I took my 2007 6.0 to the dealership they try to charge me $1000 to just open up the engine to see what’s wrong with it. I took it back from them followed your steps, and a few others and my truck started right up… 💯💪🏾🔥💯
The metal had to come from somewhere. I would be very suspect of a lifter having failed/starting to fail. They are notorious for the roller bearings failing, sending metal into the low pressure oil pump and causing havoc. Good work. Down the road I would be pulling that front cover to check the LPOP when feasible.
I agree the metal came from somewhere and wasn’t put there by international. Not my truck not up to me. Truck is a abused tree truck. I do what I can but at the end of the day I can only recommend things. Doubt it’s a lifter roller, if it was the pump is usually done after that goes through it.
My 03 is giving me plenty of fits this year. Guess she’s getting tired. Crank no start today. Had the hpop replaced about 2 months ago. Video looks very similar to my current issue. Hopefully my fix is as easy I’d sell this sucker if I could ha!
Im wondering if you might know why my 6.0 powerstroke 2007 F 350?starts but wont Idle and for it to start pedal has to be applied ? Any help would be appreciated!
You press the drain back valve down to make sure it’s intact and holding, also let’s you evaluate if the oil filter housing is filling in a reasonable amount of time to assess if the LPOP is doing it’s job. Extension is just the easiest way to push it down.
Have you had issues with Ford OEM Standpipe failures? I am on the second high pressure oil leak in 6,000 mi. Now hot start issue is Intermittent and hard for shop to diagnose. 2005 6.0 one owner. Have read others have similar failures. Great Channel Thank You!
I’ve never had any come back after I’ve installed oem ford. Not saying I’ve done anything special but I do throughly grease the orings up and torque to 60 ft lbs. most failures I’ve seen are on older oem that are original or the non updated or aftermarket’s such as dorman.
Did you ever find the fix on the hot no start? I've replaced stand pipes, oils rails, ipc/ipr/crankshaft sensors. I've gone through 3 ipc sensors and still getting the 2285 code as well. Oem as well
@@kevinlee4935 this was a crank no start I fixed it. I don’t believe I’ve had a video on a crank no start or crank no start hot that I didn’t fix. Matter of fact I’ve never had one at all I didn’t fix.
@@AutomedicGarage A recent bulletproofed 6.0, I repaired, had the original oil filter housing with the guts removed and plugs where the oil would come and go from the housing. That is why I’m asking.
Good find! Thx 4 the tip! He needs to invest in some new batteries? He's going to be investing in a new FICM. BTW. What diag software are you using? Thx, Ed
Need to clean your ears out and get your eyes checked @ 3:30 I literally showed it and said which direction it goes. Need to check your attitude before commenting because you didn’t pay attention to the video.
YOU ALWAYS PUT OUT GREAT USEFUL CONTENT.....PLEASE KEEP THEM COMING.....
Thanks bud
You fixed the same thing on my truck. Before that, I had no idea that the relief valve even existed. Thank you for all your help!
I like watching these videos. Right to the point an example where to look. Very informative

Great video !!!
Another very good video.
Love these videos
Thanks bud. Thanks for watching
Amazing. Never heard of this and I’ve had my 6.0 for 18 years now
Once again GREAT video! I never did spray brake cleaner inside also I would run the magnet again after. Thanks for the insightful tips!

Looks like a piece of casting from the engine block
Do you recommend IPR products? I’ve been comparing some of their parts vs BPD
Sometimes that’s all you can do is look at it lmao

Was the gauge in the cluster reading normal oil pressure before pulling the relief valve.
@@jkemmis100 it takes 7 psi for the gauge to register on the dash so no it wasn’t reading, you literally have zero lpo if your relief valve is stuck
Why do you place an extension in the low pressure oil drain ? Is it necessary or can you do without ?

I didn't even know about that relief valve. Is that on all model/years of 6.0?
It sure is!

Hey man i got a 04 6blow. Turns on fine but then after a while the rpms start jumping crazy. Any idea of what i could be?
How would you check that low pressure oil, if the engine has been bulletproofed?
The same way. It doesn’t change anything about what I did. Bulletproofing(which is a generic term)doesn’t change anything about diagnosing.

Goodnight. What is the correct oil for 6.0 - 2004. Thank you.
Calls for 15-40 but they run much better on rotella 5-40 or motorcraft 10-30

Was that metal piece cast iron or mild steel?
Looked like steel, didn’t seem porous looking like cast to me.
@@AutomedicGarage wonder where it came from lol. This is why it's a great investment to stick a strong azz magnet on the oil pan!
What scanner tool you got ?

It boggles the mind that Ford didn't just put a real oil pressure sending unit/gauge in. I hate not knowing what my LP oil pressure is.
It’s on the dash. That’s what you oil pressure on the dash is reading LPO. It has to see at least 7psi to register.
@@AutomedicGarage Yes; it masquerades as a gauge though... Might as well be a light. It is on/off at 7psi.
Is unselfish a word?
I guess this is a compliment
I the entire video to see the right direction of the valve reinstalled you never showed it. That’s messed up.
