the location.

    Is this with or without the resonators on?

    • @PowerSports

      The changes I made, start at the expansion joint, and go back from there. I did not touch anything in front of that joint, as it could cause warranty and legality issues.
