Looking to start taking this, so I will watch the other videos, but do you have something like a blog post or similar where you list the other items that can be taken on off days? @Nutrition Library - NEW SUBSCRIBER! Hi ZACK! Is it okay to consume olive oil as a fat source? ALSO is the honey necessary for absorption? Or is it just for taste? Thanks! GREAT VIDEOS! 👍👍👍
I’ve been taking it twice a day morning and night for 4 or 5 months and it’s kept me so calm. I had a lot of stress going on, single parent of 2 and moving across state with zero help. So I’ve needed the help to have cortisol levels reduced on a daily basis and I just do not feel stress in my body at all and it’s amazing. Typically I had anxiety and felt that stress in my chest. Now, nope. The stress is in the environment outside me but I just don’t react to it like before
Man your channel is amazing! instant subbed! so i was thinking about a cycle of sorts, with 4 compounds: ASHWA, RODHIOLA, GINSENG PANAX and L-THIANINE The original plan was to take a pill with every compound and thats done, but as i was researching ive come across some info about this isnt the most productive take ,culminating in this video. So my new plan is: ASHWA 5 days;RODHIOLA 5 days;GINSENG 5 days and L-THIANINE 5 days. See, trough monday to friday i use a compound, weekends off and start a new compound next week. Id love to hear whats your take on this and would help a lot.ah Its mainly for stress! thanks!
Willian monteiro pires wouldn’t necessarily be a bad idea. But I think a better approach would be two pair two of the compounds together like Ash + Ginseng on workout days and Rhodiola + theanine on non workout days. That way the effects can build up without you developing tolerance. I’ve actually done the above stack
I just started to use ASHWAGANDHA every day for anxiety relief. It seems to be helping me so far. Would you recommend using L theanine on weekends for anxiety relief and ASHWAGANDHA on weekdays? I didn't realize I should not be taking ASHWAGANDHA every day, I don't want to build up a tolerance. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Great informative video, I look forward to watching more.
Great questions!! I typically recommend taking it every day for 3 months, then switching to the micro cycles that I discussed. And YES. Theanine is a GREAT option for your off days. It may also benefit you to take several weeks off once per year to help reset tour body. That would be my long term approach.
@@NutritionLibrary Just wondering, why do you recommend starting off with just 3 months straight? It is to see how your body reacts to it? Because i just got my ashwandha and was thinking of doing 5 days on 2 off to avoid tolerance buildup
I wasn't cycling it, and I'm not sure how long I took it, but my serum hemoglobin ran high, and I was no longer able to donate plasma (too much hemoglobin clogs the machine.) I stopped taking it and within a few weeks, my hemoglobin dropped to within range. I've been off for eight weeks and I think I'll start cycling it soon.

So I deal with anxiety and currently take a B-Complex every day. I just pick up one bottle organic Ashwagandha root powder and one bottle of L-Theanine. Is it safe to take all 3 at the same time? Or is there a specific combo to not take or avoid? Just found your channel btw and it’s very helpful. Thank you.
Yes, there should be no negative reactions. Magnesium would probably also help you. A lot of people are deficient, which leads to anxiety. It would likely benefit you to correct that deficiency

zach, if a primary reason for taking ashawagandha is to reduce cortisol, would it be unwise to take it if you are dealing with inflammation? cortisol is anti inflammatory so if someone is in pain due to inflamation it seems reducing the body's cortisol production would be counterproductive.

Great video, I love your channel, and I have a very current question. If I have taken ashwaganda for a longer time (years) every single day, or a maximum of 2-3 weeks of pause, could I develop withdrawal symptoms? Actually I have trouble sleeping now, and waking up early with a high level of anxiety (which could caused by overproduced cortisol, I think). Do you think these symptomps raised because I started not to take Ashwaganda? What do you think how long of a break shoul I take to my body to letting go the toleranc and then start micro or macro cycles?
3 weeks is usually a good break period. After 3 weeks you should probably be good to start doing micro cycles. Try switching to theanine and Tongkat Ali while you are off of Ash.

Hello! Love your videos and appreciate how you share knowledge 💕. I’ve been taking Ashwagandha for about 2 months for anxiety. I take one Jarrow Ashwagandha every 12 hours with Tongkat Ali. It’s been very helpful. I’m concerned about cycling from Ashwagandha to avoid developing a tolerance. How can I start the micro cycle you mention in the video like 4 days on and 3 days off. Should I stop taking Ashwagandha for a month and then begin the micro cycle? I plan on stacking Theanine, ginkgo Biloba, Korean ginseng, and phosphatidyl serine for off days. is this a good plan or can I simply start the micro cycle? Thanks for reading all of this 😊
Great video thank you! I found taking both doses at once (600 mg total) had me feeling tired too early in the day. The last couple days I have taken 300mg when I first get up and then again in the afternoon...however now that I'm aware of the information in this vid I'm considering taking it a few hours after the first morning dose.

Yea that's what I'm doing Monday to Thursday
I have been taking Nature Made Ashwaganda for about 1 Week. I don’t feel a difference but my girlfriend says I’m much calmer. I suffer from PTSD which includes Anxiety and Depression. I am learning more about KSM66 and was wondering if you have any “suggestions” on which reputable brands for KSM66 you would recommend? I’m going to finish my bottle that I have now but am looking for a KSM66 to start afterwards. I hope to hear back from you and yes I subscribed! Great content!
I like Pretty much everything Jarrow makes. They have a good KSM
once heard that you should take it for 4 weeks and then one week off. seems simpler to me. would it also be alright?
Yeah whatever is easiest for you. There’s no exact science to this, just personal preference
Hey, thanks for the info. What is the best brand to consider? tnx!
Jarrow and Himalaya
@@NutritionLibrary Thanks!
Great channel. I appreciate the evidence based approach without selling products.
I’m glad you like it! I’m trying to stay as unbiased as possible
Great information. Thanks for sharing!
No problem!
Whats a good brand? Or website?
Fantastic value!
So if you don't take it right before bed, do you still get the benefits of better sleep?
I've heard this multiple times and have the experience myself.. after Ashwagandha I have the best sleep ever. Dreams, deep sleep, I wake up fresh, clear, and happy.
But it also makes me energetic and focused for the first 1-2 hours after I take it, which is obviously not what I am looking for at night.
This is my experience exactly, which is why I take it at lunch or with dinner, so that it doesn’t keep me up before bed.
This was so helpful! Thank you!

Do you and can we converse via email?
Are there any specific brands that you would/ would not recommend?
Jarrow and Himalaya are good.
@@NutritionLibrary i recently got the himalaya organic version. The ingredients lead me to believe there is only withania somnifera in it...
You should try el chapo's vitamins.
I'm definitely more relaxed since taking ashwagandha but tried it at night time and I didnt sleep.
Lol
I have severe anxiety with so many symptoms I can’t even describe. Will this help
Possibly
which is better in your opinion macro or micro cycling?
Just because it's easy for me to remember could I cycle 5 days on and the wkend off? I just stated taking it 1 day ago so this is my 2nd day. I have heard you have have to build up the effect in blood stream. So in beginning I need to stay on every day? Thanks a bunch.
Yeah ideally you would take it every day for 1-3 months and then start doing whatever cycle you choose to do.
@@NutritionLibrary thanks....will do. 👍😊
@@NutritionLibrary If i understand, taking ashwaganda for 1 month straight, and cycle on 5 days and L-Theanin 3 days off?
It's really refreshing to find someone actually acknowledge that there is in fact a tolerance with Ashwagandha. My body is REALLY quick to tolerance with Adaptogens, which is frustrating because the first time I take it, it really does work miracles. But after the second or third day it basically stops working all together. Do you have any advice for people who have a fast tolerance with supplements?
Have you tried cycling 2 days on 2 days off ?
@@bradsharman565 Yeah I've started both cycle it/ use more sparingly now and have found some improvment.
Actually I feel like I will clarify also that, since cleaning up my diet, exercise and addressing my life stresses properly, and not over using adaptogens and not using them every day, they have become more effective again.
@@xavierhernandez1810 That's the thing. They help, but they can't carrie your body or mind for you. It's still a supplement.
You are at the core of it all, and it's you who has to work on your own, not the supplements, they are just an small aid. Figured that out the hard way. ^^
The big life lesson when it comes to your body: everything in moderation. :)
@@WhiteErFox Yeah your 100% correct, Balance and moderation has always been a slight issue for myself but something I learning to do alot better now, and yeah atm I try to just have some ashwaganha and rhodiolla on me at all times but to only take only when I feel I really need it. And it works like a charm, in the same way, eating a solid healthy meal, resting, stretching can be equally rejuvenating.
Looking to start taking this, so I will watch the other videos, but do you have something like a blog post or similar where you list the other items that can be taken on off days? I got the L-Theanine, but not sure about the others names in print would be handy :) Also, just pick one from the list and take on the 3 off days? Take all on the off days? Alternate cyclically on the off days? Thank you!
Yeah. The main compounds I cycle through when I’m not taking Ash are theanine, Tongkat Ali, theanine, and panax ginseng. I have videos on all of those. Check them them out and see which one might be best for you.
Can ashwagandha cures maladaptive daydreaming disorder???
I’m not familiar with it
@@NutritionLibrary okkk
If I take it mon-fri and skip sat and sun would that be micro cycle?
Hi may I ask if you’ve ever taken L-Theanine and Ashwagandha together? If so what did you find any advice it’s been two days now that I’ve taken l-Theanine 250mg in the morning and then Ashwagandha 600mg after lunch, any suggestions, it seems to be working as far as the anxiety and panic attacks are concerned. Thank you for your time.
If you use both together, You will stay awake like an owl.
wish you mentioned the differences between the extract, root powders and others etc, regardless really enjoyed the video was very informative!
He has a video where he breaks that down
Would it work if I run a cycle of ashwagandha for 4 days and shilajit for the rest of the 3 days?
Perfect
how much to take? how many mg?
I take 1/3 the recommended dosage and feel excellent. Greatest results from a natural supplement ever.
I just take it whenever I feel like it. Simple.
Exactly
Great all round informative advice and suggested methods. Thank you.
No problem. Thanks for taking the time to say something!! I’m glad you enjoyed it
@Nutrition Library - NEW SUBSCRIBER! Hi ZACK! Is it okay to consume olive oil as a fat source? ALSO is the honey necessary for absorption? Or is it just for taste? Thanks! GREAT VIDEOS! 👍👍👍
Am I allowed to take it with cold water and what are the main benefits
If it is an extract you can take it with anything.
Stress reduction is the primary benefit. Tons of others though.
Is it good to take ashwaganda for 4 weeks and take 2 weeks off
And take l theanine in those 2 weeks off?
I’ve been taking it twice a day morning and night for 4 or 5 months and it’s kept me so calm. I had a lot of stress going on, single parent of 2 and moving across state with zero help. So I’ve needed the help to have cortisol levels reduced on a daily basis and I just do not feel stress in my body at all and it’s amazing. Typically I had anxiety and felt that stress in my chest. Now, nope. The stress is in the environment outside me but I just don’t react to it like before
Man your channel is amazing! instant subbed! so i was thinking about a cycle of sorts, with 4 compounds: ASHWA, RODHIOLA, GINSENG PANAX and L-THIANINE
The original plan was to take a pill with every compound and thats done, but as i was researching ive come across some info about this isnt the most productive take ,culminating in this video.
Did you make a decision about this William?
The speed and tone of your voice is easy to understand. Thanks for the valuable information.
Great video very informative, this video put me in mind of a UA-cam reviewer that suffers from PTSD, ex military. he was taken high doses of withdrawal for several days and PTSD symptoms came back and he stop taking ashwagandha . Thanks for the video people need to hear this . Doctors may not understand, like my doctor trying to understand how I'm 320 pounds with no health issues. She ask me to name something's I was doing.
You have not health problems because you are young.
Eat healthy.
@@Doriesep6622 Agreed. No such thing as a 320 lbs HEALTHY person.
Nutrition Library Thank you so much! I really appreciate it.
I have basic powder, how much should i take?
1-3 grams
Thank you so much for sharing this very helpful video. Could you please tell me which brands are the best
I take turmeric milk day one and ashwagandha milk day two
{ Dabur ashwagandha } 3gm a day
Seams to be a good cycle!
Thank you for all the awesome content you have made on this compound. I recently ordered some ashwagandha but not sure if it's root powder or extract. I will be making a video on this compound to provide anecdotal data on it in conjunction with a light dumbbell training protocol. I'll be sure to mention these videos!
Great information! Thank you! I'm going to try Mon-Thu on and Fri-Sun off and see how that goes.

How many mg of ashwaghanda do you recommend taking?
Most effective would be about 500mg without taking an overly absurd amount
@@aic9235 Thank you!
can we take ashwagandha and creatine together
zach, if a primary reason for taking ashawagandha is to reduce cortisol, would it be unwise to take it if you are dealing with inflammation? cortisol is anti inflammatory so if someone is in pain due to inflamation it seems reducing the body's cortisol production would be counterproductive.
IMO I agree with your logic - curious what Zach says regarding Ashwaghanda reducing cortisol ... thereby allowing- more inflamation. Seems like an inverse reaction for you! .
Great to the point review. Thank you. Just started taking Himalayan ashagwanda 2 days ago. Feel more relaxed

Cycling from Ashwagandha during the week to forskolin on the weekends, I feel no difference. However, cycling back to Ashwagandha causes a foggy feeling for a day. Is this normal?
Yeah. Especially if you aren’t prone to anxiety.
Try taking it in the evening
Doing this seasons seed order, was considering growing this. But I wanted to look into it more, remember you had videos for *Ashwa reccomended when we talked on your Cordycep vids.
Thank you for the information.
If I may ask, how would you handle *Ashwa fresh to get accurate dosage & I don't consume animal products, I eat nuts for fats.. would you happen to have a nut reccomendation?
I like almond butter personally. And traditionally it is dried and either brewed as tea or taken mixed with a fat source.
I had been taking zhou DHEA 50mg the last year and i noticed a definite well being feeling at first. However the last few months I didn’t notice much and actually have been battling anxiety/depression. I haven’t taken in about a week.
I just started terrasoul ashwagandha today and immediately experienced and overall sense of well being again. I’m glad I came across this video.
I would like to hear your thoughts on DHEA.
I’ll do a video on it soon. I’m not a big fan of introducing exogenous hormones into the body
Nutrition Library awesome! I was advised to by a counselor over a year ago. I think it ultimately had a negative effect on libido.
I’ve just gotten some tongkat Ali from BS in today I plan on micro cycling every other week with ashwagandha.
Good plan! I cycle between those two as well
What is the best to take it with in powdered form???
Your favorite fat. Doesn’t matter what it is. I like coconut oil personally
Is ashwagandha good for depression?
Also, How long does it take to see any benefits?
3 minutes and 27 seconds in the northern hemisphere and 43 Weeks in the Southern Hemisphere unless you’re backwashing your beetroots.

Thanks for reading all of this 😊
If I were you I would pick a schedule where I alternate between Tongkat Ali and Ashwagandha
I am also suffering from anxiety...
Pls tel me how should I take Ashwaganda
