No joke i had a super funny bug where when the Misfits started granade practice they droped them at their feet and got blown to hell XD absolutely made my day.
That's hilarious. The developers should have had Mags' idea not work, and the misfits just blow themselves up if they even try to learn squad tactics.
I think that happens when your explosives skill is too low and you try to teach them.

I cheated the system and they ended up attempting to run away and got court martialed and hung from the ranger statue at the Mojave Outpost.
They really hung Razz and Mags from the statue too you can go and check it out

That's...literally the last thing you ever want to do with a grenade. Most grenades explode on the count of three. In fact, the military expressly trains soldiers NOT to cook grenades because the fuses don't have totally precise timing.

Actually there is some training but it depends on the miltary and there grenades certain SAS British units are trained to cook for 2 seconds with nades that explode in 4-5 seconds.
I believe parts of usmc do similar.

You can avoid like 90% of new Vegas if your speech and intelligence is maxed out
I ALWAYS max my Intelligence and Luck. Hell, you can break the game balance altogether by using implants and chems to max out your SPECIAL stats, though you're going to need a LOT of Fixer to offset the addictions or take the Logan's Loophole trait. If you use alcohol on top of chems, ALWAYS follow it up with Mentats and Party Time Mentats to offset the Intelligence penalty or recruit Cass for her Whiskey Rose perk. You'll still get addicted to alcohol (again, barring Logan's Loophole), but you just won't suffer the INT penalty.
I also make it a point to do the DLCs BEFORE ever tackling any of the main quest. That way, you don't have to worry about tackling them later because the game ends when you finish the Battle of Hoover Dam. This isn't like Oblivion where you can keep playing after finishing the main quest. With max Intelligence, Luck, and Speech, you can easily power through much of Dead Money, including winning big at blackjack. You'll need high Speech, too, if you want to save Dog/God. You can also convince Joshua Graham to spare Salt-Upon-Wounds or fight SUW normally at the end of Honest Hearts, blow through Old World Blues, and get Ulysses to ally with you during the final battle of Lonesome Road (He has a VERY HIGH series of speech checks; the rep check doesn't matter). By the time I've even gotten to Ulysses' Temple, I've already maxed out Speech, Science, Survival, Lockpick, Unarmed, Repair (including taking the Jury Rigging perk), and Medicine; and this is all before ever entering the Strip.
Just like the original Fallout, hell in the original if you get the autopsy data on the super mutants from the brotherhood of steel and have high enough intelligence and speech you can beat the master without trying as you can convince him that his plan is flawed due to the mutants being sterile.

The speech skill in New Vegas is probably a bit too much if you know what I mean. It might have been better if they diversified the skill checks so that it was less likely you’d choose the correct one every time.
I suppose this is why the Outer Worlds separated speech into multiple skills.
Sergeant just got disappointed that some guy from Mojave knows more than he is and did what he can't. That is why he responded with his thrilling attitude.
Also Mags said that the camp is like filled with people who failed at their duty, so i think it's obvious now why he still a Sergeant.
No they just didn’t have the time to make every character a functioning human being.

Can't believe I missed this quest, when Camp Golf is directly in the way when you're headed straight to Vegas early in the main quest line. I really appreciate how thorough your videos are, and all the effort you put into making these.

Game mechanics are fun and exploiting. I like to think that the terminal is being hacked by the Pip-boy. If the contraption effects your nervous system, it can process a terminal.

Even went I went for the 'No Gods, No Masters' ending (on hardcore mode) I still stopped by to whip these guys into shape. After my first play through I realized they got wiped out I felt real bad. So I made it a mission to always drop by and help them out.
I sided with O'Hanrahan simply because teamwork makes the dreamwork.
I agree. And doing a combo with him and Mags is the best, if you can manage it. That way he's not so scared to pick up his gun and they all perform like a crack fightin' unit oughta! You suppose Mags ever makes Ranger?

That's quite commendable! I never went with Razz's or Poindexter's way in any playthroughs; now that I've seen them, courtesy of Mr. Ox, I'm glad I never did.
I agree on the "Basic human niceness"-thing being just that, nice. It would've also been interesting to have a possible combo outcome like TheJinx1441 suggested.
I usually go the Mags-route simply because I tend to roleplay characters that help folks out in as concrete a way as possible and making sure they are properly drilled to survive made me feel the Mags-path to be the best. Also even though it's not shown in-game it's feasible to think the Misfits probably became a tighter-knit more communicative group during the war campaign and after surviving(if the Mags-path is chosen) which would somewhat comply with the "human niceness"-part even though in a weird curveball-kind of way.

I thought The Misfits was a interesting group I think they show that even a group with many different conflicting personalities can achieve greatness when given the right motivation and guidance
I always went with Mages option because you can't beat practical experience and the chance to see the fruits of your labor

I’m starting New Vegas for the 1st time ever tonight. Not sure how I found this channel but I’ve been listening to it for almost a month straight. Oxhorn, your story telling is top notch brother
My platoon in the Army was the Misfits and we wore that name with pride. We were doing a brigade training exercise with three platoons from different battalions and one of the platoon sergeants asked mine "why are your guys so ate up...but they're doing better than anyone else out here?" And my PSG goes "listen. My guys, are field soldiers. In the field, they're some of the best guys I've ever served with. In garrison they're the worst people I've ever met." And if you didn't think our hearts swelled up with pride when we heard this, you don't remember that we were called the Misfits.

This is probably a heavy request but I’d REALLY enjoy a video on arcade gannon with a male courier who has the Confirmed Bachelor perk, I had that and had him as a companion and it was really intriguing to me and I enjoyed it quite a lot. I’m wondering what other decisions I could’ve made and what the outcomes were, and if I completely missed anything.

Was trying to figure out where I should go in camp golf so I put one of these on again. When I talked to McCredie he said ‘ah hell what is it now’ instead of ‘hot damn look who it is’ because I’m a soft hearted devil to the NCR. Just something I really love about this game.
I’d love to see the misfits show up again, a part of some expeditionary arm of the NCR into the commonwealth maybe. It just seems like a cool loose thread to follow in Fallout lore.

Well remember. "The milk of human kindness" is some sort of superweapon so O'Hanrahan might be on to something.
Technically you cook for a second and lob normally you don't want missing fingers or you just lob upon pulling the pin. Also for alot of people who're confused on their names "Mags", "Razz", and "Poindexter" are all Call Signs unlike O'Hanrahan who is just Private O'Hanrahan all 4 of them are Privates and Troublesome ones at that the big lug who loves Jebus isn't necessarily a big issue but Poin and Razz are Lonewolves who aren't even trying ;p
