In this video I'll walk you through how I hand router wood signs. Be sure to follow me on Facebook: / splinterfingerswoodwor... Instagram: splinter_fingers...
I use the Ridgid trim router a little tip around Black Friday to Christmas normally they have a sale where it is sold in a combo pack that includes a sheet sander the little sheet sander is a good finish sander and you're basically getting it for free I purchased a Miles Craft trim router base plate it has a much larger base and handles which helps you with control while routering signs You can pick them up at Lowe's or on Miles Crafts website for around $20 the router combo kit was around $100 a few years ago when I got mine
Thanks something that I have learned over the years is it's best to start routing soon after sticking down the template seems like if you give it any amount of time the glue will start unsticking
@@splinterfingerswoodworking8995 if I'm using a scroll saw I will sometimes stick the pattern down, but I still prefer the good old carbon paper and trace method 😉
Nice work man, it turned out great. I noticed in the final pictures you stained it, and then painted the lighter colors. Are there any good tips to know about adding paint to stained wood, or vice versa? Any problems applying the stain with the black primer?
I recommend that you put down a coat of clear coat before starting your detail painting and if possible try not to stain where you will be detail painting. As far as staining over the black primer it doesn't hurt a thing it will actually help if you miss a small spot with the black primer it will help it blend in more
Thanks, I was just looking for what the router is use for 😆😃😅😃
