Thanks u saved me a lot $ I was about to buy the ficm
Great video. Thank you
muy buena clase👍
Thanks bro for this video..i have the same problem i have code p1378 and p611
What blew the fuse in the first place?
fuse 18
Chris, that's my exact question too. That 10A fuse only controls the coil side of a relay. Aside from some bizarre cEMF issue, it's hard to imagine that fuse blowing in the first place.
Ford usually has issues with micro arcing at connection points. Not saying this is the issue but it could be.
Having the same thing on my 04. No clatter and also no fuel pump
Glad I found your page I got a 2005 f350 crank no start and have no clatter but sometimes the truck starts i did replace the board inside the Ficm and still no clatter but it does start without the clatter sometimes 🤷🏽also replaced relay it had brown spots please help
Truck will be back. You need to figure out why that fuse blew.
Good point but sometimes fuses are weak from the get go, all good info to consider
It's a Ford diesel, that's why! Junk
I have a an 05 that won't start. No injector clatter when key is turned on.
Injector voltage 45V when key is turned on but drops to 0.
Cannot perform injector test with scanner.
I have tried swapping the FICM and FICM relay from a running truck.
There is no power to fuse # 15 in the engine compartment fuse/relay box.
If I jump power to it, the voltage remains at 48V and I can perform injector self test and with no codes for failed injectors and they all sound the same.
The engine will start when I jump power to fuse# 15 but it blows as soon as the engine starts.
I'm not certain that it is a short to ground because the fuse only blows when I apply 12V to it.
Any suggestions? Ever run into this?
Really good video man
I have 06 6.0 with no power to I sector 5. All others will buzz, when wires are switched with 5 and 7 the wires to 7 will buzz injector 5 but not vice versa.
yep why did that fuse blow ???
So if you have 48v, 47.5 on crank and 10volts for the others why no clatter? Bad ficm?
Did you solve it ?
Thank you Doctor
I have a 2003 6.0 with no injector clatter and no sync but if I unplug the ficm plu closest to the front of the truck and plug it back in I will get injector clatter soon as I plug it in any thoughts?
Thanks for the info bro
Is it normal when you start your truck and it showing 32 or 30 bolts from the Feom and then after 20 minutes 10 minutes driving go up to 47 boats 47.5
great video man.. I do have a question, what if my problem is more where sometimes I turn key on and hear injector clatter noise only for about to seconds, some other times for like 3-4 seconds then it it shuts off.. somerimes whennit does that Im able to turn truck on and clatters good on hottest hours of the day..
tell me.The voltage on the module is 48.5, on an idle engine, and the injectors are not tested!
if it was a bad ficm and it was getting power and you also added extra 12 volts to it what would’ve happened?
04 f250 here blowing #22 fuse
Mine keeps blowing the 50 amp fuse in the fusebox inside the cab, no start, no clutter.,
All fuses are good no clatter can hook up computer on stop could it be the ficm
Using scan guage 2...showing 48.5 fmp and 12.5 vlt but still no clatter...any help greatly appreciated
Me to did you figure anything out
@@jaredoverschmidt8515 never did ...other than now the egr cooler is plugged up...blowing the dreaded white smoke and pushing coolant out of tail pipe. So it's parked and I'm done. Lol
@@troydennis8561 I just went through that I got studs egr oil cooler injectors head gasket and o ringed heads 9 grand and 4 days later throwing codes
What causes for 6.0 idling for 5 minutes and suddenly shutdown?! IPR is new, ISP is new no air leak, injectors resealed...the second question: what purpose has little air pump on a passenger side by the battery? Can it cause ,,no start, or to shut down the engine?
Hello. I have an issue with my 2004 f250 6.0.Crank no start. I watched Diesel tech Ron's video on FICM SYNC. I was using the Torque pro app and couldn't figure out how he set up the sync pid. regardless, I suspected a sync issue because I had hpop pressure,48 volts etc. During Rons's video,he grabbed the harness by the thermostat housing and pulled it up and down, then the truck he was working on started. I did the same thing on my truck, pulled up on the harness and my truck started! WOW! I havn't had a problem since but am afraid this issue will happen again. Ron said during his video that there could be or is a problem with the harness but did not go into further detail. Have you seen this issue? Is there a way to repair the harness that you know of? Or best just to replace the engine harness? Any info on this matter would be so appreciated! And thanks for all of your videos!
You could replace the harness if you've got the spare change or you could take all the covers off the harness and perform an inspection.
Wire Harnesses are for the patient😜I live with 2 women who want to turn the key & Go‼️👍🤠… WOMEN‼️😩
Hello there. So I replaced my oil pump, the solenoid on top as well, replaced the oils pressure switch, icp, camshaft and crank sensor and my e350 6.0 still does t want to turn on ! Can can’t it be? I have trued everything. Please help me thank you for your time
I have an interesting problem. The reverse solenoid starts clicking rapidly.the engine will idle up to about a thousand RPMs and the torque converter stays unlocked while this is going on. Then it stops doing that and it drives fine. Need some advice on this.
Update on above scenario sitting in park 900 RPM cooling fan fully engaged engine temp is reading 178
in the current five minute of tell me please what happened that
Mine works dust the opposite. The injectors stay on and it drains the battery. What do I do?
can you plug in the ficm. back words
There is a pigtail on the drivers side of the firewall that comes out of the lower left side (if you are facing the firewall) of that fluid tank (looks like coolant overflow). The pigtail looks like it can be connected together. What is it? What does it do? Not my truck and I only looked at it once.
Okay question have 04 6.0 recently purchased truck runs great but once run it down road after about mile she jumps into limp mode any suggestions on what would cause this ...if shut off and restart the truck re sets and runs fine for nuther few miles
I have a 05 6.0 that came in the shop running rough. FICM voltage was low, 42 and bouncing around below the 45 mark. Put new FICM in and voltage is hood but it is smoking. Did fuel compensation strategy and 4 is high on the graph. Should I put new injector in 4?
What if i still don’t hear the injectors clacking after giving the other 12 volts to the relay?
Did you find the problem?
2003 60 dies while driving will ideal have changed filters and pump
I get one question my 2005 f250 diesel dies out randomly while driving no engine light/lights comes on dash…strong crank but like after like 20 minutes of not touching it starts right up like nothing happened my friend put it on his scanner and the battery and ficm was different reading so I changed the batteries still dies out so I check fuels or ficm would have to change lmk asap thanks for the help 🤙🏽
What did you come up with? I have the same problem. I’m on a tight schedule.
@@AidenStrehle did you fix yours?
@@BrandonS-er5qe nope🥲
Hi, I have an 05 6.0 the ficm isn’t chattering. Replaced the relay and it worked for a few hours then died again. Any recommendations? New ficm 30k miles ago
I have a 2003 6.0 I’m getting no crank no start and no fuel pump or injector Clatter do you have any suggestions
How’d you fix it??
You still an active channel? I got a question 🙋♂️
We're you located what city
Wow thank you
Am not getting injectors clatter is mine damaged?
What kind of tester is that ??
You say ficm synk's when the cam and crank see each other. I'm seeing cam and crank synk but no ficm synk. I built the engine myself using your older vid to time it, it's hard to believe I got that wrong but it is possible

At a gas station getting gas for his diesel...

How can I get a hold of you I have a code 105 and 306 and I've replaced my PCM and my second and neither one of them and checked all the wires going to it what am I missing

I have no clatter on my truck and everything is showing good 12 in 48 out. What's next??
Gary Ogilby check harness under ficm. Make sure they are plugged in good. Then unplug all but 1 injector. See if that one injector clatters. If it does then keep going one at a time. Once you get to the injector that makes it not clatter then replace that injector. If you have no clatter even with one injector replace or try another ficm
2004 Ford F 350 SuperDuty 6.0 all of a sudden the rpm will not go beyond 2200 regardless of how hard it is pressed.I used the small common obd2 scanner and it reads p0261.What could that code measn and what is the solution to this issue. Thanks and I hope to hear from you and others that knows what this is and what can be done to get it resolved.
Did you ever fix this? I have the same problem. Please get back to me😂
What software are you using?
I have a 6.0 that starts sometimes. FICM is brand new. No injector clatter when is doesn't start. Any ideas? Thanks!
Harold Brooks have you tried the 304 relay under the hood and the 10 amp spade fuse that powers it? Mine is doing the same thing I think my old FICM has died
@@rgj5832 did you find the problem
@@jonathanbravozya yes it was a bad FICM logic board. Most of the time when a FICM goes bad it's the power board mine was the logic board.
@@rgj5832 Did you replace the logic board or replace the entire FICM? Thanks
@@JOATiDetermined at the time I couldn't get just a logic board so I replaced the entire FICM.
tested my FICM and showing 700+ volts what could my problem be? trucks running rough
how are you getting this reading?
Im not getting clatter the ficm tested bad on scan gauge 38 FMP.would it cause it to not clatter or do i look further.like you did check the fuse
edward garcia if your getting 38volts then your power supply in the ficm is bad. Change power supply side on the ficm and you should be back up and running.
theres your problem right there. he put gas in it
I have a 6.0 doing same problem but injectors do clatter but no start and I can not hook up scanner to ecm
@@mackenziealcala1749 same problem think its a bad ground
Will the truck start without this 48v? Mine doesn't clatter and runs for a second then dies. It'll stay running after about 3 tries
You need 46v min to start
All voltages appear to be right. I don't see anything wrong however I'm changing the oil this weekend and maybe the filter is incorrect. My wife took it to walmart for it last time.
I'm having the same problem but the fuse isn't blown but has no fire what does that mesn
My 6.0L powerstroke only clatter when the engine is at operating temperature, once cold the injectors don't clatter and the engine don't start. Any ideas? All fuses are good.
ruizhernandeztrust injectors are probably shot.
That's strange. Truck only has 59k miles, 1600 engine hours, running rotella t6 all the time. Runs like a champ after engine warms up. I suspect wiring problems or ground problems. Thanks for the response. I'll keep searching the problem tomorrow, if not I'll set that pile of turd on fire. 😠
