You guys make me feel warm and fuzzy about tracking my 987.1 Cayman S with 112k miles. I'll ship my car to you whenever the motor blows. I can't believe I'm semi-looking forward to that....
We sell conversion kits or you can have us do the conversion in house. The kits for the Cayman, including the complete CANN integration using the Pro EFI hardware and our custom harnesses, range between 10k and and 15k. In house conversions including a NEW GM Performance LS3 start at roughly $35k. Please call us with more details. Thank you...
@@RenegadeHybrids I'm replacing my C7Z with a 08 Cayman S to save some money and capitalize on the market being so hot for Corvettes. I really really hope that you guys will still be around when the M97 bites the dust. I'm located in St George area in Utah so you guys are a hop and a skip away. Awesome video.
@@RenegadeHybrids not gonna lie, that cost with a blown motor 987.1 sounds like a fair deal compared to a newer 3.4 setup. I might look into this down the line. In house conversions? Where are you guys located?
@@rcghalohell In house...sure. We do have a pretty big wait list however...sorry. We are in Vegas and we have several cars to show you if you are interested in coming for a visit!!!
Do your swaps pass an OBDII emissions scan? I’m interested in doing a 986 with an LS, but Illinois requires anything with an obdii port to pass a scan every 2 years, no 25 year exemption. Thanks!
If you use the GM ERod 430HP V8, yes they pass emissions testing at the OBD2 level. And, by the way, that engine is a very finely tuned platform. I say this because it took GM quite a long time to come up with an engine well over 400HP that could be installed in just about anything and pass emissions. What that means is, the tune in this engine is like a factory car. It is so smooth and responsive, I would highly suggest anyone to use it.
Is this your own plug and play wiring system? or id it a wire diagram on where to tap in using the pro efi? ive been prepping for this build for almost 2 years now! i have my LS3 with the flipped intake a Boxster s Transaxle with a LSD and a few other goodies in there, planning on purchasing the kit soon!
That would depend on the tire diameter. Since we prefer to use the stronger and taller-geared Boxster S transaxles in place of the Cayman transaxle, you can look up the ratios in a 2002 Boxster S and use a gear calculator to get your exact figures. Just a guess, you are just shy of 3000 RPM at 75mph with roughly stock diameter rims and tires.
@@RenegadeHybrids Why do you prefer to use that particular transaxle? I've heard the newer transaxles are better/stronger. Transaxles such as the 987 Boxster S, 981 Boxster S, etc?
@@sadlurmarcelus3205 The 986 Getrag transaxle is a far better transaxle than the 987 Asen box. Just the diameter of the input shaft is a perfect comparison. Plus the gears are taller in the 986...better for the V8.
Hello, blew engine in 2008 cayman s. 45,000 miles. WP failed, got hot, gone. It is automatic tran. Just had painted, new tires, wanna keep. However, I would like to do LS swap. I'd take that bet! He loves the car and shows everyone the video. We have a very good relationship with our customers. Sure, some would rather not see their car's sideways. However, the majority ask us if we would do a video like this that they can show their friends...Hence the abundance of tire smoke in some of our videos.
This video made me grin ear to ear especially when the peel out and slides started. Wow what a machine! If my 997 engine blows I’m going to Vegas.
Huge fan of what you're doing here, and hoping to be a customer one day too. Keep up the fantastic work!
time to look for a late model boxster spyder with blown engine!
Or just buy a used Corvette
Late model? Id do it to one of those new base 718 caymans or boxer 😂😂
Every time I see your videos I look for cars with blown engines. Manifesting my 930 sc targa ls swap

Will a Cayman S transaxle work with the build?
Yes, but they are considerably weaker and the gear ratios are not as well suited for the conversion.
