RIP Chris. One of very few celebrity deaths that really personally hurt. I cried like a baby. Chris and especially Soundgarden got me through my late teens and early twenties at a time when I wanted nothing more than to go to sleep forever. I felt like he was singing directly to me about my life. I wish I could somehow go back and let him know how loved and appreciated he was, how he pretty much saved my life.

So many of the same feelings. I was devastated. Their music got me through so much, it weirdly felt like a failure that he couldn’t feel that same support. All the best to you.

@@eddunn4121 part of me wonders if the conspiracy theories have some truth to them. It looked like Chris had some kind of head injury prior to the gig at the Fox in some images showing the back of his head. He seemed to have his shit together, was aging gracefully, had reunited the band, still had THAT voice, if anything in better shape than it had been while he was in Audioslave...

Thanks for reacting to my favourite artist and song, I'm glad you enjoyed it.
What is interesting is that with 3 of the original RATM (Rage Against the Machine) members in this band (Tim Commerford on bass, Brad Wilk on drums and Tom Morello on guitar), they had to learn how to play differently than they did with RATM. Tim Commerford has said Chris had such a melodic voice that they had to learn how to play around that.
Hopefully you'll do a live version of this song now. Having seen Chris play live in an acoustic show, it really heightens your appreciation of his craft.
    Have a great day.

This song and version by Audioslave is epic, but the version of Chris singing it solo with his guitar is transcendental…the first time I heard it I was shooting pool by myself on one of many sleepless nights and I had to stop shooting, stood next to the table, closed my eyes and just listened, with tears in my eyes. I highly recommend you treat yourself to Soungarden and Chris's solo work. Chris Cornell is my favorite artist. I still listen to him everyday. There's so much to choose from. I do suggest you listen to Temple of the dog. Hunger Strike is always recommended but this album is full og great songs from beginning to end. It is Chris Cornell and Eddie Vedder from Pearl Jam collaborating. They originally did this work of art on a beach after Chris lost one of his close friends Andy Wood from Motherbone. He passed away from a overdose. This album wasn't originally meant to be published and sold. But when the radio stations started playing hunger strike the fans went crazy. Therefore, they processed this album in a studio and it sold millions of copies. Thank you for your entertainment! Very enjoyable. 😊😊😊

Chris Cornell was my favorite vocalist. If you ever can, check out 'Say Hello 2 Heaven' by Temple of the Dog. It's one of my favorite songs that Chris ever sang.

Enjoyed the reaction Jenn, although in the beginning of the video your expression killed me " such a dirty girl" for the life of me I can't remember. Thought it was in Audioslave or Sound garden. Hey I understand, so much music and so little time. I get it!
    Love your reaction & analysipeace

There’s a reason guys like him and Layne Staley had a similar sound. And it’s not a vocal decision. It’s an empty torment in the soul
